Waterfields always good for food pies, sandwiches, cakes etc., it is just in the wrong spot outside of the village area and no where to park. It's a shame because I think it loses loads of business by not being actually in the village.

This was a meeting for myself and a friend from school, 40 years ago. She lives in Leeds and was on her way to Liverpool for a family event and I live in Bolton. I booked online as The Plough is close to M62. We both received a lovely welcome. The menu is excellent with plenty of choice. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. The prices are competitive. I would highly recommend.

If you're looking for a good meal in a family friendly pub this place is perfect. Lot's of parking, good food, nice place. If you're on the M6 this is very easy to find and better than stopping at services.

Good atmosphere for people of all ages enjoying a night out. A nice pint and good selection of drinks at a price better than expected. Thank you 😊

This was our chosen venue for lunch last Tuesday on a 38 mile cycle. Not been before but it was easy to find on a safe quiet cycle in and in lovely grounds. The cafe was very nice in what might have been the stables. Although we were a little earlier than expected for lunch we took a look inside and were immediately persuaded to have that early lunch. The wide range of savoury goods looked so good as did the cakes and tray bakes. We placed our order and took our seats in a very spacious indoor dining area. There was also lots of outdoor tables and seating. The eating area was clean and well looked after by a number of young adults. Staff were polite, friendly and provided an efficient service. When our food arrived we were not disappointed at all, it was fabulous. The dining area is dog friendly and absolutely not an issue but our visit was during half term and a party of extremely noisy babies and children did spoil our other wise great visit. Parents turning a deaf ear to the disruption. An obvious regular customer on the table next to us who clearly visited for coffee and a read did not stay……. This is absolutely not a reflection of the Heritage cafe or its staff we would highly recommend this place but would choose our visiting time better. We will most definitely be back (during term time 😬)
