Having read the very few bad reviews here I wonder if they were describing the right cafe! Their reviews do not reflect my experiences. I have been using this cafe regularly for a number of years. I sometimes come in with my friends for brunch on a Monday and with my wife and inlaws on a Sunday. I have yet to have a bad meal or poor service. On the very rare occasion we have had an issue it has been corrected straight away. The service is personal and great. They serve the best breakfast in Essex. My inlaws always eat the same thing, as they enjoy it so much. Great food and great value for money.

Wow, what a lovely little hidden gem. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food is amazing and reasonably priced, also very clean. Will definitely be returning!

What a place. Hash brown and egg baguette was top notch.

Bright and clean, pleasant, friendly staff. So much choice of food, lovely hot chocolate. Eat inside or out. We visit twice weekly, also sell bread and rolls to buy. Highly recommend.

Locally run cafe with very good menu lots of choice and special children's menu, when weather permits additional tables and chairs are put outside, the cafe is well staffed and very clean, can get busy at times so this confirms how popular this cafe is

Doorsteps is a wonderful cafe with very friendly and polite staff! Every time I have come here, I always feel welcome and comfortable. There is a big variety of food, ranging from sandwiches, chips, jacket potatoes, a full English breakfast and much more. Regardless if you’re eating healthily or not, there are tons of options on the menu that cater to everyone. All of the food is very reasonably priced too. The cafe is very clean, and the staff are very efficient at making sure the tables are clean after a customer has left. I usually come here a few times a week as I work at the school just opposite. My lunch break is only thirty minutes so when I first came here, I was worried I wouldn’t have time to eat. Whenever I order, it never takes any longer than 10-15 minutes to get the food. The service here is always efficient, regardless of how many customers are there and is all in all a wonderful place to enjoy your meal.

Great food, decent portions and a fair price. Staff are polite and the place is spotless. Always busy every time I’ve been there which is a good sign. The menu offers a good range of options to satisfy your tastebuds. Highly recommend this place if it’s a proper fry up you’re after!👍👍

A good out-of the way cafe in traditional sense. Parking very close by for vans and cars.

Different price every time but get same sandwich, always something not right as they didn't listen to what I want. Sandwich very dry lacking on filling had 2bits of onion and 1 lettuce leaf and 3 tiny bits of chicken. Will not use again as I can make a better sandwich and probably for less money. Had breakfast last week cost £30 me and my children had eaten our full breakfast and my other daughter still hadn't got her tuna cheese melt sandwich. Seems like a lot of stuff standing about doing nothing having a chat no one communicating with orders.

The food is ok, not in best I've had. Reasonable prices and portions are good. The liver and bacon is the one to have👌🏻

Not very clean. Service wasn't great and these people would not know a Spanish omelette if one came and smacked them round the face. Will not be returning

A spacious, bright and clean cafe with a great choice of menu items, the portions are very generous for money and not dripping in fat. The staff were friendly, and it was good to see them sanitising the tables and menus as we left… Another place to add to our cafes to visit again list when we are next in the area.

Went in about 1/2 before they closed, there was no issue with cooking some bacon and the rolls were really fresh

I ordered 4 Bacon rolls to take away, i was asked to wait outside, just under 30 mins later order arrived, i was freezing cold with waiting, poor customer service, never using again.

I stumbled across this little gem after having a hospital appointment and was looking for somewhere to have a bite to eat before heading home. There was plenty of free parking, a good choice of food including all day breakfasts as well as healthy options like omelettes, jacket potatoes and freshly made sandwiches. The cafe was clean and tidy and all Covid rules and regulations were in place and the staff were cheerful and friendly. I will definitely be paying this place another visit when passing through.

Worst breakfast I’ve ever had. After a 25 minute wait for the food to arrive we noticed straight away the mushrooms were completely raw, sent back. Came back cooked but soaked in oil!Sausages fit for vegetarians not a trace of meat in sight and they looked like they just came out the microwave.Physically couldn’t eat the bacon it had the strangest bitter taste to it. Overall an absolute disaster of a breakfast.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

This is the second time I have visited this cafe, the first time it was ok but the second time it was awful, I was served cold snotty eggs. cheap undercooked sausages nearly raw mushrooms and soggy half cook chips it was awful the only good thing about the breakfast was the thick-sliced bread and the can of coke

Seen so many good reviews locally that we thought we would try it for breakfast-will never visit again!Wasn’t particularly busy (3 tables occupied on arrival) yet we had to wait 40 minutes for 2 sausage and egg sandwiches, a full breakfast and an omelette! When it did eventually arrive, all the eggs were undercooked, the mushrooms in the omelette where raw and food overall was unnecessarily greasy! Much better places to eat locally!!

Love this cafe. I would recommend as best place in Laindon to get a fry up. For little over £6 you get the full monty, their biggest breakfast on the menu. Service is good. The cafe is always impeccably clean unlike other 'greasy spoons' and the food is always consistently great. Plus huge selection of other food. Family friendly and they have outdoor seating for those who smoke.

A very clean, traditional cafe! The food was so well prepared. A nice place to sit and have a breakfast on a lazy Sunday while reading a paper. We will be back here for sure!

Local cafe amongst the houses, it sits amongst a small parade of shops.

Used Trip Advisor to find as needed somewhere to eat after a visit to the hospital. Very light, clean and spacious cafe. Mum had cheesy chips which were lovely. I had a maxi breakfast which included 1 extra choice. It was lovely bacon and fresh mushrooms, as well as a tasty sausage. Dad had a jacket potato with beans and coleslaw. The potato was very small and the coleslaw not very pleasant. Tea and coffee was good.

Love this cafe. Popped in for a bit of brunch and as always had a good experience. Freshly cooked food with a smile and a chat. My friend used to own this cafe and I helped with some of the work whilst in was being refurbished and it is still in good shape with good food. Try it out. Enjoy.

Found this place on Yell and it was well worth the visit Full Monti is an all day breakfast meaning it will last you all day! Good value for money and a very clean cafe in a little shopping precinct highly recommend it

Excellent menu choice and tasty food. Light and airy café and the staff are lovely. There are newspapers and magazines to look at while you are waiting. They also sell bread plus cards and gift bags.

This is a simple, quality cafe that provides cafe-sytle (e.g.ham, egg and chips, tea and cakes etc) great food at a great price.
