I don't know where I should start. First of all, you can literally smell their pasties from the other side of Tavistock, and when you get there, they won't disappoint. Got 2 medium trad pasties for my friend & I for lunch, and the lady at the counter discounted it by like 60p each using the Warren's app or something like that. She also gave us a lot of vouchers (not that we were gonna use them) so we gave them away. Should've eaten it in Tavistock, because when I reached the service station, it was a bit cold. Just going to say this: As a tourist, maybe I don't know what a proper Cornish pasty tastes like, but Warren's fulfills my definition of proper (the ones up in London are worse and twice as expensive).

Stopped in for lunch to take away, the large pasties were really good, we also treated ourselves to some meringues and saffron cake for later which went down a treat. Friendly service and a great selection to chose from, recommend if in the area.

A few years ago their pasties were delicious. Bought one today, a medium traditional, was overcooked, hard pastry, shrunken inside, tasteless, might have been warned up from yesterday. Threw half of it away Top price for poor quality product. Plenty of pasty makers in tavistock where you can get a good pasty, I'll avoid warrens in future

Have bought on numerous occasions from here but bitterly disappointed as pointed to my choice from the counter , asked if I would like anything else , leave shop with a product not from display, stewed and reheated ! Have had to go else where as put defective product in bin ! Be aware to specify your purchase as obviously a management? Initiative to maximise profit at the cost of repeat trade 😵‍💫

We live in Tavistock and eating at all the different pasty houses became a bit of a lockdown project. This was one of our favourites as they use just the right amount of pepper, and you get a decent crust. I also thought that you get slightly more filling here than from The Original Pasty House down the road, and the queues aren’t as long

Have always enjoyed this chain in the West Country and visiting Tavistock was pleased to find a branch, a really good traditional bakery shop, I bought a small gourmet sausage roll for my lunch which was very tasty washed down with a takeaway cup of tea.

Bought a chicken and a chunky veg pasty and then had a lovely 25 min walk down the canal to the park, pasties were still piping hot inside! Pastry was not dry and the filling was delicious

There are several outlets to buy pasties but Warrens have to be the best. If you have room try the cakes, pastries and bread also.

Too reapidly going out of business sad to say, but this is an honest old fashioned bakery, to eat hot or cold, take away and eat at home. I love it. Everything is freshly baked and served with a smile

We stopped in here to grab a pasty each for our lunch on a day out in Tavistock. They had your usual Original Cornish Pasty but also did a Cheese and Marmite one too. It was nice to see something a little different. All of our choices were very tasty with nothing being left.

Quality Bakery but very expensive especially their pasties.Well known establish Cornish business.Like most businesses that open in Tavistock they seem to think they can adjust their prices upwards. Its a shame that the end of the day they have to reduce unsold produce by hailing at customers outside the shop. Very undignified for the staff.A large placard would be more dignified.

Delicious Cornish pasties from a Cornish based company. Warrens really know how to bake a real Cornish pasty, not an imitation like so many others.

Warrens are the oldest Cornish Pasty maker in the world! And they were pretty good.. you can get better but would recommend the bakery in Tavistock.

I popped in to buy a sandwich for lunch. There was limited choice. I opted for cheese salad. It had a generous filling and the salad was very fresh. The cheese was ok but unremarkable. I suspect the pies and pasties on offer were a better deal. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Chicken pasty from here was delicious, the traditional cornish just standard fayre. Service was a little off, not the local friendly, chattiness to be found elsewhere in the town, and I was being up sold to all the time. They are expensive but there were some good deals on the money saving coupon they gave me when leaving.

Have to say it - having sampled numerous pasties over a two week holiday - Warrens are the best by a country mile! Tasty pastry (nicely seasoned) Good meat content Nicely moist Well seasoned.

Sadly this shop has been taken over by a chain baker and it is nowhere near as good as it used to be. I thought it was expensive and I get being asked to add on items (which were on a deal) none of which I required. I remember we used to queue to get in this shop some 25 years ago - sadly a sign of the times.

Warren's market themselves as being the oldest established and surviving retail pasty makers. They have many many branches even in west and south Devon and Plymouth. They are straightforward and predictable but I don't enjoy their pasties which always taste as if they have been produced in quantity to a broad but rigid procedure. They meet a need and obviously are profitable. But there are average other bakers and shops in Tavistock who sell more tasty pasties.

I like pasty's and do not get a chance to eat them very often. When in Tavistock this month, I decided to try three pasty shops. I read other reviews, so I tried Palmer's the butcher, the original Pasty House and Warrens Bakery. I bought a steak pasty at each location.

Highly recommend this traditional family run pub. The Landlady is the hardest working person I have ever met and always with a smile on her face. She made us so welcome as did the locals. Lots of locals (good sign) and excellent menu. Not too fussy - just good traditional pub food. I had the sausages & mash with onion gravy with freshly cooked vegetables. Great desserts. We stayed overnight on a Devon Coast to Coast bike ride. My room in the main building was clean, fresh sheets and a bath!!! Essential on a bike riding trip! Views from the pub are stunning when the sun is shining. There is a caravan park out the back. There is cottage accommodation as well which is basic. I encourage you to visit and support them.

We visited here whilst in the area for a few days unfortunately we found the White Hart Inn not until our last evening and we wished we found it on our first. The staff were very welcoming and friendly we felt most welcome it kind of made our trip being here. The food was superb and we could not believe the devon prices so reasonable sort it out cornwall! Easy double the price back home half the taste. Plenty of parking, dog friendly, will leave with change. We speak often of going back

The Post Inn, a stone's throw from the Whiddon Down Travelodge and seemingly the only viable food option within walking distance. Upon reading the overwhelmingly glowing reviews me and my fair lady excitedly headed for dinner post exploring Dartmoor in much need of freshly made home nourishment. Ambience wise the place is interesting, definitely a local's English Pub. Various old world Bric a brac and guitars adjourned the walls alongside the vibrant plastic plants. For the drinkers, a nice selection of local ale and ciders from the well stocked bar, no complaints here. Now onto the food...mid range priced at Gastropub levels we were both anticipating some well cooked locally sourced produce from a competent chef. What we received was even more soulless than a Wetherspoons microwave meal for double the price and without the free pint! Fish and chips, £16 I thought to myself 'An English Classic, It'd be hard to mess this up' A brief wait and what arrived was an overcooked piece of frozen fish drier than the Sahara desert with the batter rock hard and probably best used as a cricket bat. Frozen peas hopefully steamed but possibly microwaved and unseasoned. The Fries were OK but clearly just frozen and dumped into the frier. The little Lady, she ordered a burger which again really lacked any taste and seemed frozen or boiled to temperature served for her in an inedible GF bun. She fed it to the Pub dog and hoped the poor thing wouldn't choke to death. Food Price and quality seriously letting the place down. Once bitten twice shy.
