We went to 'The Westbourne' for their Christmas day lunch and it was the best xmas lunches out we have ever had in our lives. The pub was beautifully decorated throughout and also had decorations, crackers etc. on all the tables. The cheerful service given by all their staff was faultless and raised the 'bar of excellence' to a new level. For starter we had the venison pate and toast and the scallops and peas etc. which were delicious. a glass of prosecco was waiting on arrival which was nice. Also had a large glass of their scrumpcious malbec which can thoroughly recommend. For mains their full Christmas lunch was fantastic, a full plateful of delicious food and to follow their brandy christmas pud and icecream. The management their do a phenominal job there and the staff are simply amazing, they fully deserve a '6 Star' review! We wan't to already book for next year!

Fav pub in London. Had the steak on my last visit which was pretty good. Pricey, not that much meat, but good. Chilled vibe and fun crowd. Good mix of people.

I was visiting London the weekend of March 17th, and I went to The Westbourne several times during that time. The reason I came back so often was that the place is just excellent. Great décor, wonderful atmosphere and an extremely friendly and cordial staff. The best part is the food. Luigji, who is the head chef, is an artist. Everything I ordered was spectacular. Very well prepared and excellently presented. I highly recommend The Westbourne to anyone, whether local or travelling. This place will leave you with the warm and fuzzies. I definitely plan to go back anytime I am visiting Londo

Nice pub, however the staff are rude and not very helpful. Was visiting for the weekend dropped in for food at 325 pm. The kitchen closes at 330 and they won’t take a food order even though they gave us a menu. They couldn’t even eat something in the microwave, poor service, poor staff, nice location.

Westbourne Tavern is a Pub... well it looks like one and it is one of the hidden gems of Notting hill since it is placed at 10 min walking distance from Portobello road. Westbourne is great for food and drinks when it is sunny and when it is raining. When it is sunny someone can sit on the garden and enjoy a drink or 2 before having Lunch. When it is raining it is lovely to be inside the pub. Drinks are ok but what it makes it special is its food. Westbourne offers a number of traditional British Plates such as Roast Beef, etc but also a number of Greek/Mediterranean plates such as Seabream with Lentils, Greek Traditional Salad and Greek Mezes but with a British twist to be accepted by the rest of the people. Definitely a lovely place to spend Sundays whatever the weather is... please try to book in advance since the place inside is quite small.

Booked for a Friday evening meal at short notice. It was very busy & noisy but the food was top notch. We came away feeling satisfied & happy if a little deaf :-) The best moment apart from the food was an old English sheep dog wandering from table to table. We are dog lovers.

Organised my birthday drinks here!! They did everything to make me feel welcomed, service couldn’t of been better. Nice place to hang out with friends for drinks. Had some good bar snacks including a great scotch egg, definitely worth trying. Always worth a visit when in west London!

Although a Monday evening and a cold one, it was a nice experience. We ate the lamb and the fish stew, both tasty. The stew was spicy and a large portion with chunks of fish and mussels. The apple crumble was fine with the interesting vanilla ice cream. The service was easant and helpful.

A small group of friends wanted a chilled afternoon in Notting Hill & decided upon The Westbourne. This used to be one of West London’s “Go 2” places back in the day. I should know, I lived there. Gone is the cool vibe this bar was known for. In it’s place, a rude staff (which wears thin) & a lack of ambiance. Shame…

I visited this pub last week , I am very disappointed with the visit I felt like I was over charged also was followed by a staff member who was very rude and started a argument with me not impressed at all very unprofessional felt very uncomfortable.

Tried a bloody mary and their crab, chilli linguine. Both were lush. TV hidden behind large picture above a fireplace. Outside area had nice seating in the late autumn sun. Toilets are neglected

Viby spot for drinks. Lots of foreigners / expats. Big terrace outside. Solid kitchen. A local favourite.

Been here before. Busy as usual with the usual decent locals on this Saturday evening. A pint for £8.10 should justify a much better gentlemen toilets which are a disgrace. Being retro or old fashioned style didn’t mean filthy. Staff don’t care !!

Lovely west London gastropub. We sat outside on a nice sunny Sunday. The staff were friendly and attentive making sure we had everything we needed. The food was well presented and the portions were a decent size. Some of us had the Sunday roast and found it was a good one. I had the crab linguine which was delicious - crab not being overpowered by the chilli and parsley. The desserts were classics - brownies, Eton mess, peach tart - all good. The only criticism that I have is that the wine list is too ‘new world wine’ with heavy reds and not much to choose from other than those.

Very traditional old pub but with the added bonus of a great terrace that they can literally open up the whole front of the pub too. Good selection of drinks and the food looked fab. Only slightly negative was the smell of chip fat inside ... especially near the toilets. Not sure would want a table in vicinity of that.!

Kom tilfeldigvis forbi denne puben i akkurat passe tid til lunsj. Typisk nabolagspub for familier og turister som oss. Vi hadde ikke så store forventninger til maten, men ble veldig overrasket over god pasta.Hyggelig betjening, litt slitent lokale, men alt i alt en god opplevelse.

In the heart of Notting Hill, great Terrace, great food and beautiful people. The pint of prawns is so delicious when drinks with a pint of beer.

This is a classic looking West London pub: no two wooden chairs match, the walls are covered in an eclectic mixture of prints and posters, there’s the health noise of conversation and banter, the staff are friendly and quick to serve and there is a decent terrace to have an afternoon session on.

As locals we are spoilt for choice, time and again we go back to The Westbourne for great food, fab bar, amazing staff and a warm welcome. Love this place summer and winter. The relaxed atmosphere paired with simple tasty food has yet to find a rival in a crowded market of Notting Hill

I would like to be able to review this highly recommended Notting Hill pub, but I can’t. We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon, and the place was busy, but not enough to justify the absolute lack of interest the bar man had in serving us. Perhaps we were impossibly old for the vibe. For some reason, they were only serving in plastic, which was also offputting for a pub that claims to be beer friendly. We nipped around the corner to the Prince Bonaparte, which was lovely.

Nice in the summer to sit outside and eat, while drinking cold wine, looking at the Cow and thinking about going over for a Guinness as soon as you've finished lunch. Evenings are generally very busy in warm weather. Meet and chat and while away the long summer nights under the Westway. Old haunt of The Clash by all accounts.

I have been visiting The Westbourne for years and it never fails to impress me. In all those years it has never lost it's class and attention to detail when dealing with it's customers.

Wonderful automosphere made by the genuine and fun staff, rare to find a pub that the barmen help improve your night. Not pretentious but stylish, you feel at home, have sat here happily for hours.

Had a wonderful birthday for my wife on a Monday night with 15 of her friends at the Westbourne. They have a £10 special, every main is under £10 (all dishes were delicious) and is perfect for a birthday or any celebration. Good menu and wine list and the staff were all super friendly and attentive especially the manager who went out of his way to make our evening special. There was a great vibe and atmosphere so much so that we had another friends birthday there on the Friday night. I would highly recommend the Westbourne for any occasion especially summer days and evenings when you can sit outside.

As we were shown to our table the chef, who had been sitting at the table, made a big show of being annoyed that he was being moved!! Great start.

Fuimos a la Westbourne última semana con nuestros amigos, una de las cuales estaba muy embarazada. El personal cuando todo lo posible para tomar un cuidado extra especial de nosotros, especialmente Tany - y la comida era deliciosa. Recomiendo encarecidamente la placa hummus, sopa de champiñones y papas fritas. Era una tarde preciosa, y sin duda volveremos!

Un ottimo pub in cui mangiare pesce, sia che vi piaccia cucinato in modo semplice (ostriche e pinta di gamberi) sia che vogliate provare una cucina più speziata (cannolicchi grigliati). Eccellente anche la selezione di birre e dolci squisiti.

I have been going to the westbourne for many years. Every time I find myself thinking how lucky the management has been. The location and the outdoor space make the venue very popular especially on nice days. However, the drinks are overpriced and the service is one of the worst ever. Bar staff have an unbearable and unnecessarily rude attitude which is consistent at every visit. The food used to be quite good but it has gone significantly downhill on my last few visits.I will keep going because the atmosphere and the outdoor are nice. However the factors mentioned above always negatively affect the experience.

Return visit to this popular pub / restaurant. Oysters to start, then prawns and then an excellent steak and chips washed down with a pinot noir. Never had a bad meal here. Friendly service and good draught beers too.

What can I say, a variety of my favourite beer and a great Rioja that my girlfriend loves, a steak sandwich that reminds me of being back in Buenos Aires, a chef that talks you through what he is making you in the open kitchen, all while being in Notting hill. This place is rare

Great place with friendly staff and fantastic food! This is a little gem with an incredible outdoor space for Notting hill. There are a few stand out dishes to try like the Fish stew which I cannot get enough of!!! They also have a great appetiser – the glass of prawns which can get messy however absolutely delicious and a great idea – makes a difference to the other pubs where you see everyone with a portion of chips for the whole evening. On a fancy day go for the Oysters! The food is fairly priced especially compared to the other surrounding establishments in Notting Hill and the quality is of a high standard – I’m not sure who would visit any pub in the area and expect to have a cheap meal? The staff are an asset to the place – always smiling very chilled… I recommend making this a place to visit!Happy to have this as my local pub!!!

What a complete shame that the toilets in this place are probably the most revolting I have seen for a long time reminiscent of an old boozer in 1983. Why? No hot water, wet smelly floors and peeling paint work. That was the gents but my female guests said the ladies was equally as abysmal. Time for a refurb?

Wonderful Tuna salada dish I really enjoyed spot to the detail chef must have been inspired me with the food so I had a long stay even for another beer gamma ray honestly if you ever visit dont be shocked you can meet any celebrities... 15 out of 10

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner outside at Westbourne Tavern. The fish,pork chops, sausage and chicken nuggets were all excellent. The prune tart was my favorite!

A great pub beside Westbourne Park tube station .. With at least four real ales available .. A nice large airy pub and a reasonably priced menu ..

Really nice Pub to be considered as ones local. The decor is a mix between quirky, fun and old. The staff behind he counter aren't the friendliest, but the food is good. Popped in for a dinner with friends and the food was good for the price. Well flavoured and with a decent portion size. The menu options are good as well and has something for quite a few pallets. I will come again and order my next pint with a smile in the hope to get one back... lol despite that, we had a really good time.

Really nice food selection here and great vibe for chilling with some beer and food and friends! I ordered the stuffed mushrooms and chips. Their chips were surprisingly delicious.

I've been coming here for quite some time now and I've got to say the food was tip top on the spot. The sausages & mash and the cheese burger were just out of this world!! A must try. You will soon come to reflect on your cooking skills..

The food was excellent and I couldn't recommend it more, they have a great selection of beers on draft and lots of great food options for my table of 12 friends. Three of us dined at The Westbourne last night and had a great experience. It was a quiet evening but there was a good ambience and the service was superb. With a large terrace outside I can imagine that it is a lively venue on a busy night.We shared a mezzo which was fresh and delicious and plenty for a starter for three. There were several dishes on the menu that we could happily have chosen but we settled for a linguine with crab, cod with cannellini bean chorizo stew and I had pappardelle with wild mushroom.It would have been lovely to stay longer but with a train to catch it was a flying visit but definitely a venue we will return to.

Fabulous chef from Albania, preparing lovely risotto, chicken and Sunday roast dishes. Really great gastro-pub food at perfection! Service has also been improving lately, with a friendly also Albanian waitress. Highly tecommended for the entire family and a lazy afternoon lunch or brunch!

Our Sunday roast beef was rather bad, We would not order it a second time. The meet badly cooked, the potatoes as well...Also, the fact that we were charged service charge on the bill unlike other pubs of the same kind is a reason not to go back as the overall bill was not value for money.

My friends and I went for birthday dinner and drinks. They tried to charge the same dishes twice, we noticed this when they brought the last bill. My friend was pointing this out to them and the staff became rude and aggressive, the manager came, and to my surprise, he wasn't any better in terms of manners! eventually we scratched out everything we already paid for. It was a very bad experience. In addition there was a tension among staffs themselves, which made the atmosphere unbareable. I'm never going back to this place

Service fromSome of the team was ok - good bloody Mary's but when a member of our group ordered buffalo arrancini we expected arrancini - what we got was bocconcini but the chef still believed he was correct - I am a chef myself so we questioned his decision - the waitress told us we had to argue with the chef ourselves which we did and he still told us that the bocconcini on our plate was arrancini and therefore we had to pay for a new dish / then the manageress proceeded to glare at us from the bar giving us dirty looks and making remarks to colleagues - appalling service and such a shame - do not go as they don't have a clue

One of the best gastro pubs in Notting Hill. Always a nice atmosphere on Friday nights or during the day at the weekend. Great for drinks on the terrace outside and delicious food menu. I especially loved the steak. Good choice of wine and very reasonable prices for the area.

Great little place that's fairly off the beaten path but still gets buzzy and colourful with locals on a Friday night. Slightly pricier than you'd expect!

Lovely place and staff. The place with high ceiling does not seem to have been modernised. Kitchen on the show open. Delicious food, specially daily special and sticky toffee pudding (best one ever in my 20 years here)

compared to the other pubs this one is more stylish and sometimes a bit pretentious. big posters on the walls, tables outside and good drinks. a nice way to spend an hour or two chatting with friends.

Wonderful atmosphere with a Pint of Becks served in a plastic glass, served by a very pleasant bar person was my first impression . Now can you tell me why the toilets are the dirtest I have EVER experienced. I was shocked and physically turned by the state of these. I actually visited this pub 3 times during my vist and the 3 times they were appalling. No hand towels and a stench that was vile. This pub is well known for this apparently. Sort it out. Unacceptable.

The Westbourne Tavern certainly looks nice with it's open courtyard on a sunny, summer day. Unfortunately, that's about the only nice thing I can say about it. Stopped in with some time to kill, ordered a pint of a beer I didn't really recognize, and was immediately charged £7. I'll admit it took me aback for a second because I never in my life thought any place could charge £7 for a pint, and I live here. I involuntarily said "Wow!" to the bartender and she immediately looked at me like I was the biggest idiot in the world and pointed to the sign on the wall. I wasn't contesting the price, just expressing my utter, gob-smacking surprise at such an egregious over-charge for a pint. So anyway, my observation, and it seems to be shared by many below, is that this is a place to be avoided, on the one hand for the prices and on the other for the service.

Great place set up for all four seasons. Big open indoor area with about 15 tables, and a sweeping outdoor porch for summertime eating/drinking. Great crowd and the drinks were reasonable!!

Work very close to hear and lots of colleagues recommend it. Came here on a hot sunny day which was perfect as the outdoor seating area is ideal. Recommend the Eggs Benedict and the Prawns are fantastic too. Decent selection of ales and service very friendly and fast.

Been going to this place on and off for many years now, the food has always been very good here. The baked Cod with Cesear Salad is top drawer. I also like that they do either a fresh Prawns by the pint or by the half pint, this is great to have on any menu as a light lunch, they also have other light bites and less stodge. More Gastro pubs should consider this and offer the same!! The staff are a bit hit and miss and generally don't seem to be well managed yet they do the job and it works. All in all it's a good place to have drinks (good selection of beers and wines) and excellent food, made especially better when sitting on the large outside area with the Sun shining on!

Enjoy the location and the environment just minutes away walking from Queensway or Portobello. Very quiet area, perfectly set for a relaxing evening drink with your friends. In case You are somewhat hungry, go for the pint of prawns, olives or cheese.

We are our first meal in London at the Westbourne with mixed success. My wife had pork which liked greatly however I ordered steak and came to the conclusion that it was not a good choice in this country. Service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere made it enjoyable to a point.

Nice high ceilings, nicely busy on a Friday but not rammed. Then the bar maid gives me a nice pint of Brooklyn larger in a plastic cup. All that work to make the place look pretty and inviting, and importing beers from across the world and they do that! No thanks. Buy some glasses I'm sure this pub can afford it.

I having meeting with important client, who base near W2. We agree to meet for lunch at the Westbourne, and arriving at 1pm. Despite the bar being almost empty, we waiting at the bar for over five minutes until we serve - some staffs are hanging around doing nothings while we wait. Finally having got our drink and place order for 2 Egg Bennidick we find table and sit down. Gods knowing what they were do with the food but it not brought out for us until 2.15, despites us chase this with the staffs on two occaisons. Maybe they waiting for the egg to be laid?I would not recommend this place to peoples unless they have a long time to waste, and have eaten before going.Very bad.Love Samuarte

The staff is very rude, especially when you try to make an order and they keep talking to each other. After messing with my order they tried to blame me in front of my friends. If I were the owner of this place I would be really worried about the way the staff manages this place. I personally saw different people giving up after waiting for a drink. Food is pre cooked and not very good, I can definitely suggest many other places nearby much better than that. They won't see me once again for sure.

This place gets packed in the summer, and is full of posers which can be fun but also boring after a few visits. The food is ok, come for jugs of Pimms in the summer and good for big groups of friends.

Perfect for a weekday meal. I enjoyed the calf's liver, which was prepared incredibly well. The well priced burgundy red was fab and all my dinner mates were happy too. Noisy but fun, definitely.

In effetti a Londra sia i Pub che i ristoranti, non spiccano per qualcosa che ti rimanga a mente in modo particolare. Va bene se non si è troppo selettivi.

Admittedly just in for drinks at a random time of the day on a Tuesday however incredible to be served a pint without the barman uttering one word to me! Staff littered around the tables with little to no concern of people walking up to the bar and daring to order a drink. Décor needs a tidy up particularly the loos. I guess in the summer it must be fun outside!

Pretty standard fare at the Westbourne. Lovely in the evening for a beer in the sun, but not amazing food. In a fairly dicey part of NH, too. Overall, worth a pint or nine on a Sunday as the sun goes down, but eat elsewhere.

Pub in zona residenziale, stile classico, abbastanza affollato quindi non facile trovare posto (almeno all'interno). Non tanto da dire se non che per la prima volta ho visto mangiare i gamberetti sorseggiando una birra...l'ho visto fare a diverse persone, evidentemente è la specialità del posto! :)

This part of London abounds in places like this: pubs where they want to serve you ok wine and ok food and charge you more than it all really deserves.As these places go this isn't too bad. I like the fact it's all in one big room and my pork belly was pretty good. The service is less surly than in other similar places.

When the sun is out there is only one place to head ! The Westbourne ! Good buzz, lots of people, nice selection of wine and beers. Food is solid pub grub. Service is OK (not bad, not great). A nice place for the locals to hang out and for non-locals to visit and question what the allure is !

This pub gets chaotic on sunny days, so expect slow service and a crowded bar and outdoor area.The food itself isn't bad, it's just overpriced for what it is, definately better to be had in many of the places nearby.Service wise it's the sort of place you'll only get hired if you have a hangover, so keep your expectations low. The crowd is very boho Notting Hill, with all the good and bad stuff you would expect from that.My advice would be have a drink here when the sun is shining and then pop over the road to somewhere they actually like customers.

I felt like a local after the first 5 minutes - after the next hour, I was considering moving to London just so the Westbourne Tavern could BE my local! Friendly bantering staff, great food - pork belly was fabulous, funky music, relaxed buzzing atmosphere, comfy chairs inside and large outdoor area to sit in the sun.Ages ranged from trendy young things flitting about, to old blokes having a yarn over a beer. We checked out the other 'gastropubs' in the area, and nothing even came close.

This overpriced pretentiousness is exactly why London gets a bad rep. There's nothing to be pretentious about - unless you are impressed by Chelsea wannabes.The bar staff are beyond rude - cursing and huffing when you order a diet coke, and charging the minimum card payment without consulting you first. Awful, awful service and people. The food is passable, and unless you're starving with a hankering for bad attitude - find somewhere else.

Ok, we had lunch at the overpriced gastro pub called Bumpkin last weekend, but if we knew how fantastic the food at Westbourne Tavern was-we would have walked the extra few hundred meters in the rain!Excellent menu and choices, buzzing locals, funky staff who know their place and helpful without being annoying or overly attentive.Thank god there are still places where common since exists and feels like a proper old local.
