A fantastic little find (though I only live across the road!). The Wee Bookshop and Cafe is the perfect place for a meeting in Chinnor or to take family when they're visiting - my grandparents absolutely adore it. Food is really good, the atmosphere is fantastic and it's just that bit more unique than any other Cafe.

I've been staying with family in Chinnor and had opportunity to visit the Wee Bookshop twice in the past 10 days for Breakfast and lunch. On both occasions the food was fresh and made to order, wait times absolutely fine, pricing very good snd service great, this cafe / bookstore may be small but its got heaps of appeal and a relaxing vibe, well worth a visit.

Perfect brunch - we had great American pancakes with berries and ice cream (or maple syrup etc), good coffee and heroic home made cakes (largest pieces I've seen in any cafe!). Plus really interesting second hand books - and it's all to support a cancer charity. What's not to like about that? Oh and there'a railway running round the roof. Yes really. And it's close enough to the Ridgeway - really restored us for the next leg of our walk.

This café (and bookshop) was recommended to us by friends and the reviews posted here promised an excellent experience. As with many things, sometimes, having a view before a visit can lead to disappointment or a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, this one was disappointment. We visited for lunch. Let me state immediately, there was nothing wrong with the service or the food. But there was nothing special about it either. Many of the reviews talk of cakes "to die for". They all looked acceptable but none were so wonderful to look at that they even tempted us. We were expecting rather more, I am afraid. Our freshly made paninis were fine, served with a good helping of salad and nice crinkle crisps and reasonably priced. But they were no better and rather less tasty than we have had elsewhere. Others have commented on the fact that the café is quite small but adequate. However, seating is basic, hard and certainly does not encourage one to linger. The books and the little train running round the walls make it a bit different and the fact that all profits go to a charity are, of course, pluses. But overall, it was a disappointing experience and unless one is close by, I couldn't suggest it is worth much of a diversion.

Looked forward to stopping here on a good Friday bike ride for their amazing coffee and cakes. Sadly when we got there it was too early and not open! Always enjoy stopping here very friendly and excellent coffee and cakes. Thank you to the owner we will not forget that!

I have reviewed The Wee Bookshop before but each time I visit I find something worthwhile. This time it's people; young people. Young people like Harvey who serve tea and cake with skill and courtesy and when they are not doing that they are applying a work ethic that belies their years. Initially volunteers, to see if they really want to actually work there, they prove themselves worthy of representing the charity that this cafe supports and worthy of representing their parents who made them ready. This is a theme park of all that is best in young people. Go and see for yourself - and if you leave without a twinkle or a tear in your eyes you spent too long just looking at the books.

Being a local thought we'd check out at lunchtime (happened to be my birthday), wish I'd opted for cake that to be fair look enticing. Ordered tuna baguette, and to me, having had a fair share in my time, I think the baguette was 'part cooked' and needed browning in oven! Very pale with a hint of raw bread. Disappointed... I was offered another, but by then was put off. Also noted tables needed cleaning, (hair on table...eewww!), Table legs dirty.

The decor is great, the cause behind it noble, the staff incredibly friendly and accommodating. But more importantly who doesn't love to peruse books while having a great latte and some good quality food? Its the little touches that make this place so great like the addition of the train going round the perimeter, seasonally decked out with Santa as the driver, and the markers which denote your food order being filled with information about famous authors. It is such a good edition to the village and would be suitable for a casual meet up, for families or for a catch up with friends. Thoroughly recommend a trip.

If this café/bookshop has not been nominated for some sort of award then it certainly ought to be - the thought that has gone into its design and the way that it is run put many other ventures with much higher profiles to shame. Quite apart from the top quality/low price books, and the lovely touches like the author-themed table identifiers and the train that runs round and round the perimeter, the food and drink are absolutely first rate. We had the Tuscan bean soup, which was spiced to perfection and a main meal in itself, particularly since it was accompanied by five pieces of fresh sourdough bread and a generous helping of real butter (in a little dish, not a packet!). All the cakes looked delicious, and our choices of lemon cake and Victoria sponge did not disappoint, and neither did the drinks. The café was spotlessly clean and the staff could not have been more friendly or more helpful. All in all, our visit was a superb experience.

Formed as a fundrasing tool for Bladder cancer, the Wee book shop started life tucked away virtually unseen in a tiny room in Chinnor. Serving hot drinks, cakes and books it was a pleasant place to be, the children loved it and would visit at least once a week, often on their own.A few years on it's crossed the road and taken up residence in the old Chinnor Council offices and, with the help of some lovely interior design and a marvelous train that chuggs around the walls of the room, has transformed itself into a viable cafe. The food is uncomplicated, made with care and is competitively priced, the coffee excellent and the staff friendly. It's less of a book shop now, more a comfortable meeting place stroke library, with room to eat outside in the summer. It's really is a testament to Andrew's skill and dedication, long may it prosper.

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming! The staff are kind, friendly and helpful... The selection of breakfasts, lunches, drinks and cakes is excellent and delicious! Everything is homemade on the premises and is truly wonderful. A great place to meet with friends, family or to while away some time on your own. An excellent selection of books, cds, dvds and more to accompany your tasty treats. My family love it...

As expected, it is a wee bookshop, and also a wee cafe - walking by with my parents, we decided to stop for a drink. There are some nice tables outside where we could sit with the dogs, and they provided a bowl of water for them.

Visited for lunch and had delicious paninis at very reasonable prices. Loved the variety of coffee on offer too. Staff were really friendly and service was quick and efficient. The books make a great feature as well as being for sale for a good cause and the model train is delightful! We were very tempted by the amazing looking cakes but resisted so will have to come back again!

I think some of the previous reviews have summed up my thoughts really well - the cafe is truly unique - delicious coffee - great range of strengths to choose from (Nespresso), a really good menu - the scones I would leave home for! A wonderful choice of second hand books, beautifully displayed and categorised and really well priced. There is a children's area for the little ones to choose a book and read whilst 'parents' are enjoying a coffee and chat!

What a fantastic experience! Think of a well stocked bookshop that is clean and welcoming, add the smell of coffee, baking cakes, meals cooking and what have you got? A recipe for success! I cannot fault this charity bookshop cafe. It caters for all ages and all tastes. Children can sit and read books and play with puzzles as long as they like whilst parents check which books they want or just have coffee and cake!

When I heard there was a new charity shop and cafe to support bladder cancer opening in Chinnor I had to go and check it out. When I arrived I was amazed by what was in store. Firstly, an incredibly warm welcome from the friendly staff and an impressive range of great quality books of every genre, all perfectly categorised for easy browsing. I was also struck by how colourful and homely the shop is.

I came in almost accidentally. I had a really bad experience with some hotel food that i decided I really needed a burger to satisfy my hunger, really not expecting to have the best burger I think i have ever had in England. I do not say this lightly as i travel lots and eat lots of food all over! Great quality smash burgers made to order which can be customised! I didn't get to catch the guys name, but he was clearly very passionate about food and told me a little of his background involving the butcher trade!
