We had elicious breakfasts in a lovely setting overlooking canal. Always great quality food and welcoming and friendly service. Veggie breakfast is best in Nantwich and the normal English breakfast is great too. Food is always nicely presented. Cakes are all home made and my other half thinks the Bakewell slice is the best he has ever eaten. He can never resist taking a slice back home! Thanks for a delicious breakfast.

We had a lovely welcome , we soon found a table. The views over the canal basin were lovely. We decided on the siup(leek & potato) and a full sandwich, we had tuna mayo and bacon. Everything was excellant, the soup was steaming, just what we needed. We bought cakes to take home. The staff were all friendly. We'd definitely go back.

Small indoor cafe with table and chairs outside overlooking the canal. The tea bags appeared to me to be a cheaper variety and therefore lacking reasonable strength. The teaspoons being honest could do with an extra clean as they showed signs from previous tea usage in form of ground in stains. The egg bap was served on a seeded bap! Which looked irregular. The breakfast looked and presented well was let down by the sausage which were only aired in temperature but a cheap processed sausage and spoilt the overall breakfast.

This is a small cafe with several outside tables protected from the rain or sun. We had cakes, and a couple of cream teas. We arrived after last orders but the exceptionally friendly staff were happy to serve us. Good was excellent! As good and indeed better than far posher places. Lots of tastes catered for, eg green tea, veggie etc. Highly recommended and very convenient for canal boat users as close to water, fuel, recycling and showers.

Had a lovely club sandwich here, I am always super grateful for a gluten free vegan option & especially such a tasty one (hummus, avocado & sun dried tomatoes). Lovely setting, staff were friendly, it’s the second time I’ve been & really glad I found it! (Would’ve been 5 but the tomatoes on the side were slightly past their best and I don’t like oil on my salad which I’ll mention next time, I’ve only bothered put that in case anyone was wondering 😂!)

Me and a group of friends stopped here today during a sponsored walk we were doing. The food was well priced, plentiful and tasted great. Beautiful setting of the marina and great indoor and outdoor space. The staff here were lovely and we had a good chat to them all as we ate our lunches and they filled our water pouches up ready for the next leg. In short this place is great, food good, setting Beautiful and staff amazing. Thank you guys.

I took my friend to this beautiful little eaterie on August 10th to celebrate her birthday. It was a blistering hot day and although I had reserved a table inside, we decided to sit on the waters edge under the canopy that runs alongside the cafe. It was so lovely and relaxing especially as there was a slight breeze blowing off the water and the added visit by a cheeky little duck made the whole experience just perfect. I cannot fault the service it was helpful friendly but not intrusive.. We opted for tuna sandwiches with side salad and crisps and a bowl of chips, my friend had a rose' wine. We topped this with a coffee and tea. We were unable to sample any cakes as the meal really filled us up. A good excuse for a further visit for afternoon tea/coffee and cake. The beauty of this little place is that there is plenty of parking. and it is perfect if you are on your own or with friends.

I use the cafe whenever I'm in Nantwich & it's always superb. You can tell their ingredients are top quality as everything is full of flavour . This morning we had a veggie breakfast & avocado with poached eggs. I don't like runny eggs and requested them fully cooked and this was completed perfectly. The coffee and cakes are also excellent.

Called in at 3:50 for a quick coffee having seen on the website it was open until 4.00 Told it was closed (people sitting at tables drinking?) The lady behind the counter said that as business had been quiet they were closing early. You would think that being quiet would make them appreciative of any business. Wouldn't have minded if they had asked what we wanted... wouldn't expect them to start cooking. I am fairly sure they could have served us coffee in the 10 minutes they advertised as being open. Not impressed . Presumably the cafe opening times are set to suit the public not the staff.

In the past, I’ve only had good things to say about the Waterside,,,,however, went last week, for an all day breakfast, and coffee. Food was very good, but the decaf coffee, looked like a cup of hot milk, no colour or taste at all. I went back to the counter, and asked if they would kindly put an extra teaspoon of any coffee in my drink. I was told to go back to my seat, and they would make another,,,, when it was brought back, I could hardly tell the difference,,,,,but was asked for an extra 60p, for an extra shot. Shot of what? I’ve no idea, it wasn’t coffee.... I had a feeling, that the staff were upset, because I had said, that I couldn’t taste the coffee??? Whatever, sadly, won’t be visiting again....

This café occupies a brilliant spot by the canal and was very busy so obviously popular. We did think breakfast prices were rather high but probably reflective of Nantwich area. The lady who took our order at the till wasn't particularly friendly but food was fine. The waitress came to clear another table and she dropped her cleaning cloth on the floor under the table. She left it there whilst she cleared the crockery away. BUT she then returned, picked it up and cleaned tables with it! I then witnessed a young waitress ruffle the head of a customers dog then go back to serving food. Those are such basic hygiene errors and have put me of ever returning... Training required!

It was a lovely morning so decided to take mum to the Waterside for brunch. The coffee and the food was lovely - fresh to order. The area is nice and great for a dog walk too. However, if a member of your party is infirm on their feet it isn't the best area to navigate for them - sorry I cannot say it is suitable for all and certainly not for disabled folk. The pathway by the canal is taken over by cycles and tables and chairs - redesign required and a cycle park should be provided by the cars not on the walkway. The staff are polite and I would go again.

Interesting location at Nantwich marina so a nice spot to visit on a sunny day after a canalside walk. Seats inside, under a shelter and outside this cosy cafe. Good sized toasted teacakes and an unusually enjoyable pot of tea. There was a good selection of cakes and traybakes. The cafe is let down a bit by the toilet facilities. You need to ask for a key to use them and no attempt has been made to make them pleasant. I consider it unhygienic to have one cotton towel for everyone to dry their hands on. Good job it was sunny and I allowed my hands to air dry!

My Breakfast was very good and the ingredients were of high quality, my wife had the omelette with salad which was also good, the milkshakes could do with improving as you just get a glass of milk with a splash of Crusha (nothing special) quite overpriced and I must point out that the sign on the wall is very misleading as it says Milkshake with Ice cream.....£2.55 above that it says "Full Monty"....£2.80 well you've guessed it the ice cream is not in the £2.55 drink but that's not what the sign indicates! Wasps were a big problem on our visit, I realise there's not a lot they can do about these pests outside but we were eating inside and were plagued with them and in fact killed five during our meal! The homemade scones and cakes looked nice but we didn't try them on this occasion, so a bit of a mixed review really hence my average rating.

Stopped by for morning coffee and a piece of cake with our 5 and 2 year olds. We were made very welcome and throughly enjoyed our drinks and cake overlooking the canal and boatyard. We didn't have any cooked food but full-English breakfasts looked grand. There is lots of good wandering around here and the Waterside is a genre at place to stop for a break. Enjoy!

Lovely location for a relaxing lunch during nice summer weather. Even if the weather is not too good there is an undercover seating area. Plenty of choice for sandwiches, jacket potatoes etc plus hot food. The home-made cakes always look very tempting!

The coffee is lovely, the people on the marina are friendly. The food is delicious. You can sit inside or outside. It is not disabled friendly and the walk to the cafe involves steps and a narrow path by the canal.

We recently visited the Waterside Café with a group of friends as an unusual way of celebrating a couple of the girls' birthdays and we loved it. Not only was the food great the staff were really friendly and helpful too!

Having read all the gushing reviews I really must contradict. Today, Saturday May 2nd, we arrived at 9:15am. The place had 2 punters inside and 2 outside. We were blanked by the staff on arrival. After about 10 minutes of trying to catch someone's eye, to order, someone else came in and was asked, from the kitchen if he wanted his usual. He did. Then someone else came in and ordered ! Still no eye contact. We left. Is this the pinnacle of British hospitality? I think not. Do we have to be on first name terms to get food ? The Venetian Marina, not far away is friendly and cheaper.

After a beautiful walk along the Shropshire Union Canal we took the opportunity of having a bite to eat in the Waterside Café, and we weren't disappointed! The menu offers everything you would need from a café and more, we were even surprised to see the breakfast being served past breakfast time, which is just what we opted for. Great service and a daily paper rounded off a nice morning.

Delicious brunch - the bread they use for their toast just melts in your mouth. Lovely sunny aspect, chilled background music and really great service.

We used to live in Weaverham and often walked to the Riverside for a drink or food. They used to do 2 main courses for £10 which was good values for money. I know those days are now gone but after our recent visit I don’t think we will be returning. We booked a table for Sunday lunch for 4 people. We ordered drinks which came promptly and then ordered our food. We only ordered 4 mains, fish and chips, sea bass and 2 x steak and ale pies. We waited over an hour for our food, others who arrived after us received their food so we asked how long ours was going to take and were told they were just plating up. 10 minutes later we finally received our food. The fish and chips did look lovely and was a healthy portion size, the pies were well filled but mash potato was a bit on the small side. The main issue was the sea bass. There were 2 small fillets with a few crushed potatoes underneath, a spoonful of frozen peas, 2 green beans and 5 mange tout. Now for £17.95 I expected more. I’m not a big eater or a quick eater but I finished my meal first, and I knew I wouldn’t be full for long. How much do vegetables cost? Surely some carrots and tender stem broccoli wouldn’t break the budget? I did mention this and I was not charged for my alcohol free G&T, but I couldn’t wait to get home and have something to eat, disappointing.

We held a joint 60/80 party here and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff are brilliant and extremely helpful from all correspondence to the night. We had about 30 ppl for a small do and they were brilliant letting us come earlier even though half of our party did end up staying to the late! The food was exceptional the steak ale pie was devine and had our guests talking about it for weeks after! Compliments to the chef! Lovely party area, when decorated with balloons and banners it was a really good atmosphere, the bar were happy to play music on Spotify all night. Really spacious and just a really lovely evening. Great hospitality. Deffo worth considering for a function.

Attended here with friends for an evening meal as part of a group of 11 and the service by Niall was outstanding. We had the evening meal and breakfast package from the premier inn next door and very good value for money!

Called in for a quick pint on my first visit to Macclesfield. Was early, so quiet, with only one local. Looks like they have a varied selection of beers. I opted for a German lager. Nice friendly publican who said he has been there for 40 years. Close to train station.
