Waterside Cafe in Erewash

I have been here over the last few weeks many times for breakfast and lunch, the full English breakfast is lovely and really good pice, today we went for lunch, Angie who cooked the food was lovely, so friendly with a big smile, the food she cooked was lovely as always, very quick service and the chips were amazing! Ella the waitress was so attentive, nothing was too much trouble, she was polite, helpful and checked on us to make sure we were enjoying the food… I have read some of the reviews on here and I do not understand why people have posted such bad comments, everywhere is clean, excellent food, excellent service, free parking, inside and outside seating, amazing views of the marina and the food is really good prices. Lovely service from Angie and Ella - so so friendly and loved the food! Will be coming back again, perfect place to come for lunch and can’t wait to come back! Such a lovely atmosphere and a really nice place to spend a day off!! Highly recommend - so worth a visit!

I came in today glad to see the drug dealer junkie is not there anymore it’s just a shame his mother is still there with her dirty clothes and her being rude to the customers I for one and other members of the boating residents will not be back something needs to be done now get in new ppl that can run it and not drag it down the 4 girls working today did great shame on Avesta for letting this happen

I have now been in twice but I will not go again until the owners leave which is a shame as it was a lovely place under the people before first time I came in with my family 7 of us the owner they call Kai was asleep on the sofa the 2 young ladies working was very busy and apologetic for the wait which was fine one of them was doing the food which was very nice the 2rd time I came in with my work for a meal for lunch the lady cooking was the owners mum she was very dirty and it looked like she had mud under her nails and she handles food she was very rude to customers we will not return until there is new management I feel sorry for the staff I have reported this to the food hygiene people

Went jfor cofee very dissatisfied second time been no improvement had a latta coffee it was just like a cup of hot milk don't know what happened to the coffee last time for me

We'd planned a walk down the Erewash Canal and the left at Trent Lock along the Trent. The river had a different idea. The path along the river from Trent Lock was completely under water. So, we headed right instead towards Sawley Lock and Marina. The Waterside Cafe was open for takeaways and we have lattes and a delicious Apple and Toffee cake each. It was really good. Whether we'd walked enough to use all those calories we'll see in the morning!

It's a good place to aim for when walking along the River Trent and canals in the area. We'd come from Long Eaton and enjoyed a coffee this time. We have had cakes too previously which were good. They're doing a takeaway menu at the moment and are open 7 days a week.
