The Volunteer in City of London, Westminster

Quite a nice location, right by Sherlock Holmes’ the famous Baker Street 221B. I went in as it was buzzing and filled to the brim. Shannon was quite welcoming and very nice that she accommodated me with a table for one - yeah I was traveling alone. Authentic Brit pub food, drinks and vibe. All in all a good evening. I would love to go for a Sunday roast if time permits.

I loved the fish and chips! The waitress Lil was very nice and considerate 10/10.

Popped in here on a Sunday, worst roast of my life in an otherwise cute pub. The bar was clearly understaffed but one of the waitresses was really terrible. Everyone has bad days and sometimes it happens but she was actively rude, literally rolled her eyes at us and ignored us multiple times. The nut roast itself was delicious but it came with literally three tiny potatoes and the Yorkshire pudding was the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. Otherwise nice ambiance in the pub.

Went here for lunch and a drink while on holidays. The food was fast and excellent, great pricing for the size. Staff were attentive and kind. The place was clean and had a really welcoming vibe. Would definitely recommend if youre after a pub lunch.

I happened to stop by on my way to see the Sherlock Holmes Museum, and it was the most delicious food I had in England. Be sure to drink beer too!

This a gem of a pub in London. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to recommend a drink or chat about the menu. The food is classic pub fare done right. Highly recommended!

Had a lovely time here! Service was served with a smile by a staff member called Shannon, made sure I was okay and made the experience all the more joyful.

I went to this place with my partner to have a drink, when we arrived it was hard to be able to speak with someone, I asked if we can sit wherever we want, the waitress was exasperated, and asked us if it was just for drinking and we could take a small table. On the menu it’s indicated that you have to scan a QR code to order but the choice of beer was different than on the menu. I went to the bar to asked how can I order, the waitress just ignored me then seems surprised when I talked about the QR code and just ask me what I want and hand me the payment terminal (without asking me how I’ll pay or announcing the price) So I pay and she put the beer on the bar and leave (no more words from this waitress) We’ve felt so unwelcome, I don’t know if it’s because we’re not English or something else.. the place was half empty but no one talked to us (we do speak English fluently). We weren’t able to test the food because their behavior cut our appetite

Excellent service and delicious food! Everything we got was amazing, which included the Scotch egg, steak and ale pie with mash and cabbage/peas, whole sourdough loaf with butter, and truffle fries. Our server was Sarah and she was wonderful. She made the experience very enjoyable. Thanks Sarah!

The Girls on the Bar attended promptly to our order and make sure we had enough drinks. The atmosphere was lively, would recommend for good night out in Baker Street .

As we were in London only for a few days, we were looking for a couple of traditional English dishes. We asked the waitress to make a couple of changes out of the menu and she made it happen with the kitchen staff. Sarah the Ozzy waitress was kind and professional. Loved her accent! We will be back next time in London. Recommend this place 🙌

Great restaurant with a wonderful pub atmosphere. Very comfortable and cozy. We split the steak and beef shin pie, sour dough bread and had a couple of ales. Everything was delicious. Our server Sarah was great. Highly recommend.

I booked drinks for 20 friends on Saturday night and the volunteer staff were amazing catering to all of us and allocating some tables in a great area of the pub. We all had such a lovely time and I think we would all reccomended the great service and customer care at the volunteer !

Wonderful Service from very good Personal . They are using time for talk a little bit with the guests. It have also international Visitors. It have much younger people there. I had much service from Sarah and Nicola. They help me with the Menu card and at the much various of beer. I like this pub. Greetings from Germany

The place is very clean and cosy. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. The beer was perfect. A special thanks to Laís and her unrivalled service, she is very helpful, attentive to detail, gave us all the information we needed and made us feel at home. I want to come back more often! 100/10.

He was incredibly attentive, ensuring our drinks and meals were perfect, and his friendly demeanor made us feel so welcome. Vince went above and beyond to make our visit special. We truly hope he will be there next time we visit—he's a fantastic asset to the team!

Our waitress (Sarah) was nice, fast and accurate. The food and the beer was really nice.

The Volunteer is right by Regents Park, and it has a great atmosphere. We enjoyed a lovely lunch of burgers and chips. Laís was our server and she was very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend it!

Nice stop off for a drink and snacks, service staff very friendly and accommodating especially to my 7 year son who demolished a chocolate brownie! Thanks to Nicola and Dani for looking after us…don’t live in this part of London but would definitely go back if I’m in the area. Only negative was no seasoning in the guacamole for the nachos.

This place is delicious. I had the steak shin and pale ale pie and my husband ordered their chicken and bacon burger with Scottish eggs. Also I had the truffle fries thay they were perfect !

Lovely experience, food was great. We were greeted properly and shown to our table by Lais. She looked after all and was in control of all tables. Nothing was too much trouble.

The place itself is ok, the food is acceptable but nothing impressive… When it came to paying the bill it kinda started looking like a Scam. I received the bill, which I thought was high, nontheless I paid it, hoping to have a look afterwards at it, to figure out why it was so high. That was not possible as the waitress took the bill with her, without leaving me any chance to check what I was charged for. Anyway a bad experience and certainly I am not coming back…. I suggest You start showing the prices for beers, as customers are misled into ordering something without having any idea about the price.

Nicola and Mara was so service minded and we are very happy with our stay! Our food was great, chicken schnitzel and of course the cold beer. It was a super busy evening at the pub but we got the best personal service! I highly recommend a visit!

We stopped by The Volunteer for a quick meal, but we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The atmosphere of the pub is warm and inviting. Our waitress, Lais, was kind and attentive. She made us feel right at home and recommended a delicious pudding. What started as a quick stop turned into a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend this pub for both the great food and the wonderful service.

Excellent family dinner experience, traditional pub and typical, tasty and plentiful dishes. The dining room staff is very kind, compliments to the boy who welcomed us (unfortunately I don't know his name) but he was really professional and helpful.
