The Swan in Warrington

Usually I enjoy a meal here but today I ordered garlic bread it was swimming in butter on the plate and the bread itself was soggy. They did replace it thankfully as I eat here quite a lot. Maybe the chef had an off day

After having a disappointing visit(see below)sometime ago I have visited a few time since! Popped in for a quick lunch Sunday 27 October. We were served by Ollie who was a polite, cheeky and cheerful chap! Made us laugh and served us with a smile on his face. Thanks Ollie for making our lunch enjoyable! Oh and the food was good too! Fish pie was a little oily but nice, too much butter on the sourdough bread that was served with it the veg was good! Sunday lunch looked good, roast turkey and all the trimmings! My partner really enjoyed it! A better experience this time thank you. Ordered signature mixed grill and vegie burger, waited at least 30 mins for the main, starter came within 5 minutes. Stilton and mushrooms with pepper corn sauce. This was ok! The mixed grill came with no chicken breast, when asked the waitress (who was ok) immediately brought half a chicken breast from the kitchen! Not really any apology. The vegie burger was a fried burger that I would have been happy with from Witherspoon! But not here as the prices are higher! All in all very disappointing 😐

This is the first time we have visited The Swan at Winwick and I hope it won’t be the last. We met up with family for Sunday lunch. Excellent choice of menu. Went for the roast turkey Sunday lunch. What a plateful! Full of fresh veg. We managed to find room for dessert. Our waiter Ollie was friendly and attentive. Perhaps the meals could have been a bit hotter but to be fair the place was very busy and the staff were on the go the whole time. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere including a blazing fire. Would definitely recommend.

Food options not available on a very limited menu. One drink not size we ordered, mains tepid in temperature, steak sent back as half fat, over cooked and cold chips, no steak knife, other knives blunt, more drinks ordered, arrived 20 mins later after reminding, 1 drink full fat coke not diet as requested, still no steak, hubby finished meal. Told staff we where dissatisfied and we wouldn't be paying, although the front of house staff where trying to be helpful it was too little after having our rare meal out together ruined, i left without eating.

Lovely local pub with a great atmosphere and delicious menu of bites and meals. Ebony & Amy go above and beyond as servers, super friendly and amazing customer service.

How could anywhere get frozen chips and fish wrong! Go chippy next time it's cheaper

Monday lunch time meal out for 6 adults. We have eaten here many times before. I did book online. Lovely food, food ranged from Belly Pork, steak, hamburger, mixed grill, toad in the hole and fish & chips, I had 3 scoops ice cream and another had a coffee and a mini pudding. Place was all clean and tidy, toilets all OK. Staff all very pleasant, sorry I didn’t get any names. All in all a very enjoyable few hours eating drinking and being together. We will be back again soon no doubt.

Highly recommend this restaurant it s set a little bit back off and he road with good parking. As I am recovering from surgery I asked to order a smaller meal and was offered a very good children’s menu that had many more options than the usual nuggets or burgers, even a choice of sides to accompany the meal. I opted for a small steak which was delicious and the two sides I opted for baked potato and roasted carrots. Hubby had scampi with chips and peas and was happy with his choice. Absolutely fantastic service too from Tina and Charlie. Who checked we were ok with ingredients in case of allergies. Now I know it’s here I will be back.

Had a lovely late lunch served by Dalton. This young man has served us on numerous occasions and is always polite and professional, nothing is too much trouble. Great pub with welcoming, cosy open fire.

Service from ellis was amazing he was quick with service and very smiley. Nothing was too much trouble for him even our fussy drinks orders.

Had a great evening, the food was good and our waiter Ellis was brilliant. He looked after us like a brand new one! I would definitely come back again!

Met here as it is halfway between my friend and I. We have already rebooked. The food is yummy, large portions, great atmosphere and the staff are lovely. I signed up for their mailing list and have been sent a free wine voucher for my birthday ! Definitely book

Had a lovely family meal this evening for my wife's birthday. All the adults had the trio roast,beautiful meals. Looked after wonderfully by all the (busy) staff. Special mention for Grace for the super presentation of the birthday cake..my wife was really pleased ,thank you again 👍👍

Friendly staff. Standard menu for a pub attached to a premier inn. Extensive outside seating on a warm, sunny summer evening. The food was fresh and tasty. It's worth a visit.

The cold fishcake with a rubber ball ( poached egg) with salad ( a tiny bit of shrivelled rocket and 1 slice of cucumber) £9-99. What a joke .,. absolutely awful....

Been today for the first time. I had off the special board the game mixed grill which was boar sausage, venison steak, and roast duck with celeriac slaw, potatoe wedges, onion ring onion chuckney. Have to say it was the best meal I have had eating out in a long time. My husbands meal was nice but he was very envious of my meal when it came out. My husband had dessert which was a trio of old classic desserts Eton mess, sherry trifle. And jam rolly polly with custard. He really enjoyed. We would highly recommend this meal and pub. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed. Service was great will definitely be back.

Brought mum (age93) for Sunday Lunch. Food delish, service excellent - especially Ollie. Will definitely be coming back. Mum loved it too - especially the sticky toffee pudding

The special game mixed grill was delicious and so well cooked. The service was outstanding with Ellis providing a wonderful table service experience. Such a treat to be all around spoiled.

The Swan is our local and we always receive a friendly welcome and smile when we visit. The staff are fantastic and make you feel like part of the family in particular Ebony and Dalton who are always very pleasant and they always find time to have a little chat. The food options on the menu have been somewhat reduced over time which does restrict choices, personally I would like to see some more traditional dishes reintroduced that use to be on the menu.

Called for lunch had the roasted vegetable pie with roast new potatoes. It was good to see not every plate has to be with chips as is often with pub chains. Certainly lots of choice and if in the area I would call again.

It's ok, there was a hiccup with the order in which we received the wrong food. They were out of normal burger buns and barely any cheese on the burger....however the place was very clean and well presented. Staff very friendly.

Enjoyed our visit. Marie and Ollie (David Essex lookalike, according to Joyce), were excellent at helping and serving our food. Both were very pleasant at all times.

We had a great meal celebrating my son's first day at High School. Our waitress was Ebony, and she was amazing. She was really friendly and efficient. When visiting a pub it's the staff which makes the difference, and Ebony was fantastic.

We had a lovely family meal at the Swan this afternoon. It was the first time we had ever been and the staff were very friendly and approachable during a busy time. A special mention goes to Marie and Ollie who served us for the duration of our meal and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Only stopped in for a quick business meeting and only had a pot of tea. Service was excellent and the waitress,pippa was very nice and polite.

Went swan with a few friends today and we had ebony serve us and she was absolutely amazing, took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was fab, I had the sirloin and it was done just how I wanted. Everyone and the service was just spot on. Will definitely recommend

Came into the swan with a few mates, never been before but if I’m around winwick again I would definitely come back. Was served by Ebony who is lovely and very entertaining, really made the night better. So thank you ebony for the brilliant service. Food was fab as well. Very friendly staff.

Went for dinner late Sunday afternoon, we were seated straight away on arrival, our waiter Ollie was really friendly helpful and very chatty. The food took a while to arrive and when it did it was cold, we brought it to the staffs attention and our meals were changed immediately, the replacements were perfect. The only other thing I would like to say is that it was very warm in the restaurant and the windows don’t seem easy to open. Will definitely return though as lovely place.

Well what can I say, first class food. Very professional and lovely staff. Gorgeous pub. Sunday dinner 10out of 10. Definitely will be going back. 4 of us called there today with a baby. Well looked after. Couldn’t do enough for you. Thank you to you all. Well done for working so hard.

We called in for a drink after a lovely walk. The atmosphere was nice and the decor. We were served straight away. We didn't order any food so I can't comment on this. However, seeing the plated meals go by to other tables they looked really nice. We would return with the kids and next time try a meal.

Came here for our son’s 3rd birthday as it is our favourite place to go. The food and staff were excellent as usual! Would like to thank Dan and Dalton for arranging our sons dessert with his number 3 candle lit, and to top it off they handed him a hand written birthday card which topped it off, thank you once again guys!

Fast Fork Snack Bar: A great place for a quick snack! The burgers are juicy and the fries are crispy. The service is excellent. I will definitely come back!

Well over 3 hours for a 2 course lunch!

The Swan restaurant was a complete disaster. Had an evening meal which was at best, terrible and breakfast was quite embarrassing to be fair. Visited with my son 13 and daughter 15. Evening meal was overcooked and tasteless. On arrival at breakfast the head waitress was quite rude as we hadn’t pre-booked complaining they had 31 pre booked in and many like us hadn’t, bear in mind I am here with my 13 & 15 y/o children. Anyway she showed us to our table where we noticed no pastries, no milk, 50% of cereals out of date! Yes, out of date! When we mentioned the cereals they were quickly taken away, the milk was topped up and regarding the zero pastries she said no more was coming out. I said, well what about customers that just want a continental breakfast? She said, it’s first come first serve. We saw breakfasts being sent back to the kitchen and all the time the staff were sniggering as if this was a common occurrence. When my daughter went to get some juice she heard the same member of staff still complaining about non bookings. This was the most shambolic and disappointing breakfast experience ever in my 150+ stays at a Premier Inn. Never, ever again would I stay at this hotel or eat at The Swan.

Marie the hostess was so kind and helpful, even adding a personal touch to the birthday cake we brought along. One order slightly wrong but was redone right away.

We had booked a Sunday lunch which was lovely as always the only downside was a couple at the back of us constantly bickering and falling out and on mobile phone 😲 Our waiter Ollie was fabulous, very friendly, took the time to take our order, he was very efficient and had a smile throughout, I am sure if we had requested to move tables he would have obliged. We visit regularly and this is the 2nd time Ollie has served us so well done The Swan for employing such lovely staff 😀

We took 3 friends with us one who had not visited The Swan before and the other couple who first went here 40 years ago when they first dated. The complete service and food experience was amazing and we agreed that this will be a regular occurrence now. The food portions were generous and more than value for money, the beer was good as well. All in all a lovely night out and at a reasonable price also. See you again soon 😁

The food was lovely and the staff were happy to help . I had a good catch-up with friends, and we weren't rushed into choosing.

Marie was a lovely host and we enjoyed our early evening tea here. The portions are a very good size. The salted caramel sundae was delicious!

All the staff are lovely, friendly and well organised, they’re always smiling and can’t do enough for you. Dalton's brilliant and Marie’s amazing they always make sure you’re well looked after. The food is fantastic you won’t be disappointed with anything and even if you’re just going for a quiet drink it’s super cozy. Even better that it’s dog friendly too!!.

Maria and her staff are very friendly and proficient. We had to wait for the food but it was definitely worth it. Our first time there but it won't be our last. Would recommend to anyone who wants good food, and a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Dalton was lovely and couldn’t do enough for us

As an Autistic wheelchair user I felt totally disrespected at having to use a horrible, pokey, narrow door to the rear of the property. The music once inside the place was horrendously loud, raucous jazz which left me feeling so overwhelmed I had to leave immediately.

Amazing food and service, Dalton was very friendly and helpful and gave me a lovely 70th birthday treat.

Quite possibly the worsed thing I've ever had the displeasure of eating Burgers burnt to a crisp and chips as cold as the moment they came out the deep freeze Guinness was good but other than that Filth on a plate I'd not subject myself to it again let's put it that way

Visited 30 July 2024 late afternoon sat outside as the sun was shining. Family of four Marie took are drinks order was so polite and then came back for our food order she went above and beyond with the service and with my neice who is a really fussy eater. Food was delicious. See you again soon.

Popped in for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed, the sunday lunch was fantastic, especially the beef short rib! Excellent service from the team, will definitely be coming again as this was our first time.

Our book club had Sunday lunch at The Swan. There was a really good menu with lots of choice. I chose the sea bass which was beautifully cooked and came with a good selection of veg which was healthy too! Our waiter, Ollie, was very good indeed and very pleasant and fruendly.

Fantastic food. 3 adults & 2 children really enjoyed the it there. Big portions for both adults & children. The fish & chips were really good, fish cooked perfect. The mix grill was also really good cooked perfectly to how we wanted. Friendly staff, easy booking & fast service for a Friday night. 100% would recommend!

Disgusting reception, with over an hour left on the clock for food, the waiter with glasses and dark hair of slender build, had an issue with serving us complaining how there’s only two of us on and it’ll take a while, the pub was virtually empty 0 pressure. He even uttered there’s much nicer places to eat than here under his breath… I hope his managers sees this review and acts accordingly, I don’t actually mind if there’s an issue with service but the rolling of eyes and back handed comments, we’re enough to leave this review. Food was ok however I’m unsure whether we were being lied to about over half of the menu being sold out.
