Lovely little surprise, it’s spacious, warm, inviting and the food is unreal, staff are just as welcoming and there’s plenty of tables: every now and then there’s a pub quiz and highly recommend it, fun with friends and family and a good laugh; garden is an absolute surprise as well and the decor is beautiful. Also huge shoutout to Alex and rohnnan the quiz masters. Always make it fun and a weekly attendance for my group and myself

Always a great time here, there outside area is great in the summer with a cocktail or two! Great space for a meeting & the team are always very accommodating of our requests. Food is good too. What's not to love?

Lovely roast pork, was so soft it melts in your mouth! The bartender was also very lovely when taking my order. Ambience is very cosy and the decorations are on point.

Had lunch here on Thursday. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Was attended to by Anais who was extremely helpful. The meal was served on time and she was on hand the whole time offering to be of assistance.

We attended your establishment, The Weyside in Guildford by the river bank on 31st December 2024 as a family party of 11. Originally I had called ahead to book but seeing as I live in a new build (technically a field) my signal was poor and noone could hear me, and so I decided to email your organisation to book a table, however, after a few days and no-one getting back to me I decided to call again and booked a table. This time all was good! I love the fact the pub is along the river bank, it must be so beautiful and picturesque in the summertime. We plan to return again in the summertime. The pub allows friendly dogs within the establishment, which must be nice after a long stroll along the river bank to then be able to have a nice cold drink and a lovely bite to eat. I do not know how many covers the pub/restaurant caters for at anyone time but it is a large area with the pub area, the restaurant area down a flight of stairs and then the covered outside area. One negative point is, there is no free car parking as you have to park offsite next door in the over priced public pay & display car parking area. That then requires you to walk up a flight of stairs containing approx 30 ish steps, and so not easy if you require a walking aid due to mobility issues. You could possibly stop and drop off directly outside the pub as I do not believe I observed double yellow lines, although I stand corrected if that is the case, but by doing so may annoy some car drivers as you would be temporarily blocking one side of the road not far from a junction and set of traffic lights. Having said that, the alternative is to walk out of the main entrance of the car parking area and walk up the incline of the street/road along the footpath - any ideal solution would be to remove the fencing along down the side of the pub which backs onto the public car parking area for customers of the pub (obviously I do not know how easy that would be to gain access from there seeing as the pub/restaurant appears to be on a slight hill). The pub/restaurant itself has a lovely feel to it, warm, cosy and friendly. There are male, female and disabled toilets within the pub area. The staff were nice, friendly and welcoming. Our server was Amy, Amy was very lovely, nice, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to us and our needs. She is one very good employee, well worth keeping hold of her. The menu had a good varied selection and choice of foods ranging from starters, mains and desserts, as well as the specials board too, however, there was limited Vegan choice, and so, you could do with increasing the choice from a plant burger and or salad. There is so much variety in Vegan food within supermarkets nowadays like a no meat lasagne or a curry. The prices of the food appeared to be on the higher side ranging from £16 to £25 but when the food was served, the portions were massive and well worth the price. As a guide for 11 of us all having 1 or 2 drinks, all eating mains and half having a dessert it cost £24.75 each splitting the bill between us all. This pub/restaurant is well worth a visit due to the atmosphere, froendly staff and great food. I would definitely highly recommend others visit it especially if you have a four legged companion, and or if you like summer walks followed by a visit to a pub.

Amazing food, attentive service and cosy atmosphere

We visited on New Year’s Eve and we missed the cut off time to order before the kitchen closed. The managers, Emily and Rowan were fantastic and made sure the kitchen stayed open til we got our orders in, meanwhile they laid up another table inside incase we wanted to move tables. Food and service was faultless and Emily and the staff are wonderful.

Had a great and relaxing evening. Connor was our server and was lovely. No pressure to rush or make quick decisions. It was a lovely environment and the food and drink were awesome! Would happily recommend to anyone!

Amazing New year's Eve line dancing in a fairy light fun atmosphere where everyone, all ages, had lots of fun. Thank you for allowing us to step into 2025 with so much joy. Wishing all the people who were there and the staff their best year yet. We'll be back. ⭐️💫✨️🌟

Always a great place to socialise and have some decent food. Never disappoints. Although any constructive feedback would be to put something in your custard to make it thicker as came out like yellow milk when I visited just before xmas.

Excellent all around! Service was fantastic and staff went out of their way to find a great table on a Sunday so our kids would be comfortable. Food was delicious and great portion sizes. Kids roasts were huge and no one left hungry. Pub is super cozy with amazing views. I would definitely come back again and again!

Our late lunch at the Weyside was great. We were very hungry after our boxing day walk. The highlight starter was the samphire tempura with a curry sauce on the side. Carrots and Roasted Garlic cheddar flatbread were good. Maybe the flatbread could have been a touch 'crisper'? The mains were well received mostly Cyder battered Haddock n chips. Very crispy batter (and chips with fluffy potato inside) and inside this a juicy fillet of Haddock waiting to be smothered with side sauces of mushy peas, curry and tomato ketchup (mayonnaise was also available) The Plant based burger was well appreciated. Overall the portions were ample as only one dessert was ordered. Connor was our excellent waiter and made sure , along with his colleages, that we were well seated , served and 'watered'. The Guinness was very moreish and at a great temperature. We haven't been to the Weyside in a few months and it seemed that there has been a re-vamp of the interior - all v.good. Table 40 position recommended!

Robert was a great host/server, attentive, perfect level of humour and interaction with the table and remembered all orders perfectly, 8 of us with a few of the dishes being changed (just to confuse him 😀) The food was delicious and well priced with a good range of different produce for every taste. The only negative that I would put is that the table water was charged at £5 a bottle, that may be average but we did not expect it to be that pricey.

Had a small Christmas Eve lunch party here with 5 people. The traditional English Christmas atmosphere was spot on. Connor, the server, met our every need with great efficiency and was extremely friendly. Food was excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Had Christmas lunch here today. The Weyside got it spot on. The food was exceptional, best Christmas dinner i've ever had. Lovely little extra touches. Special requests made during the online booking were upheld. Service was fantastic, well organised, and all the staff made a real effort to make the whole experience memorable and festive. Fabulous. Do not hesitate if you are thinking about booking next year.

We had our Christmas lunch here for 24 people & were so well looked after by all the staff, they accommodated a slightly later sit down to our meal and the best wine waiter!!

We had our wedding reception at the Weyside Pub. I absolutely cannot fault the food service and kindness showed by the staff. They were so accommodating. Everything was perfect on our special day.

Brilliant experience booked a roast for 10 people to celebrate Christmas and new baby! Lovely food service people and ambience! The staff did everything to go over and behind to ensure we had an incredible time! Such a beautiful room we were in m aswell! My friends travelled from London and are well versed in roasts and they really enjoyed it! Would really recommend whether a small or big group!

I went there for Sunday roast with my friends, it was delicious! Mulled wine 10/10! Stuff is always friendly. My dog loves going there as he gets loads of treats!

Popped in on the off-chance on a busy Friday. Very accommodating and friendly staff found us (3) a table. Food came quickly and was delicious. Youngs real ales as well! Recommend a visit.

We were a party of 14 including 5 children under 6. We booked for a pre- pantomime lunch and were assured that all would be ready in good time. They were absolutely amazing! The welcome was warm and the table already for us. We arrived in family groups at different times so they had to wait till we were all there but within 5 minutes of all us being seated the food arrived. It was delicious and the kids portions were if anything too generous. The desserts arrived just a few minutes after all mains were finished and were again lovely. Drinks( and straws) were supplied promptly and with a smile. We left in good time for the panto -oh yes we did!- happy and replete. It was all we could have wished for

We had Connor serving us today, he was absolutely brilliant very helpful and very friendly food was lovely interior and overall Feel of the place was very cozy and we had a very nice view outlook the river. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone.

I contacted the weyside to organise a 30th party and they were absolutely brilliant. We hired the stretch tent which was perfect for the occasion. I dealt with Celine who amazing. The communication was fantastic and everyone said how lovely it was. I would highly recommend using the stretch tent for any celebrations.

Came here for a work Xmas do. The atmosphere was lovely. However, the food was really disappointing. Most, if not all the vegetables were served raw, certainly not roasted. They also could have improved the layout of the table, we were a group of 22 stretched out awkwardly along a U-shaped table with lots of gaps and empty seats.

We had a party in the stretch tent which was done up very nicely. Shame there is a gate half way down to the road letting in a lot of noise and fumes

We were out for Xmas Lunch, with freinds and ordered from the Xmas Menu. Couldn't falt the service and on the whole on food was good. But several of the crumble were burnt, and made the Made the waiter aware but, and only offered replacements, when the rest of out party had eaten there's.

I suffered terribly with an allergic (gastrointestinal) reaction to the food which I was led to believe was glutenfree. I was off work for a week and the ongoing symptoms will continue for a few weeks to a lesser extent. I have no complaints about the staff or ambience but I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that I consumed gluten containing food which was advertised as glutenfree. I would not recommend the place if anyone has an allergy and I will not be returning there for any meals again. REGARDING THE COMMENT POSTED. So in your mind someone should effectively avoid eating out because of possible miscommunications. I disagree. If a restaurant advertises a meal to be Gluten Free, it should be. It's not rocket science and it's 2024 - so why should people with certain food allergies avoid going out to eat. I posted a valid review and stand by it

Absolutely fabulous place. If there were more stars I’d given them 🌟 Lovely old English pub in a beautiful location on the river. We had Sunday lunch for 6 Adults and 3 children, 1 child who has serious food allergies. They were very professional offering a portfolio so that mum could check through to see what ingredients were in each dish. The food arrived without any delays. Portion sizes were amazing - huge! very good value. All the roast dinner meats were lovely; Beef, Pork, Chicken. They offer vegan fare as well and there was a good choice of desserts which were very yummy! 😋 Before leaving the usual trip to the toilets with little ones. They were very clean, nicely decorated and well serviced. They don’t have a car park as they’re so close to the river but a municipal car park is 100 yards away. 1 had one disabled person who didn’t find it too far to go. The staff were excellent. Very friendly courteous and helpful a credit to the place. We will be coning back again!

I have to say it was the worst pub meal I have ever been served with I had a Brie and cranberry sandwich with brown bread- the bread was stale. Doorstop sprung to mind as bread cut in two and had trouble getting in mouth as so large - no salad or garnish Brie was nice but not cranberry sauce My friend had scampi but was cod/white fish nuggets no scampi involved Not worth money at all nearly walked out we complained but waitress not at all understanding V v disappointed I have never given a bad review like this before

Our first visit, but wont be our last! Great steak and best pepper sauce ever had in a restaurant, washed down with a superior Montepulcia. Service from Olly deserves 10 stars - excellent ambassador for the Weyside - friendly, efficient and tactful in the way he dealt with a very noisy party at an adjoining table, for which we were most grateful. Thank you for an excellent evening.

Lovely lunchtime meal. Extremely well cooked fish and chips. The Burger also was excellent. Anais our server was extremely polite and friendly. Would recommend this pub.

Didn't have any food on that occasion but had a great time learning weaving technics. Something a bit different in excellent company. Love the new decorating too, the place looks great, warm and welcoming.

It was brilliant, great organisation by Celine, Nicki and Brian were super friendly and knowledgeable, the finished star is very nice and I am looking forward to doing it again soon !! Also realised why basket are so expensive with the amount of time and work it takes to make one !!! a very hard but rewarding and enjoyable craft !!

We have eaten here on several occasions as a large family party of 8-10. This time we noticed the decline in the quality of the Sunday roast , the fish and chips however were fantastic

Unfortunately didn’t have time to stop for dinner, however sat outside for an after work drink and I was offered a blanket and table service, Craig especially stood out to me as it was later on in the evening he was still full of beans and looked after us right up on till the point we left. Never been here before yet his service alone is enough for us to come back, Ollie was just so accommodating and helped us pick out our drinks without any hesitation and made us feel very welcome, definitely an attribute to the venue. Would definitely recommend! Thanks for having us. Amazing staff!!

Booked to go for my 22nd birthday meal with friends. Had amazing service and food. Was reasonably priced and all had a lovely meal. We then went to the outside, heated undercover area to continue to have drinks and chill. There were blankets provided and board games that we could choose from. Overall a amazing experience.

UPDATE 18/10/24 Re-visited with a good friend. There are currently renovations going on, but don't let that put you off. They have cozy cabins with a warm fire, blankets, soft cushions etc. The cabins overlook the river, it's lovely. Very helpful (helped me get their App for easy ordering). All staff really friendly, Amy was delightful. I had noted the names of the two guys on a napkin but unfortunately I lost that... You know who you are though! The food was tasty and well presented, reasonably priced, hot and served with a smile 😊. NOTE They have a re-opening day on Wednesday 23rd October 24 with a live band. Highly recommend. As Arnie says.. "I'll be back" 👍 My elderly parents and I were recommended to go here after visiting The Royal Surrey Hospital. Our waitress was Pranita who is absolutely lovely. She was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble, (caring towards my parents). Pranita is a credit to The Weyside and clearly enjoys her job. The other staff we saw were also very pleasant. The food was delicious, we all had the battered haddock, the batter was crisp and the fish was so fresh, loved the chips and the added condiments a nice addition. The puddings were scrumptious too, sticky toffee pudding and the meringue with the fruit and blood orange syrup... Oh my! All in all a great place, we sat outside to start with which was a really nice atmosphere and then moved inside when it got a bit chilly. Fabulous place, I highly recommend.
