Recently celebrated my wedding night here, what a beautiful venue, honestly they couldn't do enough for you, the staff were so amazing, Sean who is in charge of the hospitality side is amazing. My day was absolutely awesome I couldn't fault a single thing, all my guests loved it and we all had an epic night. Thank you for making a bride and grooms night so special you all smashed it. 10/10 would recommend

Had booking, got reminder the day before, arrived to find no trace of the restaurant! Nothing! Phone not connected- the least they could have done is have a phone message or put something on their website! ! It seems it’s been closed for several months too- why send a reminder the day before?

The place is very nice and the waiters are very friendly, they asked us about allergies. We only tried the fish and chips and it was very good. It is a bit expensive but with the 50% fork discount it is even cheaper than other places. I would definitely recommend it.

Booked for 4 people well in advance using my Groupon voucher for the 11th July. When we arrived it was closed. We had no contact from them only a message on the door when we arrived stating they were closed. We travelled up from Kent expecting to have to have a lovely meal however we had to rush around looking for somewhere else for a meal. This is not what you expect from a London restaurant. I've seen over reviews that say the restaurant has been closed since the 5th July.

We were looking forward to trying St martin’s house for the first time and reserved well in advance. We received a reminder a few days before but arrived to find it closed at short notice. Disappointing they didn’t let us know and difficult to find somewhere else at short notice. Needless to say we won’t try again.

Had a reservation for dinner on July, 8th, and then were shocked when we got to the restaurante and it was closed!! Since the restaurant has our email and data contact, can’t understand how they did not send us an email or a text warning us of such event. I advice everybody to not make a reservation here if you want to have your expected meal

Lovely looking venue and great location that has such potential. Service was nice too. However the food was a let down. It’s hugely overpriced for the quality. Luckily we had a 50% voucher which made it just about acceptable but it would’ve been £20 for a dry burger or £16 for a salad with no dressing which is just too much. It was also half empty; considering the location it should be buzzing! My thoughts are people see the prices and don’t bother. It’s a shame as there’s such potential.

We ordered scotch egg and crab fir starters, expected a runny yolk for the scotch egg, but it was something average. Crab was served on sliced brown bread instead of brioche as stated on menu. Roast was nice. Creme brulee had burnt sugar hidden by Icing sugar and runny custard below the sugar. Service was average. Overall not horrendous but not great either

This is the second worse meal we have ever had. I will start on the positive that the crab starter was fresh and good but the French onion soup came in a small bowl stuffed with so much cut up bread and gruyere cheese that the onion soup got lost and soaked up. My Lancashire hotpot resembled nothing like a hotpot. It came on a skillet with potatoes on the side instead of on top as traditional and had been sitting under a heat lamp so that the top of the lamb was burned a dark brown and the pototoes stuck to the skillet. The seasonal veg were a few squares of carrot maybe from a tin. The lamb was tasteless and inedible so did not eat it My wife's stone bass came in a soup bowl swimming in a tasteless veloute sauce also inedible for her. It looked good but was not. Did not eat. We were eventually offered replacement mains but declined. The sorbets for dessert were not piquant but the treacle pudding was okay though not home made. The house Merlot wine was pleasant. We had seen photos of the restaurant which looked cozy and romantic. The ground floor looked nothing like the photo so I asked the surly receptionist if this was the only part where we could dine and she said it was. We were seated at a tiny table next to a sliding door which opened to the patio where drinkers were seated and staff and customers kept passing by our table all night through that door. When we looked up we saw another dining area in a gallery above our heads. When we asked the manager why we had not been seated there, we were told they were short staffed but noted others had been seated up there after we had arrived. We checked out the gallery and that was the photo we had seen. A lovely dining area. The manager told us they could not move us up there or our order would get confused as it had a table number attached. The manager did his best with the staff shortage and did offer us free cocktails ro try to make up for our displeasure at the quality of food and our seating. He also offered to upgrade us if we came again. The menu description looked fantastic on line and we were up for a fine dining, romantic experience but the full prices are exhorbitant for the quality of the food on offer and where we were stuck was anything but romantic. Luckily we were on a Groupon offer. If you are paying full price, you could dine for the same price at a Brasserie Blanc which offers fine dining at around the same price. It seemed very popular for cocktails so maybe that is what anyone going should stick to. Very disappointing. The worst meal ever was at a Chinese restaurant in Hartlepool!

Next to the toilets, upstairs, that's were the sauces were kept. Did not have smaller cuttlery for children (could have been dessert cutlery, but was not a possibility). Found this restaurant on Groupon. I was surprised to find vouchers were valid on a Friday evening as I thought this venue would be at its busiest but booked ahead and got a table for two. On arrival we were given the option to sit grounf floor of down stairs. Ground floor was not too busy, but we headed downstairs. Very roomy there and perhaps lacking the busy atmosphere, but quite comfortable. Dinner was three course. After selecting a bottle of wine the starter dishes arrived quickly. I tried Cornish Crab and my wife had Scotch Egg. Both very good. Mains were Braised Ox Cheek for me and Moules for my wife. Both Delicious. We finished off with Brioche Bread Pudding and a Sticky Toffee Pudding. Both excellent. A service charge was added on top of the voucher price I had already paid, I didn't mind this as the voucher discount was very generous and I was not expecting to get a booking at this time of day in the West End. The service was very good and the quality of the food was excellent. I would recommend this venue and I will hope to visit again.

Could have a better choice of desserts , although the ones we had were very good ( cinnamon brioche& butter pudding / ice cream). Also big portions. The house white wine excellent and dry. When we arrived the restaurant it was already packed with people on either a pre theatre drink or meal. We were instantly greeted by Simone S, who even if you were having a terrible day could wipe it away with hers instantly we were shown to our table straight away, and as said even though the restaurant was very busy, our order was also taken by Simone straight away, an apart from cooking the food and doing the drinks think that she was doing everything else. Food and drinks arrived promptly and the food/recommendations were wolfed down by all three of us, it was also really good that once the theatre crowd had left we got a chance to speak to Simone. Would happily recommend this restaurant that can cope on a very busy night with people keeping one eye on the food and the other on the time.

Three main issues 1) Very poor selection of vegetarian options. 2) my Aperol Spritz cocktail was served in a small wine glass -clearly of insufficient size to contain the intended ingredients of aperol, Prosecco, ice and soda water. 3) only 4 crackers provided on the cheeseboard. Very disappointed as we chose here over Bancone which is far superior.

We found this restaurant because it was near to the theatre we were going to. They offer an A La Carte menu as well as a Pre-theatre menu which offers 2 or 3 courses for a set price. There are two floors to this restaurant but it’s not too many steps to walk up. I have a crutch and I managed to get upstairs. There is also a toilet on the upper floor which is reasonably easy to use but it does have a couple of steps down to to it. The waiters that served us were very helpful and polite - Hashim and Ahmed. But the whole team including a gentleman called Imran were all very polite. The food was well cooked and served in good time, it did get busy but it seemed that people were still being served in reasonable time, but I suggest you make sure you give yourself plenty of time in case they get busy. We arrived at 5 and it was calm, but by 6pm it had become much busier and by almost 7pm when we left it had calmed down again. Thank you to all the staff who made our evening very happy.

We have been there with my group of friends, and we’ve been disappointed on many occasions. First of all, the service is not great. The staff is not the most friendly. Secondly, the portions of food are not very generous, especially for the starters, plus the food was cold when it arrived on the table. We had to ask for another plate of fries. This place is definitely not worth it. Price is too high and the quality of the food+service is not good at all. We decided not to pay the service fee, and the chick who took the payment was fuming, I could tell she wasn’t happy about that. But honestly, they didn’t deserve it, so we didn’t pay it. Was a 70th birthday lunch. Pre theatre menu. Our table was 12.15 Saturday lunchtime. Out of 4 starter choices only 3 were available (poor when service had only just started). Once ordered they came back and said another wasn't available, now down to 2 choices. We all had the same but wasn't really what we wanted. Mains 2x fish and chips all good, excellent chips, but stone cold mushed peas. 1x hotpot, which turned out to be deconstructed with potato cubes, not slices but nice. 1x ox cheek which was nice, but only warm and the mash was cold. Didn't complain as didn't want yo upset mum. Service was slow, wasn't asked about other drinks. Just one waitress (think manager or adsistant manager) miss no personality/no smile covering the whole floor for everything. Almost didn't have time for dessert, we rushed them down to leave by 2.15 for the 10min walk to the theatre. I don't mind a service charge being added but you still have to earn it. You was lucky with inlaws because I woyld have removed it. Disappointed - yes. Even though food was nice dispite elements being cold. Wouldn't return as service bad.

It was our first time visit. We arrived at 5:20pm and were greeted by lovely Romanian manageress. Then our waiter Abdullah handed over a Pre-theatre menus. He was polite and attentive. His smile was worth a million dollars. His service was superb. We have chosen Burrata with added pesto for starter, which was very delicate and tasty, then fish and chips for main course, well cooked, fresh and had an amazing crust around, chips were made of real potatoes cut into wedges, very crispy, baked in fresh oil. The best fish and chips we had ever had. Ice cream for a desert was average but an apple rhubarb crumble was great. The restaurant is very clean, members of staff are caring about customers and give all their attention. A set menu of 3-course meal at £22.00 was an amazing deal. Although half a pint of Soho lager at £8.75 was very expensive, and so a small bottle of Peroni beer of 330ml at £7.25! quite shocking in price. The restaurant is located at the start of upper St Martin’s Lane, and is conveniently situated for many of London’s theatres, Covent Garden etc.. This was my first visit to this restaurant, the tables are well spaced, and the staff were extremely helpful, and went...

Even though I made a reservation online, they didn't even make a seat, and after ordering the food, they told me to order something else because they didn't have the ingredients I ordered, so I waited for a long time. Overall, the food was salty, and the dessert also brought ice cream as a topping, saying there was no single cream. It was absurd. The coffee was not even warm even though it had just been drawn. In addition, when making an online reservation, they decided to give a 50% discount as a promotion, but when they didn't do it at the checkout, they complained, and only then did they give 50% excluding dessert and coffee. The seats at the tables in the store are so tight that your head touches the person behind you. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great for the price.

I enjoyed Sunday roast accompanied by good quality wine . The veggie roast was the best I had they really put some effort into making this very tasty and use good quality vegetables. Lovely ambivalence too we had a nice booth and staff were very welcoming and did not charge us for any extras . Would definitely go back.

Ci torneremo sicuramente!

It is not worth the price you and the fact that they knew we booked with the soft launch offer of 50% of for our food and then they brought our bill trying to charge us full amount. Which would have not been a problem, people forget but the waiter gave such an attitude when we politely told them there is a mistake with our bill and please amend their mistake… The food was ok but I would never in my life would return to this place. There are so many much better places in London than this place… the star for the other lovely waitress lady who was very nice to us! Thank you. The guy who served us our bill and told us they need the table back had such an attitude… I guess it is good if you want to pop in for a bite before theatre, but otherwise don’t bother.. I would not come here for any special occasion at all.

Interesting menu and a January discount caught our eye. The restaurant also offers a good value pre-theatre menu price up to 6.30pm. This is worth checking out. We had a main course each and shared a dessert, and a cocktail. The Lancashire hotpot was a tasty and wholesome meal, even if it isn't actually Lancashire hotpot (no red wine in old Lancashire!!). The cod loin was tasty - it was rather like a fancy fish soup and as such would have benefitted from a chunk of bread. The cocktails are interesting, including one that is based on pears, anc another potent one that is set alight! A pleasant place for a meal when there are so many places to choose from.

Solidly mediocre in every way. Food was okay, edible but nothing special, we would not reorder any of the dishes we had. Service was bad even for London standards with very inexperienced and poorly trained servers, and the whole place looked and felt like it was trying hard to be nice but was missing the mark by a lot. I would be surprised if they get many repeat customers, but in that location they don’t need repeat customers to stay in business.

Good location but was disappointed to be charged a service fee on a bottle of wine I ordered at the bar (table service wasn’t offered). This was dealt with swiftly by the staff and the additional charge refunded.

We visited with the 50% off a la carte offer but it would have been an expensive meal if not, and the quality didn’t justify it. Our cocktails were quite good, and the Caesar salad & scotch eggs were nice, but the cod and Mac & cheese were far too bland. Decent service and a nice feel to the place though.

Four of us went taking advantage of the fork 50% discount before the theatre. Was initially busy and difficult to get served but waiter was lovely and very good service later in the meal. We enjoyed the burrata and crab for starter. Mains were mixed, hotpot and calf liver were ok, cod was well cooked but served on a luke warm sauce which was gloopy and unenjoyable.

Staff and atmosphere were decent here, but the food let's this place down, we ordered Fillet steak, which was the only steak on the Menu, but were both given almost minute steak.

I came during a soft launch so maybe improvements will be made: Where to start… - many items were sold out, including wine options - the mains came 20 mins apart - the medium rare stake came pretty much well done and was chewy - the starter squid was like rubber - the food in general is tasteless Would steer clear

They only had the most expensive wines left, and didn't offer an alternative for the one we wanted to order. Took ages to get bill, when we needed to go to the opera.

The menu was very limited but good. I think it’s a pretty good restaurant for Americans who want to try British food without the full commitment (if that makes sense). The service was good, the environment was very modern and elegant, but the food was okay. The egg dish was VERY good and so was the crab cake (don’t really remember the name).

Came for the 50% taster a la carte menu, food was good especially lentil stew, lamb hotpot was okay. Main problem was, I burnt myself on the pot of the hotpot. I was warned, but the handle was sticking out and hard to maneuvre around, even something as simple as a large damp cloth/napkin covering it would have sufficed. Music was very club-like and not really fitting with the marketing of the place. To add insult to injury, the waiter charged us around £3 more than was listed as our final total (including service) on our receipt.

It all looks OK but service is poor and the bar food served is cheap frozen food at prices that should require a far better quality. There are far better options in London

I used to love this place, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. I'm glad to see it hasn't changed too much, but with the downside that it is now apparently owned by BrewDog. Luckily, it appears they let them continue without having to follow the "taproom by numbers" you get out of most BrewDog bars, so not only does it have it's own look, but there is a much more interesting selection of beers. It was easy enough to get a seat on a Saturday afternoon, which is always a bonus in a decent location like this.

Fui a desayunar. Mucho a mucho. Este lugar no es para mi. Buen café sin embargo.
