I was here with my friends yesterday for the karaoke we had so much fun, my friend had some small plates too for sharing they were delicious, such a great atmosphere and amazing staff, we will definitely come back again for the next karaoke❤️

Absolutely avoid the offering of Roast turkey dinner, AWFUL. Even after being assured this was real turkey and not turkey roll, it was turkey roll staff need educating. The rest of the components tasteless and just about luke warm. Such a shame as we have had good Xmas outings with our friends at this venue but this year we will not be booking our table there!

Bar is so nice , you can spent great time especially Val on the bar with his warm smile and quick wit, he instantly makes every guest feel welcome. He replaced me a friend), has an impressive knowledge of cocktails and always suggests the perfect drink based on your taste. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor create a great atmosphere. If you visit, be sure to say hi to Val! He is very cool 😎

Friday , I was in this bar and if say shortly is THE BEST BAR IN LONDON . It was a great evening , pleaceful atmosphere , nice service and very tasty food. But thing that really shocked me -was bar , from good bar begins good mood , and barman ( If I'm not mistaken, his name was Val) and Friday he was ON FIRE and made to our company amazing evening.

Very average pub. It redeeming factor is its quiet if that's what you want

We visited tonight as a family of 8 and we all absolutely loved our food. We are so impressed with the quality and portion size of each meal and would definitely recommend The Sutton Arms to anyone looking to eat at a traditional country pub The staff worked extremely hard as the restaurant was packed and deserve a special mention. Maybe another waiter wouldn’t go amiss.

I went in for lunch and was amazed at the food. It was hot and well presented. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the garden gives a relaxing atmosphere. Well worth the visit

This has to be one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long while and I eat out twice a week . The food took awhile to come to the table so you’d think it would be cook fresh and hot . Sadly the steak was stone cold along with the chips , the only thing reasonably hot was the onion rings …. I would go to Burger King across the rd if your in sutton I’ve emailed you as requested

Waited a whole hour for a burger and a steak n ale pie which comes with gravy. My burger was lovely but the pie was more ale than steak and literally a tablespoon of separate gravy in a tiny pot was a joke. I was furious so took the gravy back. We were offered a drink but as we’d almost finished a bottle of wine waiting I didn’t want more. The gravy took another 15 minutes but we had finished the dinner. Never again and no it’s not a one off

Fantastic Lobster & Steak/Surf & Turf, steak cooked to perfection using Himalayan salt stored quality meat and great prices. Unusually good choice of steak weights. Brilliant Service also, no more to say other than would highly recommend.

Staff were so attentive and friendly

The staff are very helpfully. But for a Saturday night the place was empty.

We went last weekend to celebrate a family occasion and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and a good choice from a varied menu was appreciated. I had gammon which I don't get at home and it was great only criticism is that it is probably to big and no pineapple. (two eggs though). Everyone had a great meal and the table was laid slightly oddly due to space but I am being super critical if I complain about this. Service by a combination of young serving staff was great and nobody was unhappy with there food. Will be there again soon.

First visit to the Sutton Arms and it won’t be our last. Fantastic food, great value & the service was like clockwork; absolutely first class! The Belly Pork starter & steak pie…. Wow!

First time visit to Sutton Arms while in the area... nice warm, welcoming local type pub. Well priced, and although didn't eat this time the menu looked tempting! Will definitely return and enjoyed my visit.

I've known this pub for many years but had recently been advised that the steaks were exceptional. And they are. Attended with friends, starters, 4 fillet steaks with sauce, 2 bottles of wine - £230 - exceptional value for money especially because the steaks really are superb. Choice of 6/8/10 oz fillet is welcome too. Over a decade ago this pubs famous coaching inn neighbour served the best steak I have eaten - until Friday night - that quality is back - perfectly cooked to each of our orders -blue, MR - all exactly as requested - with great flavour. Do not expect tablecloths and candles - this is still a pub - and all the better for it - it just happens to be an excellent steak restaurant too but don't expect to be in a high class restaurant environment - will be back if we can get in!

Sheridan is the best barmaid ever

I recently visited this pub and had a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff, especially our waiter Eva, was exceptional. The service was outstanding, and Eva went above and beyond to make our evening enjoyable. Her knowledge of the menu and recommendations added to the overall amazing dining experience and I appreciated that a lot. I highly recommend this pub!!

Recently visited this pub with some of my friends for some quick drinks. Saw the menu’s and just couldn’t not order. Was served by Eva with some great reccomendations and when the food was served, it did not dissapoint! The service was fast and outstanding. Will definately be returning!

A group of us booked here for an evening meal whilst staying locally. The menu looked varied and may be best described as Pub Grub Plus. The waitress who took our order may have been new as she was unable to answer almost any question about the food or drink available (such as do you serve dry ciders?) , although, to be fair, she did go and check. The food when it arrived was hot, tasty and plentiful and the only criticism was that the pastry on the pies (which seemed to be cooked separately from the contents) was a little undercooked. Overall, it would only have needed a few adjustments to push the 4-star rating to a 5.

Thought it would be busier with the rugby on, but it was terribly quiet. Barman was good and chatty which was great. Beer decent, bar clean. May be just a quiet night.

Went there for a drink and a catch up with a mate on a Friday night, it was pretty quite. Nice atmosphere, clean, tidy, staff were polite. Look forward to going back. They did keep the front door open and then meant the cold was coming in and the smoke would blow in. I should have mentioned it as I am sure they would have closed the door.

We had booked for Sunday lunch, when we arrived pub was all locked up, no one let us know on advance that they would be closed and offer us another booking. Not the way to run a business

This establishment has never failed in charm and service. The recent one star reviews are quite sad. I was there the quiz night in question. The team who have bombarded reviews were extremely rude to staff and fellow quizzes. They made my table feel uncomfortable and ruined a quiz night that has run smoothly and fun for well over 10years. I will continue to return. And I truely hope the team threatening to ‘never return again!’ Do not. This lovely pub doesn’t need those type of customers. Friendliest pub in town with a fantastic team!

What a great oasis after a heavy day shopping. Looks like I have found a great watering hole and didn't have to cook when I got home as fish and chips were sooooo good.

The Sutton Arms! Great Pub, Great Quiz Night….until tonight. Where do I start? Well, no raffle as ‘we just didn’t get round to it’. No problem, these things happen. Then the quiz starts and it is always so much fun…..until you have a quizmaster who has absolutely no interest in reading the questions and obviously wants to be somewhere else. A query on a question in round 1 was met with ‘you might be right but these questions were written a week ago so I am not changing the answers’. Round 2: ‘right answer but the words are in the wrong order’. Now I don’t really care if I win or lose, I am there to have fun and enjoy a great quiz which has always been brilliant at The Sutton Arms. Tonight, I felt absolutely intimidated by a rude, obnoxious person who made me feel completely uncomfortable. And when leaving, 3 teams of people said the same thing…that is 19 people who said, ‘they would find somewhere else’. What an absolute shame that one person can literally ruin a night. I have been to a few quiz nights at Sutton Arms and they have been great fun. So I cannot fault the pub. However, the way I was spoken to, as a female on my own at the bar, is an absolute disgrace. What a shame a great night for so many people can be ruined by someone who seems to not realise that people are there just to have fun. Update: Thank you for your response. You are right, we did win last week and actually came joint 1st this week too - which kind of defeats the objective of your comment and your insinuation. I reiterate, it is meant to be about having fun. I suggest you read the review again and look to where the problem lay and be humble enough to agree that if 18 people are saying the same thing that maybe you learn from it and make the Sutton Arms somewhere that people want to come and win.....but more importantly....have fun!!!!

FUNNY to see they now have 4 5* reviews in a 2 hours period this morning - all before 9.30, WOW and another 3 this afternoon......AMAZING...... more reviews in one day than they had in the previous 12 weeks. Loved it here (past tense,), especially the quiz night. Great staff, except the quiz master (lacked charisma) and one bar man who has argued with many of us in the past. Today he told us we were "entitled" and he would " be happy if we never came here again"..... wish granted.... we won't come again ********************* After seeing their childish answer we will elaborate. 3 question that we were CORRECT on and proved it were "disallowed" due to not being on his sheet. The silly narrative of your answer says more about you than us. BTW we put 5☆ on last week as a staff member BEGGED us to. We only won once but we came back regularly..... we didn't write bad reviews or stop coming all of the other times. The rudeness started before we even sat down, and has happened several times to various group members, so your silly reply doesnt hold ground does it?. This review is based entirely on the rudeness of 2 staff members... nothing to do with, what should have been, a "fun" quiz As a group we spent just under £200. We will give our money to people who are not so rude. 6 people from our 12 have given negative feedback about the establishment on the meet up app.. CHANGED TO 1☆ DUE TO THE CONTINUED BAD ATTITUDE. A business that can not accept its shortcomings will NEVER improve. Note your food still gets a 4*

Having been to The Sutton Arms many times before and always been impressed, this visit was very disappointing. The starters were of previous standards and very nice but the rest of the experience was not so great. Having 2 Coeliacs in the party and knowing that the restaurant claims to offer gluten free options, I was disappointed not to be offered any GF bread with the soup. The main course - mixed meat Sunday lunch, also gluten free, was tasteless and something definitely contained gluten as I had a reaction in the restaurant. When going to the toilet, I slipped on the wooden floor where that had been a spillage that had not been adequately dried. The service was very poor - no serving spoons, small quantities of veg, drinks orders forgotten about and the mixed meat lunch only had beef & chicken. No sign of the advertised lamb. Can’t believe how much the standards have dropped since our last visit. I won’t be returning.

Kitchen was closed when we arrived after work (fine) Very rude staff member who accosted our group based on our sport support. Rugby WC ( not fine . Booked the seat in advance) A very empty bar. No fun at all really except our selves. Bar full time of rugby goers . Shhhh. Let not make a.NOISE!!! No wonder why they have warned me about this place!!! Rubbish!! Sports not welcome apparently!!!

Staff are good Lager prices have risen from Carlesberg at £3.30 pint (now discontinued) to the cheapest lager at £4.65 and up..... Overpricing themselves and have noticed its pretty empty now..... Glasses need replacing, even after being washed look disgusting around the rim through wear an tear..... Needs urgent new seating furniture, so many chairs with covers and foam on show....looks really bad..... Come on Green King .....get your fingers out please if you want to stay in the Sutton pub game......😉 Clean up and lower your prices your in Sutton not West End...

Ordered a Mac and Cheese it was horrendous! tasted just like the Heinz tinned mac and cheese you can buy for £1. It was luke warm and the pub was very dirty. Would not recommend. (yes correct pub made a error on previous post about price).

We visited recently having read excellent reviews . We were not disappointed . The meal and service was fantastic especially the steaks . The Rib eye was delicious . The pub was packed and no wonder . Shout out for the great staff who although busy were really attentive . We would certainly return and recommend

Absolutely gorgeous steaks. Hubby normally has steak well done ( I know 🙄) his 16oz came out more medium and was slightly pink, he thoroughly enjoyed it, saying it was the best he’d ever had, he’s now converted 🙌🏼. My 12oz was cooked perfectly, homemade chips, salad, veg,Diane sauce and a side of onion rings, more than enough for 2 people. The staff are friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble for them. Definitely will return.

Had a great night watching the football with my family and friends, our bartender Adam served us drinks and recommended pub favourites. Always nice to have that personal touch, all drinks were so lovely and well prepared with fresh fruit. Will definitely be returning!

Went today for Sunday lunch. It was very disappointing. One slice of wafer thin beef and a Yorkshire pudding each and only a small amount of verge in one small bowl between 3 of us. It was my Grans 80 birthday and she does not eat much yet we all left hungry. Perhaps we were unlucky or the chef was having a bad day?

We enjoyed, tremendously, our Sunday lunch on New Years Day. It really requires a superlative to describe the food because it was wonderful. My wife described the chicken as some of the best she had ever eaten. We followed up with desserts and it was a very special way to spend New Years Day. Lovely pub with great staff and an outstanding atmosphere. This is what a country pub should be. Thanks.

Friendly staff but food was disappointing. Roast dinner was lukewarm, nearly raw whole carrots and everything tasted the same for some reason. Happy to drink in here but wouldn’t eat again.

Visited last week for drinks and food and was blown away. Beer tasted great (lines obviously kept in tip top shape) , food was incredible I believe the menu has recently been updated, and great service with a smile. What more could you want? Great little boozer will definitely be coming back 🙂

Usually my go-to pub in Sutton, have been coming on and off for years now. The staff have usually been friendly, the layout is nice, and there's a decent selection of beers on tap. Was a shame that I had a bit of a surprise when I was last there a couple of weeks ago. I was there to catch up with an old friend and went to get him a mulled wine...with my pint of peroni, it came to £14.50. This seemed a bit high so I questioned it, but the young lady behind the bar said £8.50 was correct for a mulled wine. I've been to Christmas markets all over London and gastro pubs selling the stuff but this is the most I've ever been charged for a mulled wine, and I certainly hadn't expected this, but I paid up. On leaving the pub, I couldn't help but notice a sign on one of the tables: 'mulled wine, £5'. I can only guess that we were charged £8.50 for a 'mulled wine spritz' on the cocktail menu and the lady serving us had chosen the wrong option when serving. It was certainly just a regular mulled wine (a pretty bog standard one at that) that we received and I had not asked for a spritz. Wasn't impressed by that and will be less enthusiastic to return.

We finally visited after several recommendations. . From the moment we arrived we were looked after by attentive and friendly staff. The restaurant was busy with a bubbling, cosy atmosphere. We ordered drinks which arrived promptly while we made our food choices (great variety of food with prices to suit all budgets). My husband had his heart set on the steak and lobster, I went for the seabass with tiger prawns in a green Thai broth with noodles. Both meals were absolutely beautiful, perfectly cooked and presented, with plenty of sides included in the price (chips, veg and salad). We were even brought complimentary cups of homemade soup while our food was being cooked which was a lovely touch. Can't recommend highly enough, absolutely the best steak we've ever eaten!

Just returned from the Sutton Arms after having Sunday lunch. From the moment we arrived at the pub the staff made us feel if we were the only customers. The service from the young staff is amazing, they are all very polite and can't do enough for you. The food was delicious, we went straight into the main course of one beef and one lamb. This came with Yorkshire pudding and plenty of veg plus the most beautiful gravy. We got asked if we wanted more veg or gravy, I must say I did take her up on the offer of the gravy it was so tasty We finished with two deserts of ice cream and cheesecake. This was amazing value with drinks just over £30.00. You will be seeing us very soon Thankyou to all the staff at the Sutton Arms

Clean, decent television, beer isn't expensive. Good experience. I might raise this to 5 stars when I visit next time!

Pleasant pub & friendly staff. Plenty of indoor seating with booths for those preferring quieter areas. Some seating outside. Accessible toilet downstairs with more toilets located on 1st floor.
