Porcupine in City of London, Westminster

Every time I go to London I stop here, on Fridays at 9pm there is live music and I love it.

Recommend this establishment for both eating and drinking, prices are what you would expect for central London, service is great and the atmosphere is good to boot.

Nice atmosphere, Varun was very friendly. Fish & chips a bit too oily but otherwise a nice lunch!

Varun was wonderful! So polite and friendly and we enjoyed a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The meat pies were awesome with a pint of local beer!

Rabbit pie is amazing, service polite, no music tho, mrs’ steak sandwich was a bit chewy. Only thing stopping 5 stars

We called for a drink midday, it's a really old pub with bags of character our second visit over the years. They serve food but we only had drinks, space upstairs with clean loos. Well worth a visit for a pint or 3.

Popped in last night for a drink. There was a fab musician playing the guitar & singing, accepting requests the whole pub was singing along a fab few hours in great company, a great atmosphere with good service. locals & tourists enjoying each others company A fab night! 👍

You would think getting a traditional British meal - a Sunday beef pot roast - in a traditional British pub would be the way to do it, right? You would be wrong. I could make a better pot roast, and I don't cook. The beef was meh, vegetables (I can't believe I'm saying this about a British meal) were undercooked and the Yorkies were hard as a rock.

Was just walking past this pub and a member of staff from this pub (tall, slim and bald) came out and very aggressively threw an e-bike across the street, and then stormed back inside. Totally uncalled for.

Had a lovely evening and great dinner at The Porcupine. Food is great, atmosphere is very good and the staff is your friendly. Extra compliments to the boy that waited our table (13/2/25), he was super helpful and friendly, and worked so hard while there was a big group dining, but still managed to wait all ten other tables with a smile!

During a stroll in this area of ​​London we stopped at this pub to eat fish and chips. Honestly for the reasonable price it's the best I've had the opportunity to eat in London. Typical atmosphere of a London pub Fast and efficient service. All in all, I would happily return if I have the opportunity to return to London

One of the pubs I visit in Leicester square when on town. Nice and quaint warm and friendly.

Abbiamo mangiato in questo pub trovato per caso. Il cibo era abbastanza buono, niente di eccezionale ma nelle aspettative. Prezzi un pò alti per esser un pub ma in fondo eravamo in centro quindi non è stato un grosso problema.

Talia was amazing and made us feel like we are at home. Fantastic service from the her. My wife had the sausage and mash which was her best ever. I had the burger 🍔 and chips which I couldn’t even finish, so tasteful. Amazing place to eat. Highly recommended.

Lovely pub, perfect location for St Martin's Theatre. Food was delicious, service was prompt and unfussy, and we loved the cosy feel of the upstairs dining area. The ladies' toilets could do with some attention, although we appreciate there is not a lot of room for manoeuvre. Sticky toffee pudding the best I've had (apart from my husband's, I feel obliged to say)

You wouldn't expect 2 Indian men behind the bar from a real English pub. Drinks were not brought to the table. For the rest, the place looks like an English pub.

A new visit, after long time. Still a nice pub. I didn't stay long, just had a beer, but I liked the atmosphere. Quite crowded.

A not so large pub in a great location, next to Leicester Sq tube and mid way between the hearts of Soho and Covent Garden. They had four cask beers so I opted for a Timothy Taylor at £6.90. The ground floor is the main bar, it looks very traditional with a lot of wood panelling. Upstairs is a nice, bright restaurant. There is also a small amount of seating outside. This pub is always busy, I was here at 4.30pm on a cold Wednesday night in January and most seating was taken. The food menu is typical pub grub with pies being their speciality. They had a limited selection of around 12 whiskies. I enjoyed my pint here, a nice pub with good service.

Quite disappointing. The rabbit pie and the fish pie were pie in name only. Lots of potatoes and carrots but you have to look for rabbit or salmon. Unsmiling service. And ultimately quite expensive for what it is.

Great pub experience. No rush, no noise, good service, good food and ale. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the view from the window. Would certainly try to come back.

Always love the atmosphere in here, however the tall bald barman was weirdly rude to my friend when he was ordering a drink, to the point that we were getting scared by him. When it was my turn he took one look at me and walked away to talk to other staff members, and made another colleague (Indian) to serve me who was surprised. After I was served he came back to serve other (white)customers, this time a lot nicer to them, wonder why the differential treatment? Very strange behaviour for someone working in hospitality, and the bald barman gave off almost Nazi vibes which was concerning

Luchando contra multitudes todo el día nos topamos con El Puercoespín por casualidad. Tan acogedor como el bar era queríamos una última prueba en Londres, así que subimos escaleras para la cena. Tuvimos un brisket de ternera con papas fritas y cerveza de barril en un par de minutos. Una vez que nuestra cena llegó nos quedamos sorprendidos de lo calientes que estaban nuestros dos platos. Ella un Fish and Chips y yo el Brisket Pie. Ambos estaban llenos. Personal amable y eficiente estamos contentos de haber encontrado este lugar, incluso si por accidente!

nice pub however the staff are extremely rude, telling people to move their belongings not even asking just saying move it and giving dirty looks, would not go here if you want to feel comfortable

The food and service quality were outstanding. The staff were highly attentive to the needs of the customers, proactively asking about and being prepared to accommodate any allergies or intolerances. We have absolutely nothing to complain about regarding our experience.

Great place for food and drinks. We booked a table for ourselves, which requires 10 quid a head. I'd recommend booking online, much easier process. And the deposit comes off of the final bill. The food was excellent, and the staff were really helpful and accommodating. Perfect for date night, haha. Highly recommend. The only problem was quite a few items out of stock. But other than that, it's a great pub.

Varun was a fantastic host. He was our server and barman and was a perfect gentleman. Great drinks. Decent food - though the Sunday Roast was a HUGE disappointment (overcooked, tough, and stingy). Except for that, it was a lovely Sunday dinner at the Porcupine

Booked for dinner Christmas Eve for 11. Easy accommodated and attentive staff. Would recommend highly for a great pub meal.

Today we had a wonderful dinning experience at The Porcupine and the service was just exceptional! Our waiter truly went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. From the moment we sat down, he greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel welcomed. The combination of delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, and outstanding service made for a fantastic evening. I highly recommend The Porcupine (Nicholson’s pub) and will definitely be returning!

This venue has a lively pub atmosphere on the ground level, while the upper level offers a calmer dining room. We were in search of a peaceful spot and chose the upper level. The lower level was quite crowded, and it was challenging to find a seat. However, we had a lovely evening in the upper area. The food was delicious and satisfying in terms of variety.
