Noak Bridge in Basildon

Was so hopeful this would be a great pub as the reviews were mostly ok. First impressions very large bar area that seemed more like a social club than a pub full of locals who all knew each other. The food area was behind the bar area and there was only one other table eating which surprised me as the food is meant to be amazing. We went up order or food snd drinks from the bar we ordered two glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon She proceeded to pull two bottles from under the counter both with about two inches in maybe less, she filled one glass finishing both bottles and said “we only have one glass”☹️ so we asked for a Merlot which came out of a full bottle. Well the Cabernet Sauvignon was undrinkable it must have been off I took it back and said I can’t drink this she replied “yeah I know” The food was completely edible and nice, my only complaint was the cauliflower cheese had very little cheese or just white sauce. The beef on the menu said pink it was far from pink, was well done. I had turkey and it was very tasty, the roast potatoes were excellent as were the Yorkshires Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy the atmosphere and ambience and the fact we ate in an empty restaurant so we won’t be going .

Five stars for the lovely customer service, the waitress's were attentive and helpful, especially Zena;the kids lover the attention she gave them. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The roast was all good and the kids lapped up the deserts. Great venue if you want to watch the football and keep and eye on the kids in the playarea. Very nice facilities our meals and drinks for 2 adults and four kids came to around £60, very affordable. Highly reccomended

Visited previously (when Prince of Wales & Noak Bridge) but been a while and since we got a dog we have visited more often. The first dog visit was on Monday 07th October 2024 found the pub very welcoming, and appreciated the options to purchase chicken and sausage. Since then we have visited day and night (we were due to spend NYE here but had our booking cancelled as the pub made it a ticketed affair) and enjoyed the service and atmosphere. Looking forward to visiting and enjoying the garden in the summer months. I tend to order on the GreenKing app and note the absence of the coffee and cake from stock, it appears in winter even if it remains on the app.

It was good but the drinks are quite pricey but the food was really good

Lovely friendly pub with a great atmosphere. You can get great food either as a main or as sides to have with your drinks. Staff are very friendly and do their best to make your visit a pleasant one.

Been coming here for about a year now bar staff are lovely crystal is a credit to the pub always happy to see us cheap beer and cider and the salt and pepper chicken is the best dish they do my new local

Just been down to the noak for the first time in a while for my 21st Birthday, service was perfect and still had an amazing atmosphere, would definitely recommend for a friendly drinks with mates and will be back again 100% 🎉🎉

Came in here as a group of 12, and the staff couldn't be any more accommodating. James Was super friendly, told us about upcoming events. Music was very good and the Katsu curry was amazing, like the best. We're moving to the area and this will defiantly be our new local pub! It has such a nice atmosphere you feel right at home.

We were unhappy with the wait to get out drinks. We ordered on the app and after 20 minutes of waiting, a member of our party had to go to the bar to chase them up. The lady said she was about to do them. (She had been standing and chatting) When mentioned about her wait, she starred at the clock and did not apologise. She later brought them to the table with a lot of attitude and no customer service. When we asked for a glass for our bottled drinks, she stormed off and returned them, plonking them on the table and glarring at a member of the party. We were a family of 5 with 2 young teens and were not loud or rude. We felt unwelcome. The young waitress who brought our food out however, could not have been kinder.

Lovely pub, great staff and atmosphere, especially manager James, he was attentive and very polite and accommodating towards myself and my family. Food and prices were great! Would definitely come back again.

Been coming to this pub for over 25 years the food is excellent and the staff is super. The drinks is also reasonably priced . I highly recommend this place for food and drinks .

Lovely local pub, does try and do a lot of things for everyone so worth checking if West Ham are playing on the night that karaoke is on and not booking a table with dog and the Christmas menu at the same time. It could be that half the pub has also been rented for a birthday! Green King food and love the IPA hot sauce. Sometimes have a kilo of chicken wings on the menu which is an absolute bargain. Often have guest ales but check at the bar they are still on.

Fantastic pub brilliant manager went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a good experience on New Year’s Eve spent time with each and everyone of his customers and made it such a enjoyable experience for us all. James is a credit to the pub and it wouldn’t be such a pleasure without him. He would go above and beyond for anyone of his customers.

All good - speedy service on a busy lunchtime - food excellent.

A group of us went there for our annual Christmas meal (2 weeks before Christmas). Waited 1 hour for the starters to arrive and six of them couldn’t be supplied because they got the preorder wrong. We then waited 2 hours for the main course to arrive! To be fair, it wasn’t bad and there was plenty of it. We cancelled the desert order because of the timing. Shame it went so wrong this time as we meet up at the pub every month and have never had an issue in the past. Guess it was a bad day and boy was it bad.

Unfortunately I did not eat and this was my first time here but the staff were fantastic and the atmosphere was brilliant. I would recommend here anytime.

Love this pub my friends and I meet regularly for a meal the staff are lovely and the manager is s diamond geezer ! Just had a birthday meal tonight 3 ladies over 60 and we were treated like royalty

friends get together, the welcome was warm. Seated in a nice corner area and the seating is not too crammed together, so you do not feel too close to other diners. A good menu and lots of special offers to make the value really good. All of our food was lovely. The staff are really friendly and service efficient. I highly recommend a visit

Typical out of London Greene King. Easy food and drinks but the atmosphere was ruined by football watchers. Very loud and distracting. Food was basic but good.

The saying goes. Each to there own, very noisy. Service was poor. waitress didn't pickup cutlery with our food, she went back twice.only a fork then she went back for the knife.

Excellent bar service. Didn't have food, but what I saw looked good and well presented. Polite and efficient staff with a huge selection of beers and ciders.

I visited The Green Lantern Pub, and it was an exceptional experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with rustic decor that perfectly complemented the lively vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.

The lunch was lovely, I had the cheese burger with fries and soft drink for £7.49 which was IMHO good value. The staff are friendly, courteous and quick, I'll be coming here again.

Dont bother ordering a hot drink with your lunch or dinner because you’ll get one quicker if you bring your own cow to milk, coffee beans and light a fire by rubbing sticks together… Greene King pubs always prioritise ’bar service’, but how is that fair when i order a drink with my meal and then have to wait an hour for it to not even arrive, thankfully i got a refund but thats not the point, if I order a coffee I obviously want it with my meal not later on, wheres the customer service??

Usually they are good with the service they provide however tonight the orders cooked was incorrect and many people waited over 1 hour for there food of which most of the time was brought out wrong When pointed out the staff was rude about it towards the customers, me included.

Love this place! Staff very helpful and friendly, extremely accommodating to allergies. Could actually eat and enjoy my food without having to worry and feel like I'm being a pain. Highly recommended 👌🏼 😊✨️

Great sized portion, very friendly staff, worth a visit

Sorry to say that the service tonight was appalling. I know they were overwhelmed because of the European final but to wait 2 hours for a bowl of chips when other people that had ordered after me got theirs. When I asked where our chips were was told the kitchen was now shut. Normally service is top notch. Just a shame that tonight it was so poor. The result didn't help either. Not their fault though.

Came to watch the football last minute and was welcomed by friendly staff and a very accommodating manager despite it being quite busy. First time we've been out in ages with our 3 kids, 10, 8 & 4 and they were entertained by the kids play area which resulted in 2 relaxed parents! Great atmosphere and great service.

We were a large family group here for a Birthday Meal. The food was lovely, served quickly, by friendly staff and reasonably priced. The pub was really quiet and after the meal we went into the garden so the children could play in the quite large play area. The play area was the main attraction of this pub for us …. As our usual favourite pub has a much smaller playground and the older children have outgrown it. It’s a sad reflection on some of todays parents…. When they seem to consider letting their children smash glasses on purpose a method of entertainment. Equally so those adults who throw their cigarette butts on the grass and leave them there ! We would have stayed for much longer had it not been for the toddler forever wanting to pick up said cigarette butts… and the older children constantly looking out for broken glass. NOT A REFLECTION ON THE PUB … but sadly some of their customers !

Was a wonderful experience. I went out with my friends for dinner and all the staff was very warm and welcoming. The food looked and tasted amazing, complements to the chefs that were working that night. Overall was a very pleasant experience. Plan on taking my mum here for her birthday.

Our Meals were Lovely... The Service was Excellent... The only very annoying thing is the Flies. All the time we were there we were constantly flapping Flies away...trying to eat and keep the Fly away. Frustrating. Even Flies around Bar area. I did tell Barman, he apologised and said they do have stuff in place to try and eliminate them.

Decent menu and wide range of drinks and it was quite busy. On the day, they didn't seem to have enough staff on, so there were delays getting the food. Not the cheapest place around but it's nice enough and they have some cheaper options during the week and for lunch

Great service all round! Food is nice and worth the price you pay for it. Kids get to have a run around in the play area out back which helps us parents to relax, maybe a slight up keep on the play area would help but thumbs 👍

Great service from all staff, we had a big meeting of family that had never met, we were at the pub for over 8 hours and all of the staff were friendly accommodating and helpful. Lovely food, relaxed atmosphere will return again as you welcome dogs too not many pubs do that these day. Thank you for making put day so stress free and enjoyable 😉

Great pub for sports, family and food... And now with the sun out the experience is even better. Came in for a pint and ended up ordering food as the dishes coming out looked really good. We were incredibly well looked after by the staff especially Graham. The signature burger is enormous and really tasty. And the sirloin steak was perfectly served and really tasty especially with the beef dripping and merlot sauce. We paired that with cold ciders on the patio in the sun while the kid jumped into the playground and had a great afternoon. Thanks to the team, well impressed.

Quiz Night at the Noak Bridge pub. Can get a bit chaotic, but the staff are keen and helpful. Food is varied and well prepared, but they could have a few more vegan options (hello Greene King). Very dog friendly as long as they are calm and well behaved.

Meal was fine but the cost of a pint of IPA was £4.95 when the same pint a few miles away in Wickford, in the same chain, is £3.12. Seems extortionate considering the pubs are very similar. Also don’t appreciate dogs being allowed in the restaurant when you’re eating.

Visted to catch up with family, wished we had checked as football was on, pub was extremely busy and noisy. Upon ordering drinks at the bar I ordered a mock tail which was basically fizzy pop, not an.umbrella or garnish in site and at around £4 I wish I had just ordered lemonade. There were 5 of us, food was slow to arrive at the table but plates were warm and the food was ok for pub grub, burgers particularly good, portions not massive. The worst thing about the pub for me was the state of the toilets, locks on doors broken, toilet roll dispensers broken, why they put a sign up to say toilets were checked regularly ill never know, the garden area was scruffy too, just a little bit of love would make this a much nicer pub.

Graham was the perfect host and such a lovely person, happy and chatty, will definitely come back, will try their 3 small plates next time

First time I had eaten here. They squeezed us in as we didn’t have a booking. We were served by Graham. He was amazing. Super friendly. Done his absolute best and generally thought he was a manager with how great he was. Also food was delicious

Thank you to everyone for their hard work yesterday and for letting us use the restaurant for my husbands 50th. The food was fantastic and plentiful, the area worked out great and the music later on made it a real party. The guy who brought the food out was always smiling and that makes such a difference to everything. Ample parking, kids play area clean and safe. Busy bar but good to see people are out given the current hard times. Once again thank you very much to everyone who was involved with our booking ❤️

Went to the Noak to meet friends for a birthday, had an area just for us, DJ was good, pub DJ not private hire, bar staff efficient and friendly, definitely a return to place. Buffet food provided by pub, all looked and tasted good... allowed lit candles on cake, some places don't! Pleasant evening in a pleasant place

Went for my birthday 🎂 had dinner and some drinks with family. Great atmosphere 👌 and the staff were very friendly 👏. I've that you can bring dogs 🐕 here too as we brought ours and tgey serve food for them too. 😀 better roast dinners than Toby carvery for sure.

A lovely pub and their normal menu offers lovely food however, I would advise against anyone ordering the Sunday roast. The meat is gorgeous and the Yorkshire puddings are nice however, everything else was a complete let down. The potato's had no colour to them and were not soft and fluffy like you'd expect. The stuffing was bland and chewy, the biga in blanket was too well done and dry and the veg was undercooked in my opinion. Overall the roast was a 4 out of 10. Although the roast was a let down, the pub has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very friendly!

Graham was exceptional from start to finish - we had a couple of young children and nothing was too much for Graham and the whole team!
