Been there 4 or 5 times staff are very friendly and helpful food is really good so will be paying it another visit ty to the new management team ty from RAB %PAT

Good food, great drink selection. Staff were all so pleasant, polite and helpful. Was served quickly but there was a bit of a delay in our food coming out to us. Waited an hour and there was only 4 of us but apart from that everything was good.

Right from the beginning of our evening, the staff were fantastic! I had reserved a table for 14, but we ended up needing 5 more seats. Rob, who manages the waterside, made sure we were all accommodated. The entire team was friendly and went out of their way to help us during our visit. Rob, Charlene, and Claire made us feel truly welcome. Despite having 4 separate orders, all the food arrived at the same time. I'm already looking forward to our next celebration! 🥳 Thank you for being such wonderful hosts; my son had an incredible 21st birthday! 🥳

Great food, nice fast service at a bargain at £13.49 for 2 meals that taste great and are filling. The staff are friendly and welcoming, don't mind a chat for a minute when not to busy. Just tried there app order system and found it to work brilliantly 👏

Here on holiday at a local caravan park. Found this pub and visited every day, as the staff, service and food were excellent. So clean! The place smelled like it had just been cleaned when we walked in! Hours after they had opened. Will definitely visit again.

Great steaks nice atmosphere Now cleaner and received 5 for hygiene after losing it few months ago. Last visit,on a Friday, a few weeks ago, they had no batter for the fish!!!

First visit to this pub and it truly was the most warmest welcome from staff. The food was outstanding and so hot and tasty. Staff couldn't do enough for us, nothing was to much trouble. We were a party of 3 adults and 2 infants. Anything we asked for was kindly done. The desserts were wow. Thank you for a pleasant warm welcome. Your staff are amazing.

This is the 2nd time we have visited since it has been taken over. The food again today was absolutely outstanding. Me and my wife decided to have the gammon sizzler which was simply amazing. My Son opted for the Cheesy Stacker burger. My son has said that this was the best burger he has had in a long time.We do have a local green king pub not far from where we live (Plymouth) but we always drive to the Waterside Inn as we know that the food is AMAZING!!!!We will definitely be back soon👍

First time back after a good few months away. Change of management and certainly a change of atmosphere! Rob & Rachel have completely made what was once a place to avoid, one to check out again. Great food, friendly staff and a pub that I will most definitely be going back to again.

Me and my partner have been coming here every year on holiday for several years, the pub has now definitely changed for the better. The food that we had was excellent and the beer and service was the same…👍🏻 Rob and his partner could not of done more for us. Hopefully we will see them there next year.

Christmas lunch 2024 and the owners had only taken the pub over 7 weeks before. Such a lovely welcome with personal Christmas cards on each table and crackers etc. It was a very cheerful Christmassy atmosphere and the staff were working very hard. The lunch was very nice and brought timely to the table. The new owners stopped to genuinely chat with us despite how busy they were so it was nice personal experience. We were visiting from Jersey but will definitely be back k when we head that way again. Good luck with all the planned changes and best wishes. From the Jersey family

First time we have been to this Greene King pub. Great location, easy to access with good parking and electric charging for cars if you need it. We received a lovely welcome even though we hadn't booked they managed to find us a free table to eat at. The food was really nice and great value for money. Would definitely come again next time I am in the area.

4 of us ate here on a busy sat evening. All our food was great and fab value. Bogof on certain meals aswell and certain drinks. Very friendly staff. Maybe need extra bar staff as had to queue for drinks. Well worth a visit thankyou.

We popped in on Monday evening and had a really lovely meal. Tasty, hot and reasonably priced. The Manager (Rob) was warm and welcoming and we went back yesterday afternoon for a drink. Have rated it at 5 stars as couldn’t fault it in anyway. Keep up the good work. We will definitely be back, when in the area x

Great service by Josh today who was behind the bar and also serving tables. He really made the visit in the fact he was attentive with all the customers, very natural and came across genuine. I’ve personally managed hospitality venues for nearly 15 years and he’s definitely got “it” for any front of house and is a credit to the venue. I should’ve asked what the fish was in the fish and chips, I suspect it may have been Basa which had I known I probably wouldn’t have ordered it. My fault for not asking - I will add that the batter was crispy but if it was as I suspect, Basa is a very cheap imported fish from Asia that’s not farmed in great conditions. Anyway I know for next time and there are plenty of other things to order.

This place is one of the best pubs I've been to. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the beer and food is second to none. Dog friendly and a great place to eat at very affordable prices when staying in Paignton. Cannot recommend this place high enough. Don't just take my word for it, you must give this pub a try.

We celebrated Christmas with a family meal at Waterside on 23 December. We had an amazing evening. Rob, Rachel and the team were super attentive and made us feel so welcome. The Christmas Festive Food menu was delicious too.

Rachel and Rob are the new landlord and landlady of the waterside pub in Paignton in the few weeks that Rachel has taken over the atmosphere has changed the pub is much more friendly always warm to go into Rachel and Rob always greet you when you walk in. The food has improved greatly and fairly priced. Definitely worth a visit.

Treated my mum to an early Christmas meal tonight and we had a lovely evening. It's great to see the restaurant busy again. Food was good, service was excellent and we're glad to be supporting our local again. Many thanks and hope you all have a great Christmas.

We visited as a family party of 10 for a Christmas gathering. The table was laid out festive for us and the food and service was brilliant. Best meal and service we have ever had here. Very impressed by new management, they worked very efficiently despite being short on staff. Can't fault the service xx

Had a lovely meal here this evening, staff were lovely, it's a shame they had a table of Karen's on the next table to us..the staff bent over backwards to please them..no pleasing some people...we enjoyed our meal and will definitely be coming back

We returned to The Waterside Inn tonight for our third time, we are on holiday in Brixham from Bedfordshire. Absolutely brilliant service, beautiful food served hot and presented lovely, such good value for money and lovely clean premises. Nothing was to much trouble for Rachel and Rob, they are the most friendly and accommodating people you could wish to meet. We will definitely make it our regular eating place when we return in the new year. Thank you so much for such an enjoyable experience, see you soon. Highly recommend you visit!

Went in a couple of days ago as recently moved to the area. The atmosphere was incredible and the staff all a smile on their faces.

Called in as we were staying at a local holiday park and was glad we did. Very welcoming and helpful, we ate the sharing platter which was more than we could manage, coupled with a good selection of beers made for a great night, we will be back to try the pie before the weekend is out as that looked amazing, thanks 😎

I booked a tabke for 11 adults and 6 children for birthday celebration, service was brilliant and food lovely upon booking i spoke to Rachel at who was so helpful but i had to reschule for a later time, she was so kind and helpful thank you Rachel and staff and we all had a lovely time. Thank you.

Paid £53 for food and drinks and the food was the worst flamming grill I have ever had,, had to send my steak back as I could cut through it,, chips were vile, missing onion rings , chicken was really dry,, the gammon uneatable due to how salty it was,, so not a good meal whilst on holiday,, won't be going back

Dog friendly pub. We stopped here on the way back from the beach, to have something to eat and drink. Friendly staff, lovely food. Good value for money as well. We will return for sure

My wife and I are on holiday at the Waterside Holiday Park in Goodrington and were very pleased to discover the Waterside Inn to be within reasonable walking distance. We went there tonight for dinner and found that the food was amazing and with a good range of dishes. I had lamb kofta starter, gammon skillet main and sticky toffee cheesecake for dessert. My wife had garlic breaded mushrooms and steak and ale pie. All the food was cooked to perfection and tasted great - and was served at the correct temperature. However, the most notable feature was the exceptional service from all staff, who were very polite, friendly and efficient. In particular I must single out and thank Gemma, the duty manager, who went above and beyond to resolve a complicated price discount voucher problem on my bill. She remained calm and attentive and resolved the issue to my complete satisfaction in an extremely helpful way. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anybody. We shall definitely be visiting again before the end of our holiday. Thanks to all who made our evening so enjoyable.

I like to say complements to the chef because the food was amazing. Also thanks to the manager Jemma. The bar tender Chloe and the staff member Finley. The service we received was fantastic and we be coming back again. 100% reccomend.

No wonder it's in top 10%, we always go there when staying at Beverley park campsite.

I downloaded the app to make it easy to order. I would suggest when the staff look at the orders and take time to read then. My partner had fish and chips with mushy peas and a side order of bread and butter I asked for no tartar sause but it came with it anyway (no biggy). The bread I believe had been kept at best in the fidge or worse in the freezer as it was served incredibly cold (almost unedible). I had the all day breakfast with a side of toast, over all the breakfast was good, but the toast was burnt on one side and barely done on the other, what made me laugh was the fact that the chef had put the toast burnt side down, I can only assume so you didn't see it. Then the drinks I asked for no ice in both drinks and a slice just in my own. Both drinks arrived with ice and a slice. The pub was not busy, the tables needed a wipe down and the serving staff should remember to smile. The best thing about this pub is that it is dog friendly, and I thank you for that. The food itself wasn't awful, but some attention to the orders would go a long way.

Nice friendly pub good food great value

We had an extremely arduous journey across the country, we were in dire need for a good feed. My grandad ordered the all day breakfast…it came, he ate, retired to the bathroom and disappeared…we found him many hours later quivering in the bushes. He said it was the best all day breakfast he’d ever had.

I've been to a few GK's over the years, of course any establishment could be hit and miss and none go out of their way to be poor. Came through Paignton and stopped here for a quick lunch, went with Fish and Chips because i just can't help myself and it came out quick, hot and utterly delicious. Service was very friendly, if i ever happen through here again and i just want a quick bite i will definately drop in.

Took my son for lunch and he enjoyed his pasta with a tasty tomato sauce. Loved the garlic bread and ordered more. Kids brownies are fantastic here. Nice to see different thatchers ciders on draught as I like the orange one. Very friendly staff and even though they took the wrong payment for drinks as charged for an extra one, the lady was immediate to refund as cash. Will revisit again and try the steak and ale pie as been recommended this lots of time before.

We are on holiday in the area and popped in for a breakfast and what a lovely breakfast it was. Unfortunately it is the last as they stopped doing them from today10/08/2023 which is a shame. But if you go in at 11 they do an all day breakfast on the main menu so all is not lost. We got talking to a member of staff Josh he was very friendly and welcoming. So many thanks Josh

Way too busy. No parking space.

My husband (who is a chef) and I came for dinner on Tuesday night. The staff were friendly and service was quick. Unfortunately, the fish and chips was not great - the portion size a little small and the batter was terrible. However the staff were apologetic and kindly compensated us with complimentary desserts We decided to come back tonight (Thursday) and ordered burgers. It was a little busy, but it took 45 minute to get our food and one of the orders was completely wrong. The server seemed unapologetic but corrected the order but the chips were re-cooked and old. They did sort it but only after I’d almost finished my meal. Another member of staff was apologetic and offered a complementary drink. The staff are mostly very pleasant and the chocolate trio dessert was excellent, but wouldn’t go back I’m sorry.

We Came down on Holiday (family of 5 ) and spent every evening In the Waterside Inn , The Staff was amazing and friendly even when extremely busy! Food was lovely and great also reasonable for the kids .. definitely be coming Back .... Thanks again Waterside

Loved this place, we were only in Paignton for 12 nights and spent both nights in the Waterside Inn, got busier Saturday evening, but the atmosphere was really good👍

Not a bad place. Could do with a makeover bit of a lick of paint just to spruce it up a little. Food selection is good, quality is average. Shame most of the seating outside is in the shade in the evening.

We were a party of 10, 5 adults and 5 children. We phoned to book and they were able to accommodate us for that same evening. We had not visited this venue previously, so I didn't know what to expect, but I had read the reviews, which seemed quite positive. I would say that the venue is in need of quite a lot of refurbishment, but saying that the staff are absolutely wonderful, very friendly, helpful and pleasant. The food was very good value and despite there being 10 of us, the food was delivered to our table within minutes of ordered. We all enjoyed our meals, the stsff were attentive but not intrusive and i would give the staff 10 stars for their service.
