Shower not the best power either. Thankfully able to book late checkout to shower after marathon . Only for the one night pre-marathon, now home for a nights kip.

Me and my family attended your hall for afternoon tea the cost was £30 pound per person. For that you got 4 finger sandwiches a sausage roll and a bargee for dessert there was scone with cream and jam small cheese cake and a small sticky toffee pudding a chocolate tart the size of a 10 pence piece. There were 3 of us so this 3 times £60 as one was a 2 for 1 Groupon voucher. I thought that this was disgustingly high priced and not enough food. The waiters were lovely. I have been previously when the afternoon tea was beautiful hence our return. We will not be returning so very disappointed.

Took my partner on a date afternoon ,afternoon tea to Westwood hall as it came up in the top 10 afternoon teas in Leeds. 66£ for what was maybe a 12£ - and that’s being generous - platter of what can be called 2 bite sandwiches which can be made at home for one tenth the price, one bite cakes which defiantly did not taste like they were made fresh and go find a member of staff even tho it’s empty for a coffee top up even though there was only us and a handful of other people in there. If I had known how poor it was going to be I wouldn’t have bothered the platter was NOTHING like what’s advertised on the website. Where was the wooden awesome looking display that it shows on the website. Certainly not on our table, very very disappointing and we certainly wouldn’t ever recommend afternoon tea there. Very over priced for a mediocre afternoon tea.

Restaurant pricey and not much selection, pizza, fish and chips, burger .. also the stables pub, similar menu but cheaper .. all-in-all nice place to stay .. ideal for Emmerdale Tour stay, with coach provided at New Inn Pub ... try Lord Dacey pub for good cheaper meal, but can be busy.

We booked here as it's close to the Emmerdale tour, we booked 2 feature rooms. On arrival having collected our room keys, we we went to our rooms and they wasn't the rooms we booked. We spoke to Dom at reception and after a 10 minute wait whilst 3 members of staff discussed us, he said he had 2 rooms he could show us. However, he said we were really lucky because these rooms were expensive! The first room he showed us was the exact room we should have been given on arrival, the second room had used tissues on the bed! He tried to hide it but we had already seen it, plus the stains on the cushions that went with it! We were swiftly moved on to room 3, and once again it was a room we had booked. He said that our booking had come through to them as something totally different! We took the rooms, as they were what we booked, however the towels were stained and the dressing gowns needed replacing, at this point we just wanted to get on with our one night away so didn't want to waste any more time in reception complaining. Also we should have had fans in the rooms, which were missing from the cupboard. All in all it was a disappointing stay.

I had a friend visiting from Canada, so I wanted to show her a quintessential English afternoon tea experience. I chose Weetwood Hall because it looked impressive from the photos and I assumed there would either be a nice pleasant green view from the dining area or that we would be able to enjoy the good weather on a table outside. We made a booking in advance and upon arrival were directed to the bar. After 5 minutes of waiting at the bar without being acknowledged and the barman seemingly being unable to see us and also serving people drinks who had arrived to the bar afterwards I caught the attention of a girl and told her we were waiting for afternoon tea - she said okay one minute and I'll be right with you. Another 5 minutes went by and still the barman was ignoring us and serving drinks to more people who arrived after us - eventually I just had to butt in and stop him serving yet more people who had arrived after us. Then he finally took us to our table. The room was quiet and also we were the only people there, so the atmosphere didn't feel great. The only view we had was of a big table made up for a wedding on the patio area. I asked if we could sit outside somewhere and was refused - the waiter mumbled a reason why but we didn't really understand - there are tables outside so why could we not sit there? The afternoon tea was brought out, but no plates to eat off. After a few minutes of wondering if the waiter was coming back I had to get up and ask for some plates at the bar. The sandwiches were not great, and the ones with meat were quite dry. However the sweet treats were good. Its just a shame that the one experience my friend from Canada had was not what it was meant to be. I hoped for nice light views and friendly service, however the atmosphere was poor and the service was worse. I wish I had chosen somewhere else to take my friend for afternoon tea. This was at 3pm on Saturday 28th May.

Stayed overnight for a function. Booked well in advance. MC was very good and professional nothing too much trouble. Venue was well set out and the food was excellent and service was really good throughout the meal. Breakfast the following morning was really nice but the guy asking for room number also asked if we wanted tea or coffee but proceeded to do nothing with the information. We had to asked another member of staff for our beverages as did every one else. So why the first guy asked what we wanted no one knows. Several staff on hand but only one older guy seemed to be attending to guests needs. Other staff stood around not doing anything rather than checking if you needed beverages etc. The major let down was the bar service the previous evening. Non of the staff seemed familiar with the bar, types of drink or how to serve effectively and promptly. 30 mins for order was unacceptable. We were told to use the other bar as service would be quicker no Guinness there so had to come back already run out. Guinness then ran out in both bars. San Miguel, ran out as did bottles of lemonade too. These were examples of deficiencies I know when trying to order. Asked for lime and lemonade got asked if I wanted a double! £4.15 was the price charged, 85p for the shot of lime. £44 for two bottles of house wine. You expect drinks to be more expensive than a normal public house but these prices were extortionate. The Carlsberg was the only lager left it wasn’t very palatable leaving only cider on draught that was satisfactory. The room was good but the bar service was shocking. Huge queues, very little choice and pitifully slow service. No idea how they would cope if it was busier.

Had a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea. The food was very nice but a few touches would have improved it such as sultana scones instead of plain scones and warm churros with chocolate dip. Overall the quality of the food was v good and all presented well. However what let Weetwood down with this experience was that they had allowed 2 guests who were working on laptops and speaking loudly on the phone to be sat near the people eating their afternoon teas. This is totally unacceptable and in place this size there was plenty of room elsewhere that they could have worked. We did mention this to the waiting staff and they apologised but this should never have happened in the first place. At one point the 2 people were even conducting a video call very loudly which did not make for a relaxing experience.

We enjoyed a perfect Afternoon Tea on the terrace at Weetwood Hall, all served by charming waiter Gabor. Table linen was gorgeous, snowy white heavy cotton. The food was plentiful and delicious, all freshly prepared in-house that morning. Savouries included smoked salmon on rye bread, beef and pickle, ham wraps, pork sausage rolls in thin crisp pastry; the sweets included mini cakes, sugary crisp churros with melted chocolate to dip, rhubarb and lemony posset, plus light as a feather scones with pots of clotted cream and strawberry jam. All accompanied by as much tea or coffee as you could drink. What a feast! We shall certainly be visiting again soon with more friends. Thank you Weetwood Hall.

Expected the afternoon tea to reflect the downloaded menu we had only to discover when it arrived that there was a sandwich change and there was no candy floss to be seen. Both small changes but nevertheless disappointing. Listed as unlimited tea which only works if you can grab somebody’s attention, asked twice for hot water, and sandwiches had obviously been left out as they were starting to go hard at the edges, warm scones ( advertised ) not in our case, should have said clap cold!!

We bought this Groupon treat to celebrate Valentines Day. We chose it because it seemed to offer more savoury things than the usual afternoon tea. What a disappointment! We sent the roast beef sandwiches back because the bread was dry. These were replaced with an apology. We then realised we hadn’t been given the chocolate fondant lollies. Again this was rectified with an apology. Although we did get more savouries than normal,we were disappointed with the standard of the food overall. The quiche had the thinnest of filling layer, and the macaroons were unpleasant. As for the scones - they were hard and required every bit of the (fortunately) plentiful jam and cream to make them palatable. We also heard the folks at the next table complaining about them. The one good point - when we commented about the scones, they gave a complementary glass of wine! However I wouldn’t go back.

The hotel is a little dated and old fashioned although the conference facilities are lovely, this just needs to be rolled out to the whole hotel. The room I had was decent and comparable, old fashioned bathroom as always which needs renovation ASAP. Various issues with iron and ironing board and unless your an infant the ironing board is so small that you can’t fit anything on it. The hotel bar was good but closes very abruptly at closing and can’t get anything after this time, need to order room service from your room and have it brought to the downstairs area which makes no sense at all. Had an issue with the iron in the room another was brought swiftly. Breakfast was lovely and well worth it went the choice is endless. Overall a lovely stay.

We arrived to a lovely welcome from the reception staff. They asked what our plans were this visit and told them it was our 38th wedding anniversary and they congratulated us. A little bit later there was a congratulatory card under with a voucher for 2 glasses of prosecco, I thought that was a lovely touch. We went to our room ( a standard double, but we thought it was too small for a 3 night stay. We went back to reception and asked to upgrade and it they said it was no problem and sorted it out. The 2nd room was much better apart from the shower which was quite poor! There was not much spray and it kept going on and off! I didn't want to cause more problems by moving rooms again so we put up with it but mentioned it to the reception staff before we left, they were apologetic and said they would get someone to look at it. The room itself was lovely , lovely large bed, nice bathroom, tv, well stocked tea tray and nice table and chàirs. The staff were fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble, they were so friendly and helpful! The breakfast was wonderful! Self service and the choice was incredible! So much to choose from, we really enjoyed it! The stables pub that belonged to the hotel was great, the atmosphere was lovely, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced!I have given 5 stars for this hotel because they don't do 4 and a half, the reason I would have deducted half was the noise from other guests outside. Our room was at the front so you could hear everything! One morning at 6.30 am guests were either leaving or arriving and they were so inconsiderate to other hotel guests, they were laughing and chatting very loud and it went on a while! On the Friday night there was a wedding, you expect noise till 12.30 because I realise people are having fun! But at 1.06 am people were sat directly under our window chatting/laughing very loud disturbing other guests. I rang reception and they did go out to to ask if they could be quieter but they didn't. I think the hotel needs a 'Polite Notice' to remind people to consider other hotel guests especially late at night and very early in the morning!

Said he would find out and never came back. After 10 minutes I asked the other waiter. He disappeared and never came back either. Another 10 minutes passed and we saw the manager who immediately and professionally dealt with it and different sandwich was brought out..also where were the soups salads X quiche !?? as we never got them...maybe it's because they already have our payment as was through Groupon...very poor..very disappointing...the waiters were terrible ..the manager very good ..will not be returning and will be telling Groupon about our experience

If this review was just for the staff then it would be at least 4 stars as all the ones we came into contact with were lovely & friendly. However for the room itself I can only give a 3. There were 2 of us in 2 rooms on different sides of the corridor & we both had a very interrupted nights sleep. I was overlooking the reception area where people gathered to smoke etc. It was a warm night so had windows open. Not for long. Luckily a fan is provided in the room so had to use that instead but could still hear chatter & people slamming car doors & wheeling their suitcases in. The other room overlooked the bins & road & was just as noisy apparently with vans delivering etc. Beds exceptionally low. Water should be provided in the room too I feel. Positives apart from staff was breakfast, very nice. Would def book for a conference or a ‘do’ but maybe think twice about staying overnight again.

Stayed here overnight on a business trip. Lovey location. Fantastic staff however I stayed in a room with a ‘drop down’ wardrobe / camp bed ! Apparently they are phasing these out. I did check to see if there was an alternative but was told by reception shortly after check in that this was the standard type bed across the hotel. The bed was terrible creaked all night and had a dip in the middle very uncomfortable and honestly had the worst night / 3hrs of my life. When I highlighted this a check out the lovely receptionist wavered my food and drinks bill from the previous evening. I kindly requested that one of the accommodations team spend a night to experience this bed. I any response please could you do this before replying to me so you know what I am talking about ! Room 182. In summary nice hotel but please do not sleep in these beds you will not get any sleep

My company usually put me up here when I am working locally and as such I have stayed here many times. The first time I actually thought it was a great place, but over the last few visits I have usually been allocated a room on the ground floor or in what I call the tower and I can't help but feel frustrated in these rooms because they are so small. I much prefer the rooms in the newer part upstairs which are much more inviting and sizeable. I just hate going back to what I jokingly refer to as the servants quarters. Literally open your room door and the bed is right there, you almost feel like you sleep in the corridor, with the noise and light that permeate the room under the door. Like I say, I have no say in my lodging and I am also not paying for it, but I need to highlight to anyone looking to stay here just how different your experience can be depending on your room. The staff are always friendly and helpful, breakfast offers a fair ammount of choice and the location is quite good. There is a pub attached to the hotel with a limited menu and again lovely staff. If you prefer, you can walk from the hotel down the road to your left and there are a couple of restaurants. McDonald's is not far but easier to get to if you have a car. Recommended as long as you know what room type you are getting when you book.

We hadn't been for a while and found the food generally okay but not outstanding and our teenage granddaughter had the Korma which was awful, incredibly sweet so she couldn't eat it. As it was hardly touched, the waiter asked what was wrong with it when he cleared the fable and we told him but he didn't say any more. I know it's subjective but she usually enjoys Korma and we all had a tiny taste and none of us could have eaten it! The drinks are very expensive. Wasn't the best meal we've had and will probably wait a long time before returning. Shame.

Toilet roll holder situated to close to the toilet which my wife ended up cutting her hand on it as she sat down. The worst was at breakfast my wife thought she had bitten on an eggshell but it was actually a large chip of a plate, dread to think what might have happened if she had swallowed it or even worse if it had ended up on a child's plate. Booked a Groupon deal here for a sparkling afternoon tea as a treat to finish off our short holiday. The restaurant is very modern despite it being part of a former Hall, and quite minimalistic in decor and not in the grand surroundings that you might expect given it's name. The service and staff are pleasant enough and the food adequate. That said the scones were plain and consequently quite dry, but it was a nice touch having a small glass of soup as part of the tea.

We booked a two night stay at the hotel and were looking forward to our meal at Convive. First of all despite booking in advance, our table was not ready and we were asked to sit at a table near the bar. However, no drinks were offered and after 15 minutes of being ignored we realised we had been forgotten. I reminded one of the staff and eventually 5 minutes later we were seated. The drinks took a long time to come and we had to remind them. The starters were ok but the main courses were disappointing. I ordered fish and it was literally raw and inedible. They offered me something else but by then I had gone off the idea. However I did order a dessert and the wrong one came. Yet again I had to call the waitress back to change it. We had to remind them several times we were waiting for the bill. They gave us 50% discount off the wine and did not charge for the main course. We expressed our dissatisfaction at the whole experience and eventually after a discussion with the Manager, they did not charge for the inedible main course and the desserts. However we would never go back or recommend this restaurant and think that a lot of the food was bought in and not made on the premises. The staff are poorly trained and the overall impression was that nobody really cared....... Disappointing evening on what we hoped would be a great weekend break.

We were a pre booked group of 15. All had been to a funeral afternoon tea, two were staying at the hotel. Surroundings were quite pleasant but it took over an hour to get as much as a piece of bread! The staff did not appear to give a toss about our plight. The food, when it finally arrived was ok on the whole with the exception of the gnocchi which looked like it wasn’t coming at all and when it did was described as ‘hard’. The high point of this culinary low was the pudding, Eton mess, a personal favourite which did not disappoint. There were no apologies, offers of free future meals or discounts for this visit. The test is this; would I recommend the hotel restaurant to a friend? Certainly not. Would I visit again? Absolutely not.

We regularly dined at Weetwood when our daughter was at University there, and enjoyed many lovely meals. But sadly, we will not be returning. We were on a day out last week and booked for lunch there, eagerly anticipating the good service, great food and lovely surroundings. We were so disappointed to be shown to the Convive Restaurant which has no character, uncomfortable chairs and tables and a very limited menu, with prices that do not reflect the mediocre food. We had to wait for the attention of two female staff who were more interested in their discussion than us, given a very limited menu which I would describe as 'cool and trendy' , but definitely not edifying. We struggled to find something to our taste, and eventually settled for a pulled pork concoction, then settled down for a long wait. We honestly wished that we hadn't bothered to eat there when it arrived: warm if you used your imagination and not appetising at all. We left feeling cheated and longing for the restaurant we once knew and loved. What have you done to Weetwood?!

Just returned from a really lovely afternoon tea in the Convive restaurant at Weetwood hall, Headlingley. We had lovely finger sandwiches (incl smoked salmon), quiche, a yummy gazpacho soup, a tasty thick raspberry milkshake, panna cotta in little cups, delicious tasty fruit scones with jam and clotted clean, and mini sponge cakes. We had x 2 pots of tea each with no extra charge for the second pot. The staff were very helpful & friendly - particularly the manager. And I thought for the price of £14.95 pp is was excellent value! If this was in a London hotel it would have been x 2 the price of not more! I liked that it was different from the norm. The restaurant area was modern and contemporary. We were there for nearly x 2 hours (started at 4:30pm) and felt unhurried and un-rushed. Highly recommended!

We have had A LOT of afternoon teas over the years, always using Groupon deals. When this venue was offered I hesitated as was unsure whether we would like the food. Not to worry as everything came that we ordered which was plain cheese and tomato sandwiches for me and anything, except salmon for my husband. We had 3 finger sandwiches each and 4 triangles of warm cheese and tomato quiche which came on a board and was placed on the lower half of a wooden stand which was already on the table. The other board for the top half of the stand comprised a scone and pot of black currant jam each, 1 mini Victoria sponge and 1 mini chocolate sponge, 2 glass espresso cups containing a vanilla custard (one with passion fruit purée and the other raspberry purée). A large glass teapot was brought with a jug of milk. The tea kept the temperature hot so must have been a thermal type glass. We were then brought another board a few minutes later which held 2 pots of clotted cream, 2 shot glasses of gazpacho soup and 2 mini milk bottles with a very thick and creamy raspberry milk shake which was divine. This is our number one venue for afternoon tea, so far. The service was spot on and very friendly, the decor and ambience delightful, the grounds with a wooden swing are well kept. The buildings are a mixture of old and new. Hotel rooms, stables pub, conference rooms, wedding facilities etc. Very nicely thought out spaces and the size of the place seems like a tardis!! Loads of free parking but always so many cars so you do have to be lucky to find a spot without looking hard! Very easy venue to get to via car or bus. One way in and the other side of the grounds is the exit, which could be confusing if you don't know the area as it brings you out on another road!

Feeling peckish my friend decided he wanted fish & chips, we were on the Headrow so l thought of Nash's even though l've never eaten there. The reason for that is the business & alley approach looks so unwelcoming. And it did again...7 large green general waste dustbins right outside, rubbish everywhere. Now l know this is not the fault of Nash's but it's plain off-putting, they could screen it off for a small outlay. Secondly l said to my pal "lt's shut", everything about it led me to thinking that, even with an "open" flyer on the door, l was amazed the door opened when l pushed it. Oh oh, totally empty, no food in the fryers, really strange. The woman behind the counter was great, she explained that it was cooked fresh & wouldn't take long. 2 fish & chips were ordered and tbh l was not expecting much. I was wrong, the fish was really good and the chips fine & plentiful, mushy peas ok if a bit watery. The only negative was the tomato sauce, it was terrible, orange & cheap. Whilst we were eating 2 other customers arrived, so 4 in probably 40 minutes there. There is something wrong here, the food was good, the woman friendly & efficient but it is devoid of any atmosphere or decent furnishings, to me it looks like totally wasted potential. I'd probably give it another try, maybe l caught it on an unusually quiet day, but still, please make an effort on the approach & frontage to make it more welcoming, l'm sure it'd make huge difference.

so, normally we go to the Bridgewater arms for food (another flaming grill), however our nearest pub is actually this one so we thought we'd come here for food on Saturday evening. I looked at the menus and opening times and saw that the app stated the kitchen closed at 9 pm, so I booked a table for 8.30 on the understanding that I’d be able to get food thinking nothing of it and that we could have a night out with some food, and then to stay and drink until closing. We arrived in a cab around 20 past eight, giving us ten minutes advance for the table anyway and were sat at table two, where they normally have it reserved for the festive menus but were told we could eat there anyway. We then went ahead and were just about to push our orders through the app when someone ran over and told us not to put any food through as the kitchen was closed and had been since 8. This was extremely frustrating as if I’d have known this before, we would have probably gone to another green king pub where we could both eat and drink throughout the night. once finding this out, I then quickly rang ahead to first the GK in LS15 which said we'd make it to late for food then to Bridgewater, who also told us we wouldn't make it as they also shut at nine so not only could we not eat here, but we also missed out on a flaming grill, resulting in us last minute having to book to the harvester in Scholes LS15, resulting in yet another cab fair, which was significantly higher, but unfortunately the only option left to us at this point and also meaning green king missed out on our custom, because the information on food wasn't known before we'd arrived. I went to speak to a manager at the bar before we left, he told us there was nothing he could do even after I explained the situation so not only were we not able to order food from the kitchen that was advertised as open, but then had a manager tell me there was nothing that he could do and walking off. Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience
