Great food for an honest price very friendly staff the steak was actually rare as requested the fish was excellent. The mini desserts are a treat

Arrived for a treat as my girlfriend had just worked a long day shift. We sat outside as it was warm and afternoon.My gf ordered half rack of ribs with sweet potato fried and I ordered fish and chunky chips. The food arrived after a little wait and I was shocked at the plate they put in front of me. The fish was so overcooked that when I attempted to cut it the batter shattered into lots of pieces and was awful. Also I ordered chunky chips, but instead was given fries. The portion was very sparse and also overcooked..When the waitress brought the food out she must have noticed how poor it was, but still delivered it to the table. I got up and returned my plate of food and to be fair the staff ordered me a fresh fish fish and chips to be cooked. Whilst waiting my gf continued to eat her food as didn’t want it to get cold whilst waiting for my food to arrive. She had nearly finished her food, When it finally arrived and the fish was cooked ok this time. Fries had lots of overcooked ones again , but was hungry so just ate what I could of them. For £18,95 or something like that I definitely expected better, would have been better off going to the local chip chop. Better quality food and a much lesser price tag. Very disappointing experience and definitely not worth the money charged.

Lovely place to visit even just for drinks. Weather was lovely so sat out in the beer garden soaking up the sun. Everywhere was clean and tidy and staff were fantastic. Went above and beyond to make sure our drinks were made to our satisfaction. Will always be a place we come back too.

We came to Harpers after work due to the weather being so beautiful and we couldn’t resist the calling of a nice bear garden which Harpers has. We were greeted by Gracie who was very welcoming we explained that we wanted to eat and drink in the beer garden which she told us wouldn’t be a problem. Gracie gladly took our order for two buttermilk chicken burgers and two bottles of bud. Gracie brought our drinks and food promptly and we really enjoyed a nice relaxing dinner in the sunny beer garden. This was our second visit and we will look forward to many more !

First time we have visited Harpers Weighbridge. On arrival outside there was litter and cigarette ends everywhere which was not a good first impression. The astro turf was soaked throughout and made it difficult to walk up and down the slope into the entrance. The bar area only had six bar stools, not comfortable for pre drinks. We sat down for our food, after a long wait to order we had to repeatedly try and get the waitresses attention to take our order. The food arrived after waiting for one hour, each dish was over cooked and cold. The fries were the small ends that you get, with only four reasonably sized chips, and just filled the basket. The coleslaw and sides you would need a magnifying glass to see the portions and the pots were half filled. The prawn skewer was unimpressive. When we ordered more drinks again the service was slow. The waitress was not very attentive throughout and to get any service we had to keep trying to get her attention, because of this we decided that we would not stay for desserts and more drinks. The restaurant was not busy. Around us the tables had not been cleared, the floor was dirty and plenty of cobwebs above us. The toilets were not clean.

Nice building but food was poor and over priced. Selling £13 bottles of wine for £39. While I understand wine prices are more in restaurants a 300% mark up is not called for. Food was also poor for the price. Filet steak was over cooked. Rib eye was a poor cut and very tough. Not what you expect for the price. Would not go back.

Lovely food, perfectly balanced. Our server Asha was very attentive and always smiling, definitely recommend for a fun and relaxing meal!

Had an absolute amazing meal everything was perfect. We also had an amazing waitress who was very helpful and cheerful to us, I think she said her name was bliss.

The Lady manager with blondish purple hair was seemingly annoyed we knocked on the door at 09:59. She opened it up saying she needs her sleep. she then proceeded to sit us on a small rickety table by the entrance, when the whole restauranut was empty. I didnt like her attitude from the first minute she opened that door . She gave us a filthy look and while sat all we could hear was her moaning about stuff! The waitress was very good, but seemed to me like the elder manager if that what she was supposed to be was not the person you would want running the place. Shame as the food was lovely. We cane here a couple months ago and it was great service and this lady was not working

Went for food with some mates some had steaks others had burgers etc food tasted amazing and the staff were very polite and super helpful. Our servers were Leah and Suzi and they were extremely helpful and did everything possible to make it a great experience. Will be coming back again soon.

As a local we do enjoy the Weighbridge for its atmosphere, food and drinks, but it is also a great alternative to 'Working From Home'. Zoe is very attentive and gives great service.

Lovely food overall. Very good food but today my steak was undercooked. The steak came undercooked and I had to send it back for more cooking. When it came back to the table was completely dry and tasteless. But the server was lovely and she made sure I was ok. She offered to change my steak but I refused as I couldn’t wait for another 30-40 minutes. Zoe was really wonderful and helpful. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their food and it was lovely. I was just unlucky.

Looking for a comfortable place for brunch with my daughter before I headed back down the motorway, easy to find, good parking and set in a historic building which I thought was fantastic. This place met all our requirements: chilled venue, lovely staff, good menu and choice, lovely coffee and a decent breakfast all for less than £13.50 a head. Very happy and left with full bellies! Zoe was warm and friendly and an attentive host. A definite return visit for dinner next time, will be made.

We have driven past this pub many times on the way home from Swindon Outlet Centre, but we'd never been in before today. We expected it to be like a Greene King, Wetherspoons, or a Marston's pub with a kids' play area, but we were pleasantly surprised when we went inside. We had a Sunday roast dinner, which was lovely - although one small criticism - the potatoes, we couldn't tell if they were boiled or roasted, but however, we ate them and enjoyed our meals. The staff were all very young, but they were welcoming, friendly, and polite.

We had an amazing time. We had booked for a 3 course meal (19 of us) for a Wedding Party. We were able to have the whole of the upstairs for our Party which made it even more special. We were allowed to go the previous evening to decorate it how we liked. Amber and Natalie were the 2 people designated to serving us and were super efficient. Visited Sat pm for family 21st birthday. Exceptional service. All made welcome and every detail spot on when it came to the order. Enjoyed a relaxed evening with great food. Family had a mix of steaks and burger, everyone enjoyed their meal. Also enjoyed the cocktails and other drinks. Bliss was our waitress and she was great at looking after us. The old building has a mix of very old and very new creating a great atmosphere - music could be heard but not intrusive. Perfect for a family gathering and highly suitable for that special occasion or when you want something a bit different.

We turned up hideously late due to a work emergency but were very kindly accommodated. The roast dinners were fresh and piping hot, extra gravy, allergy duly noted and perfect the first time (we have issues in a lot of places with this but never here). Lovely atmosphere as always and great staff. Another great meal at Harpers, thank you to all.

3 of us meet at Harpers for a business meeting over lunch - so no alcohol I am afraid. Nice veneue - clean, tidy & well organised. Great food, amazing cocktails and brilliant service. This was on track for a 5 star rating. What we hadn’t realised was that they shut so early. Last orders at 9:40pm so we ordered another cocktail. We were asked to pay the bill as they wanted to close the till. From that point onwards it was very clear that they wanted us out of the door PDQ particularly when being told at 10:15pm that we had 5/10 minutes before they closed. It was not the best end to what had been a great night. Not sure if we will return.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable lunch at Harpers Swindon we had their three course menu which was extremely good value our waitress Zoe was excellent friendly and very efficient in her role she gave us 5 star service and made our visit special for my wife birthday

It's a fairly nice looking place. Like a warehouse size, pleasantly decked out. Lots of space to park, staff looked smart, friendly and attentive. The thing which let the place down for me was the food. To be fair, had I gone for a steak or burger maybe it would've been different. I opted for the tacos. I had a fish, a pulled pork and a chicken one. It was all cooked ok and presented well enough but the tacos were small and soft, just mini tortillas really with fillings reminiscent of something you'd buy in Iceland and make in an air fryer. Had an inexpensive feel about it. The loaded tater tots had the texture of gnocchi, soft and chewy when I wanted them to feel more firm, fried. The sauce was just like a cheap chemically tasting effort from a bottle rather than something invented by the chef. Dessert was a little better, apple pie and ice cream but it was not home made etc, not difficult to get wrong. Service was friendly. Not terribly cheap although not very expensive either. Just a very average experience. Sorry guys, just not exciting for me.

My husband and I had a really lovely visit to Harper’s tonight and enjoyed our time. It was very cold outside but a perfect warm temperature inside, we were seated about halfway down the restaurant. It was a good atmosphere, not too loud and reasonably busy, but not packed. Our booking was for 7:15pm and we’d only booked at about 5:30pm so we were pleased to get in. Zoe was our waiter and served us well and was friendly and attentive throughout our visit and we were happy to tip as the staff work so hard. Harper’s is more of a ‘treat’ or ‘occasion’ visit for us and our budget, so we took advantage of a coupon we had received on the mailing list for ‘Black Friday’. We enjoyed two cocktails each, plus a sharing steak platter for two, with the choice of 1/2 rack of ribs. The rib-eye steak in particular was lovely. After adding some extra sides it was a good amount to share, but it was noticeable that the sides appeared to have less in them than on previous occasions, so that was a bit disappointing. We had dessert of a waffle with smores and ice-cream for my husband, and I had the lemon cheesecake which was absolutely divine, with a kind of ‘whipped’ airy texture and tasted perfectly ‘zesty’. For improvement, the toilet bowls/pans in the ladies need an industrial clean on a regular basis to keep on top of what is probably hard water brown staining (it’s in an identical place on more than one toilet so it’s not ‘you-know-what’). Also, when you’re in a cubicle and looking at the locked door, you can see that the inside of the doorframe is filthy. The hand dryer also needs a deep clean, particularly just above where the air comes out. Outside, the car park (both sides) is not well lit and the parking lines are hard to see in a number of spaces - and I noted this as a passenger not the driver. We would revisit on occasion.

One of the best Sunday dinners I have ever had in a restaurant. A big, claim, maybe, but I stand by it. The meat was delicious, vegetables were amazing , especially the roast potatoes that had a delicious coating on them. The Yorkies were amazing and huge! The service was efficient and very friendly.

Arrived at 1718 for our 1730 booking. Table was ready so we were immediately seated and left with food & drinks menus. Zoe came over after a few minutes to take our drinks order and when she delivered the drinks the food order was taken. We found Zoe to be super efficient and very friendly. As we only had one course we were leaving the restaurant within an hour so very quick service, I would think it would be a little longer at a busier time, as the restaurant was very quiet when we arrived. We will definitely be booking again soon for a larger family group meal.

The good - very good Sunday roast for the carnivores. Excellent Yorky, flavoursome gravy. The not so good - the portion of nut roast served to our veggie member was pitiful. It tasted nice but for the money he portion was tiny. Disappointing. The drinks are expensive and, like many restaurants, the draft beers have no price displayed on menus ( cans and bottles did ). Why ? Just let customers know before they see the final bill ! The bad - there were 6 diners. One was a slower eater than others. Our server (won't name her) started clearing the plates before all had finished eating. That is rude. We did point it out but some plates were still taken. Table service 101 - do not clear a table until all guests have finished eating. So, nice food in the main, disappointing service but I would consider going again.

I had an outstanding experience at Gosh for Sunday dinner. The food was delectable, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The spacious and well-lit ambiance added to the overall positive dining experience. The cleanliness and tidiness were noteworthy, and considering the delicious offerings, the prices were reasonable. I'm definitely planning a return visit.

Been a few times before as my daughter loves their ribs but this time was for the Sunday Roast. As always the setting is lovely and the service was excellent, Zoe who looked after us was super friendly and helpful. The food is on the pricey side but as a celebration restaurant they top Miller and Carter as our new local fav. Food and service better, comparable on price but much more relaxed vibe and way less pretentious.
