Expensive, staff can't get orders right, no understandy English some of them, and waited over 20 minutes for my drink to arrive and they think a few cartons of popcorn will keep you buying their Expensive drinks 🤷.

Always love this place, fantastic atmosphere with excellent music.

We booked here for our Christmas party for 25 people on Saturday and when we arrived, we were given a booth for around 6 people, and when I asked where the rest of our party were supposed to go, they said they were trying to clear booths for us, but customers wouldn't leave. I sympathise with this however absolutely no efforts were made to remove other customers from our booths, so we were left with the single small booth, as compensation we were given a warm bottle of prosecco served with the cork still in, which resulted in a very drunk patron grabbing it, shaking it and opening it all over the booth. At 12:50 the house lights went on and everyone was kicked out. Appalling experience will not be returning.

Nice to have the comparison, been here on a Friday evening and a saturday evening. Have to say quiet on the Friday. But service is certainly not an issue, very little waiting time to get a drink. Plenty of seating as well. Overall the 3 stars purely reflect the atmosphere, but very little the venue can do about that I understand. But a good evening overall

Went on Saturday afternoon and only ones in there. We got 2 cocktails on the 2 for £12 menu and they made our friend a mock tail version of ours - we were all pleased

Make sure you get what you pay for as bar staff where not available for private function even though this was part of the booking. Complaint made but manager couldn't be bothered. Wasn't a cheap venue (£100)so very disappointed. Wouldn't recommend it

1st time there and i have to say it was awesome, good vibes all round.

Went with a large group so seating not ideal but staff really friendly, would be great for small groups or couples.

We’ve just had a surprise party in the vault area here. We all had a fantastic night and really enjoyed our night. The buffet was lovely, and so was the room. Most of all the staff are so friendly, and helpful! Especially Chloe, she was brilliant with everything. Nothing was too much to ask! Thank you so much to Chloe all the staff, we had the best night!

We visited here for a joint hen do and works leaving do. We booked in for the bottomless afternoon tea and it was amazing from start to end. There was so much delicious food to enjoy: sandwiches, pies, quiche, croissants, cakes and, of course, scones with jam and clotted cream. Our glasses were never empty, being regularly topped up with prosecco by the attentive, friendly and professional team. We stayed in the bar for cocktails following the afternoon tea and these were also delicious (and strong) and good value. I would highly recommend.

Booked a booth for me and my sisters and I cannot recommend it high enough ...cocktails were delicious and so was our food .. the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us especially chloe who went out of her way to order us a taxi home .cant wait to visit again.

Extremely DARK in the small function room. The music is also played in the toilets when you have to go!! , IT'S LOUDER IN THE TOILETS THAN THE DANCE FLOOR?...

It's ok. But could do with a right good clean you come out feeling dirtier than when you went in.

The liveliest place in town after the Parr hall empties out at the end of a show in Friday night. They probably should collaborate with the Parr hall and advertise some kind of insentive. Anyway, that's up to them. D.J , music drinks, what more do you want? But people, especially after Covid 19, businesses need to help each other out. Great night.👍

Had my father's wake at the institution in the vault area, cannot fault the place, the buffet was generous with a excellent selection to choose from, and the staff were very accommodating and professional 10/10.

Just ordered a Cheeseburger with a fried chicken "fillet" on from just eat, Almost certain it was a frozen burger from Iceland, and a frozen chicken fillet. Both dry, had better from a burger van. And there was 1 slice of thin American cheese on it. Was expecting a gourmet burger considering it came to 14.50 with some chips. I'm not from round here, so I'm unsure if people from Cheshire pay a premium to live like common people? "The council estate tea experience" they should call it. Shame because the marketing is good, but then they clearly have no idea how to cook, or they're just lazy. Go to a local butchers and get some proper meat, and cook it fresh, not from frozen. Shameful

Enjoyed some really good drinks and a really nice setting. Reasonable prices too. The music was very loud and we struggled to hear each other. The type of music, the type of DJ and the volume didn’t really match the style of the bar though. The DJ and volume seemed more suited to a 30th birthday party at a local function room than a lovely bar like this!

Perfect choice for our takeaway. We wanted something restaurant like as we worked all weekend and this didn’t disappoint! The burgers were huge! And delicious. The portion of chips is generous and did us both. Wouldn’t mind more of their food in the future!

Our favourite Cocktail bar in Warrington. This is one of our usual spots. Exceptional service, exceptional staff and a very clean venue. We went to their last Supper Club and was blown away by the food by David Crichton.

Started out fantastic, service was good and really polite. Seated to our booth as soon as COVID check-in done. Advised of a wait on cocktails due to demand at the time, we were okay with this. Only slight service snag was wait time for 2nd & 3rd round of drinks, at which one point a guy served us saying he was the manager. Whilst waiting for our 3rd round we were asked to "drink up" as next table was due to arrive. Not reminded of length of booking when we arrived, and when we were asked to drink up we were told the booth next to us was free for the next 15 mins, however a group was shown to the table almost immediately after us being told we could finish our drinks in this booth. When we challenged this at the door we were offered a weak apology and told the guy who had served us claiming he was the manager, had in fact been fired that night. None of that had anything to do with us, and we were again offered a weak apology. Overall drink service was incredibly slow even though there were a good number of staff visibly working. Issue wasn't with being asked to drink up, but with the way the guy asked us to, especially given we had just ordered another round of drinks that had to be cancelled. No reminder of timeframe, and given booking started at 9pm, we had no expectation of another booking after us. Felt very rushed and disregarded, like we didn't matter. So the exclusive bookings that are advertised mean nothing.

Nice chilled bar with good music. Came here for drinks with friends and the service was shocking didn’t get served for about half an hour and then about 5 of them came over at once and ordered the second round of drinks and didn’t receive that we got up and walked out After 25 minutes as we were sick of waiting.

A great little cosy underground bar. Not suitable for massive groups but nice decor, comfortable surroundings and great service make it a good start to an evening or a relaxing afternoon for couples and small groups. Highly recommended.

Way too expensive for Warrington, probably explains why it was empty, you need a plasterer by the way.

We popped in here for the first time after having a meal in the area. This was around 9pm on a Friday evening and at that time it was quiet. I ordered a Gin off the menu, a Silent Pool which was very nice, it comes as a double with a mixer which works out around £10.70, my husband had a beer, so not much change from £15. We got a table easily and enjoyed our drink there, but feel it would have been so much better if it had been busier as it lack atmosphere. Would visit again though.

We usually eat & drink in Stockton Heath with clients, but more than anything we fancied a change. A friend recommended Institution to us and advised that Palmyra Square has plenty of drinking options too. We stayed at Institution all night, no other options necessary. We arrived at 6pm on Saturday, leaving around midnight having had fantastic burgers and very reasonably priced drinks! We even enjoyed a cigar outside in a very comfortable outdoor area. I’d highly recommend a visit for great food and plenty of promo priced beers!

I saw this bar on Groupon so decided to try it....and really glad I did. The burgers were amazing along with the nachos we had to start. Huge portion sizes & really tasty. Atmosphere was a little strange as the time we were in - 6.30pm - we were the only people eating & not many drinkers in either. But saying that the staff couldn’t do enough for us and even gave us a 10% discount because they thought we were waiting too long for our burgers! We didn’t but gladly accepted the discount!

We regularly visit on a Saturday afternoon for drinks and food. Staff are always smart and very polite. The food is excellent and generous too. Try the sharing platter. Fantastic value for money. Cocktails are expertly made and there's a great range to choose from. And for us ladies... the loos are spotless!!

Horrible service from staff that couldn’t give a damn about anybody but themselves. Apalling service and loads of attitude. We was at the bar on Saturday 30 December and a tall skinny lady with an appalling bun on her head was so rude. Will not be going back to this place, especially as you would expect good service given the prices of drinks

Located in a magnificent architectural building when illustrated at night is breathtaking. Look like a fabulous for any dressy occasion. My 5 star rating goes to the building. I'd been to a gig next door but would love to eat and spend time here on a return visit.

Took an hour to get food, and sent it back twice because it was completely the wrong item. When it eventually arrived it was mediocre at best. Drinks were overpriced and nothing special either.

First time trying this place as recommended by the sexy chef (see pictures) If you love a good burger make sure you pay a visit!!

Loved the surroundings, fantastic quirky place. We presume the lovely lady who served us was maybe the owner but she was very friendly and helpful with everything. Didn't like the attitude of other barmaid who we asked a straight forward acceptable question of what the Wi-Fi code was...normal question nowadays...but lovely lady pulled it back. My husband went for the burger which was absolutely beautiful.

Popped in for a drink shortly after it opened Saturday lunchtime. I was immediately impressed by the design, rustic yet cool. We were the only people in side owing to it only just opening for the day so service was good. I would definitely give it another visit.

Groupon deal.... Wished we hadn't bothered, We're slowing coming to realise why these places offer Groupon, to get you in !! We were the only customers yet everything seemed to much trouble. We asked for two Latte's,they were cold, asked could we have hot ones, still luke warm, no apologies but was asked half way through our meal would we like another... Ermmm no thanks !! Had nearly finnished our meals and was offered the condiments to go with it.... now like I said we were the only people in the place so not exactly rushed of their feet !! We mostly always feel when using a Groupon your treated as second class and at this place, that was how we felt.... Won't be returning !!

Groupon email - burger and a beer (or wine or soft drink) £8, so I booked for four people. I work locally so called in to confirm the reservation, unfortunately the booking app was playing up for them so I'm glad I checked. When we arrived our table / booth was reserved with a little blackboard sign. The waitress (Kim?) was really friendly, she explained how the offer works, a drink & plain burger with chips + £1 extra if you want a different burger. We ordered sweet potato fries and potato skins to start - gorgeous. The burgers arrive on wooden platters with chunky chips (bit too much pepper on but otherwise v nice), presentation is excellent and the waitress was very attentive. As soon as I got home I purchased the Groupon deal again and our return visit was just as good, again I called in to check the booking - I'd advise ringing to make sure the booking goes through to them at the bar.

I took my 8 year old daughter for lunch yesterday (Wednesday) and the service was excellent and the food spot on. She normally only eats chicken nuggets when out, but she demolished her burger.

Gorgeous burgers on both visits here, it seems to be very quiet mid week with us being the only ones there on a Wednesday evening between 7 and 8pm.

Fantastic back bar with great cocktails

Never fails to impress. New menu is exciting with an amazing grilled chilli lime salad (home made salsa is a tastebud sensation). Staff are always polite, courteous and very knowledgeable on the massive selection of spirits available. Cocktail makers extraordinaire! Always a pleasure to visit whether just for drinks or for food.

We went on Saturday night for food and drinks. The food was delicious and service was fantastic. Didn't have cocktails this time sadly as I was driving but had them last time and they are not only amazing but 2 for £10!

I had bought a groupon voucher for my fiancé for Valentines day, was told to book through groupon, which I did on Wednesday 8th. We had arrived early, so wanted to ask if the table was ready and if not, if it's OK to wait. However they hadn't even received the booking, therefore no table, I felt like I got made out to be a liar or I've made the booking for a different, luckily I had proof that I was in the right I had made it for Saturday just gone.

We visited following the purchase of a Groupon voucher and really enjoyed our meal in this fabulous old building. Thursday night was very quiet, but that was ok by us. At the weekend it is much more lively apparently. The cocktail menu was unusual and the staff clearly knowledgeable and passionate about making fabulous drinks. Friendly staff and attentive service, we will go back!

We visited after purchasing a groupon voucher. Very easy to book a table and a good choice of food with the voucher. The hostess was extremely welcoming and happy to help. The burgers were top quality and I would recommend the chilli burger.

My friends and i visited here with two groupon vouchers on a friday night. Table was reserved for us and we took advantage of the two for a tenner cocktails, all of which were nice. Service is good and the bar busied up round ten. Minted lamb burger was great choice we also had the pulled pork burger and a philly burger. Everyone enjoyed their respective burgers and the tables were booths which made a great location for a catch up.

Visited with family for a quick meal. We used a Groupon voucher and was not expecting anything out of the ordinary. I was really delighted with my meal....best burger ever. Good value, good quality and I shall return soon. Thank you

We visited here as a group of friends and they have a fabulous selection of burgers to suit all tastes. Food is delicious and we'll presented. Having been a few times now and always had good food felt I should comment as it is worthwhile place to go for a burger

Tried to go in for a drink with my mum, dad and mrs. Got turned down as my Dad had trainers on! i mean come on its Warrington.. not Manchester City Centre. We was going to spend money and sit quietly having a drink and a catch up! However there are other options such as hernando's hideaway, that was friendly fun and let me and my family in for a drink!

Very tasty food, attentive staff who took the time to get to know you and explain what the place is all about and lots of ambition/passion for their restaurant. Will definitely be back and highly reccomended to others. Great value too!

Lovely food, interesting design, friendly staff. We were on our way to Las Ramblas next door, but decided to take a peek in here. It was early on a Saturday and we were the only ones there. There are semi-circular bank seats down one side, so we took one of those. The menu is good. A bit pricey, but the food was worth it. We were too a bit of the history of the building by the waitress - it's been a bank, and asylum and a school, and there is the original safe set into one wall. We'll be back. I've also visited on a Saturday night, when it's been heaving, with a good atmosphere.

We had a business lunch today at Institution with a few staff. Delighted to find out it was 2 for 1 on all burgers!

My wife and I had booked a table for 7:15 as we were going to a concert at Parr Hall next door and the gig started at 8:30 (surely more than enough time for a couple of drinks and a burger). Walked in bang on time and were shown to out seats in the currently very empty bar.
