Friendly Dolphin in Sutton

Had chips and saveloy from this restaurant. The chips were OK but not great. Could have done with more salt and vinegar on them as well. The saveloy was nice.

Ordered some chips.. they were £2.50 lukewarm and rubbery. Avoid at all costs. Chips definitely sat there for hours. Not fresh. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

staff are absolutely horrid to customers, have zero respect and take far too long. they show no respect in anything they do

Fabulous fish & chips, freshly cooked, good portion sizes. The shop was very clean, we ate in. Highly recommend for a fish & chip meal, take away or eat in.

I had ordered the Afternoon special and got oap meal instead chip were like cardboard and then be to told how the price of fish has gone up Since New Ownership

Great service and tasty fresh food

I ordered through just eat and when my order arrived 2 cod was missing. When I managed to get through to the restaurant it turned out to be a mistake by the driver not the restaurant. The restaurant owner was absolutely lovely and delivered the missing food himself which was delicious. Would definitely recommend and will be ordering again just not through just eat.

I’ve been going to this fish and chip shop for as long as I can remember and refuse to go anywhere else. The lady who works there is so lovely and polite, their food is absolutely brilliant and very reasonably priced. Can’t recommend the friendly dolphin enough!

Probably the best plaice (geddit?!!) in Sutton for fish and chips. Unfortunately it isn't cheap as chips as the average fish and chips dinner will cost over £10 but it remains reasonable. They insist on cash only and don't accept cards. One doesn't have to be a tax accountant to figure that one out.

Highly recommend their lunchtime special, fish chips and drink for £5. Amazing portion, amazing taste, amazing price!

Prices have gone up, quality has gone down. My 3 savaloys were hard and very over cooked, plus coating was coming off in my hand. However freindly owners. Would recommend if you dont mind this type of service.

As a chippy fan, I am trying to check all the chippies out. The Friendly Dolphin Fish and Chips is located accross the road from Sutton Station. It was my first time, so I just got a pound worth of chips to start. The chips were not greasy with a full on potato tastes strangely like crisps.

Good food but rude customer service unfortunately. I said I wanted a small cod. Got served and charged for a large. Then basically told I need to pay more attention. Very rude staff particularly the woman. Clearly overcharging people as their footfall is reduced. Would check your change and avoid at all costs.

Down here working from Glasgow. Fancied fisn n chips. Didn't disappoint me. Freshly cooked and the old fella was very polite.

The staff are friendly, the food is really good and reasonably priced.

Pretty Good fish & Chips in Sutton!

Did love it but the old man there is stroppy and rude. Most of the staff are lovely but just can’t deal with him anymore. And the food is often almost cold and they don’t have half the menu in the evenings. They also are cash only.

Early evening, you get reheated chips from lunchtime. Unfortunately, It seems like quality has gone down in the past year or so.

Really disappointed that they are cash only - no signs saying that. It’s simply not safe to use cash during a pandemic and the answer “we don’t have a card machine, go to Tesco ATM” doesn’t cut the mustard. Firstly my phone is no use at an ATM and I know many people pay that way now. Secondly during the whole of a 5 month lockdown a card reader couldn’t be sourced? It’s down to not wanting to pay a percentage per transaction. That’s not great. The food was okay. Chips were fine. Saveloy tasted like it had been sitting there for hours. Very tough. Reasonable prices, fresh and clean interior, Perspex around counter, very good range of drinks and the guy did apologise (once I came back for food after searching in glove box for change) The card situation must be changed though. At least put a sign up warning people. I would never have gone in had I known. Maybe that’s the point.

Went here tonight with Wife. They dont have Fish & Chips in Thailand so she always likes going here .Alway to many chips

Great to see this place open & setup for safe business. Clear signs and perspex screen in place. Open between 5pm - 9pm Monday to Saturday. They are still cash only. Friendly service appreciated!

Food not fresh, there are better places to eat fish and chip in Sutton, don’t eat at this place to avoid disappointment

This is the best fish and chips in Sutton. Not only is the food absolutely lovely the staff are amazing and friendly. Definitely worth eating in their little seating area too! Family friendly

Sells great food for amazing prices, I had lunchtime deal which was medium fish, chips and drink for £5! Last week, I went to a different fish and chip shop, had the same meal, but cost double the price and was no where near as nice. The gentlemen serving me was polite and friendly and dished up our food incredibly fast. Lily J

Have been here several times usually once a Month. we have Haddock and Chips ass we like the Fish cooked Fresh. It is always veryn tasty the batter is Crisp and the freshly cooked chips are a treat/ .

The cod is great but the chips are often served cold.

The person running the place is very nice and polite and generous They have an offer of 5£ for fish+chips+soda if u come before 2pm which works great for me always

Fish is always good especially when cooked fresh. Batter can be greasy and chips can be a bit soggy sometimes.

Probably the area's best fish and chip shop. The shop itself is immaculately clean and modern and the staff are very friendly. It's more take-away focussed, but they do have a table where you can eat in if you wish. The fish and chios are excellent and portion sizes are big. I also appreciated the fact that the owner gave me two gherkins for the price of one as he deemed them "rather small". (They seemed fine to me). Very good service and products and highly recommended.

If you ask they will batter pineapple or marsbars for you. Which is awesome. Love this place. Can be busy in peak times. High demand for high quality... So I always call ahead...just let the staff know you've already ordered or you may find yourself waiting in peak times to order and it's already ready.

Never ever been bothered about writing reviews until I visited this chip shop this evening. Just moved to the area so thought I would check it out as you can't beat a good fish and chips. I'm literally disgusted with the customer service I received, all because I used to much vinegar on my chips. The guy literally grunted at me and then raised his voice. No wonder the place is always empty. Will not be going here again.

My favourite fish and chips shop. Not gone anywhere else since I started coming here. Good and friendly staff, nice and fresh food, just love it. And after the refurbishment is even cleaner and nicer
