Coffee tastes burnt and dirty. Service was fast…maybe too fast.

My friends and I had a coffee and then visited the ladies rest room. From the moment we saw the entrance we we were shocked! A very dirty door. Old dirt! On entering the ladies the whole area was very dirty and dusty and greasy. The floor was disgusting, the toilet pan and walls dirty! There was a cleaning sheet present in the cubicle? I did complain and the staff went up to check. Apsolutly disgusting! Cafe Nero you should be ashamed!!

Absolutely filthy & should be ashamed!! I had the great misfortune to try & use the Toilet! Honestly this place should be shut down, heath hazard ⚠️ ( totally vile )

DISGRACEFUL and ABSOLUTELY CORROSIVE behaviour on the part of the employees at this Nero’s recently. On our last visit one of the baristas apparently felt very strongly about not serving certain ethnic groups of customers, and whilst she casually sipped a drink, she proceeded to mete out verbal abuse and sarcastic comments that sent us looking for coffee elsewhere. ( very quickly ) We had had coffee here before and this Nero’s had always had very LITTLE to recommend it: extremely slow and very impersonal ( and occasionally, ABUSIVE ) service, absolutely no Wi-Fi signal, no working plugs or outlets, revolting and unsanitary toilets, and, sometimes, extremely rude, disrespectful and generally unhelpful staff, all with the humid and unappetising odour of DRAINS and TOILET in the background. ( NOT really the ideal place to bring a first date or the fam ) I don’t see how Nero’s can stay in business employing people who are so socially inept and so unattractively RUDE and not taking care to provide decent toilet facilities or other sanitary measures. AVOID this place if you can ., an absolutely terrible experience.

It was a horrible experience, We entered one hour before closing, and the attendant told he could sell us coffee only in paper cups since they were closing (50 minutes before announced time?) We agreed. We took the coffee; no receipt was given, and 5 minutes after, that's to say, 45 minutes before closing We tried to use the toilets, but the access was blocked. As we asked, they informed they were not available. I think there are laws regarding infrastructure for bars and that they are not respecting the laws. Some other customers, especially elderly people, were also rejected when trying to use toilets. They simply answered "In the train station, you have public toilets." Really a disgusting attitude.

The very expensive and ugly coffee, the place with flies and the sockets to charge cell phones for an emergency are not useful, they only have them as luxuries.

I’m starting off this review by saying if a health inspector visited this establishment tomorrow, it would be shut down and Caffè Nero would be served a hefty fine! Horrific experience at this establishment. Standing in the queue waiting to place our order, a member of our party needed to use the restroom. Asked staff member where toilets were, he rudely said something had to be bought. I said yes, we’re standing in the queue, can you let us know where the toilets are. Very rudely again said, you have to buy something first. Once we bought our items, we were directed upstairs. I can’t even begin to explain how disgusting the toilet was. The smell of urine was pungent and hit you like a ton of bricks as soon as you went upstairs. There were customers who walked into the toilet and refused to use the toilet it was so disgusting. There was thick, black, mouldy grime that had built up on the floors and walls, there was unidentified muck in the sink, the smell of the toilet to this day makes me feel ill. This wasn’t just a few days of not cleaning, this is months worth of muck and dirt. It was so disgusting I refused to wash my hands in the toilet and had to use hand sanitiser upon exiting. My dad, who works as a bricklayer, and has seen several horrible toilets in his time, entered the toilet and was physically sick with the sights and smells of what Caffè Nero has the absolute cheek to offer as a customer toilet. I’m so glad all we bought was bottles of water, if this is what their toilet looks like and it’s blatantly obvious they don’t clean it, what do their coffee machines look like which they probably don’t bother their backsides to clean either. If health and safety came in to this establishment tomorrow, it would be shut down immediately and Caffè Nero would be served a fine. Utterly disgusted. Won’t be visiting a Caffè Nero establishment again.

Visited yesterday, 29th June, and I can honestly say I have never seen such filthy unsanitary toilets ever! Absolutely disgusting.

Upon entering the cafe, I was immediately struck by the aggressive behavior of some individuals who appeared to be homeless. While I understand that homelessness is a complex issue, I was shocked and dismayed when I realized that the cafe seemed to be deliberately allowing these individuals to agitate customers. It was clear that the staff were not taking any steps to address the situation or provide a safe and welcoming environment for paying customers. To make matters worse, when some customers complained about the situation, security was called in to deal with the issue. However, it soon became apparent that this was not just a genuine attempt to resolve the problem, but rather a way for the cafe to intimidate and bully customers into submission. The atmosphere became increasingly tense and unsettling, with security personnel using aggressive language and tone to try to silence anyone who dared to speak out against the disruptive behavior. But what really took the cake was when I discovered that the cafe had intentionally cut off the power upstairs, rendering it impossible for customers to use the facilities. This was not an isolated incident - it's been going on for more than six months, according to other customers I spoke to. It's unacceptable that Cafe Nero would allow this situation to continue for so long without taking any meaningful action to address it. As a paying customer, I expect a certain level of service and respect. Instead, I felt like I was walking into a war zone every time I visited. The lack of concern for customer well-being and safety is staggering. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Cafe Nero again. Until they take concrete steps to address this issue and provide a safe and welcoming environment for all customers, I would strongly advise others to avoid this location at all costs.

Unfriendly staff. Specially people coming from India should know what hospitality is. I would suggest Cafe Nero to hire more professional staff

The guy working here in morning 15/june/2024 morning 6:55. experience very very rude. and behave very annoying to people costumer service. made my day really bad. even coffee isn’t good. prefer to go somewhere else.

Just visited this branch of Caffè Nero with my partner the weekend gone. We often come to this Nero when we have to wait for our coach at Vitoria Coach Station. The is place has plenty of seating, but our favourite place is the sofa in the corner as it’s more private and cosy there. We’ve shared a pistachio latte and one of those Italian 🇮🇹 buns with cream. Delicious as always. A pro is that I get free Nero coffees on a weekly basis 😊 Staff here are friendly and patient. The place is clean. And it’s very close to Victoria coach station and Victoria train station. Will definitely e back when travelling up to London or back down to the Isle of Wight 😊

Nice interrior but cofee is bland, wifi is horrible and bathroom nasty.

The toilets were disgusting, they looked and smelled so unclean. We also sat upstairs close to them and heard everyone who came out commenting on how bad they were as well. Food and service were fine but was put off by the hygiene standards.

i visited this place recently and came across the RUDEST boy... awful attitude, he messed up my drink order and when i asked for him to correct it he had a huge attitude about it and at first refused until i persisted. I'm sorry but what... not only that, the boy just seem to stand behind the counter giving customers evils (as he did me when i came in), whispering to his colleuges not being personable or friendly to any customers that approached him from what i noticed.. he seems to have the unfortunate case of thinking he's above his job and anyone he serves, but he's there to serve us... ironically.

Nice branch of Caffè Nero but ground floor is a bit small. I drop into this chain because of the great choice of seating and jazz music in the background. In terms of interior decor this chain has a great atmosphere! Really good choice of rolls and sandwiches although not much veggie. Good quality coffee!

Stopped in for a break during a bus tour. Panini was tasty, but could have been toasted more. The main thing, the toilets were disgusting. It’s not just that they weren’t cleaned today (even though the chart said they had been checked 5 times a day) the layers of grime on the floor, the walls, the sink…it’s been like that for some time. Would make you wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen.

Conveniently situated across the road from the City Sightseeing bus stop so it seemed like a good place for lunch. Nice warm atmosphere in the shop and staff were very friendly so can’t fault any of that. The shop wasn’t busy at all at 1:15pm and the 3 staff were all remarking to each other that it was quiet…. So…… - they hadn’t washed up enough mugs so they had to give us paper cups for our tea. - the toilets were in a bad , smelly state. It looked like someone had been sick in the wash basin, floor was all wet and the cleaning schedule hadn’t been initialled since before opening time that day. If that’s the way the staff maintain their public toilets I fonder how hygienic the kitchen is maintained?

I've been to many caffè neros, and none of them gave me such a bad experience as the one I had today. I walk-in, say hi to the barista. I'm the one acknowledging him, not the other way around. I ask for a latte with cream on top. Not hard right? He proceeds to give me a latte with a mountain of cream on top, so high that you couldn't close it with the lid even if you were to push it down. Also, he doesn't give me my drink and apologise for it, or offer to make a new one. He gives me my drink and says "here you go" and even laughs about it. I'm surprised someone commented positively about the bathrooms, as they were absolutely disgusting. Avoid this place.

They served breakfast to take away even when they were in the cafe. Everything from the semi-finished product 😞 Nothing tasted good, the coffee was very subpar for an "Italian" cafe.

My first visit to this cafe nero but won't back. Unfortunately the staff are poor at their job, there was 40 mins left before closing but I felt rushed as soon as I walked it. The two guys ŵere just not bothered and the trainee refused to give me a plate for my cheese cake although I made it clear that I'm sitting in. I should have been told I have to eat with my fingers from a paper bag....because I would not have brought it. I bet they charged me to sit in though ...without the perks. Also tables are dirty and sofa seats look like they were picked up from a skip....my loyalty has to remain with Costa...at least they have good customer service!!!!

The coffees we had were excellent. The chicken bacon panini was bland. And the toilet… so disgusting! They really should do something about it.

I began having coffee/tea here with some regularity after having meeting there a few times with my engineering colleagues a few months ago .. I enjoyed the atmosphere because it’s unfussy - you don’t have to be too conscious of being overly neat or lifting your pinky finger or of the staff urging you to finish and move on - it’s a very relaxed atmosphere and you can actually concentrate upon your meeting, or reading or doing whatever ( a lot like being in any well-lived-in lounge in any British house here ) ., Also it’s one of the few resources for access to working plugs for your phone, laptop, etc .. has good view of the Road and, the staff ( unless they’re new ) remember my order completely .. A good place to escape the office or the crowds for a few hours and get some things done ..

Coffee and tea very nice. Service very good. BUT….. The whole place is grubby. Furniture dilapidated - it needs a good steam clean and a redecoration. They are taking advantage of its convenience near to Victoria Station etc. Whoever is the area manager needs to get a grip and sort this place out. The toilets are absolutely disgusting

Staff who don't say hello. I waited 10 minutes for him to take my order when there was only me, pretended not to understand what I wanted because of my accent. Loud sigh when I count my change for payment. For a first-timer in a café of this branch, I'm not about to set foot in .... again. The only positive point was that the chocolate cake was very good.

Barista was very rude to me and the people before me. I asked for soy milk twice and still got dairy milk.

The server is highly disinterested in server. Has a constant annoyed face. I purchased food with 15 pounds and still was not given a bag. When I asked for a bag, he said don’t you have a bag? Not visiting again.

Been there a week ago with my boyfriend and I was absolutely shocked. As a Caffe Nero I am a Caffe Nero employee from Dorset (worked for Cm for 5 years now), service was extremely poor. New trainee left absolutely alone with a long queue where people were constantly leaving due to the long waiting frmor very simple coffees (all in take away cups). Lady working with him was extremely rude, made a huge scene in front of costumers to then leave him alone for more than 30 Min. Once back she didn't show any shame into messaging on the phone right in front of the till despite the huge queue. Embarrassing. As well coffee standards were not respected as my boyfriend almost burned himself spilling his overfilled americano coffee. Shame for a Caffe Nero in Central London, I would never worked there if back to London.

Extremely poor service. I don’t blame the one trainee they left alone who clearly did not have enough experience to be serving customers. I queued for over 20mins in a three person queue, to then watch him guess how to make the coffee I ordered. He then handed me a coffee that was way too full and subsequently spilled all over me. Did not provide a solution either.

As many other comments before me, the service here is not top-class. The waiter and the training guy (when you see a red t- shirt, have some patience, they are in training, meaning they serve only one person at a time, and they are slower) were at the same level of hawful slowness, the (manager I assume) waitress was serving one person at a time as well and with a LOT of chill... for the record I worked in Caffè Nero for nearly a year, and I know all the rules (that none of the staff in this cafe was following). I saw her cleaning the milk throather nozzle 6 times (yes I counted!!). While a cue of 7 clients waited. She did not followed regulations in heating my sausage roll too, leaving it too little and giving me a half cold one to eat. Not impressed. But I've been here few times and it seems no matter who is behind the till, the speed was the same.. well there are indeed plenty of other cafe in the street.

It's become a sort of tradition to come to this Nero whenever I'm in London. It's always had nice vibes but today especially, the girl with the Sussex(?) accent and glasses was particularly lovely and as always the coffee and snacks are 👌✨

I'm a regular customer for the commute, the morning barista (Italian chap?) is super polite and makes a great coffee, my experience of the staff later in the day is a bit mixed.

I was there this morning, only one guy in the whole cafe. He was working so slowly it seemed he was having fun of the long queue of people waiting to get a coffe.

Mon 19/12/22, 9.50am The waitress asks us to repeat our order 3 times (2 porridges with jam and seeds and a cappuccino). After we get our porridges, we see there are no seeds so we ask for them, she goes back asking what was our order and how much did we pay, we reassure her that we order and paid for seeds as well…she keeps looking at the screen, we are in a rush so we ask do you have the seeds or not, she says “no”!!!??? After we open are porridge to find out it’s more milk than anything else.

Dreadful service. As someone who has worked for Caffe Nero in management, I was really disappointed by the terrible customer service in this shop. Caffe Nero service is usually great, but the man who served me was outright rude. Avoid- there are much better places to get coffee in Victoria.

I've honestly not met less friendly staff than this. I had a bad experience here a few weeks ago but thought it would be a one off - nope, different staff today and again very moody, impolite, and just generally unhelpful.

Terrible service today by the 2 staff members who charged me twice and then would not believe me that I had paid the 1st time. Could not return my money back. There was no manager and the so called team leader could not refund. What was supposed to be a relaxing time turned into a stress. Never going to Nero again. Incompetence topped with rudeness! Zero star.

First to a Cafe Nero, no Salted Caramel and pistachio creme frappe and only when I'd paid and queried the cream on top missing told me no cream. Double disappointment for my wife.

Espacios y pisos sucios, mesas sin recoger, los empleados sin energías, la galleta sabía extraño. El café y la galleta te las dan para llevar aunque vayas a tomarlos en la mesa… etc. Conclusión, no regresaría a este café.

We had breakfast today at 8am and the food was not fresh, it obviously was from the day before.

Staff were off, not very friendly. I was aware they closed at 1700 - At 1600 I ordered another drink to drink in and got told I could only have it in a takeaway cup as they were washing up. At 1630 I went to go use the toilet and got told they had been cleaned and so couldn't be used (full 30 mins before closing) - and was recommended to go use the train station toilets which I thought was bizarre and unprofessional - I'd sat in for the last hour, paid money for drinks so expect to be able to use the toilet. They were clearly only interested in closing at 1700 rather than giving basic customer service.

Yesterday evening complete nightmare I am a regular customer here I buy 2 to 5 coffees a day I rate all the other staff very highly thr names I know Michael Zainab other staff all excellent However last night I went inside to use the restroom and then I always buy after my coffee and a chocolate a new man I never seen during the day time refused me to use the restroom totally not understanding I found him to be rude profoundly I have decided not to use this cafe Neru again if I see that member of staff inside ! Very Sad !

Dennie - I visited Cafe Nero after work & wanted to buy a bottle of still water, unfortunately there was only sparking in the fridge, as they were stocking, so the still water wasn’t cold. The server Dennie took great initiative and said “how about I give you a take away cup with filtered water & ice” which I thought was great, 10/10 on customer service! Guess where I will be getting my morning coffee each day now, 123 Buckingham palace road Cafe Nero!!! Brilliant 👏

Part 2 Fast forward some time and I've come back to the same branch of Cafe Nero for the next rounds of paradise. I was reunited with Gabriel, but this time was assured that his colleague had the necessary experience to craft my coffee. I had some faith, but Laura had so much more in her abilities and nothing could prepare me for the grandeur experience I was about to witness. The coffee was delicious and creamy, the right measurements of sour beans and sweet sweet sugar 🥰 I hope Laura continues to make deliciously motivated decisions in all areas of her life as it is apparent she has the stars in her eyes. I glanced over at the barista and asked for my usual "listen mate I want a medium coffee, something inbetween a cappuccino and a latte... think you can work that out for me?" "I will do my best" he responded. I wasn't so reassured so I pushed on and asked "can I have 1 and a half shots of coffee by any chance?" "Yes, I can do that for sure" "Oh lovely, sweet I'll take that"! No one could of prepared me for the heavenly bliss of a coffee that was produced by the hands of Gabriel, God bless him 🙌🏽. Nice coffee shop with lots of nooks and crannys. Service was good. This is the type of place you go to the counter and place your order and then return to your seat e.g. no table service. Coffees were great. Be aware though toilets are up a flight of stairs and then a walk and another set of stairs and the toilet cubicles you need an entry code for and are very small.

The staff from morning to lunch time mid week are always friendly and welcoming. The barrista's make the coffee at good drinking temperature. The branch is in a good location just outside Victoria train station heading towards the coach station. Spacious and plenty of seating inside. My favourite place to get coffee in the area.
