Wasabi in Birmingham

Pros: * usually very good food * never had any problems with the service. Pretty good most of the time. Cons: * published nutritional information only covers per 100g but gives no idea of the average portion size. No use to a type 1 diabetic and there for a low score overall.

We really don’t recommend the salmon protein pots, absolutely awful quality. First and last for us, best to walk on by and find a better place for food.

This place is part of a sushi chain, located on the mail train station in Brum, so it's always packed, but also the food is always fresh. The atmosphere of course isn't much, it really feels like people come and go all the time, but the sushi is much better then in similar places around town, so it's a good option if you're on the go and in need of a quick bite.

I nipped in here on my way to a meet-up, and got a dorayaki, a bag of tempura crackers and a seaweed onigiri to go. Wasabi is really good for train dinners, and if you only have a short amount of time for a substantial dinner - you can grab from the counter, queue and get going quite efficiently. I've had the chicken katsu and the sushi platters before now and they're both good-sized reasonably priced main meals. The aloe vera drink is excellent, really refreshing; grab some if you can! I think perhaps the onigiri packaging needs to be reconsidered though. I followed the usual instructions for pulling the tape but the labels had been placed over the lines, meaning I didn't get a nice clean cut. The riceball ended up disintegrating in the packet and it made for a messy eat on the go - not great!

For a train trip to wales we grabbed sushi and some other ready to eats. the food was not bad, but nothing special.

Rude unhelpful staff who just push past you, never visiting again! Sushi selection has severely deteriorated, so anyone with a wheat issue or vegan need not bother.

I am soooo pleased. I had many suahi in my life ind many different countries but that... my taste just explore new level. It was so fresh,rice amazing structure,so many different options in one set and price rediciulous... yesterday I had 2 boxes in different place I payed £50 not even in half good like here. I payed 30£ had 3 sets and small wrap and drink... people highly recommend!!!!

If you are in a harry or simply you want to eat something healty in New street station, Wasabi is the right answer. A lot of things to taste witha good ratio quality on money

Having tried a number of sushi places in Birmingham, Wasabi always wins! Not only does the sushi taste authentic but the choice offered is great. The portion sizes are generous and will actually fill you up. Provides value for money. The only downside is that Wasabi is a popular spot and often will be out of stock of some of the favourites. Recently popped in and was pleased to find a whole new Vegan range which really did not disappoint. Tastes just as good as the Vegetarian sushi - which Wasabi provides a great range of. This particular Wasabi is in Grand Central, feels like a cafeteria and isn’t a great sit down place - more grab and go. Will usually opt to takeaway the sushi or soups and they keep well to consume at a later time.

Good fresh food .....lots of choice. Not options are always good but the sushi is favourite. Good when in a hurry.

Fantastic sushi all supplied with chopsticks and little dishes for the soy and wasabi. Felt like I was back in Japan as I ate my meal on the train! Please open up a branch in Cardiff!

Wasabi has a great selection of sushi at great prices. Also, a variety of hot dishes as well. Service is friendly, but it took quite a while to get part of my order. There are tables if you want to eat in, although they are not the most comfortable place to sit in the station. This place is definitely worth a visit if you like Japanese cuisine.

Went for lunch with my husband, I got food poisoning from a vegan bento box. Husband had a meat version, he was fine. Never again 😫🤮
