Cheap and cheerful town centre pub. No frills and friendly staff. Lots of TVs for sport if that's your thing. We just popped in for a quick pint - and a nice pint it was too. It does what it says on the tin this pub - a bit of a throwback to a bygone age for pubs - and all the better for it.

Looks better from the outside, if you don’t want to watch sport on television, best give it a miss. Says dog friendly, but I think that only applies to locals. Staff not very welcoming, but maybe they had had enough of the Christmas rush.

Great visit to The Wellington to watch the football while on holiday. All the staff were very welcoming, especially the landlady. Although it was very busy getting a drink at the bar was easy. Skittle alley where we watched the match eventually filled up with families and was a fun atmosphere. Locals were also very friendly and eager to chat and make recommendations. Would highly recommend anyone looking for a friendly, traditional pub which shows live sport.

We were on holiday and we saw the pub advertised a quiz on Wednesday as we passed it. We thought we’d give it a try. We had a great night, good fun and properly priced drinks, seriously half the price of other pretentious pubs in the area. Thanks for a fun night. Will definitely return next time we’re in the area. Cheers.

Unusual to find somewhere in Ilfracombe that is actually open. This is one highlight in a town which is a dying, decaying dump. Friendly helpful staff, reasonably priced drinks and a place where normal everyday people go.

Visited this great locals pub on our walking weekend. The bar staff were friendly and we didnt feel like we weren't locals at all. Lots of banter, people brought in their own takeaways. Vast array of age groups. Great selection of Gins at low prices, They had a heavy rock band in the back annex (Highway) who were amazing and very popular. Such a great fun atmosphere. Will defo be back.

Do not be put off by the outside and Sky Sports posters. This is a lovely little pub with very friendly staff, a nice garden area and a good selection of beer - at prices not too dis-similar from the local Wetherspoons! Well worth a visit!

We stumbled in here twice over the weekend - and were surprised how cheap drinks were with the double/mixer deal! Barman was very welcoming and - as it was warm - we sat in the back garden, which was very spacious (except when the British Lions vs SA was on!). This place has a very 'local feel' but we felt accepted, so thanks for that.

Popped in whlst waiting for my chinese takeaway over the road as i washed my hands, I was told I couldnt sit in one room and guided to another room where there was no seats but my drink was chucked on to a table half spilt. The staff were laughing with the locals and a bit offish with visitors..Next time i will find another pub

Nice pub with a decent beer garden. Operating outdoors only due to current Covid restrictions. Operating track and trace with separate entrance\exit. Beer well kept and nice friendly staff. Ilfracombe is small and theirs a Wetherspoons in town, The Wellington is competing on prices but this can only work if they get the people through the doors. I hope they do, really liked this place, visited every day.

We were on an evening walk when we almost strolled past this little pub. Decided to pop in, & found quite a vibrant local bar. The locals were very friendly & let us reach the bar where we were served immediately. Have to say it might suit the men most, as the football was being shown on a few tv's in the bar. Having spent an hour or so chatting to some locals & drinking some lovely ales called it a night. A really great visit.

Popped into this pub (lounge bar) Saturday evening as it all looked very attractive from the outside.Stood at the bar waiting to be served, not busy at all, but the barmaid simply ignored us, preferring to consult her mobile phone instead. We waited for several minutes in full view but left realising it just wasn't meant to be. Shame, as they did have both Tribute and Doombar on draught!

Really friendly pub. The owners are really nice and spoilt our dog with biscuits. The garden at the back is lovely - lots of tables and chairs all beautifully clean. Only thing missing is food which they are going to do or I would have given it 5 stars.

We visited Ilfracombe to check out the shops on a rainy day. After visiting the shops we popped into the Wellington Arms for a drink. The Cheltenham Festival was on their television and the atmosphere with the locals was brilliant. They had all put together to put a large bet on and the tension was incredible. The price of the drinks was reasonable and with the rain pouring down outside it was a special time.

Popped into the Wellington whilst looking for somewhere to get a Sunday lunch. Unfortunately the landlord had only been there a couple of weeks and he was still "feeling his way around". Having said that he was a very pleasant and polite guy and you got the feeling that once he was in the swing he would do okay.

The Sunday carvery is always scrummy and very popular. We've eaten here other times and always had great food including some very nice steaks. Staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming and happy to cater for different dietary requirements whenever possible. There's a lovely local ale, Tom's Tipple, and a wonderful beer garden for the summer and an open fire inside for the cooler months. Proper English pub!
