Watergate Yard in North Kesteven

First time we have been to Watergate Yard. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was really nice and the atmosphere was really good. Definitely will visit again

Came here for a first date wanted something a bit different, can't fault the place really the staff were really friendly and helpful the whole place was clean and looked after and the food was faultless we both really enjoyed our time here would highly recommend

Lovely hotel to stay in. Really central and the food is fantastic! Best rack of ribs I've ever had - and I've had a few! Quirky decoration in the bedrooms aswell - different to other standard hotels

The service was absolutely shocking. Due to the place being ‘busy’ my friend and I were unable to order our meals for us each and our partners, together. We asked for some sides first and mains after. The food was brought out in a random order, and 20 minutes apart meaning that we couldn’t eat together. The service was appalling throughout the evening. Like something out of Fawlty Towers. When made aware, the manager took almost a week to respond to my feedback. £6 for a point of bang average beer in Sleaford is daylight robbery. Go to The Solo or Tablez, much better. They know how to run a bar / restaurant properly.

Had a works leaving do here and it was brilliant with a brilliant vibe. The food was excellent , ad was the service in getting all of us fed so quickly and easily. Thoroughly recommend you try it, whether as a group or a small table. We sat outside and it’s so much fun.

We stayed for dinner and overnight. Owners and all the staff were lovely. Great room, amazing breakfast and a lovely outdoor area with music and a wonderful decor. A bit of a treasure in Sleaford. Dinner in the evening was great, good choice of beers too. All in all a great stay!

Booked the restaurant for a surprise 40th birthday party, such an easy booking experience with Hollie arranging the hire, the food and sorting out the decorations. We had the pizza buffet which went down a treat! We love it at the Watergate, all of our friends and family loved it, the music, the decor and the vibe is all 5 star. Thank you so much.

Amazing food, fabulous ambience and very vibey experience. Loved the eclectic quirky decor and how welcomed you feel as soon as you arrive. Just wished we had found this at the start of our holiday, rather than the end. Little tip - the portions are very large!

Stopped in on the way to Yorkshire. Great food and quirky interior. The garden is a delight and lots of parasols. The macaroni cheese is one of the best I’ve had out, and everything was delicious. Would stop by again if passing!

I can say we booked for a meal just me and my partner and were really happy with the atmosphere and the food was above expectations thank you for a lovely evening we had the burgers and were absolutely stuffed great prices for the portions and weren’t bugged whilst eating but were asked if we were ok and if the food was alright and if we needed anymore drinks, really lovely service and food cooked to perfection, the outside dining was comfortable and quirky Thank you again We aren’t from the area we were visiting family and your restaurant was recommended I’m glad we booked and had a really good experience

Quirky place for drinks but food was very poor. The burrito was a wrap of white rice with some salad out of a bag, no dressing. Sorry I’d not recommend this place for food.

We had lunch here. The food was average. Service was good. We’d booked a table inside, due to unpredictable weather, so we’re surprised to find that our table was outside 🤔. Fortunately, it was almost empty, so we were able to choose an alternative table inside.

Hands down best place in Sleaford for food and drinks. Great selection of Gin and decent Lagers, not just the standard Fosters etc you see in most pubs. I’ve visited watergate a few times in the past as we live nearby but I’ve only ever had drinks and a couple small plates before. We had family visiting and fancied something a little bit nice for food and so I booked here after checking the menu and reviews. I’m vegetarian and I’m used to only having a couple options on the menu to choose from, especially at the moment when most places have very reduced menus. There was almost too much choice for me here!! I wish I could have ordered and tried every veggie option there was to offer! The rest of the group ordered enough small plates for a small army and I chose the halloumi burger. Everything was absolutely amazing and we had no complaints at all. The staff were lovely and checked on us a few times throughout our stay to make sure we had drinks and if the food was ok for us. It costs a little more than your average pub to eat here, but that’s because it’s just so damn good! Worth every penny. The building and outside look absolutely amazing too, especially now the outside is covered. You can tell the owners really love the place. 100% will be coming back :)

Totally amazing food with excellent waitress service. The Very attentive staff and the spectacular setting, makes this one of my most favourite places to eat in Sleaford. The food was to die for! The steak was succulent and cooked perfectly, the BBQ burger was outstanding and super tasty, the burrito was enormous and the flavour was truly awesome, finally the small plates, chicken strips, halloumi fries and small chipped potatoes with a cheese fondue sauce, was out of this world. Thank you to everyone in the watergate for a brilliant experience guys.

Watergate yard is my favourite place to eat in town the food is phenomenal and they do food that no other palce in town does. My partner about a month AGO and i had the sharer's break fast and and it came with pancakes as well .It was food heaven.The atmosphere in there is fantastic the staff are very attentive and service is top notch :) Ryan and Hollie are wonderful warm and caring sociable people and they make you feel very welcome . i went in there yesterday 26 /8/20 and ad steak and chips followed by a yard sundae .i was having a bad day and the food and staff and atmosphere really cheereed me up .The Blankeys have worked so hard to make this wonderful gem that itis well done everyone :) and they use local produce as well which is fab :) Ryan and Holly won a Best business award 2019 with the sleaford town awards and well deserved guys .

We visited as a family of 4 with 2 small children. The food was great and even though there was no children’s menu the children enjoyed sharing the pancakes with bacon and syrup. We also ordered the burrito with chicken (delicious and a massive portion) and the burger (which my husband very much enjoyed). It was quite busy due the the 50% off deal, but service was very good, waiting staff friendly and everything very COVID friendly too. We were visiting whilst on holiday so it was a great find for us and I would definitely recommend.

This place never disappoints,we visited Wednesday evening it was so busy but still efficient and top notch food well done all! It’s beginning to be our regular pub we love the interior and the lovely little court yard keep up the good work watergate yard.

Change your chef, don’t brag that he has 45years experience. I wanted to leave this place feeling full and having enjoyed some time with the family but it wasn’t meant to happen. I will say this, I’ve read all the reviews on this and other sites so I’m gonna put this down to the kitchen having a really bad service like if 2020 was a service they just had it. 2pm reservation couple of tables eating food. You think “perfect lunch rush is over” We ordered 3 burgers, 1 mac n cheese, 1 chicken burger & 1 buddha bowl with Halloumi.We asked the waitress how the burgers are cooked as we would like them medium. Her reply was all of the burgers are cooked medium. Result bring on the food.Drinks arrived and the conversation flowed (great catching up with the family) The enjoyment level at this point went rapidly down. Our food arrived in the strangest order (food arrived we didn’t even order) We waited on the halloumi buddha bowl and a burger with sweet potato fries, a good 5mins after the first plate of food arrived (guessing kitchen management wasn’t at its strongest)Finally all food arrived. And so did the first problem the halloumi was chicken (didn’t go down well) but it also makes you question how it left the kitchen? This was sent back for the correct dish to arrive later on.Burgers, remember we asked how they came on ordering.......well they all arrived well done (tough and tasteless) called the waitress over, the one who took our order only to be told that the kitchen often do this. Do what????? Mess the orders up, can’t read the ticket...... doesn’t know how to use a probe. I was game over by my second bite. (See photos. Top photo Is the chicken in the chicken burger)My father in-law is a very polite guy and just pushed his plate back. Again it makes you question the kitchen. Do they look at the food when it came out the fryer?? Did they struggle to get the probe in........no wait they don’t have a probe that’s why we got over cooked burgers and chicken.We would have had better burgers at McDonalds or Burger King ( that is a tough thing to write) I wasn’t asking for a Holborn Dinning Room Burger but I was asking for a burger to be cooked the way I asked and for it to look like it does on all the photos. I’m sure the kitchen will bounce back from this but this family of 6 won’t be returning WAIT............ you have a 5 food hygiene rating so you would have multiple probes...............

Amazing afternoon / evening with friends in this fantastic place! Beautiful food & loads of choice. The drinks menu covered everything from gin, cocktails, specialities, beers, pretty much anything you wanted at a reasonable price. The measures in place to keep us safe were very well done. There was a 1 way system around the bar, sanitiser points, adequate space between tables & all the staff were super helpful. Will definitely be back & highly recommended!!

I visited with my family for a birthday meal. All covid procedures were in place with hand sanitiser and all staff wearing face masks. All table service and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. 8 of us ordered food and within 20 minutes our food was with us. All hot & delicious. A perfect visit and will definitely return
