We heard great things about this new Gelato place in Wells and you could see by the queue outside during most of our stay they were popular so we decided to give it a go as the weather was Hot. So much choice we had to double scoop but choosing your flavours was the hardest part. The Gelato was that good we went back the following night. Well worth a scoop or two if in the area.

Delicious ice cream! We visited a few times on our holiday this year. Really helpful staff when we advised of a food allergy - very much appreciated. Definitely worth a visit when in Wells. We are big fans of the banana, coconut and rum & raisin ice cream flavours.

Amazing icecream, wonderfully friendly service. My children want us to move house to live in Wells because of this. My considered 10 year old has ruled this the best icecream place ever.

The onion bhaji-based chickpea and cauliflower vegetarian pasty was simply the best pasty EVER - and coming from a confirmed meat-eater born in the Westcountry, this is very high praise indeed. Brimming with filling and curry pastry, the Indian spices were aromatic - and certainly leaves you with wonderful hit of heat! We loved them so much we went to buy some more to take home with us. This place is just what Wells needs!

Popped in for a gelato at the end of a day's walking. An impromptu conversation about my t-shirt lead to another random conversation about the music they were playing. They are the loveliest people and the gelato (sticky toffee for me, white chocolate for my partner) was the perfect way to see out the day as we wandered back up the beach. Totally recommended!

We’ve been coming to Wells for many many years and have had an ice cream or 3 here before. HOWEVER now that the fantastic new owners Mark & Caroline have taken over we have been almost every day of our holiday. Wells Gelato is quality in every way. Flavour is bursting, friendliness is in abundance and all at a decent price. Pay a visit (make sure you give yourself time to choose from the huge selection of flavours) and enjoy the best gelato in Wells 🥰

Probably the biggest triple scoop gelato I’ve ever had and lovely espresso coffee as well… perfect to drop by for a pit stop on my 100 mile Sunday cycle ride in Norfolk 😃🚴🏻‍♂️🍨☕️ fabulous service from a lovely family business

Great gelato, really fun flavour selection and staff are so friendly. Can’t wait to come back, there were so many flavours that I wanted to try! Not the cheapest but it’s to be expected in Wells, and it’s well worth it! I went for malteasers and white chocolate kinder. Both were amazing.

They offer a range of flavours. I had a two scoop cone - one biscoff and one Nutella. A little disappointing as the biscoff flavour was very mild and the Nutella just tasted like plain chocolate. My husband tried the maltesaser gelato and again just tasted of plain chocolate with no malteaser pieces. On the plus side, the scoops are very generous.

Located right on the main road at the Quay. Good selection of flavours, waffle cones, flakes for the little ones and ‘older’ children of course. Prices are reasonable, I can’t see why anyone wouldn’t want to go there!

What lovely people who own this place! My husband and I went in as he was desperate for ice cream, I wasn't bothered, but after being offered the opportunity to try virtually every flavour, we both came out with 3 scoops each! 🤦‍♀️ The flavours were delicious, the texture of the Gelato was amazing, the hard part was deciding what to have! Owners were very welcoming, wouldn't hesitate to go back

This is the best ice cream in wells by far, huge range of flavours more than any other shop. The new owners are so lovely.

Perfect ice-cream stop! The gentleman kindly let me sample a few flavours before we made a decision! Great quality ice cream. We took advantage of their clean tables and chairs since the weather was cold.

Visited today with my family. The icecream was unbelievable. Extremely good. Portion size was very good value for money! Service was fantastic. The owners took their time to engage with my daughter. They were dog friendly too. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone that’s in the area.

Great location and friendly staff but ice cream tasted synthetic. It was not worth the wait or the price. A real disappointment.

Very disappointing. I had a scoop of vanilla and one thing it certainly didn’t taste of was vanilla. Very sloppy texture with a distinctly synthetic taste. There is far better ice cream in Wells. I will not be hurrying back.

We come to Wells often and revisted today. I met the new owner Mark he took over in May aparently, he was so lovely, a HUGE difference from the last person who was rude, and unwelcoming hence the previous reviews. He was just closing up...

Not sure why there’s so many bad reviews, we went last weekend and the ice cream was delicious and the service was friendly! The vegan chocolate ice cream was probably the best chocolate ice cream I have tasted!

Unfriendly service. Ice cream tasted ok- nothing special and not worth the price. I had a scoop of passionfruit that somehow had a bit of chocolate melted into it. Guessing the ice cream scooper was not cleaned prior to putting it in ice cream. Also...

Nice as long as you didn't go for the gluten free cone which just tasted weird.avoid....I've tasted much better. Best go for the tub.

This place was highly recommended, so we joined the queue. 45 minutes later we finally got served by the solitary server. She looked fed up and overwhelmed. Shame that only one person was serving. Might have been good to have another taking the money, obviously...

Very tasty ice-cream which was of course creamy! Really enjoyed the cherry cheesecake favour and my husband said the vanilla was perfect.

After waiting for over 30 minutes to be served - only one member of staff serving in half term on a very sunny day!! - not once did she apologise for the delay, my youngest just wanted a chocolate ice cream, nothing to be seen,...

had a 3 scoop ice cream lemon sorbet, honeycomb and bubblegum only one that had any taste was bubblegum. the young lad i knew and was trying to have laugh with but the old guy was rude as they were both was putting away ice...

Went here today, the woman behind the counter never once sanitised or washed her hands in between customers after touching money. Then touching the cones, wafers & spoons. This would be bad enough in normal times never mind covid times. Threw in the bin.

Sad to say that after queuing for what looked like lovely ice cream in various flavours we had four different types in two tubs and all were TASTELESS. UP YOUR FLAVOUR OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES

Long queue and good looking flavours from outside so assumed it would be good, but 5 of us each got an ice cream and they were all pretty tasteless. Mango didn’t taste of much, Ferrero rocher was just a bland vanilla with a few chocolates on top- not worth the money at all. And not cheap for what you get. The guy serving wasn’t wearing gloves either when handling all the wafers, which we would have preferred to have seen at the moment. Wouldn’t go again.

Being a great fan of ice cream and eating many around the great cities in Italy always love to eat a good quality ice cream whenever I get the opportunity and made a beeline for this place as soon as I saw it expecting a delightful mouth watering experience and have to say I was bitterly disappointed.I would rate the ice cream below average compared to others I have eaten and totally devoid of any real flavour and being by far the most expensive at £.4.50 for two scoops was expecting better and something outstanding.As they do not even use scoops and instead opt for flat bladed spatulas you are not even getting the declared two scoops and just the amount they can be bothered to wrestle with in an attempt to stick it on top of the cone and the measure I received was well short of my expectations and had to ask him to top it up which resulted in no more than another smear on the top of the existing small measure so not at all impressed.Had salted caramel and mango and so tasteless they just seemed to blend into one, I do wish I had carried on walking and joined the long queue for the other ice cream shop further down the road as they had a good selection and judging by the people waiting to be served must be pretty good and it was also a third cheaper in price.I felt ripped off at this place but would not have minded paying the extra had their ice cream justified the extra money but I did not even enjoy it and really annoyed I went here in the first place.

My family and I were on holiday and were more than impressed with the shop. A wide selection of interesting flavours and great service. Jack and Josh were very friendly and enthusiastic and were happy to offer us advice on the local area. The Norfolk fudge flavour is a must have!

Love this shop as it seems so authentic and the flavour selection is great. I would say it is a little pricey, but what you would expect at the seaside.

Two visits in two weeks, very impressed, great range of flavours and helpful friendly staff. Good social distancing, managed well by staff. We'll be back :-)

I don’t usually use Tripadvisor to write reviews however this is an exception! I came in to the ice cream shop today with my daughter having just had a lovely coffee from the Wells Deli. The lady behind the counter was very bubbly and welcoming. I opted for a scoop of Ferero Rocher however my daughter has a gluten intolerance and a peanut allergy so I was absolutely delighted to see that they offer gluten free cones. The lady kindly took the time despite the big queue (expected on a weekend though!) to take us through all the flavours that were peanut free from their great selection. Definitely some of my favourite ice cream that i’ve ever had - lovely way to put a smile on peoples faces after a tough few months.

Visited on Wednesday, it was our first icecream in over 11 weeks and it was lovely as always! Great choice of flavours, reasonably priced as the portions are huge! Great service from the lady who was working. Thank you for being open!

I was delighted to find Wells Ice Cream Company for the 1st time.Lovely ice cream, could not fault it but it was spoilt only by an oft repeated complaint of poor customer service which I had chosen to overlook. It is a small family run business and I would have expected more effort to attract customers as it is tucked away just off the Quay road past several ice cream shops.There was no smile or welcome and we were not asked how we wanted our ice cream, I didn't even get what I asked for. We were not spoken to. It was an uncomfortable atmosphere.It was mid afternoon and it was made obvious to us that the shop was closing. We said thank you and Goodbye but we did not receive a reply.My family stay in Sheringham a lot and love to visit Wells. The ice cream is wonderful but the customer service is letting the business down.Would I go back, Yes, I will give it another try.

Fist time visit to the ice cream company. Very nice icecream and cones plus a wafer. We went back on the Monday of half term and it was shut, which was a shame.

Great tasting ice cream and a very wide selection of delicious flavours. I can recommend the Turkish Delight flavour. Pleasant staff and service.

This was an amazing flavour experience. How do you get ice-cream to taste so much like apple crumble without it actually being apple crumble? The tastes are amazing, the range of flavours amazing. Impossible to walk past. You can take away, sit on the couple of seats outside or there is seating inside.

Have visited twice this weekend - my family and I popped in for a late ice cream on a Friday evening (they open until dusk) and then went in again the following day. The staff are generous and friendly and £2.60 for a single is a good price! Can recommend the banoffee, coffee, cherry, creme brûlée & white chocolate with pistachio flavours

What a find! A place where you can sit inside (or outside) with quirky furniture and a lovely atmosphere and eat ice cream. The staff were so lovely, polite and friendly and we came here several times during our stay locally. There was a massive choice of flavours, my favourite was the chocolate but will return to sample more. Great that you get a wafer too.

You can not go near the sea and not have an ice cream. On a hot day its really good. Plenty of choice here but soft whippy for us.

We always love an ice cream when by the sea. I had the most delicious white chocolate and pistacio flavour..... It was such a big portion too.....

Came here to get an ice cream after our tea of fish and chips and the ice cream selection was amazing; all sorts of different flavours. If I could I would try them all but thought it was cheeky. The staff were so helpful, and were full of enthusiasm. The two ladies behind the serving station were extremely pleasant and it was a very busy day and they were still smiling constantly! I would definitely recommend coming here to anyone who has a dog as well, this place to buy ice creams is very welcoming to all sorts of ages and dogs! If you would like an ice cream, this is the place to come!

Found this place on a visit to wells. What a great place. Amazing choice of ice cream treated myself to a sundae. Well worth the money. Offered lots of choice of sauce and toppings. Very friendly and courteous staff. I presume the lady who served me was the manager. Her product knowledge and friendliness was outstanding. Nothing was to much trouble This deserves 5 stars. Will definitely be visiting her again.

We visited every day of our holiday for a whole week, the ice cream was so delicious and the portion sizes so generous we were never tempted to go anywhere else. There was a great selection of flavours, some were changed every day and the staff were very friendly, always letting us have a small taste of a flavour we weren’t quite sure we would like. But we loved them all!

Visited on a Saturday mid morning in glorious sunshine. Decided to have a double scoop in a tub and a flat with coffee. Ice cream could not be faulted, one of, if not the best had in many a year. Great selection of flavours all vying for my attention, and settled on Jaffa Cake and also a Lemon flavour. If I had a complaint then it would be that the coffee (Flat white) was more a latte and also not that warm, but that’s me being picky as it was an ice cream we went in for.

Lets face it, ice cream has moved on in the last few years, and Wells Ice Cream is the best in town.

Lip lickingly good ice cream! Order the mint choc one and expect to coo involuntarily in pleasure. Try and muffle it with your coat as you won’t be able to help yourself. Bravo!

Despite going to Wells all the time I’d never found this Ice cream shop but am so pleased that I have now! Really delicious ice cream to eat in or take away, also do hot drinks etc.

No day trip to the seaside can be called complete without an ice cream. Locally made, the Wells ice cream shop offers many flavours to try with various options on quantity. Our choice of 2 scoops in a cornet for £4.50 could be considered expensive, but I received a large serving of delishously flavoured ice cream in a strong cornet. This is far superior to the what can be bought from a van in the street. Maybe not an everyday purchase but great for a treat. Toffee crisp with salted caramel recommended.

Stopped here for a tub of Well Icecrea it was simply delicious and you could really taste all the ingredients in the icecream.

As the title suggests in my opinion the ice cream was pricey for what it was and lacked flavour. Disappointing as they had lots of different flavours on display but they just didn’t taste of much. Looked better than what it actually was and at £4:50 for a cone with two scoops, we were expecting this to be really good. Fudge didn’t taste of much, strawberry was the same, salted caramel ok and the chocolate tasted artificial.

This place is always top of our list to visit when in the area! So many flavours of ice cream to pick from and they taste amazing ! My Husband is addicted! All we need now is take home tubs !

On a family visit to Wells, after walking round for most of the day we decided an ice cream on the way back to the car was needed. We picked the wrong ice cream shop! I ordered the Ferrero Roche. As the boy behind the counter scooped it, with a flat serving spoon I might add, it fell off in the lemon meringue ice cream. At this point you would think he would take that tray out and start again but you would be wrong! He scooped it back out and said oh well there's only a little bit on there. I politely said I'd rather there wasnt, he smiled and repeated again there's only a little bit. I firmly said, I'd rather there wasn't and you started again! There was an empty tub that I thought he was going to drop the ice cream into. Oh how wrong, he promptly put it Back into the Ferrero Roche pot and scooped from around it into the same cone he was holding. All 3 of us looked horrified and I quoted the words cross contamination which he didn't seem to understand. My issue with this is I had Not asked for lemon meringue, however if someone with a nut allergy comes in and asks for lemon meringue thinking it's safe it has been contaminated directly by the staff with nuts!! This kind of poor practice could result in a hospital visit or worse! My aunt had raspberry sorbet only to find some bubblegum ice cream in hers which tells me either the dropping of ice cream into different pots happens a lot or spoons are not being cleaned! A real shame as the ice cream brand itself is nice only tainted by the way its being delivered. I'd suggest staff should be trained on these issues and if that doesn't work the local hso goes in to sort this kind of poor hygiene practice out!

Found this to be so welcoming, staff remember us from earlier visits , very helpful when asked about where to get plasters, offered to let us use one of there still I could get some. Very helpful when a gentleman became poorly outside.

Another brilliant experience. Friendly chatty staff and polite. We ordered 4 one scoop ice creams. Very generous and a great flavour. Atmosphere great inside and out. Busy with tourists who were also very pleased at service and quality of ice creams and drinks. Lovely

We visited this ice cream bar a few times while we stayed in South Creake.

The staff were very pleasant and efficient, the cafe was very clean and welcoming, the ice cream was just superb - we highly recommend the hazelnut. We will be returning

A super, and unusual selection of homemade ice cream flavours, to eat in or takeaway. Didn't buy it but ice cream on hot waffle sounds wonderful.

For the quality it was reasonably priced with a wide variety of real ice cream to choose from, i had Toffee Crisp and the other half had Ferrero Rocher. Staff were helpful and very polite.

Having read reviews on here about rude staff I was a bit nervous going here. However the lady who served us was lovely and very generous with the portion sizes of the ice creams. Unfortunately I have to agree with others on here and so do my family in that the ice creams we had were very bland, I had raspberry ripple which had no flavour at all and then a passion fruit one which was better but I’d had to eat a lot of bland ice cream to get it and by the time I had, I just didn’t want anymore and I threw mine away with a lot left as did my son we didn’t go back either

Helpful and friendly girl behind the counter who managed to scrape together a serving of the ice cream I wanted. Most were sold out! Innovative delicious flavours (I had Key Lime Pie which was perfect!) I’ll be back !

We bought ice- creams here on two consecutive days with different staff on both occasions. I was really impressed by the pleasant helpful manner of them all, full of smiles even though they had probably been working flat out all day. The ice-cream was excellent with generous portions and lots of choice of flavours. A little gem of a place

Alarm bells should have rung when the server told the party in front that they couldn’t have cones with their sorbets...Surely they should have been advised and then given what they wanted? I had two young children with me who wanted cones, but needed cups. When I asked for their ice creams to be in cups with their cone each on top, was rudely advised that we’d have to be charged extra for the cones! Never before have I encountered this. When you’re paying top end for a paltry dollop of ice cream, surely a free paper cup isn’t too much to ask for? Will never buy ice cream here again! Unfriendly and over priced.

Avoid unless you want to be verbally abused by young rude girl behind the counter.

After a cloudy beach afternoon, I rescued it by having an icea cream at Wells. One scoop of raspberry sorbet with real fruit bits in it was sharp and refreshing. Another scoop of bubblegum flavour was a sweet contrast and surprisingly realistic in bubblegum flavour. Wells top it off with a light and crispy wafer. The sunshine came out so no time to savour this sweet treat, only to consume it rapidly!

We visited several times and tried a different flavour each time. My wifes favourite from the ones she tried was chocolate and my favourite was strawberry. Loads of flavours to choose from and great value for 1 scoop in a nice wafer cone.

We used to stay in the house by this shop so were keen to support it. My youngest and I decided we’d give it a go and had coconut and bubblegum ice creams. The ice creams themselves are ok but not really worth the £2.50 price tag for one scoop. I’ve had fantastic ice cream for less than half the price and even less all over the world and this was watery and uninspiring.

After a very hot day on the beach we drove to Wells to get some Fish and chips. Afterwards we treated ourselves to ice cream and Wells ice cream company had more than enough flavours for our fussy bunch. We all had different flavours and each one was lovely and the girls working hard at the end of a very hot day were still polite and patient as we all chose out flavours. A bit pricy but you get what you pay for and here you get gorgeous ice-cream and lovely service. Thank you

We are regulars in Wells and I was very sad to see a 12.5% increase in the price of the double scoop . Sorry but we chose to go somewhere else . The ice cream is delicious but it’s now too expensive

After a walk along the promenade an ice cream was called for and Wells Ice Cream Company did not disappoint. Fab lovely cheerful welcome and service we both had 2 scoop tub. I had the honeycomb and raspberry ripple, the ripple was a little disappointing in flavour but the honeycomb wow !! My husband had tutti frutti and Turkish delight the Turkish delight apparently was amazing ...at £4 each not the cheapest but scoops large and worth it !
