Ok food, but quite pricey: Burger & chips £14 Smaller meals £7-8.50 Kids sandwich box £6 Kids warm food £7.25 Ice creams £3.25 Soft drinks £3.25 Coffees ~ £3-4 We visited on a Sunday around 2:30pm in July, and it wasn't super busy but food took at least 20 minutes to be brought to our table, and wasn't very hot. Iced coffee served in plastic single-use cup even though we were dining in, which is unnecessarily wasteful. Nice outdoor area with plenty of tables.

Stopped in for a late lunch after pitching a tent nearby. We got to the cafe around 15.30 and it closes at 1600. Thought that's plenty of time for a quick lunch. Unfortunately staff were quite impatient and seemed very keen on closing up and going home. We both had a panini with mozzarella and med veg. When we got them the cheese was barely melted and the salad was literally some lettuce leaves out a bag of salad. No care put into the plates. The panini wasn't particularly tasty either. By the time we got our food, staff were clearing everything away and making it quite clear that the 20 or so people who were finishing drinks and food (mainly outside) were an inconvenience. It's a shame as it's in a stunning location.

Little/no choice of cold sandwiches/baguettes. Ice cream in the freezer is at the end of the food run so potentially part melted by the time you get to the till. Menus only on the wall behind the tills so you cant really make your mind up on choice until you are ready to pay. Everyone groups around at the end after paying for your hot drinks. Coffee is poor. Outside there is a separate area for hot pork sandwiches and ice cream scoops. Only one member of staff so queue is huge. If you order food inside and out, you will eat at separate times. Food is too expensive for the poor quality.

Our drinks were not much better, the tea tasted stale and the flat white extra hot was in fact cool. Overall the place is over priced and poor quality. On top of that it cost £4.00 to park the car. Visited the cafe today - fortunately there wasn’t a queue - just had tea coffee and ham egg and chips x2 - service was pleasant and efficient - not sure about the layout of picking up drinks from the drinks counter - that can get congested -,you collect an electronic tab to take to your table so the waitress can find you - good idea as there’s extensive outdoor eating area - anyway food arrive v quick was hot no prob - not the best but ok - bear in mind this is a café not a high class restaurant and it’s full of families children with bikes scooters etc and loads of dogs - but I think they’re confined to outside - overall no issues it is what it is - and yes it’s a bit on the expensive side - £12.50 for ham egg and chips - but if you don’t want to pay that - take a picnic

Well what can I say ,the only thing I can describe is what we had was vial . out side the main cafe there was a pop up area that sold more foods such as hot dogs , pulled pork in a bun and burgers. It was still connected to the cafe as the kitchen was making the food as we heard one worker tell another ”to tell the kitchen we need more burgers”myself and my mum went for the burger and were shocked when they pulled out a pre made bun with all the filling already assembled so didn’t seem very fresh and the meat were kept in something to keep them warm but the burger looked like it was boiled rather than cooked it looked anaemic , it was watery , cold and had a soggy taste . Not edible and gave to the dog as that’s what it was dog chum . It has nothing to do with the lad that served us but the food was not it, which is a shame as we have had other food from there previously that we enjoyed

In early January we took a dog for a walk in the woods and wanted to stop for lunch in the café. To our surprise dogs are not allowed in the café. This seems a very strange situation when you are in the middle of the woods and most pubs and even restaurants now allow dogs. We saw a sign that said please give us feedback on the feedback form, but we couldn't find one. So we then asked the staff if we could have a feedback form and they said they couldn't find any. We then asked about the decision on dogs and they said the management had made the decision. I then emailed the management the following day to ask them to reconsider banning dogs. I got no reply. After 2 weeks I emailed again and got no reply. I then contacted the Wendover forestry commission who kindly said that they would contact the café and try and get a response back to me. Still no response. The management of the café obviously don't value customer feedback.

I can’t tell you if the food was good because we didn’t even get to eat! At 2.55pm we asked for menus and were told the menu was on the wall. We all took photos of the menu and went to the table to work out what everyone wanted. We went up to order at 3.04pm to be told the kitchen was closed - by the same group of girls who had just told us the menu was on the wall and watched us take photos! We brought this up to be met with shrugs. Lazy staff who just don’t know the meaning of customer service. We decided to leave and noticed all the signage outside states the restaurant closes at 4pm - not sure why the kitchen would be closing a full hour prior. It’s a cute cafe, convenient after a walk in the woods but I don’t think we’ll be returning after the way the staff behaved today. Disappointing.

Unbelievably poor. Overpriced food that tasted bland and was extremely poor value for money. What a shame in a great location they built a lovely new cafe building and serve absolute bland rubbish at gourmet prices. They also don't allow dogs inside the cafe! At a woodland walking area, absolutely ludicrous. Never again! Shameful. Steak burger and chips which I think was £14, looked like dog food and tasted as bland as a burger could possibly taste. We also ordered cheesy chips and there was virtually zero cheese apart from a crusty thin strip. £50 for lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids and that was went one of the adults was only having cheesey chips and a latte. The coffee was made by a single push button machine and tasted worse than instant. The burger left me feeling ill for the rest of the day. So sad that this is what you end up with in a beautiful location.

I wasn't sure whether I should be putting a bad review on here or calling the police. Stopped here in the middle of a long bike ride. A very basic white bread ham sandwich, a small bottle of lucozade, small pepsi, a packet of crisps & an americano. £15!! outrageous. The only reason I opted for the basic sandwich was the kitchen was closed at 3pm. When I rode up the hill towards the cafe and saw the HUGE sign saying "we are open to 5pm" I felt relief that I'd get some food. At 4pm, while eating my 1970's style train sandwich, staff were putting chairs on top of tables around me. God help anyone turning up at 4:30 and expecting to be served! What saddened me most was the building is nice, in a lovely area and with lots of kids playing in the playparks nearby. but when you charge £2.25 for an F'ing fruit shoot bottle then you should be charged with robbery. How can you expect a family to come to a cafe in the park and pay such obviously marked up prices? I'll definitely never be bringing my kids here, I already have 1 mortgage I don't need another.

Dreadful place. The service is terrible and the staff clearly don't care much about the customers. Also, their website gives misleading info on opening hours - it says they're open until 5.30pm, which is wrong. 1 star as the staff were friendly and ok… I will explain why I think only ok. So to start the tables were dirty and for the whole hour I was here I didn’t see one staff member clean a table at all. Disgusting hygiene. Pricing, I paid £40 for 3 meals… burger and chips and that came with only 1 drink between all three of us… terrible value for money. Wait time.. above average we were waiting for around 25-30 mins for our food. Once the food arrived we noticed the ketchup dispenser was empty, I requested a staff member to refill so I could have sauce with the expensive burger… she tried to get out of doing it however I was firm and she then replaced the ketchup. (This is why only ok with staff) Flavour, they added sauces that were not advertised which gave the burger a vile taste to the point my wife had to remove the meat from the burger buns… again… disgusting. Overall rating 0.5 stars however can only give 1 star… I would NOT recommend at all Stay away !!!!! Also the meat was dry as hell… Never again .

Had lunch at this place with my family. Prices are far too expensive for the quality you get. I had ham, eggs and chips (I never order this dish but was hoping in a simple hearty plate of food) and it was literally 3 very thin slices of ham, which had no flavour, and 2 small barely fried eggs. The rest was oven chips, barely warm. This whole dish costs them less than 1 pound. For 12 pounds I would expect something more. In addittion I was bloated for the rest of the day, so something was not right with the food. My wife had the soup of the day which was just peas, courgettes and lots (far too much) of dry mint. The butter she got for her bread was off. Soup also massively overpriced. Coffee cake tasted ok but the sponge was far too sugary, the buttercream even more. Coffee and tea were very bad quality too. Very frustrating. This place charges high end farm shop cafe's prices but serves food which is worse than a dodgy greasy spoon. I genuinely don't understand the positive reviews. Like in many other places in Buckinghamshire, you pay London prices but get substandard food and people seem to love it! Next time we will bring our own food.

Let's be honest you're not going to get much better surroundings while having a Cappuccino than sat outside on the wooden decking area at Wendover Woods Cafe. With such splendid vistas and a beautiful landscape, it's such a shame the Cafe is so pedestrian. The food is fine, the cakes are fine, the coffee is fine. I'm not sure though what is steeper, the hike up the Woods or the price for the uninspired food. I just feel there is so much potential and its waisted on boring sandwiches and run of the mill jacket potato's. I'm sure most of the food is homemade but it just has the feel of someone going through the Brake Brothers catalogue and just picking the top 10 best sellers. Like I said there is nothing wrong with the food, it's just boring. I should say though that the staff are really lovely and friendly.

A nice airy building. Food was not great and the floor was disgusting. The hash brown and bacon bap had obviously been sat in the hot cabinet for a while - the bottom was like cardboard and my husband couldn't eat it all - it wasn't pleasant! My daughter had the kids lunch box - the ham sandwich was ok, but the bread was very dry. I had a chicken with chilli mayo wrap - it was nice but the salad had gone a bit limp so it didn't taste freshly made. With two cups of tea our lunch was just over £20! Not good value for money. The floor was covered in food and mud - I can accept the mud due to it being a cafe in woodlands - but the dropped food was really unpleasant. Cafe is clean and organised with good Covid controls, however they have placed their bike parking facilities in a very silly place which puts the bikes at high risk of being stolen. The staff don't seem to understand this and are constantly hassling the cyclists to move their bikes. Last weekend we turned up, very carefully placed our bikes in no ones way (but visible to where we were eating outside) and were then forced by staff to move away. We ended up standing up with our bikes, some distance off from the cafe, feeling very unwelcome. Until they allow bike parking be somewhere that can be seen from a table, I would suggest all cyclists avoid this cafe.

Lovely place to walk through woods. The cafe is a good, standard cafe. Plenty of choice of food, drinks and seating. Clean and accessible.

The facilities are fantastic, clean, organised and very well setup within regards to the COVID-19 measures. Drinks are varied and acceptable price and quality. However the food is poor. This is a nicety. I got a chicken burger that was £5.95. it was lukewarm at best. The quality of the ingredients were the cheapest available, minced breaded chicken burger, not big enough to fill the bun (£0.80 at best), bun (£0.14), a chunk of tomato cut with a teaspoon. Luck if it cost more than £1.20. If paying more than this to make, then there is a fundamental lack of effort. So a huge mark up! Chips so cold the cheese didn't melt on them. The children's pack lunches where awful, poor sandwiches wrapped in a piece of cling film with only one side of the bread buttered, a poor effort for £5. It is a beautiful cafe, loads of space, no competition, in a perfect location and it is producing such poor quality, over priced food! The hospitality industry is on its knees begging to open and one of those can open are producing this awful offer. Pack lunch next time for us!

Highly recommend this pub/restaurant. 8 of us including a young child were made extremely welcome at a time when there was also a quiz night and the food and service were faultless. Between us we had starters including mushroom with goats cheese, duck spring rolls, calamari - empty plates all round. Then venison burgers, loin of venison, a lovely chicken dish, and choice of pizzas for the child. Everything cooked beautifully. I understand they now have an excellent team in the kitchen and we certainly can vouch for what we had. A great meal, and we are looking forward to returning.
