WAROENG WINDSOR LTD in Windsor and Maidenhead

Was looking for asian restaurant in Windsor and was surprised to find an Indonesian restaurant. I was warmly served. I ordered ayam woku and they were kind enough to give me additional sambal when I asked them because I LOVE spicy food. The meal itself tasted like home-cooked meal. Will return and try other menu if I visited Windsor again.

The food is so so flavourful and my chicken was cooked to perfection - juicy and tender. Thinking coming back for dinner to try out more dishes 🤤 In the end, I did come back for dinner ☺️

Very authentic Indonesian restaurant! We tried the lamb tongseng and mie siram and both were delicious. Service was also amazing and food came out fairly quick too. Would highly recommend and a definite must when visiting Windsor!

Well, where do I even begin? I still feel enchanted by the magic of this place. After my trip to Bali, I was eager to find an authentic spot to relive the incredible flavors I experienced in Ubud. I tried a few places in London and Birmingham, but none quite matched the taste and quality of what we had in Bali. Then, my sister-in-law from Windsor recommended this restaurant, and wow—what a discovery! The very first bite of my Nasi Goreng instantly transported me back to Indonesia. The flavors were spot on, just like the dishes we enjoyed in Bali. We ordered Chicken Nasi Goreng, Crispy Fried Duck, and Prawn Balado. The Nasi Goreng was so delicious that we had to order another, and if we weren’t already so full, we would have gladly ordered more of the Prawn Balado as well. Amazing food, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more. A perfect 10/10!

Lovely family run business with delicious traditional Indonesian 🇮🇩 food that my partner absolutely loved. It was like a return to the tastes and flavours of her hometown. The owner Uta who hosted us was also very humble and welcoming. We will be back as we’re only around the corner, would definitely recommend.

It’s taken me almost 20 years in the UK to find such authentic and delicious home style Indonesian food. Real flavours from the ice tea to the tahu to the bakso, rendang and cendol. Santi and her husband make diverse dishes from different parts of Indonesia every day as specials, in addition to their regular menu with all the classics. From the warm hospitality, having a chat with Santi was a joy. I will be returning regularly though I don’t live in Windsor. Enak Sekali! Also, they are dog friendly. Waroeng Windsor is worth a visit if you’ve lived or travelled or from Indonesia or if you’re looking for a change from Thai and Indian food. Absolutely delicious and good value for money.

It’s been almost a year that we have been trying to visit this place and we finally had an opportunity today which definitely didn’t disappoint. We had an incredible dining experience, where the flavors truly transported us to Indonesia. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and inviting atmosphere which made us feel right at home. We started with their sharing platter of starters, which was an excellent way to sample a bit of everything. Each bite was packed with authentic flavours and went really well with the flavorful dips. It’s something I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to explore a variety of Indonesian appetizers in one go! For our mains we had their Bakso, which we learnt was homemade and it was outstanding. The meatballs were perfectly textured, served in a rich, savoury broth that was both comforting and full of depth. We also tried their Sambal Ayam, which was another highlight. The chicken was juicy on the inside with a crispy exterior, and the sambal added the perfect balance of heat and bold flavor—it had just the right kick to keep us coming back for more! To complement our meal, we enjoyed their local tea, which was aromatic and refreshing, rounding off the experience beautifully. They’ve got a lot more dishes on the menu, which I’m looking forward to coming back and trying and I’m sure it’ll not disappoint. Everything about this restaurant, from the authentic flavors to the friendly service, made it a fantastic experience. If you’re looking for genuine Indonesian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Really amazing food. Finally, I found an Indonesian Restaurant which has authentic Indonesian dishes. The place is really clean, warm, and the owner is really friendly to customers. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to try real Indonesian food. My favorite dish in this place is Ayam Bakar Solo.

I always come here for their Ayam Penyet or Ayam Cabe Hijau whenever I crave Indonesian-style fried chicken. Their homemade chilli sambal was amazing. It’s hot, spicy, fruity and addictive! 10/10! Staff were smiley and polite. This is a hidden gem in Windsor!

My friends and I accidentally came across this restaurant as we were exploring Windsor. We were warmly welcomed with smiles by the employees. They also took the time and effort to explain each dish to us. We celebrated our friend’s birthday that day and they were kind enough to offer us free desserts! As international students, we enjoyed the food a lot as it provided us a sense of comfort and homeliness. Will definitely come back again! Especially when were missing home :))

I decided this is where I will go for Indonesian food and vibe without having to jump on a plane. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. Food authenticity ticked: the nasi goreng, grilled sea bass, and sambal tasted like home. A friend from Malaysia also approved and had to take the sambal home 😊 Thank you and keep it up, folks. I feel fortunate to have you so close to where I live. Will definitely be back! Probably earlier next time, so you don’t run out of cendol, haha.

Everything was very good, service was excellent and the owners are very friendly. The chicken satay was the best we’ve had in the UK, so was the noodles. Will be back soon!

Warm, delicious food on a cold day and a friendly server to boot. The food wasn't as authentically Indonesian as we would have liked but it was great nonetheless. The only thing that let the eatery down was it being quite cold even on the inside. We had to keep our costs on throughout. Otherwise, a solid place to eat.

Waroeng Windsor in Windsor is bigger and located strategically in the centre of Windsor. It is a good place to chill, to enjoy the lovely Indonesian food after a hard day shopping or sightseeing. More variations of food for everyone. Friendly host too...Love it👍😍🤗

We had beef rendang and a Javanese lamb stew. Both were delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful and everything arrived promptly.

We just happened to stumble upon this place and it was amazing. We ordered Nasi goreng, Mei goreng both were vegetarian options and the taste was outstanding. Service was excellent and the chef/owner was very polite and humble. Henceforth this definitely would be our regular restaurant.

Excellent specials make sure to ask lovely Santi to walk you through the specials! I tried the prawn with Borneo sauce. Definitely worth a visit. Try be adventurous beyond the Laksa, but I’m sure laksa is great too!

We were served apple juice with a piece of fungus floating on it. I took it back and the second glass had bits floating and was slimey. I’d always give someone a pass for a mistake but the second time can’t have been a mistake. The apple juice was for my young son so I only stayed for food so as not to spoil the atmosphere for everyone else in my group. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal. I wasn’t impressed with any of the food, mine or anyone else’s. We weren’t offered a paper bill with a breakdown, just handed the card machine with a verbal list breakdown and end total of £125 roughly for four people. No discount was offered in acknowledgment of the off Apple juice - we didn’t ask either. I can forgive food that isn’t to my liking but serve my son fungus?!!

Delicious Indonesian food with authentic flavors! The Ikan Bakar Rica, adjusted to 'non-spicy' on request, was still rich in taste and came in a generous portion. Excellent service and a must-visit. I’ll be back for sure!

A group of 6 of us went for late lunch today and woww it’s fantastic!! They meant business with the use of chillies. Authentic flavours that if you have been to Asia you’ll know the taste immediately. Really generous portions and we were more than full/happy😊

My family are originally from Indonesia and it’s hard to find authentic food in the UK. The food here made me feel like I was in Jakarta eating the foods from the local vendors, the owners are incredibly kind, I would encourage anyone to come and try this food just for the taste itself!! 10/10

I'm from Malaysia, believe me it's hard to find authentic food from that part of the world. I decided to try this place on a whim and I'm so happy I did. Nasi goreng was so tasty even without the spicy sambal. Mee goreng was delicious. The charcoal chicken was tender and my mouth is watering thinking about it. The family loved it too. It's well worth the visit. The owner is super friendly and we had a good chat while I was waiting for my takeout. This is absolutely authentic Indonesian food. Flavorful without having to resort to loading it with chilli oil or sambal paste. I would 100% recommend this restaurant, they go above and beyond for you and I will definitely be back soon!

The food is horrible service is too long and rude I found a hair on my food and asked to be replaced and he refused to replace it. Dont waste your time and money in a restaurant that is dirty and rude

Been going to this restaurant when they were in Aldershot a few years ago. Now that they have moved to Windsor I would gladly say I will travel 40 mins to enjoy the most authentic Indonesian food Waroeng could bless you. Food is just like I had in the streets of Indonesia, the service is of top quality even the owners still remember me from years ago. A very friendly and accommodating space for everyone. If it is your first time don’t miss out on the Nasi Goreng with Chicken skewers! The slow cooked Beef Rendang is so tender it’s definitely a must try! Could not stress this enough, this restaurant needs more recognition for its quality and authenticity. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do!

Nasi goreng had that lovely fresh off the grill texture- very tasty! The chicken sate also had a great flavour and real grilled taste. Will be ordering again!

Had the starter and the satay meat had a horrible taste though it was a dirty griddle but it was like some sort of fuel taste where they fuel the fire nasty and the mains was not the greatest we have had We could see why they was not busy Definitely will not be back

Delicious food (we had a crispy duck and nasi goreng seafood), good value and the service was so friendly and attentive. There was a family celebration on the day, we felt very welcomed and kindly even got an extra plate of food. Also the dessert was delicious. A true gem and we can't wait to go back.

The food here was excellent and authentic. We had steamed fish dumplings with vegetables and peanut sauce (siomay), fried chicken and rice (ayam penyet, with a very delectable sambal) and meatball soup (bakso). On the whole everyone was very nice, lovely service, with generous portion sizes. There is a dish for everyone, whether that be for meat lovers, vegetarians, or plant-based. I would highly recommend this place, preferably with a large group so you can try more dishes! While they had run out of the drink es cendol, we had the es teler, which was also just as good. Would certainly go back again!

The food is delicious - although the amount that comes is not much. The waiter made us wait almost 15 min to take our orders and meals then didn't come together - which turns The experience a bit into a stress when you've a starving toddler with you. Thankfully they brought rice for the child earlier which was very kind. Would recommend for the delicious food!

Absolutely worth it! Excellent food for a reasonable price. They don't cheat you on flavour, presentation, or quantity. The staff are friendly and you can see they try their best balancing the cooking and taking orders from customers. As food goes in Windsor, this is one of the better places.

After living in Bali, I was in search of authentic Indonesian food in england, and no place i’ve tried has lived up to the deliciousness of Waroeng Windsor!! Within my first bite of the Soto Ayam, I forgot I was in Windsor, and was transported straight back to Bali. 10000/10🌊The staff are the loveliest too!!

What a great find for homemade comfort food. This family run independent restaurant offers freshly cooked authentic food with generous portion sizes. My go to place next time I visit Windsor. Visited during a quiet period but I’m sure the atmosphere would be great when busy

I'm giving this place a 2 star just because of the value for money. Food is good but it is very pricey for the amount you get. They also charge you 20% for service - I don't really see the point of this. Their service isn't outstanding.

Not value for money for me. £9 for 3 cans of coke. Bit of an insult when the can has 75p marked on it and the waiter makes you pour it yourself. We visited 6 months ago in the summer and it was excellent. Feel it has rapidly gone downhill. Wouldn’t go back!!

If you are closed on Monday Easter please specify it on the web as we are travelling quite far from your place to find out that you are closed. It’s very frustrating

The service was really great and me and my wife really enjoyed the food.

Food was really amazing. Authenticity far exceeded our expectations. Also, the owner was such a great guy. Proud of his country and really went out of his way to make sure we ordered the right things for our family (we had little kids in tow).
