Welcome Break Woodhall in Sheffield

The southbound entrance was not disability friendly. The ramp up is more of a ski slope. The rest of the facilities were great.

Woodall has to be one of the best service stations I have visited. The toilets are and facilities alike are very clean and hygienic, leading to a more enjoyable experience. There is a large number of food outlets providing a range of food and catering for most people who visit. There is also a bridge between the two sides, which can be helpful if you need to visit the other site.

My family and I turned up to order a boneless family bucket from KFC, only to be told you can only order via the kiosks. Out of the 4 self service kiosks non of the touch screens were responding which meant quite a lot of people couldn't order. They eventually agreed to take orders via the till so a few mins after we paid only to be then told, "sorry we cannot serve any of the meals that come with popcorn chicken so will have to refund you". I suggested that this rules out half the menu so would be happy with something substituted instead of the popcorn chicken". They said we can't think of what we could substitute them for so the money will be refunded in the next couple of days. Thankfully it wasn't my last £25 in the account otherwise we wouldn't be eating till we got home. My advice is to use one of the other food outlets instead, as the burger king meal my daughter had and Subway my wife and I had was fine. KFC - 0 stars, Burger King - 5 stars, & Subway - 4 stars. Overall - 3 stars.

Got 2 large boxes 1 with chicken curry egg fried rice, chicken chilli, terayki curry, and 1 with veg noodles chicken curry salt/pepper potatoes. I was delicious best takeaway I've had in a long while. Bit on the pricey side but worth it. Staff were fast serving and friendly

You buy most expensive drinks coffee and food. The money travelers spend do not seem to go to clean filthy toilets inside.

This service station was an ideal break point for our trip to to legoland and back from the North East. KFC, Chopstix, Burger King and Starbucks and subway were the choices. Slightly expensive but no more so than other than other service stations. Service was slow on the way down but fine on return. Clean facilities as expected these days.

We stopped off here on a Saturday morning and two coaches arrived. It was clean and fresh and the staff were so lovely. I dropped my roll and they replaced it for me. I'd use these services again as not all service stations are so clean.

The Starbucks is poor. The guy on the til is just about, through the skin of his very gritted teeth, polite. The pastries were very overpriced and stale. Wouldn't recommend but sometimes there is no choice at motorway services.

We stopped of here for s comfort break. There were two of us plus Lily the dog. Lily's bowl was empty outside in spite of protestations that they like caring for dogs. I sorted the problem out in the ladies' loo. My partner went for a coffee at Starbucks but in spite of queuing could not get a deaf coffee. Next time I think we will go further down the motorway because this stop was too much hard work.

Services station is in a good location, easy to access! Lots of variety of options and quick service

Got to be the worst ever. The staff gave no interest whatsoever and giggled whilst giving no service at all ! I paid £14 for a dreadful meal which was Inedible. Do yourself a favour and never visit this so called establishment.

Used the toilets here today. What a horrible experience. Disabled toilet closed, as was Women's toilet, so men and women all had to use the Men's. Smelly, dirty floors, worse than many school toilets. Never again will I stop here at Woodall, as I couldn't bring myself to go in there again. Quite run down entrance too. Not a one off, as when we got out of the car, my husband warned me that this was a run-down place.

I went in Woodall Services at 11:30this morning and encountered a very rude member of staff. I queued up behind another customer only to be barked at by a member of staff telling me to "queue the other side". No please, or can you, just a bad tempered, humiliating order. I don't know if this lady was having a bad day or just didn't like preparing food. But her manner towards an unsuspecting customer that had no previous engagement with her is astounding. I am not going to threaten to never use Welcome Break again but, I won't spend my hard earned money of premium priced food and drink that helps to pay the wages of rude staff. One other thing, I thought it was usual to cover your loose hair when preparing food, or is that just for everyone else?

Had my regular chocolate frappe at Starbucks and they made it far to strong, I took it back and said I did not like it after one sip. Their reply was sorry there was nothing they could do unless I bought another one!they did not even offer to remake it. Their excuse was 'its costing our stock' poor excuse and abysmal customer service.

This is a dreadful place. We parked up in a fairly empty northbound car park on a cold afternoon in January ready for a break having been delayed on the motorway by an accident. What can I say? Smelly toilets, expensive cash machine, no supermarket outlet, Subway sandwich bar closing down at 4 pm, expensive Costa Coffee and Noodle bar. No atmosphere at all. There is a Waitrose on the south sides accessible via a cold badly lit bridge which doesn’t even take you to the shops. You have to go via the side of the motorway and through the car park. The Waitrose itself is one of the smallest and poorest equipped I have seen and with a single scotch egg costing over two pounds….don’t bother Do yourselves a favour and plan your journey to stop either at the Nottingham Services or an excellent pub near Junction 26.

Stopped here for a toilet break and lunch at burger king. Services is getting old and dated and needs a good refresh. Food at burger king on our visit was actual good. Hot, fresh and tasty. Other than that this is just your standard type motorway service station.

Poor quality breakfast- ordered 2 breakfast at good breakfast as subway was unsuitable for the time of the day.& Starbucks had overpriced panini and pastries. Waitrose had cold food options only. Bap was y toasted and soft, no butter / spread on sight, only sauces. The quorn sausage and the bacon were dry and chewy, doesn’t justify the price charged, had to bin it -waste of money and food. Staff at WHSmith was very welcoming and had a pleasant smile👍

Called here as stop on journey .Services need revamping-not a lot here .Starbucks Coffees on the South side were very good though- excellent flat whites

Cleanliness is next to..... Actually cleanliness is nowhere near Woodall Services. No one must check this place out. The local managers, area managers nor headoffice check ups. They must be making so much money they simply don't care. Decided not to eat here. Scuffy.

Needing breakfast, we arrived at 8:00 am to a very quiet car park. No more than 20 vehicles parked was strange but on entering the deserted public area, the Marie Celeste atmosphere was eerie. One couple were being served breakfast, W H Smith was open but the remaining outlets were all in darkness with no one else around. A sign at the servery announced "no hot drinks available" saw us breaking ranks with two of our group heading to a rather quiet Starbucks for drinks whilst the rest of us waited to get our mega breakfasts. Before ordering, I was advised that there was no hot water on site so forget the food - head to the loo and move on to the next area. Interestingly the toilets had loads of hot water although the womenfolk inn our group described the ladies toilets as absolutely disgusting. Yep the standards in Welcome Break appear to be getting maintained to their usual low level.

Los servicios en Woodall son quizás mis favoritos, y paso casi todas las veces cuando paso por la M 1. Esta vez, opté por una comida en KFC, que era deliciosa (mejor que muchas otras KFC que he visitado) y sorprendentemente buena relación calidad-precio por los servicios. So I ordered a hot chocolate with soya milk. (I'm not lactose intolrent, I just prefer the taste) from this location. I watched the barista make the drink with normal milk and the normal green cloth to wipe the steam wands before hand. I asked if this is with soya milk and said no. He remade the drink and again before the wand was clean he used the green cloth (this is used for normal milk) to clean the steam wand. Now I'm not lactose intolerant and can digest normal milk however if this was someone else that couldn't then may have a completely different situation on their hands.

Apareció aquí en nuestro viaje de regreso a casa para usar los baños. Ojalá no hubiéramos tenido. Los baños de mujeres eran repugnantes; sucio y no pude encontrar un cubículo bloqueado! ! Había una gran cola y nadie podía decir si los cubículos estaban ocupados o no, por lo que la gente estaba orando por el lado de la precaución y no usando, o caminando sobre el usuario del inodoro. Realmente decepcionante Utilizará Tibsheld en el futuro.

Bueno, ¡no pienses que esto va a bajar demasiado bien! Visité Starbucks para tomar un café ayer por la tarde. ¡El café rápido no es exactamente la frase! It is what it is, a motorway service area. Clean toilets and a choice of food outlets. Coach bays a bit far away from entrance for elderly or disabled passengers. As good a place as any other on the motorways.

Called here on a coach trip,used the loo's they was very clean and smell free.Plenty of outlets for food and drink,got a coffee from Subway simply as it had the shortest wait.Was pleased to find it was really good coffee. Will get it again. A good place to stop.

This is one of the better services. Given its location I don't find it quite so busy as some of the more southern services hence not so chaotic in the car park! It has everything you need in close proximity. its very clean and reasonably modern. the staff I find are very friendly - service with a smile in WHSmith and told to have a good evening. I always stop here on my route north. Theres usually plenty of places to sit and eat too even during rush hour.

We were pleasantly surprised by the upgrade to the toilet facilities on the Southbound services but on returning North ......What a difference !! Come on ,lets see some improvements this is a poor gateway to the North.

I often stop here as the services have a good range of outlets including a small Waitrose store and a Smiths. It has Starbucks coffee which I like and a Harry Ramsdens which is good for breakfasts. It is inevitably busy but I have usually found it clean and easy to get around. The Waitrose is on the southbund side but there is a bridge across the motorway if you are going north. There is also a hotel on the site, ATM and obviously the usual range of fuel and car essentials. Would definitely call here next time I am on the M1 in the vicinity of Sheffield.

My god everything close there & we had KFC stay in Q for 45 minutes only 2 girl working to much expensive as well we had chicken hot wings not great all gone to bin

Stopped here due to the choice of food, mcd's, subway, kfc, Costa. Busy but not too bad and service was fine. Would stop here again.

Visited this Easter weekend. Plenty of food outlets but the price is more than normal. Normal for motorway services. Shops are good and plenty of seating inside. Services looked clean and plenty of car park spaces.

Thee es una buena cantidad de aparcamiento en el exterior y esta estación de servicio es alta por lo que puede ser frío y lluvioso. Fuimos a Starbucks para tomar una copa. Ambos eran aright pero dado que era una estación de servicio fueron ambos un poco caro, pero eso es lo que esperaría en la M1.

As far as services go not bad at all. Toilets are modern and as clean as they can make them considering the people who don't seem to know how to wee in the loo not on it and the floor. Good choice of food and a shop for mags etc. One of the better ones.

Went to the Subway at the services. All standard stuff really. It was clean, it wasn't noisy. Fine.We sat in the Starbucks and sometimes they get a bit sniffy about it but there was no issue at all with doing it. There really isn't enough seating in the Subway.Facilities were fine too.

Stopped in for a bit of tea at KFC, got horrendous service and waited 15 minute's to be served because there where only 1 person serving with a que of about 10 people! When I got my meal I asked for a large pop corn chicken meal and got half a box of chicken, cold chips and no condiments which the girl said she had put in after asking. I went back to the counter to be ignored with my complaint. I ended up going to mcdonalds which was loverly! Don't go to this KFC!

Drivers usually stop here for the toilet break, seeing the state of them put me off eating here. They could do with a complete deep clean or renewal. On leaving I couldn't any exit or direction signage, seeing drivers almost colliding with each other I gathered they were having the same problem.

I don't recall visiting Woodall Services on the M1 before but it was a good stop. A sandwich from Waitrose and a good coffee hit the spot.

My little boy was sick all over on our travels we stopped here and the whsmith staff gave us the shower key and a bin bag to clean him up and change his clothes. Very helpful. The toilets are very clean and the tea is lovely we had a lovely pot of Yorkshire tea from Harry Ramsdens. Also picked up a neck cushion and star wars toy for our son who was feeling abit worse for wear.Will stop here again thanks.

Ordering a children's meal that cost £3.50 to get a dry piece of bread, two slices of turkey and a tiny triangle of cheese! Is this what constitutes a healthy lunch for children?!! When asking the beyond awful server if he was actually going to put enough filling in the sandwich to actually cover the bread he replied with these cheese triangles are an extra 90p each! Jokers!

Not reviewing the food as everyone know what they get from a Maccy D's. The staff in this McDonald's are always pleasant and friendly. They stand out from all other similar places. They are special.

Had driven to Sheffield to attend the Arena and was staying on site overnight. Very poor signage for the on site hotel, as first sign I saw was after I had actually spotted the hotel! Services are split across the motorway, with a covered bridge over the motorway acting as access. Very dated and not very clean. Could do with a bit of paint to brighten the interior of the bridge and stairs up. Typical establishments on site, but I have been at far better and welcoming service areas in the country

Easy access from the car park to the food areas for me with my walking frame. The place was quite busy (as might be expected for Sunday early afternoon) so the queues moved quite slowly.The biggest issue for me was the continuous scraping of chairs on hard floors - it really is awful and I have to ask; why can't the floors be of something softer and less noisy?

We usually choose to stop here when travelling up and down the MI because it is a comprehensive service station, easily accessible from the road, and has a reasonable range of facilities. Toilets have always been clean and service efficient in the food areas. There is a stationers and a well stocked small Waitrose shop. Food and drinks outlets include KFC, McDonalds, Starbucks, Burger King and Harry Ramsden's fish and chips. All are accessible from north and south-bound carriageways of the motorway.

A popular calling in spot when heading south, good quality food outlets and coffee shops , snacks and newspapers easy access in and out great for a quick stop.

With a range of different foods, this seems one of the better services with McDonalds, KFC, Costa and a Burger King across the bridge, this is quite diverse. Also a WH Smith.
