Stopped here as part of a Birthday trip to town . Love the layout..Its obviously been carefully restored to its former glory. Huge range of assorted beers / ciders .. Didn't quite do them all but gave it a shot !! Nice groovy Shoreditch vibe .. Didn't eat but food looked awesome .. A must if your local .. Recommended ! Enjoy !

Had a brilliant birthday at the Well and Bucket this weekend. The staff were fantastic and attentive, they made sure everyone was comfortable and they kept the drinks flowing. I do not remember the names of the staff, but one lady was British and the other was from Utah. Will definitely come back again! Paul

Visited on a Sunday night and the place was pretty quiet. The staff were not overly friendly, just took the order and served the drinks, no real interaction. Cocktails were pretty average, will give it a miss next time in the area.

We had a very nice time there. Our table was tucked at the back and not in the midst of the party, so we could hear each other and weren’t bumped by other people. Craft beers were really good, and barmen were nice to us. I also had a very nice booking experience, I wanted to book for 6:15pm but someone replied straight away saying they didn’t take bookings for drinks past 6pm- so I re-booked for 6pm although it looked like it was full, and my booking was accepted in minutes! I will come back.

The staff were very pleasant and the service very good. We were visiting at lunchtime and found it quite cool. We were sitting having a meal and all of us considered eating with coats on. We understand the position, heating a big space at lunchtime for a few people in difficult. Local heating? Our starters were really excellent. Main courses were good although the curry needed some extra sauce. We did not realise that the Christmas menu was only available if pre-booked. No coffee was available after our meal. All in all we decided we had picked the wrong place for our needs though we enjoyed the neck oil beer and still had a good chat.

We had an amazing time, it would not have gone better. Thanks so much for making it really simple and the cocktail were excellent!

Completely fine on all levels bar the pricing, which you'd expect for a London pub these days. Clean, nicely lit, no deafening music. I'll allow it.

I spoke with the manager re our night out twice in one day, the team got there without me and was told no orders had been made and they couldn't go downstairs until allocated time. Had a note from the team saying the barmaid was being quite rude. After speaking with someone I was told the manager had resolved - but after a very hindering start it definitely dampened what should've been a fun team night out.

Tried this place for a Sunday roast with my young adult children. Never again. Mature D' was stressed, rude and unfriendly. Rebuked us for arriving 10 mins early. We sat down at a vacant table temporarily while we waited to be allocated our own table. She brusquely evicted us. Music was good but, as with so many dining venues TOO LOUD. Everyone had to bellow just to make themselves heard. Awful. We left, and ate elsewhere. It was the best decision.

Me and the Mrs went here on a 32degree sunny Sunday afternoon and had an exceptional experience. We dined on a table outside the front of the establishment and were served by Joyce who was very sweet and attentive. We drank about 10 Long Island iced teas and ordered the vegetarian roast which was honestly delicious. Also orders the cauliflower and cheese and Padron peppers which I would recommend highly. Inside of the venue is very east London dive bar chic… nice if you like that kind of thing. There was also the option of the garden which didn’t go for as nice and hidden as it was we opted maximum heat out the front. Just like to thank all the staff and chefs for making it that much more enjoyable. 5/5 would recommend to friends and or family.

Went here with a friend, we were first customers there- staff were rude upon entry and rushed us through ordering/ paying process. Aperol spritz was advertised as £9 but on payment was charged £13.50 as it included 12.5% service charge. Staff didn’t make us aware of these details- there was also quite a few chicken bones in the Caesar salad and the chicken tasted old and hard. Won’t be going back

Staff were rude. Gin and tonic served 3 times with soda instead of tonic. Serve drinks and then advise you have 10 mins to drink before closing. No toilet breaks permitted before you go.

Well and Bucket is a lovely place to drink, the staff are fantastic (especially Cedric) I enjoy coming here on any occasion however every time I have been the music has been appalling. I have never been here once and enjoyed the music apart from back in 2018! When there was a delightful team on the bar in 5CC with the best disco / soul / hype beat playlist going, which is when myself and friends had the best night in shoreditch we have ever had! I would love to come back here again with an altered playlist that we can all have a lil boogie! Thank you and goodbye.

Well, we loved it, good bloody mary, beers and great oysters, my wife had a red which was a little off and was easily replaced, we really loved the quaint building and nice people, really lovely establishment.

Todos los demás miembros del personal han sido encantadores, pero ella tiene una actitud loca mientras servía y le dijo a mi amiga que "no le importaba" que era su cumpleaños. Si estás buscando un Sunday Roast inglés tradicional, no busques más. Todo, desde el Roast Beef hasta el queso de coliflor y el pudín de Yorkshire gigante, era para morirse. Buen ambiente. Llegue temprano para conseguir una mesa, de lo contrario puede comer en el bar. Durante la semana es principalmente mariscos, así que no es mi favorito, pero está lleno de gente local divertida.

Visited on Saturday for lunch, a bit disappointed that they opened a bit late especially when the bar man could clearly see we were stood out in the rain! Woman that opened the doors was apologetic though. Found the menu quite limited but when it came it was quite nice. Nice seating area out the back though. I do think they need to work a little on Customer Service though as whilst the Staff were not rude they were not over friendly either and certainly need a revamp on the menu which is quite limited. Somewhat overpriced for the food they offer in my view.

We visited whilst waiting for our Cat Cafe appointment, so had an hour in the dinky little 'garden' area at the back. The service was lovely, the surroundings were very nice - sitting in the sunshine and the loos were clean and pleasant.

Conocí a un amigo aquí para atrapar dos noches atrás. Incluso en la noche del lunes, que es ruidosa. Afortunadamente, encontramos un stand de esquina, que permitió un poco oír los otros. Pedí el garbanzo y slider de camote y el queso de cabra y ensalada de patata dulce con harissa. El control deslizante era bastante buena, crujiente y sabrosa mezcla de patata garbanzos. La ensalada era un buen tamaño de la porción, cargada con batata. La harissa añadido una bonita patada. No tuvimos ninguna bebida pero es un extenso menú (pero sólo una sidra desgraciadamente! ). Yo creo que este bar sería golpe venga jueves/viernes a la noche.

We went here for a drink as part of a friend's birthday. Having found a table we bought a round of drinks at £120 for five of us. About 15 minutes later we were abruptly asked to vacate our table by a waitress with all the skills of a concentration camp attendant. We were told the table was reserved and accused of moving the notice that stated this. We asked for proof which was not forthcoming no diary or record of reservation was provided. We were then asked to move by a young barman who was not happy with our protest. In the event we moved but are very disappointed by the attitude of the bar. A manager could have come along and at least offered a round or something to help. Not recommended. Social skills training for the staff would be a good idea.

Considering that there was only 3 tables of people in the place you would think it wouldn't be that hard to get the orders correct and out on time. Firstly there was a problem with the till, or the operator of the till, I'm not sure which one. They took our orders, quite basic, some burgers, sides of chips, a salad for another. The most basic item, the salad took over an hour to arrive, after asking 2 or 3 times where it was, two sides of chips turned up well after the burgers had already been eaten, so they weren't really "sides" per se were they. And the food quality was at best below average, the little burgers they provide could be made by my 4 year old daughter. On top of this, rip-off prices. Would eat food from a petrol station instead of this place.

Proprio incapace, prima mi sfila il piatto e il bicchiere dell'acqua mentre sto bevendo vino, obbligandomi a stare fermo,poi passa a prendere altri bicchieri infilandoci dentro le dita. In generale, poco cortese comunque.

I'm not one for writing bad reviews and don't get me wrong, I like the well and bucket (great pints and okay food) but me and a few friends went there for drinks and the barmaid who served us (pretty with brown hair) was so rude! I didn't try to read into her tone when she monotonously asked to see my ID but when we were outside having pleasant and civilised chats, she sighed so loudly that I can only assume it was directed towards us. I don't know what we said or did to upset her, I even gave an 80p tip when she served me lol. It was such a contrast to the other members of staff who served me whilst I was there, they were lovely! I've worked in bars before and I've been taught to only treat customers with kindness so I don't understand the negative behaviour and it's put me off going back

I really liked this pub, the food was excellent and the beers were well served and not with enormous queues even with the large amount of clientele present. On friday evenings it appears that pretty much most of the internal tables get booked up which I find annoying for a pub, but hey. Be warned the food is expensive: We thought that 6 sliders and some chips for £40 seemed a bit steep. But this is East London and frankly we enjoyed it. There is a small outdoor space with enough room for about 5 tables and people congregate out there when its hot. Interesting decor with a kind of 'day of the dead' theme to some of the pictures. I'll be going back for sure.

Interesting pub close to Brick Lane with a quite interesting selection of food - sliders, oysters as well as beer. Quite nice outdoor patio and nice indoor seating. It can get quite noisy due to funny acoustics in the upstairs room.

Pros: crab cheese fries (omg amazing!), good beer, cider and wine selection, buzzy atmosphere and a cool cocktail bar downstairs (though we didn't get a drink downstairs).Cons: the music was so loud that my ears were ringing loudly for about 4-5 hours after I left the pub (and I've been to a lot of concerts in my time!). We asked twice for it to be turned down, even slightly, but were told that it is "set permanently at this level and will not be changed". We had to shout so loudly above the music that all of us were hoarse afterwards. I cannot tell you how much this major drawback detracted from an otherwise lovely pub and nice evening - do not organise any kind of talking-based catch up or get together at this venue.

Lovely trendy little pub, ace Roast Beef, gravy and trimmings 10/10. Had a few oysters to start very fresh and plump. Great little wine list and some good beers on tap Sunday afternoon bliss.

I am probably not being fair in my view of the pub. Probably more enjoyable during the day but arriving at 9pm on a Friday evening to help celebrate my son's birthday we probably brought the average age of the customer down a little .Music was good but because there are no soft furnishings/curtains to absorb sound the result is that the music and chatter blend into a general clatter making conversation (for me anyway) difficult . Drinks were no more expensive then any other pubs in the area and service was perfectly decent On departure(using the gents) I noted a quieter cocktail bar in the basement which I may have found more enjoyable..Cant comment on the food as we ate earlier

Met a big group of friends here for a reunion. The Well and Bucket is a really great venue, lively and spacious. Good selection of craft beers and the chilli cheese chips were to die for! As the venue filled up it got pretty loud but in my opinion it added to the atmosphere. Would recommend for a group of mates, couples may prefer to head downstairs to the cocktail bar.

I usually avoid the upstairs bar because it is too noisy, but downstairs you find a bar where they serve food and excellent cocktails.We came fro a leaving dinner, and if you manage to get one of the booths, you have your own private party area within the bar. We went for a big round of oysters, lobster roll, the food is fresh and tasty, and all cocktails were expertly mixed.

Nice atmosphere, but the music is so loud that staff repeatedly and unapologetically take wrong orders, blame customers and then refuse to give you what you actually paid for.

It's nice to see this has been turned back into a pub again. A lot of the original victorian tiles have dissapeared but despite this the owner has done a good job. We had some nice beer but didn't try the food on this occasion.

Hidden under the Well & Bucket pub on Bethnal Green Road is this lovely little gem of a cocktail bar. Small and perfectly formed, it is a great spot to settle in for the cold evenings and chill with some great cocktail infusions. Prop yourself at the bar and enjoy the stories and recommendations from the bar team, or grab an alcove with friends/work colleagues.

Popped in for a couple with friends before going to the Food Festival in nearby Brick Lane. Great lager and IPA and the girls loved the almost fishbowl vodka and gin glasses.Great old school decor and relaxed feel, will return for sure...

Dropped in with some work colleagues on a Friday evening, it was pretty busy but we managed go downstairs to the cocktail bar and get a seat. We shared some sliders which were pretty tasty and they have a nice selection of local beers. If you want to talk it's quite noisy so not the place for a conversation but buzzing atmosphere and nicely done out place.

Came here on Saturday night for a friends sisters birthday party. Had heard good things and did not leave disappointed.Sitting between Shoreditch and Bethnal Green, this is a well placed and good looking Bar.A fairly large interior leads out to a quaint beer garden. Downstairs is a further bar, with a few romantic hideaways.The staff are efficient and there is a surprisingly decent selection of beers on tap on offer.I'd recommend this place, but get here early if you want to secure a seat, as it's fairly heaving by early evening!

Well and Bucket may not have the biggest selection of ales and beers in Britain, but in my experience it is. The selection from all over the British Isles was what drew me there on a stroll around the East End on a sunny, but blustery Spring day. The crowd was convivial, the noise level a bit high, and the food looked pretty standard, but good. Loved the big wooden bar and old-fashioned decor with modern touches. The crowd, skewed young and seemed to be having a very good time. But it was the Kentish ale that made the day.

We stopped in here on a food tour so I didn't directly work with the servers or bartenders. I can only comment on the atmosphere and the drinks. The wine choices and beer choices were extensive. It was a fun place to hang out - large bar, lots of tables and cool decor/history to the place.

i quite like the well and bucket, from the decor to the beer garden and the food even if a little over priced. The bar staff are generally great, the guys are very welcoming and nice, but, they are all let down by one sulky and out right rude girl with red hair. I am not one to right a bad review but a group of friends and I attended and all had the same experience, she is a perfect example if you don't like working in hospitality THEN DON'T, there is no need to be rude and dismissive when patrons are being nothing but polite, rolling her eyes when trying to order, dropping plates of food on your table without saying a word and storming off, standing there doing nothing while there are people waiting to order. To be honest I think someone needs to try a little harder or chose a job where she doesn't have to deal with the public, which is very obvious she hates to do. I want to be welcomed not snarled at.

Despite the title, quite like this pub, but it is trendy almost to the point of irritation. Firstly, keep forgetting they automatically serve pints in that latest fad, a dimpled jug, without asking; so have to keep requesting for a straight glass to transfer beer into. When I started drinking dimpled jugs were what the Lounge Bar side insisted on; ordinary folk in the Public Bar used straights. There are four constantly changing real ales on; and around 10 or so craft kegs; lots of interesting beers. Nice touch is partner's tomato juices don't come out of a bottle.Food options are good quality - lobster brioche roll was quite decent, crab, prawn and avocado salad very nice - put portions are minuscule for the prices charged. Mrs P is a very small eater, and even she came away musing about whether she'd had lunch, or a light snack?Will keep dropping in occasionally for the beers - and pleasant beer garden to the rear - but the food simply isn't good value if you're the sort of person who eats when they are actually hungry.As a pub would give it four stars; as a restaurant, two.

Everytime I've been here, its been heaving. Not a place for a quiet drink. The beer garden is very small. There is also a lounge bar downstairs. A good selection of beers & spirits, but the prices for drinks & food are a bit steep. Had Sunday roast which was £15.50 ea & a good size. The beef was thick and so tender, although fatty. Its hard to get a smile out of the staff, but maybe they are under it. They could be friendlier though. Not my favourite pub, but nice for one if going past.

A beautiully renovated building with a lovely, if tiny, outside area. The sliders are moorish and everything is clean and well presented. I went there with a group of work colleagues on a Friday evening and we prebooked a table, knowing it would be busy. Ufortunately, we couldn't stay. It was as busy as expected and the music was full blast. There was no chance of conversation. I did ask the barstaff to turn the music down, but my request was declined. So we left.

This is almost next to my house, so I was delighted when it opened. Its a beautifully restored room with a huge selection of beers and porters. They have a menu of oysters, sliders and snacks - I've love their pint of prawns and their Doctor Pepper braised brisket. Unfortunately it just gets unbelievably busy which is great for them but rubbish for me! I sometimes head downstairs into the little cocktail bar which is gorgeous - but even that gets very busy at the weekend. Really great cocktails though.
