My wife paid £5.50 for a cappuccino - unless they use speciality graded coffee (which I doubt) and decorate the coffee with gold leaf, then I highly doubt there is any justification for charging that amount for a single coffee. They didn't even have any lids available for the takeout 😆

Popped in for a drink early Sunday evening and sat in the main bar area at the front, on a comfy sofa. It had a nice busy buzz to it but it wasn't noisy. The guy who served us was attentive and professional (wish I'd taken his name). My friend wanted a particular tea and he made genuine efforts to find it. When he couldn't find it, he was apologetic and keen to make sure my friend had a suitable alternative. That could be deemed basic service but there have been numerous occasions when that kind of effort hasn't been made. It was very much appreciated. Thank you again to that guy.

Lovely spot slightly hidden away on the high street. I cam here a couple of times for drinks and for afternoon tea. They have a lovely clotted cream menu with bottomless tea. A hugh variety of tea to choose from, many caffeine-free.

Always a great experience with friendly staff. Poppy has always been someone who goes above and beyond. The bar team provided me with honey, lemon and mint (in hot water) for my sore throat, and it worked extremely well. I also seemed to lose my credit card on the sofas; however, fortunately the bar manager found it and rushed to return it to me before I left the building. I did not catch the bar manager's name, but I am very grateful to her. Thank you and see you soon.

One steak not cooked properly at first attempt, waitress was lovely and tried really hard but needed more training about dining etiquette. Side dishes made an expensive dinner even more so.

Very friendly staff who are very accommodating and engaging. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Rooms spacious and very clean with plenty of amenities safe hair drier etc. Breakfast plenty to choose. Bar prices are on a par with London food in the restaurant is very good. I would recommend afternoon tea it very popular. The hotel itself is a short walk from the shopping area and there are many old pubs and restaurants around the area. Around a 2 min walk to the pedestrian area.

Very cosy atmosphere. We have had an afternoon tea after a spa treatment. Really enjoyed my special treat. The sandwiches and cakes were very fresh and delicious, service was great. Would definitely come back!

This is for a slow service and unprofessionally served coffee (no sugar but asking to pay straight away). Some tables remain uncleaned from dirty dishes/cups.

Very long waiting time until getting served. Bar tenders worked hard but orders from restaurant or somewhere else came after and after.

A great Christmas dinner 😊 Well seasoned chicken and some equally great sides. The cocktail I ordered ( Gin sherbert) was so-so but a great experience overall. The ambiance and decor on the other hand are very cool 😉. If you do stay at the Guildford Harbour Hotel, the breakfast buffet will be served there as well. Really good 😉

We were very hungry so the waiter gave us complementary short bread biscuit to eat while we wait for our food. The vegetarian burger was delicious. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. I only gave it 4 stars because we had to wait for a while for our food.

Jaz festival was on while there for afternoon tea. So loud we couldn't have a conversation. Had to wait for the breaks to talk. For what we got it was overpriced. Was celebrating my mum's birthday, totally disappointed with the food offered. They never told us when we booked a table for 7 people that a jaz festival was on & we'd be sitting by the path where the wet towels & guest to the spa would enter & exit. So no conversation possible, trollies of wet towels, limited cakes as they ran out & a bill including service charge (which we didn't pay). Not a great experience at all. At least my mum enjoyed herself with her family having a good old moan about the experience. Gave her something to tell her friends about & she won't forget this birthday treat. We had to moan after as we couldn't moan during as we couldn't here anyone.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Atmosphere was good and I loved the decor. Nice bar area with a good wine selection. Seating around the bar, table and chairs and booths. Waiter was pleasant and recommended some items on the menu. I had the ribs, the best I've had in years. Portions are large, so go hungry. Prices are average for Guildford area. I've been to places more expensive but the food wasn't as nice as here. They have another restaurant on site, The Jetty. Will be back to try the afternoon tea.

Save your money. We had a birthday party here for 15 people and got offered the pre-theatre menu which seemed reasonably priced at £20 for a 3 course meal. You get to choose from meat, fish or veggie. We put our orders on ahead of getting there and once we arrived the waiting staff seemed overwhelmed. They were bringing food over before asking for drinks and when asked if we can get a drink we got met with a hostile "your food will get cold! I need to bring your food out first" For the starters, the Prawns smelled odd and were clearly frozen and mushy to taste. The aubergine had a flavourless taste covered in bland batter. The mains, The steak was rubbery and hard to chew, Main fish seemed ok. Dessert, apple pie with custard or cream. The custard came out 25 mins after the pie and the cream was frozen!!! I have never heard of frozen cream with apple pie. It didn't even melt and you couldn't cut through it without it wanted to fly off the plate. Breakfast is a joke too at £17.50. My friend found a hair in his food, the meat looked anaemic and the eggs looked a mess. Asking the staff for something that wasn't at the table was either out of the question or a chore, Like butter or sauce. A lot of huffing and puffing and general rudeness. The staff are lacking customer service and general manners.

The Ivy chain boasts lovely restaurants, but the heavy standard menu needs rethinking. Not a salad in sight unless you just want a starter. Service was slow and ungracious - we were made to feel it was a nuisance our being there. But, the restaurant itself is lovely, the atmosphere great and if you want cottage pie etc, you’re in the right place!

I suffered terribly with an allergic (gastrointestinal) reaction to the food which I was led to believe was glutenfree. I was off work for a week and the ongoing symptoms will continue for a few weeks to a lesser extent. I have no complaints about the staff or ambience but I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that I consumed gluten containing food which was advertised as glutenfree. I would not recommend the place if anyone has an allergy and I will not be returning there for any meals again. REGARDING THE COMMENT POSTED. So in your mind someone should effectively avoid eating out because of possible miscommunications. I disagree. If a restaurant advertises a meal to be Gluten Free, it should be. It's not rocket science and it's 2024 - so why should people with certain food allergies avoid going out to eat. I posted a valid review and stand by it

Greasy, oversalted, inedible. Hadn't been here in a few years based on my last poor experience. Nothing has changed. Lady at the counter was friendly though
