Costa Coffee in Basildon

Areas stringed off for weeks due to what I assume is a leak, always cash only because their systems do not work (including costa card), they close when they want at short notice. There is always some handwritten note as if they decide what they want, and not a care taken for customers. This place really has gone down hill!

Out right rude male barista he’s service is disrespectful and disgusting behaviour total jobs worth

My partner went in there today around 4.05-4.10pm. The server was extremely rude to her. He was speaking to his mate completely ignoring the fact she was standing at the till in a quiet store. He approached her and rudely stated that he wouldnt serve customers who are on the phone. She politely told him that she was on the phone to the doctors and she was on hold so it was not a problem. He continued to refuse to serve her and was very rude whilst doing so unless she hung up the phone to the doctors. She then proceeded to ask to speak to a manager in which he replied that he indeed was the manager and there was no one in store who was above him. Nor me or my girlfriend have never had any problems with the female servers in there so it’s such a shame that you have now lost loyal customers due to rude ‘management team’. Very dissatisfied.

Staff are lovely, Anne-Marie is especially efficient. My favourite is the cinnamon bun or blueberry muffin.

As a regular visitor to the Costa in Wickford where staff recognise me & have always been friendly, today I was very disappointed after one of the staff was rude telling me I couldn’t use the toilet facilities if I hadn’t bought a drink. I had my young daughter with me & explained I’d be getting a drink as soon as we’d been to the toilet. And still he moaned that we needed to pay for a drink first. Seriously? This is how you treat your regular customers? Using the toilet is a necessity not a luxury! Maybe teach your staff to be a bit more pleasant in future. It’s such a shame as this was usually the best Costa in my local area.

Fantastic team at Wickford Costa! My wife and I moved to area 2 years ago and an occasional treat has turned into a bit of a routine. Staff are always cheerful and always well made coffee!

The team at Costa wickford are always exceptional and friendly and really do go out of their way when needed. I’ve been to several Costa across Essex and the difference between them and here is miles apart. Thank you for all the team here for their regular high service.

Great coffee - fast service - pleasent environment - few uncleared tables just brought down score

Our 1st visit to this wickford Costa. There was 6 of us altogether, and managed to sit together, inside. But there was also seating outside, with umbrellas. Staff all seem very friendly. Didn't experience any problems. Although we did struggle with the sound of the coffee machine, more than other costa's weirdly, we were struggling to hear each other at times. But would definitely visit again, due to staff all being friendly.

Usual Costa standards, great coffee and cake. Friendly service, currently has one toilet out of action and the other wasn't that clean.

Don't visit if they only have 30 minutes before they close as the staff are quite rude and abrupt as clearly don't want to serve you, best to go over the road to the cafe a better atmosphere more polite and alot cheaper.

Costa is very good if you want to go sit in for a nice drink,however they run out on supplys for some of the drinks really quickly,mainly the frostinos

This costa is only for school mums the fact it now doesn't open till 8am crazy for a coffee shop proves that if you work or want a coffee on the way to work the new opening times mean you need to visit Greggs very disappointed

A special thank you to Helen who went above and beyond for me, my friend and our two toddlers. Offering us a range of alternatives to croissants when they had sold out, getting us straws for the boys to drink their drinks easier and just being very friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service!

My local coffee shop choice, good polite service, can get busy and noisy with babies.

Have been using this Costa since it opened. The staff are always polite and friendly and remember what I drink, which is more can be said for me sometimes. The seating area is always being tidied/cleaned because there are some very inconsiderate customers who go in there. Well done guys/gals keep up the good work

Overall the Costa in Wickford is both clean and spacious. Nice to come when youre in a rush for a hot drink. All seasonal drinks are available too which is a plus!

Busy Costa Coffee in the middle of Wickford High Street. Plenty of seating. especially for singles/couples. Usual Cosa fare with friendly service.

Amazing place in wickford town centre, they sell coffee if the name doesn't give it away. Not sure if they sell Tea or Ovaltine. Not only can you sit in and watch people go in and out of the pound shop they also do take away coffee!

It has been a long time since I have been in a Costa Coffee Shop . There has been a few changes to the world of going out but at last a bit of normal life. It was well run by the three ladies there very polite and efficient , a good cleaning program after each customer.

My dad tried to go inside to get a coffee this morning but he has severe asthma and is medically exempt from wearing a face mask. he was clearly displaying the lanyard round his neck that says this. The people in costa refused to serve him without a mask. This is discrimination and it’s disgusting

Friendly staff... quick and efficient

Nothing special, only go here if other local businesses are too busy/queued to get in. It is exactly the same as all other Costa coffees - take that as a good or bad thing up to you

Standing outside for 1hour told tables would be pushed to together to accomade a table a 4, as one not available, decide to go takeaway instead only to find no food left in there,changed my mind and went to greggs

As it was a nice day we decided to have our drink outside. It was covered in litter -serviettes, sugar wrappers etc. There were the pigeons also making a mess which is of course nothing to do with the coffee shop. Having said that the drink was to the usual standard and the inside area on previous occasions has been fine.

Usual chain offering of food and drink. Visited on carnival day and managed to beat the rush. Ham and cheese panini hit the spot as did iced latte. However, for someone with reduced hearing the noise levels became unbearable when carnival ended. Some form of acoustic sound deadening is required to give a more relaxing atmosphere.

Love this place, like a second home, very friendly staff. 17.20 and still busy, two lovely members of staff working hard and still greeting as usual with smiles and knowing exactly what I want to drink. Lots of jobs to do but nothing is ever too much trouble. My kinda coffee shop 💜

Can't fault our visits to Costa Coffee. We always have a lovely cuppa whether it's coffee of my hubby with his tea. We have always had good experience with the food and cakes too.

Mid-week lunch: there are some basics you expect. The toastie and coffee were good. The length of time waiting for a coffee acceptable. The dirty tables, even after they had been cleared, were not. Basics- take a clean cloth with you to clear a table and wipe it at the same time. A smile from someone serving wouldn’t go amiss as well.

Coffee is better than Starbucks, not a high bar though as Starbucks tastes like diarrhea mixed with severed limbs and urine.

Nice new costa conversion ofca previous retail space. Large seated area out the back for dogs, smoking etc. Nice clean toilets , lots of very helpful staff

After doing our shopping in Wickford & we fancy a break we usually go into Costa for a good cup of coffee & one of their lovely cakes. The staff there are nice & friendly & the cafe is nice & snug & their items are reasonably priced, well worth a visit.

friendly staff, didn't have to wait to long for food, tables cleared away quickly. The Barista was mesmerising to watch, she was fast, efficient and knew which order went to which customer, all with a smile on her face

Popular meeting place and can be busy at times. Excellent range of snacks and drinks. Staff pleasant and helpful. Alone or with family/friends, a nice place to sit and watch the world go by, or sit in the quiet outdoor area behind the main room.
