Very convenient location next door to Bethnal Green tube station, good selection of lager but as a real ale drinker somewhat disappointing as no ales on handpumps and ws limited to a small choice bottled ales. Good venue with very friendly staff but rather noisy music to talk over and later was showing a Spanish football game on Sky sports so got a bit busier and noiser.

THEY CHARGED ME £3 FOR A GLASS OF SODA WATER, a half pint of soda (BLONDE BARTENDER).....seriously guys do u need money to pay bills?!?!?! a glass of water £3!!!!!!!!!!! shame on you!!!!went to the bathroom and toilet roll was missing, was smelly. glass of wine was served in a cheap glass at £6 and the blonde bartender didn't even asked me what size of wine i was after.... awful service, too expensive for the area as, also, beggars are just outside asking for change...

Probably the nearest thing to Walking into The Queen Vic! Next door to Bethnal Green tube station on the street corner - you can't miss it. The atmosphere is amazing, full of local accents but still really friendly. You can see the Bethnal Green tube disaster memorial across the road from the bar. The beers are mainly mass-produced lagers and a few bitters, so visit for the experience not the beers. Prices really cheap.

¡Qué noche tuve en Salmon and Ball!

Friends and I were here deciding on what drink to order when the proprietor antagonistically demanded to see our IDs or passports. He then, (presumably upon seeing we were not originally from the UK), aggressively grabbed my friend by the shoulder and shoved him out the door. Naturally my other friend and I followed, and upon us opening the door, the owner forcefully poked our chests (literally, not figuratively) and told us to never come back again. Overall it was an extremely terrible experience, not to mention frightening. The establishment also smelled of cat pee.

This place is very small inside, hot with limited beer choices. The prices are good though, £1 pint between 10-12 noon, and the prices incrementally go up as the day goes on. (if you want to drink that early!) No beer garden, so patrons spill out onto the pavement. The pub in on the corner of a busy intersection, right near a tube exit, so its noisy and busy outside. Sat nights there are bands which play at ridiculously high levels & there will no doubt be at least fight! There are nicer places up Bethnal Green road which have beer gardens, better drinks & nicer patrons.

This was the first pub we saw as soon as we got off the tube. The lads standing outside, having a smoke, were really friendly. We asked directions to our hotel; they discussed this matter among themselves before running inside to ask the bar staff. Very cheery punters! We had a few drinks in there during our stay in London and found it to be very friendly. The live music and people dancing made us feel most welcome.

attitude of the staff.

We had travelled down to London for a gig and stayed overnight at the nearby Travelodge. On the morning of our departure we decided to spend a couple of hours relaxing in the pub rather than rushing about sight seeing on limited time. This pub reminds me of what pubs used to be like (aside from the lack of smoking!) No frills and basic but we got a very friendly welcome from the staff. The prices were also great for London (no more expensive than up North). The whole atmosphere was relaxed with some good tunes playing in the background and best of all, the gorgeous pub cats were wandering about and came to say hello! We'll definitely drink here again next time we are in Bethnal Green - a great pub with great hospitality.

Fairly busy on the weekday evening we went, looked in on Friday and was packed.the male bar staff need to do double duty as bouncers, and as friendly as they were, I wouldn't want to upset any of them! quite a few people dropped in to catch the football game, but were sent out the door if they weren't buying drinks.Staff and patrons we spoke to were all from bethnal green, and we listened to their stories of the the old days and the current situation.Drinks were reasonable and were served up immediately.

We go for a run along the canal to victoria park and the weather has been lovely recently. It is our ritual to stop by the pavilion and get their baguette or pan au chocolat. But on the weekend i tried their brunch place and it was amazing!! I feel so lucky to have pavilion take up the park cafe as they are one of the best bakeries in london. Even their kimchi tastes authentic!

Had high hopes for this place. Oddly they only sell their own fruit fizzy drinks so no Coca Cola, sprite, etc that was a huge put off not having your fav cold proper fizzy drink to wash it all down!! Reminds me of Five guys poor cousin. They say free topping but they are not passable. Could hardly identify the grilled mushroom, and fried onion it was a complete caramelised mush under the bun. Plus they are passing off fresh cucumber as advertised on their menu board as pickle when it hasn’t been pickled. When someone says pickle as a topping on a burger I will assume it’s a gherkin so seeing sliced fresh cucumber under my bun was poor effort and they have no jalapeños but advertised it as a free topping. Overall package is disappointing good effort with the beef patty and bun but for £8 for a single burger with poor offering of toppings and bland warm chips that are sat around to get cold while one person is serving and flipping burgers and a weird selection of non identifiable drinks £11 is not good value. Won’t be going back

What a great place, sat in the sun by the water on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Life doesn’t get better. James and the team are friendly and on their game. They have 1/2 dozen different pies including one with rabbit and another brisket, I went for a beef marrowbone affair, huge and delicious. Guinness was as good as it gets. Defo put this on the list if you’re on the Canary Wharf area.
