I don't normally complete reviews but The Waterside in Littleborough simply deserves the recommendation. Had a fantastic night this week- really really good food, great ambience, attentive staff (one of our group has to avoid onions and often this gets missed by other venues but not here). We all had different dishes and each one was perfect. Great vegetarians options for my partner. Even a Vegan menu to choose from- you don't often see that- check it out on their website if you want. One of our group had fillet steak and said it was excellent. A big thank you.

Excellent Sunday lunch had the roast beef was so tender cooked to perfection all the trimmings delicious recommend this place if looking for a place to eat good food.

Well, what can I say! The staff, the ambience, and more importantly the food, was absolutely exceptional. If you are visiting Littleborough or Hollingworth Lake, give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. Well done to all.

We finally got a table after trying for 2 years. It was definitely worth the wait. Everything was 10/10. We visited for our 19th wedding anniversary. The food was amazing as was the service. We will definitely be back again if they will have us. Spoke to a lovely young lady who was enjoying her private birthday party with her family in the cabin and she was having a great time would definitely consider the cabin for a small party. We were all disappointed with our food. Between us we had steak, chicken skewers, prawns, chips and garlic bread. Nice place and staff though.

Found this restaurant on trip advisor. We were meeting friends from Leeds and we live South of Stockport . This restaurant is excellent for Gluten Free options. This is a pub restaurant with a nice seating areas. Also an outside seating area. Large Wood tables and nice booths. A family owned business with Becky serving us and Ian is the chef. What a chef he is. As you can see from our reviews worldwide we are well travelled. I have to say the meal we had was as good a meal as we have tasted round the world. I had Coconut GF battered shrimps. Superb. Main course Thai green sea bass curry. GF cheesecake to finish. All four of us had superb meals. Portions were plenty. I can highly recommend you visit if in the area.

We went for Mother’s Day, the food and service were excellent, there was 6 of us and everyone enjoyed the food they ordered, it was a good menu on the day with lots of choices, great value too, would highly recommend 👍

The Sunday lunch here is excellent value for money. Plenty of roast beef, a massive Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings too at only £18. Can't be beaten. When you add the warm welcome from all the staff, it's just like being at home with the family, except you don't have to do the washing up :)

Just about 3 weeks ago we had a most wonderful 70ies birthday party with 34 people for a late lunch. The lunch was excellent, with a carefully selected choice of menus with every dish being excellent. Lisa and her crew made the organisation and serving so easy, so effortless, so natural and cheerful. They simply were part of the family. We had the entire restaurant for ourselves with an open bar, two long interlinked tables and several small tables for spontaneous brake-off groups. Everyone was delighted, we could not have imagined it any better. The total price for these festivities was very reasonable! Thank you to Lisa and the entire Waterfront Restaurant Serving and Kitchen Team for the great party and the excellent food. My husband and all guests just loved it!

Impromptu visit with the in laws from Ireland made a last minute booking for 5 people, the service was attentive but discreet, Becky checked we had everything needed and discussed the menu choice at length, good choice in the spare of the moment The food was delicious and we will certainly return

Very nice and welcoming restaurant We enjoyed our visit and dined from the small plates menu. I would just say that we ordered 3 dishes each which was plenty but they do all come to the table at the same time and by the time you get to the last dish it may not be as warm as some would like I myself do not mind this but some might maybe just ask them to delay the service a bit I'm sure they won't mind as they do there best to accommodate customers

We went with friends for the first time in a couple of years. The staff were super welcoming and really looked after us all evening. If anything, the food was even better than previously (and that is saying something) and, with the addition of a small plates menu, the choice is great. I would definitely recommend a visit and will be returning very soon.

Well now I know about this place I’ll definitely be back for sure. I’d been for a walk along the canal with my daughter then we went for some food which certainly didn’t disappoint and I’m very fussy ! We booked a table for our small wedding party of 11. The atmosphere, the food , wine and service was superb. Everyone of our guests enjoyed every course of their meal. Christmas Dinner at this restaurant was absolutely out of this world. We booked for five of us to have Christmas dinner here at 1pm on 25th December. The experience from start to finish was out of this world. The service was excellent from booking. We arrived and was immediately taken to our table - which was wheelchair accessible (previously requested). The service from this point was second to none. We were kept topped up with drinks at all times and kept informed of where the kitchen was up to with our food orders. Not at any point were we rushed or made to feel like they needed the table cleared. The food was of the highest quality. It was piping hot and of a really excellent standard. I previously requested with Lisa a very specific order for my son who was unable to have from the main Christmas menu. This was accommodated without hesitation. Despite this not being on the main menu, it was still of the highest quality which he thoroughly enjoyed. The service from Lisa, the waitresses through to the kitchen staff was outstanding and this team deserved their weight in gold !!!. This was an amazing experience and we won't hesitate to book Christmas dinner at The Waterside for 2024.

We had our Christmas Day meal at the restaurant and enjoyed it very much. The service was nice and the food all home made. We had a nice table for three and although they were very busy. There were lots of staff to help look after our table. Thank you Lisa and staff :)

The Waterside is a luxurious, warm, friendly restaurant. It is perfect for many occasions, from a romantic meal for two, to a family gathering or celebration. The venue has a number of high-backed booths that provide a sense of luxury, as well as a degree of privacy. There is an extremely well stocked bar that has a wide range of quality beers, wines & spirits. During warmer months there is the opportunity to dine al fresco with a number of outdoor tables set in a lovely garden with excellent views. However, perhaps one of the best areas to dine is in The Waterside's 'Cabin'. This is a wooden building that brings cosy to a whole new level. With a feeling of a Swiss chalet, it has it's own bar, heating, Bluetooth sound system, enabling you to choose your own music, and provides the opportunity to host private parties, works dos, family gatherings or, in my instance, surprise 50th birthday celebrations! The food we had was delicious and the service was exceptional. The waitresses who looked after us worked their socks off and no one was waiting for drinks. They were attentative but in no way intrusive and helped build a great atmosphere. With great food, drinks, service and venue, I can't recommend the Waterside enough. They fully deserve the #1 spot on Trip Advisor for restaurants in Littleborough.

What a great find, lovely atmosphere, attentive staff amazing food, even the local's are welcoming, back 'garden' stunning, and of course reasonably priced. we started with olives and garlic bread - loads of olives, followed by the specials steak, black pudding goats cheese, steak prawns and garlic, roast pork and salmon followed by sticky toffee pudding with homemade custard and cheeseboard, lovely chutney and nuts good wine selection - no rush, after the meal we sat outside really enjoyed our time very chilled. highly recommend this restaurant

We opted for the private dining experience in the cabin as part of a 60th birthday celebration. Lisa and Becky looked after us prior to the day, and their team were fabulous, attentive and helpful throughout our day. We pre-ordered the food, and on the day it did not disappoint. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal and the overall experience was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a dinner or a function.

This is my mother in law's favourite restaurant and we come every time we visit. The food is always fantastic and the staff are super friendly. The owner has a strong presence and is checking in on the customers. The menu could be made a little simpler by maybe being in a book form instead of sheets of paper. They have a great vegan menu also gluten free options. The atmosphere and interior are very warm welcoming and remaind a firm family favourite after 10 years.

We recently visited to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday and we booked the cabin. Booking was easy and straightforward. The cabin is perfect for family get togethers as having your own private space (especially when you have children in your party) is ideal. The kids can wander around and be as noisy as they like without annoying any other diners! The service was really friendly and attentive and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The food was delicious and everyone really enjoyed it. We will be back!

Food is way too expensive for what you get. They’re charging the price you pay in a top city centre restaurant for average food. Food isn’t bad but nothing more than decent pub food. Just short of £40 for a fillet is joke and £5.50 for a BOTTLE of Budweiser! Staff all really helpful. Booking system doesn’t work as we booked cabin but was double booked when we arrived.

Exemplary food and service. Never had a bad or even average meal here. Spot on every time. And if the weather is good the outside area overlooking the canal is one of the nicest spots in the whole area

From the minute we walked in there was a lovely welcome to this beautiful place. The staff and owner Lisa looked after my daughter, grandaughter, and myself so well. Came here with my mum and little girl who is 3. The food was INSANE, we had the Ravioli and Seabass, followed by a Crunchie Cheesecake! The service was excellent, and the staff/kitchen were very accommodating for my daughter, there isn't a children's menu and they simply said, "we can make anything you'd like for the little one" really refreshing & will definitely be back soon!
