Waterloo Sunset Cafe in Sefton

Checked website for opening times….9am. One of the group called in the day before to see if we needed to book, no requirement. Turned up the next day, one of the group having travelled for over an hour. A gentleman was inside, but the door was locked. No opening times on the “opening times” sign. We stood outside for about 10 minutes, thinking maybe they d open at 10, or at least open the door & let us know, nope, nothing. So we went to the lakeside coffee shop in Crosby marina. Lovely breakfast. Places like this don’t deserve custom

Most unwelcoming lady I've come across in a long time. Ordered 2 flat white coffees and a piece of cake. Coffees were awful, never seen Flat whites anything like them before, so left without finishing . Significant that you pay before receiving order.

Friendly staff, great choice of snacks & treats. We had amazing scrambled eggs & a tuna melt & were really impressed. Great location for visiting Another Place. Car park nearby too. Also a great place to walk your dog.

The staff in here , particularly the guy behind the counter were really friendly and helpful , we only had cake and tea but it was very nice ,the cafe is nicely decorated and looked clean , so it's a real shame the toilets let it down a bit , they really need a revamp as they are scruffy and tatty and really weren't very clean , I imagine during peak season it's difficult to keep them clean all the time but it's a lot quieter in rainy cold march so I didn't expect them to be like that , but the cafe and staff are nice so worth a visit

I don’t normally believe in negative views but on this occasion felt it necessary to forward families out for a treat We have been here before and enjoyed it but this visit was not great Coffee very weak Mince pies looked like they had come out of a supermarket box which is fine but at £2,95 each is not acceptable Also the children wanted cake but the tiny fairy cakes again looked like from supermarket but iced and 100s and 1000s put on top were also £2.95 each I know there are overheads but this is extortion. How can a family go out for a treat after walking on the beach Not surprised the place only had a few people in Will not be returning

Popped in for lunch after a walk on the beach and had some really nice food. A decent menu of lunch style dishes, nothing too heavy (although cake is available to follow!), we settled for toasted BLT's which were tasty and just the right amount for lunch. The coffee was good too. All served in really nice, very clean surroundings by friendly waiting staff. Highly recommended for a light bite to eat.
