I do like coming to this coffee shop. But I do have one criticism and that is that I have been early at 9am when they open and the floor of the cafe does not look like it has been hoovered from the day before. Tissues or serviettes under tables and crumbs. Also lift floor not cleaned out. Lift does not smell very nice.

This is a lovely cafe to come to. It is very relaxing. The staff are lovely. They have a new manager who has worked there for quite a while and she is doing really well.

Much better atmosphere than the other coffee shops, dont understand everyone complaining that they were told not to use tables if they dont have a drink - they need to make a profit people! My son can spend hours in any bookshop so a cafe is great so I don't get bored

Have eaten at this cafe many times before. However today, me and my friend went in and were immediately yelled at for having another companies drinks. We apologised and finished our drinks and asked if there was a bin. The server said no when there was a bin right behind her. We returned after throwing away the rubbish and sat down before being yelled at for sitting there that they were not a library and we had to buy food. We had sat down for about 10 seconds and were looking at the menu. None of the other customers experienced this behaviour from this middle aged blonde woman and we can only imagine it is racially motivated. Incredibly disappointed and disturbed.

I've used Waterstones for years and it's always been friendly, helpful and good snacks. Went today and new serving staff. Burnt teacakes and even wanted to charge extra for another pat of butter. Won't be back, as other outlets now better in town

First floor of the shop has a café away from the high street bustle and the chaos of some of the other offerings. Bright, cheerful and decent products, I will take this over the other chain coffee shops any time

Great range of coffee drinks and treats at very reasonable prices served by lovely staff who care about what they do and go beyond, the lead lady even went down stairs to process my loyalty card for me.

This is a lovely relaxing place to have a break - upstairs in the bookshop - away from the bustle of Sutton high street. The cafe is light and airy, the tables are well spaced out, the atmosphere friendly, the staff efficient and the coffee just fine. What’s not to like?

Enjoyed this bookstore and the cafe had delightful Christmas seasonal options! I got the Black Forest hot chocolate and it was so delicious! Will be returning for more.

I go into this store at least once a month to look at the books etc and our grandson loves the children's section. The staff are helpful but it was sad to see that local authors can no longer get them to take books directly - you have to go through a middleman now.

Upstairs in the Waterstones at top end of Sutton high street is this lovely cafe. Have been hear a few times and the staff are consistently pleasant, helpful, efficient and polite. Has the normal range of teas and coffees with the addition of a good range of lose leaf teas such as Early Grey and Green. Forget your tea bags, this is quality stuff at everyday prices. The place can be quite busy - because it’s popular, and if you want food rather than pleasant drinks and snacks, there are other choices. Personally I think the green tea is to die for, and topped with gluten free biscuits and fair prices, that’s suffice for me!

We regularly visit this café. The coffee is really good and the cakes delicious. There is a good variety so it should suit most tastes! It seems to be a popular place as it is always busy. We enjoy the relaxing atmosphere amongst the books.

I've been a few times to this cafe and really is so much better than most local places for tea and coffee. Supremely comfortable, quiet, light and airy with views of the High St. Most charming Venezuelan bar person has always served with a smile - gracias!

I enjoy coming here for a quiet read or a chat with friends whilst having a coffee. You don't often have children here; I think there are places better suited to children. There is a range of cakes and snacks but, while there are usually gluten free rolls, there have been occasions when they have sold out. Soya milk is available. The staff is friendly and relaxed and you can stay for as long as you like.

Upstairs on the first floor in amongst the books - does a good cheap Panini and Coffee. Can be difficult to find a seat - but a lovely, relaxed, un-crowded feel to it. A nice change from the coffee franchises.

Just off the train at Charing Cross this was convenient. Quiet location on 1st floor. Helpful service, good food, very reasonably priced. Ideal for a good lunch break, then a quick sight see before going on to Heathrow.

The coffee shop in Waterstones is a little gem. Located on the 1st floor, it is away from the noise of the high street, a lovely tranquil setting for an of afternoon tea, cake and a chat with friends.

This bookshop has a coffee shop which is usually very quiet and with a lookout over the High Street. You are amongst books which is a lovely setting. This bookshop has a lift with toilets on the coffee shop floor which I believe would be suitable for wheelchair users.

This a very good place to take a break in Sutton. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is a little quieter than your average, bustling high street coffee shop. They serve by far the best toasted tea-cakes going and they keep me coming back. All of the prices are a little lower than the other high street choices..(Nero/Starbucks) AND you can sit and read their books while you partake. Since the seating is upstairs there is also a nice view over the high street to people-watch. There is a lift and a toilet.

Visited the bookshop on a Friday lunchtime and decided to have a cuppa to relax. Well i was greeted with friendly faces, smiles and excellent customer services. The tea was just how i like it and the cakes... oh the cakes... they looked amazing. I had a slice of cake and it was just heaven. Im glad i went when i did because not long after i sat down many people started venturing in to the cafe and it became very busy. Which obviously is a wonderful sign for the cafe and its lovely friendly staff.

I didn't want to write this review as I wanted to keep this cafe at Waterstones to myself but it is a gem in the Sutton High Street! The staff always have a smile and are very attentive. I enjoy going there a couple of times a week to enjoy the wonderful toasted sandwiches on offer and sometimes to treat myself to a slab of cake. It's a great place to unwind, even during the lunch hour and will worth a visit.

This is the café on the upper floor of Waterstone's bookshop. Recently, they've added some tables outside the shop as well, presumably to take advantage of the summer. In summary: good tea, good coffee, *really* good frappés and cakes. Sandwiches are good for the price. Nice atmosphere and, of course, you can sit and read whilst sipping your whatever :) Prices are a little on the high side but the atmosphere there is so nice it's sometimes worth it.

I always come here, as there is a mixture of sofas and chairs, so everyones needs are accommodated for. They have now started serving ice-cream, which is lovely.

Visited the Windsor Castle for my Sunday roast and definitely didn’t disappoint! The Chicken was lovely, roasties were amazing and my favourite, the Yorkshire puds! Generous servings, staff are there on hand for your needs or little extras, I recommend the red current jelly, went through 2 ramekins. Lovely evening, ready for another new week! Will be back again next Sunday :)

Absolutely avoid the offering of Roast turkey dinner, AWFUL. Even after being assured this was real turkey and not turkey roll, it was turkey roll staff need educating. The rest of the components tasteless and just about luke warm. Such a shame as we have had good Xmas outings with our friends at this venue but this year we will not be booking our table there!

Good prices as Fish and Chips is so expensive these days. Chips were nice. Large cod was very thin - I'd prefer a shorter but chunkier piece (I guess they go for what looks biggest)
