Chanced upon this food cart at the A1 northbound service centre in Wetherby. Had the traditional cornish pasty - it was served hot and was delicious! Except for the hand-crimped part of the pastry which was too doughy, the pastry and filling tasted great together.

Good, tasty food, and the most realistic authentic pasty around. However, lacking a bit of meat, filling is too much cheap root veg, which is not reflected in the price. Last two pasties have had just two small bits of meat. Often out of stock of various lines, including soft drinks. Lots of post say about rudeness, I’ve not experienced this. The last 8 times I’ve been at these services, it’s only been open at the advertised times twice! Change your hours to reflect, or open at the right times please.

I gave one star for the polite lady that served me. Steak and ale pasty was lacking meat and smelt a bit foisty. Tatey wedges dry and 25p for ketchup. Uht milk for tea and coffee.

Not very good and over priced. Customer service is appalling no hello or thank you. I bought 3 pastys and they cost just shy of £15.00. Very little meat in them. Overall I will not be going there again.

Went to get a bacon sandwich this morning, got to the counter and the lady said there was a 5 minute wait for the bacon. I said no problem can I pay for that and a tea please, to be snapped at ‘no you’ll have to come back in 5 minutes, I can’t guarantee it’! It’s a kiosk, so I can’t pay for a sandwich and stand and wait 5 minutes for it? Why not? If I’d paid for it then why can’t you guarantee it, especially if I was standing waiting? Really poor service. Will go to Greggs from now on, explains why their que is always huge and there’s never anyone at the pasty stall with the pit viper!

Oh. My. GOD. Let me tell you about my night at this pub in Knaresborough because, honey, it was an absolute disaster – and not the fun, reality-TV kind. No, this was the kind of drama that would make a telenovela look like a casual tea party. I sauntered in, thinking I was about to have the night of my life – and with this face, why wouldn’t I? The place was cute enough, I’ll give it that, and I thought, “This might actually be fabulous.” But oh no, darling, the universe had other plans. First off, the online ordering system was down. DOWN. In 2024! I mean, I might as well have been trying to send a telegram! The whole point of going to a pub these days is to sip a cocktail while casually tapping away on your phone, right? But noooo. Instead, I had to walk to the bar like some peasant from the 1800s. The nerve! The bar? PACKED. I could feel the wrinkles forming as I waited, endlessly, for someone to notice me. And when they finally did? They had the audacity to act like it was my fault that their ancient system had crumbled. I swear, I was two seconds away from giving them a live performance of “And I Am Telling You” right there. But wait, there’s a twist: the toilets. GORGEOUS. I mean, I walked in and thought I’d been transported to a high-end spa. Marble, mirrors, the lighting was divine—honestly, it was like a little slice of heaven in the middle of this disaster zone. I spent more time in the bathroom admiring the décor than I did actually eating or drinking. Priorities, darling. So, here’s the tea: if you’re after a stunning restroom experience, by all means, swing by. But if you’re hoping for decent service or a smooth ordering process, save yourself the heartbreak. I left hungry, frustrated, but at least with a fabulous selfie from the loo. 1.5 stars – And that’s only because the toilets SLAYED.

Handy for a cuppa after work or during a shop. The cafe is situated in the simply food store and it’s clients are generally local. Good service and bright and airy cafe. Huge windows mean it gets very hot in sunny weather. No outside seating.

Unfortunately the Railway Inn is still closed with apparently no date for reopening. The Railway Inn is owned by Samuel Smith's brewery and no further information is available.

The service is terrible. The restaurant staff were too busy worrying about the take away orders to do anything for us. We helped ourselves to napkins and plates. The belt had no plates on it as we arrived which did improve and the kitchen staff did their best to respond to our request ! Expensive too.
