Good drink selection, from £4 student pints, food good and good value too

Had a great time at Wates House in Surrey University when we met new applicants. Loved their beef burger.

I come here nearly everyday and the staff are amazing - friendly and kind. The bar really does make the campus. The music is always top notch and the food is amazing - even if a bit pricy

Absolutely banging milkshakes with great cocktails and amazing staff! Definitely getting your money's worth and I have to mention that they have pool tables!

Nice place to have a drink and food is very good but drinks can still be very student unfriendly in terms of pricing especially on peak nights where prices go up by about 50p.

Nice food (large portions!!!) and decent drinks. Some of the cocktails like the tea one are not so nice but the classics and the shakes are great!

Great staff good food a d beer what more would you want

There was a miscommunication at first. However, Oliver was really good and his service towards me and my friends were excellent! He resolved the issue by speaking to the manager. I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the burger wasn't as great was we expected.

Cheesy chips are a must :) cheese and bacon are my go to

Food is good and atmosphere is nice. Decent prices and two for one drinks most evenings too.

It's everything you expect from a university pub. The service at the bar was very friendly and the music wasn't too loud. There's comfy sofas, too, if no one else has claimed them. 🙂

Alright don't expect anything extraordinary but modarate price

Milkshake here is impressive! The best milkshakes in town! The price is reasonable, not so expensive. Unfortunately, the food takes a long time to be served.

Ordered a burger and fries and after waiting 45 minutes I approached the bar and waited another 15 or so minutes while none of the bar staff acknowledged me with so much as a glance in my direction. Place was pretty crowded but after a while definitely got the sense that for some reason or another I was being discriminated against. Asked if I could get a refund and was simply asked how much my order cost. No apology, nothing.

Decent student pub. Ordered a burger which was reasonably priced but unfortunately they burnt it. That's all I could taste whilst eating it and it made it very dry. The bar staff were very friendly

The University of Surrey campus pub. Good pub food for a treat lunch at work. Not a wide range of beers, but they do try to keep one craft style beer on. It was Hogstar for a long time, currently Sharpe's Wolf Rock.

Nice place with discounts for students

If you want cheap lager or cheap cider at high prices, it's perfect for you. If you want extremely rude staff, it's perfect for you. If you want cheap, unhealthy food at high prices, it's perfect for you too. Otherwise, you're better off elsewhere.

Watch the uneven patio area. It's a major tripping hazard and there are no warning signs in place. I had to care for a gentleman who tripped and headbutted the corner of the brick wall adjacent to a decked step without highlight tape or lighting. For a university building, it is absolutely disgusting. There shouldn't be any exceptions.

Decent burgers, beer has reduced in price with happy hour offering some of the best prices in Guildford. Fair amount of outside seating. Busy Friday evenings. Closes very early.

Lovely ladies behind the bar. Excellent service. Highly recommended for a chill after a stressful day at the uni. Pool tables and big TV screen and projectors for World Cup!!!

Good campus pub with affordable food and drink

Really gone down hill since a few years ago, used to be a warm and friendly pub but now an expensive cocktail bar and conference venue.

Not the cheapest student bar but serves decent beer and has a roof terrace and two pool tables. Best bar on campus.

Nice place on campus, very good food and cheap (ish) drink

The renovation is nice. Food is so overpriced it's pretentious. Menu changes often, but value is only removed - never added. Experience with staff is 50/50 - depends on who serves you. Drinks are quite expensive.

Plenty of facilities for meetings and small shows, with bar prices rather less than off-campus licenced establishments provide. Can get a little warm in summer.
