Was looking forward to a club sandwich in The George Bistro. At £12 I was expected something awesome. After an extremely long wait (there was only one other person) it arrived and was a big let down, and to add insult one of the bread slices on the triple decker was burnt black. This shows a lack of care, how difficult was it to re-toast another slice of cheap white bread. A garage sandwhich would have been better

Fifteen of my family had dinner last Friday evening, the food was amazing, between us all we sampled most of the dishes on the menu, the beef, lamb and duck dishes were cooked to perfection and the portions are really substantial. Perfect evening will definitely return

I was initially concerned at the lack of fellow diners but when the lunch was served I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Sunday roast beef and it was marvellous. My only minor critisim would be the amount of vegetables but not worth knocking the meal. Well done.

We thought we would have a Sunday dinner. Chicken was the only available option. When the food came it was hot but my meal could have done with a little more gravy. When I asked for some more I was advised that I would be charged £1.50 which I was surprised about. We didn't eat there again to be able to comment on other food. Decent size portion with a selection of vegetables and a yorkshire pudding. The Sunday roast was average and reasonably priced. This is a nice pub for a drink with a lovely courtyard and great staff. The Pimms and lemonade is fantastic with lots of fruit.

Restaurant review only. Just given The George 3 courses to see what it's like having very recently moved to area. Had to clean table myself as bartender busy. Not a problem as she genuinely had a lot on her plate working lone on a sunday bank holiday. Manager flitted in and out but seem to do much. The problem, however, was the chef who seems to have had a bad day. Starter was pretty good but then pork overcooked. Cut small and similar to what you'd buy in Tesco. Veg prepped to thin strips and cooked to soft. Robbed of flavour. Then charged £7.25 for a Toblerone cheesecake. The flavour came from the biscuit base but not elsewhere. Not sure where Toblerone element comes from. Shame. I've eaten at high-end eateries all over the country - the British Larder in Bromeswell, Suffolk and the White Swan in Blyth, Lincolnshire in the past 2 months - and paid less money for mountains more quality and flavour. Hoping the other restaurants in the area are of a higher quality.

+ Lovely place - short walk to river hotel looks nice ducks in the car park rooms basically (coffee, tea, biscuits, iron) equipped with good quality plush furnishings - slow food service restaurant staff have no customer service experience - they are slow and forget orders and dont know how to be pleasant no pepper! have you EVER been to a restaurant that has run out of pepper! food is unmemorable and dull rooms are old fashioned with 1970s furniture and drapes,. 1980s tv only basic toiletries

I had a late lunch in The Red Lion this lunchtime. First time I had been in the pub in 5 years but with new management and hearing great things since the new owners took over I was keen to give it a try. Bar staff were very welcoming to me and my Cavapoo. Lovely friendly atmosphere and spotlessly clean. I ordered a scampi, fries and peas. It was delicious and too much for me to finish it. I will definitely be back soon with the family 👍🏼

Very nice Pub in Didcot. A lot of choice in the menu. We took burgers, hot dog and tikka masala. Everything was amazing! Real indian flavours on the curry, and very good burgers! Very recomendable, with parking , terras and fun zone with dards and pool. We come back!

We have always liked the food and service in Harvesters. Always been loyal customers. However, our most recent experience was not great at all. The place was busy, the salad bar was quite empty and the food took a much longer time to arrive which we could excuse as a one-off. But some of the food was not cooked through unfortunately, which believe it or not, again we sort of excused as staff apologised and replaced it. What we cannot overlook however was the menu has changed and unfortunately all the tasty parts of the food have been replaced with hard, tasteless freezer food. Prices have gone up too, which is understandable but they should not have messed with the quality of the food. The chicken, the hash browns were not soft and succulent as before. The nice onion ring was replaced by hard and cold cheese jalapeño rings. Totally different food experience now. We are not going to go back in a hurry, let's just say. Really sad as we did like frequenting it over the last few years.

I love this place, I hate the fact that people treat restaurant like this as a sandwich place where they can get their food in 5 min, must change your mentality otherwise use Waitrose or get your pack lunch and sit on the main site, always happy to be here, very friendly people and delicious food, will always come back.
