The café is in a great location and looks lovely. Visted Saturday 17 August 2024. However, the service from the woman behind the counter was awful and should work in a doctors surgery. At 8.45 we were informed they open at 9.00. returned at 9.15 to have drinks and breakfast. Told food orders start at 9.30. Places order for drinks and then had to queue up again at 9.15 for breakfast. Two scrambled egggs on toast. The food was delivered to our table, cheap white bread you would only feed to the birds and the scrambles egg with the bread on the side. Coffee ok but the tea was a tea bag in a cup. No Tea Pot. Will not visiting the place again.

Very nice cafe by the river, but they didn't particularly shine today . The food was very bland. The ham and cheese toast came with 1 slice of cucumber, 1 strip of red pepper and some lettuce as "side salad". Mediocre product for nearly 10£. They were very short staffed and Blaise. Tables are left unkempt and not cleaned regularly so you have to eat around other people's leftovers. There is no toilet or running water nearby so you can't wash your hands or stop. This is not the standard I'm expecting from Little Venice. I would recommend a takeaway somewhere else and a stroll elsewhere. Only stop if absolutely knackered.

River side horror: Well where do I start, words sometimes fail me but with my gcse in English I will try best to depict the situation that enfolded. Entering the humble abode, I stepped upon the wooden cabin and felt delight at being on a river to eat as that is something I have never experienced before. After glancing at the what I call menu, I approached the counter to order what I wanted to eat along with what my companions wanted to eat and also what we wanted to drink. Looking across, the waitress was slumped over the till, and became baffled when I asked if I could please order some food. After eventually getting through, I ordered and took my place at a slimy wooden table and sat on a chair. So did the food arrived eventually and when slapped down onto the table my dear words failed me. Dry dry tuna with no mayonnaise was plonked on top of a jacket potato so small indeed do I require a magnifying glass to see it. The tuna were so dry my throat was choking as I scrambled to get rid of it. The beans of my daughter were so cold and slimy that her young stomach began to wobble. Could this get any worse my mind rang well I tragically had to pay £40 for this comical dining experience. Furthermore, was I just further disturbed by the bitter waitress who remained in front of me blocking my view of the river, and jerking Lipton tea bottles asymmetrically onto the fridge. I thought dear weren’t you raised in the etiquette of lining your bottles in a neat row? But I did hold back as you never know one’s circumstances. But this is the moment I was tipped over the edge, the dry tuna had got me down but I went further with what I saw. She shoved some water bottles onto the shelve and then flung the bag of the water bottles that remained unbruised onto the floor in the middle of the boat leaving what I call a clear and severely dangerous potentially hazard to me and the rest of what most call the general public. I applaud all that go, if you fancy choking on tuna on the riverside surrounded by folks of misery this is for you my dear. P.S there was no toilet to be found

I can only give 1 star for the location. Everything else, i’m sorry but it’s a 0 from me. Atmosphere was stiff when we came in, employees who were giving “i’m here serving my punishment” vibe, no music in the background to soften the fall.. a couple sat at the table across from ours got their breakfast with a 20 minute difference- the latter breakfast being TOST AND BUTTER, do you really need 20 minutes to make that?? When we finally realised it’s a semi-self service thing, at the register we hear a person, trying to order coffee and that toast, being told they will wait for 40 minutes on that… we decided to drop it altogether. There was 4 employees present at the moment, which we could see, at about half the capacity of the cafe. HARD PASS from us this time and in the future.

My experience here was less than positive but perhaps it was a one off and not representative of normal practice. I'm unable to comment on the food but this is rather about the staff. Having checked Google for a place to have breakfast we found this cafe and made our way on a dreary Sunday morning as it advertised opening at 9am. We bimbled past at about 8.45 just as two members of staff were opening up the doors. We carried on for a walk and got back around 9.15. Chairs and tables were out. Display board out and neon Cafe sign was illuminated and door open. Before we were able to step on board the staff member behind the counter just looked up and announced that they were 'not open yet'. A little confused I queried when they would and was told 'about 40 minutes'! No explanation/apology was offered so we simply left. I'm sure another day, another time the welcome may be different but who knows.

This ought to be a winner, what with the location and all, and at first sight things are fairly promising because the boat itself is well turned out. How first impressions can deceive ! The surly 'no eye contact if I can help it' and 'I'd die rather than smile' single server seemed to resent out actually being there and amply communicated a total lack of interest with a weird sense of glee at telling us what is not available. Eventually, and at a very high price, we got a ploughman's platter made with the sort of baguette one buys as a multi-pack in the supermarket and are meant to bake at home. These were not cooked. The salad (small tin of tuna on some letticue) was eleven pounds. The positive reviews for this place are suspiciously 'cookie cutter' and without specific details - whilst the negative ones seem to have been written by people who have actually endured this experience.

Lovely English breakfast upon the barge. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended. Please please don't take this as a criticism, the staff were too busy to speak to as we left but to point out the menu never mentioned mushrooms on the breakfast dish, so I assumed the breakfast didn't include them. I am allergic and would have asked not to have had them on my plate as I requested no butter on my toast which you happily obliged. Unfortunately its like a nut allergy but isn't recognised in the allergen list but can be as fatal as nut allergy. My advice would be to advertise them on your menu for future guests. I hope to return one day as it didn't spoil our experience and your not the first place this has happened to me. Not complaining just highlighting my personal problem

Immediately I thought I must have been seeing things and just had the tea which was a tea bag thrown into a large cup. Not long after there was a large bang and one of the tables had fallen right over spilling hot tea on the gentleman at the side of me. The noise was so loud but the staff didnt move. I ran to help, but had to wait when asked for some kitchen roll. Poor service, it just felt like they didnt want to be there. As I left looked at the menu outside. A floating cafe in a lovely setting but unfortunately it goes downhill from there. We'd visited in 2022 and had enjoyed a lovely lunch but not this time. We were given a cup of hot water with a teabag in, and even after 4/5 minutes still tasted like sugared water. I ordered Tuna Melt and unfortunately it was just a dry dollop of tuna out of a tin with a lump of cheese in it....I had to finish preparing it myself by adding mayonnaise. The accompanying salad was so dry I thought the cucumber was a biscuit (my wife had to use salad dressing on hers too). My neice had a Caeser Salad and was again just ingredients thrown in without any preparation or dressing. The staff were nice but quite clearly something needs sorting out here. Next time I'll get a takeaway from a workman's cafe and find a riverside bench.

We took a short ride on the tube from Paddington to get to Little Venice just to eat at the Waterside Cafe. It’s just a five minutes walk from the station to the canal. The cafe is adorable. The day was sunny, calm, and warmish so the boat was completely still. There is outside seating but we went for the experience of eating inside a longboat. If you like paninis these are good. They’re not fancy but the bread is perfect which is what makes or breaks a panini in my opinion. It was VERY warm inside, and it was springtime when I was there. I don’t know if they use a cooler in the summer, if not it might be sweltering in high heat weather. We loved seeing all the photos of the boat’s history, and watching the birds and canal activity through the windows. The only reason I kept this review at 4 🌟 is that the lady running the place wasn’t super friendly or informative. But we are glad we went!

Additionally, I was surprised by the high prices - £9 for an egg roll seemed excessive. The coffee was also not up to par, with a better taste from instant Nescafe. I would recommend looking up the road, as there are several nicer places like Wagamama, Starbucks, and others just a 5-minute walk away. Overall, I was disappointed as the cafe had potential but falls short in its current state, earning it a one star rating or less

Beautiful space on the canal! If the weather is fair, it's idyllic. Service seemed understaffed and you can only order at the counter, so wasn't very fast. Few gluten free or dairy free options, and cross contamination is unavoidable here. No toilet, unfortunately! Nice spot on a walk or before a boat tour.

First time being on a boat cafe and I really enjoyed it. Easily the tastiest blueberry muffin I have ever had and from what I heard from other people, the other homemade cakes were delicious aswell. Great location and would definitely go to again.
