The Windsor Castle in Sutton

Visited the Windsor Castle for my Sunday roast and definitely didn’t disappoint! The Chicken was lovely, roasties were amazing and my favourite, the Yorkshire puds! Generous servings, staff are there on hand for your needs or little extras, I recommend the red current jelly, went through 2 ramekins. Lovely evening, ready for another new week! Will be back again next Sunday :)

What an amazing place. Went there for lunch with my daughter today. It was very busy and had a wait on the food but wow when it turned up…… fantastic. The staff although under pressure kept a smile on their faces and did everything they could to make our visit special. If you ever find yourself in Carshalton make sure you pay The Windsor a visit

Don’t go to the Windsor Castle on Sunday afternoons as they provide a totally inadequate service. Minimal level of staff unable to cope with the number of bookings they took. Have had to abandon our family birthday meal due to kitchen not being staffed and meals taking an hour to serve up. Awful experience totally let down

Best Sunday Lunch I’ve had in a long term - delicious meat, big portions and great service. Even did a slightly smaller size for my daughter and that was still plenty!

Attended for my brothers birthday. We all had Sunday lunch. My brother and I had the roast beef which was incredible. Best roast I’ve had in a very long time and I’ve visited several restaurants/pubs in the last couple of months. Mr Chef, thank you so much. Everything on our plates tasted fabulous and every plate was clean by the end. Friendly, professional service. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you x

They're a strange lot. My first day of work was made hell after the deputy manager of The Woolpack in Banstead (who is now the manager of The Windsor Castle) shouted in my face for not a correct reason. It hurt me. She was so unprofessional doing that to someone who just worked in catering with little kids in my previous job. You have to be a bit nice. How was to know someone I could ever meet could be that horrible and sour she shocked me as I couldn't stop her. She is so big for her age. She also said I was vulnerable, thats so embarrassing coming for someone who's 5 years younger and doesn't know who I am. Her and her partner and so unfriendly. Before they were in charge they always stole drinks at The Woolpack. I think that's how they got a good reference they are sneaky.

I visited Windsor Castle recently with my nephew, looking forward to a quiet drink and a meal. While we were greeted by an amazing live band and a talented singer—making for an unexpectedly lively atmosphere—the night took a few unusual turns. We originally ordered steak, but were told by the waitress that it wasn’t available. Later, when a friend who works as the chef joined us after his shift, he let us know there was actually plenty of steak. A bit confusing, but we let it slide and enjoyed our meal regardless. Later, I offered to buy some drinks, including tequila shots for the chef and his friends, but once again, the bar staff told us they didn’t have any tequila. To our surprise, the chef easily found a bottle himself. While these small mix-ups were odd, the main issue came with the communication between staff and customers. The music was great but very loud, which made it difficult to communicate, especially at the bar. I had to raise my voice to be heard, and this seemed to be misinterpreted as being rude or aggressive by the evening manager. When I politely asked the manager to explain why we were being told certain things weren't available, I felt he became unnecessarily defensive. It seemed as though he was expecting a confrontation, which was never my intention. That said, Windsor Castle is a fantastic spot with a lot of potential. The owner/general manager, who I’ve met before is excellent, and the venue itself is a great place to enjoy live music. However, the evening staff could benefit from better preparation and communication to avoid these kinds of misunderstandings in the future.

The team are always friendly n welcoming and we had a nice table in the dining area … excellent roasts all round … meat was lean n flavoursome… I’ve eaten here a few times now and it’s never disappointed… looking forward to what the new chef brings to the table (literally 😂) … Brazilian dishes will be very welcome

Beautiful food love place, most of the staff are fantastic and very good. However one of the male staff was very rude, wears a white T shirt, and was not very helpful, did not bring my side orders and blamed it on another table taking them, which was quite frankly his fault. And he has not wanting to take responsibility for his mistake, which being in the hospiptalty industry is not a very good trait. Not a very good hire, please avoid him at all cost.

Went here in the morning and this pot-bellied rugby playing red haired squashed nose hag of a barmaid served me with the rudest manner, I can only assume it’s because I am black. I won’t be going back here.. choose your barmaids more wisely! She should be slinging the barrels not serving the beer… When I asked her why she was being so rude she said she was the landlady and if I didn’t like it I could go to Wetherspoons… rude! I find this impossible to believe because she spoke as if the brain was processing language with a single digit IQ.

I came specifically to hear the blues jam. I received a friendly welcome, a choice of three or four excellent real ales, very much enjoyed the T.E.A. and a couple of bags of crisps. I heard surprisingly good quality (for a free gig) blues music from a variety of musicians, in a friendly, easy-going atmosphere, well led and presented by the regular House band. Have put a monthly reminder on my calendar. Just need to add a "real" cider to perfect the offering.

I visited this pub for the first time around 8:20 pm. I was told the kitchen was closed, which was surprising given the pub's closing time of 11 pm. Shortly after, I saw other customers being served. This inconsistency left a bad impression. No any clear communication and the receptionist doesn’t know how to treat a customer.

Great food and reasonably priced. We had the halloumi and chicken skewers with fries and they were really well cooked and very very tasty, would recommend ! Nice friendly bar staff as well

We visited the Windsor Castle for dinner, drinks and a quiz night last night. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. 2 of us had the Streaking pig burger, it was cooked to perfection and was full of flavour and taste explosions. Our friends had the crispy chicken burger and the Tortellini, both dishes looked and tasted delicious. Extremely generous portions all round. The menu is extensive and there are lots of dishes to choose from as well as chef recommended dishes displayed on the board by the bar. The bar has a massive selection of drinks and a great range of alcohol free items to choose from too for the designated driver. The quiz was great fun and only £2 each to enter. Arrived at 7pm for dinner and left around 10.30 having had a wonderful evening with, food, drinks, brain training and lots of laughter. Sadly we didn't win the quiz but had an amazing evening. Would highly recommend and will be returning very soon. Thank you.

Great transformation from an old fashioned 'sticky carpet and drunks" pub to a lively local and eatery with a mix of locals and families as customers. Food menu looks good although not eaten her yet but has good reviews from people I've spoken to. Nice outdoor area and dog friendly.

Can’t beat the Shepherd Neam pubs, the oldest brewery in the U.K. sure know how to make a pub welcoming, good food and great choice of IPA, craft beer, ales. A transformation of the old Windsor Castle and a welcome edition to Carshalton.

fabulous service polite staff, food was lovely . butchers burger , pulled pork tostado , scotch egg all was plentiful and well worth the money. beautiful sunny day garden area is nice good amount of seating probably best food pub in carshalton.

After visiting a few times we thought we would try a nice Sunday roast for mothers day. From the moment we arrived we we're greeted with a warm welcome and asked if we had booked which we had. Our booking was at 2pm but we had arrived 30 minutes early but the staff made sure we were still shown straight to a table even though they were very busy. Menus were already on the table which was nicely decorated with flowers for mothers day. Our drinks order was taken almost straight away which we loved as normally when pubs and restaurants are busy you normally have to wait a while. We both had roast beef which was cooked to absolute perfection and all the sides were also very nice. The kids had sausages and mash and they all said it was nice and they ate it all. This place has undergone a huge renovation recently and it shows the staff are all extremely friendly especially Romi who served us whilst we were there we couldn't really pick out any faults the decor the atmosphere everything was very cosy and welcoming as a classic english pub should be. Literally another one of carshaltons little gems we are very fortunate to have plenty in our local area in carshalton. Well worth a visit for Sunday roasts and also an amazing pub in the summer having a large garden at the rear which regularly has barbecues and other functions. To all the staff keep doing what your doing your all amazing we will certainly be back. Definitely recommended.

Cannot fault the service service we received yesterday. Friendly, attentive staff, quick and efficient service and the food...well what can I say? Generous portions so really good value for money. I had the Roast Beef which was perfect with a great selection of veg and my brother had( in his words) the best Lamb he's had for ages, some places get it a bit wrong but not here. All round, a massive well done and would recommend to anyone.

Nice dog and people friendly pub! My husband and i had never been in this pub before. We have recently added a dog to the family. During our Sunday walk with her we passed the Windsor Castle and thought we would see if it was dog friendly. We were all made very welcome. A large jar of dog treats were on the bar which made our dog especially happy. We decided to stay for a Sunday roast which was very enjoyable. The roast lamb meals we had were good quality and well cooked. My husband had the crumble for pudding which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had some mince pie ice cream which really good as well. The staff were welcoming, friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making our experience as enjoyable as possible. We will definitely be back.

A buzzy, vibrant atmosphere in the Saturday evening I visited. Great selection of beers, and the live music later in the evening only added to the social vibe. Great evening. Will have to return to try the food and and do another live music evening.

Second time for a roast in the Windsor recently. Easily the best roast in Carshalton. Food is lovely and the service is perfect.

Pleasantly surprised food was great, and the interior was far better than expected.

Came to the Windsor castle for a 25th birthday in the function room. Was met with a very handsome Supervisor who helped set up the music very efficiently! Overall great cocktails which Will made for us and very good atmosphere with the band playing live music. Would recommend highly to anyone in the area!

It’s an excellent pub the food is really nice and presented neatly, the portion sizes are great considering the prices aren’t too high, they have a good selection of draft beers and ales too, the staff are all very nice and welcoming they made our experience very enjoyable

The service myself and my family received on our arrival was superb. The staff were very helpful in any queries we had concerning the food due to allergies. The customer service was above excellent and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning as a family very soon.

The time between Christmas and New Year is always the time pop out, support a local pub and let somebody else do the cooking. The food at the Windsor Castle was above a beyond - perfectly cooked haddock and chips (with the most scrumptious minted pea puree!) for my wife and good ole bangers and mash for me. Perfectly made and lump free mashed potatoes with yummy butter served with a perfect onion gravy. The only downside is the walk back home with such a full tummy! Thanks to the amazing team for making us feel so very welcome. Happy New Year to you all and see you again soon!

We have eaten here a few times recently and are so thrilled to have a nice quality pub in walking distance. Staff are all really friendly and they are very welcoming with our dog too! We just had a big family Christmas meal here and everyone was commenting how good the roast was!

We were a party of 16 10 adults and 6 children We pre ordered from the normal menu and Christmas menu 7 days before Everyone had an amazing meal The Christmas dinner was incredible including perfect roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding .. freshly cooked vegetables piping hot Starters and desserts so good too There was a great atmosphere there too and we will definitely be returning very soon again Thank you everyone

First time visiting pub. Staff were all welcoming and friendly. Good selection of drink, went for lunch and ordered vegan options, best vegan pub food I’ve had in a while and chips were super crunchie! Definitely will be revisiting soon!

Came for a Sunday dinner at about 7pm, all the Sunday roasts were still available despite being told by multiple people how busy the day had been there. We were not disappointed! Absolutely delicious roast dinners with huge portions and to top it off excellent service from the whole team who were smiling and happy . Will definitely be returning.

First class service and speed of process when ordering and receiving food, my partner went for the Sunday roast I opted for the Cauliflower, Spinach and Balti pie (Vegan) enhanced with roasted vegetables! Family friendly and vibrant atmosphere, I would highly recommend a visit, I would also encourage vegetarians to try the options. Food was amazing with an extensive selection of ales 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I had the most amazing pizza experience! The flavour were incredible, and the chef, Tony truly knows his craft. The Manager, Romina, ensured everything ran smoothly. Perfect team that made my dining experience unforgettable.

We called in out of curiosity, having heard about the recent refurbishment and stayed for dinner. We were not disappointed! This pub, famous locally for beer and beer festivals has a new reason to visit- the refurbishment has been very nicely done, the food was excellent- huge portions and competitively priced. The beer (as expected) was in excellent condition too. Highly recommended.

Just nice traditional pub food at reasonable prices. The beef and ale pie was tasty.

Food was a bit bland I had the ravioli, the ravioli was undercooked, the peas overcooked, the ‘charred ‘courgettes looked boiled, yet the sweet drop peppers were amazing. Apart from the food, the atmosphere and staff were amazing.

We booked a last min table last night online, the refurb is lovely we were really impressed, the staff member serving the restaurant area was busy, but he always kept coming back to see if we needed anything, it was a really busy evening but you didn’t have to fight or wait long at the bar the staff were always looking to serve. Food was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Really enjoying the newly refurbished Windsor Castle. Funny, but my wife and I used to walk past it and head to other, better, pubs in Carshalton (of which there are plenty) but the new decor and management have transformed it into a more pleasant venue. It's kind of a trendyish bar that has somehow retained a pub feel to it.

Had a lovely drink from the new Summer menu! Garden looks lovely with the new flower boxes! Lovely to hear the customers talk about how fabulous the new pub looks! Friendly welcome and service with a smile!

Went today and the make over is awesome. Had lunch and the food was brilliant, some good pubs in Carshalton but this will now be my local. Great beer garden too 👍

Saw this pub had recently been refurbed, and me and my friend went to go have a drink. Must say the courtyard is very cute and perfect for summer evening drinks. We had a portion of nachos and they were soo yummy! The staff were so lovely and welcoming, smiles all round, will defo be back and recommending to all my friends!

Have lived locally for many years and delighted to see the Windsor Castle get a new lease of life. The refresh gets top marks from me, the food we had on Sunday for Father's Day was exquisite and the ale well kept. Great mix of of punters, young and old. The new management and bar staff were very welcoming and friendly. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

The Windsor castle has just been done up. It has been tastefully renovated without too many changes, but the changes they have made seem to have given the pub a new fresher feel. The bar has been modernised nicely. I understand the food is fantastic here but we haven't eaten there yet. The bar staff are incredibly friendly and the service is spot on. We will be visiting there quite often as it is local to us. This is a dog friendly pub.

It's an OK pub used mainly by locals with a local vibe. Decent beer and ok food.

What a wonderful pub, sadly covered with scaffolding at the moment. Lovely decor inside with a range of comfortable seating throughout, including stools at the bar. The staff were very friendly and happy to chat as it wasn't overly busy when we were there. The pub has live music on Saturday nights and a Quiz Night every Tuesday. Outside has two areas to enjoy your visit: just outside the doors there are a number of picnic benches then around to your right and up some stairs there is a lovely grassed area with tables. There also seems to be a function room separate from the pub outside. Guinness was excellent as was the Long Man Best Bitter.

Complete refurbishment to an excellent standard, all staff polite, courteous and efficient, food was excellent and all family members were served simultaneously, will be visiting again for sure, highly recommended ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of the best pubs around. As soon as I entered I was welcomed by the lovely landlady who made us feel so welcome. We were only stopping in for a drink but the smells from the kitchen made us order food and it did not disappoint!! Would definitely come back again and again!!!
