Booked a table on recommendation. Early evening and the restaurant was already busy and within 45 minutes it was packed. Despite this the service was attentive and friendly and the food was served without undue delay. The food was very well presented and above all it was delicious. The best curry meal we have had in years. Recommended

This was my first visit, and we had pre-booked a reasonable table. The placed was packed, which we took as a good sign. We found that the service was good, and eager to please, although not necessarily quick. The food was very spicy, which is how good Indian food should be. It was a pleasure to have an Indian meal which actually tasted of spices, and it was a cut above the bland offerings (chilli aside) that are often a feature of bog-standard Bangladeshi restaurants. My food was hot, but only because I asked for it. My companions' curries were spicy, but not particularly hot. So I recommend the Burj at Swindon.

The food was amazing but the service was not very good. It was like they were rushing us to finish our food. They kept asking us if we wanted more drinks. The waiter came up to us twice before we could order our food. I told him we had drinks and if we could order our food that would be great. When the food came it felt like they were rushing us to finish our food. They tried to take my food away when I was still eating. I told them firmly that I was still eating. It just felt very rushed and the staff did not seem friendly. I am also of Bengali origin and I could understand every word they were saying as it wasn’t very nice what they were saying. I was very disappointed with the service.

I have been a regular customer over the years for meals in and takeaways, but sadly won't be inclined to come again after my last visit. The food was, as always, wonderful, but our party of 8 adults+2 children, on this occasion, were rushed and pushed into making fast choices by surly, almost rude waiters, who hovered en masse, and couldn't wait to clear plates from under our noses and thrust menus at us, we weren't allowed to relax with coffee's or chat, but bustled out. It was clear by the crowd's in the bar that the tables were booked up for rapid turnover, and customer service, which used to be friendly and comfortable, certainly wasn't.

The Burj is a restaurant I have enjoyed previously sadly I will not be returning for a second bad experience. A special celebration ruined by firstly a sullen unhappy waiter followed by four separate menu choices on our table, all met with disappointment. The duck , my choice was so unrecognisable and the meal itself so over spiced that I couldn't eat it. Not one plate was returned empty and with smiley faces. We arrived at 7pm and after our starters we waited and asked when our main course would be served. No apology for the lengthy time it took. We didn't stay for dessert or coffee and on the bill , guess what, "service charge!!!!!. Not a venue I would recommend.

I first went to the Burj just before Christmas. Since then my family and I have become addicted to the food there. We've been 6 or 7 times since then and the food and service has been excellent. Each time, we choose something different from the menu and we have not been disappointed. We recently tried a take-away from there and I think it's the first time a takeaway has matched the quality of the food you get in the Restaurant. In fact, we have abandoned our usual Indian takeaway as the Burj was way ahead in terms of quality. Thoroughly recommend, and would advise booking a table as it can get busy.

After the last few years of the covid situation we were looking forward to getting together for a family of 7 meal. We where crammed into a small table area, three of our family on a table for 2 people. The restaurant was packed, only a few feet between table after table of customer's, no social distancing or masks. We waited a long time for drinks, that where wrong, and even longer for the food that came out bit by bit. By the time all the food was on the table the first food delivered was cold. The chicken tikka masala tasted like tomato soup, the balti was so hot, more like a jalfrezi. The Naan bread was pre cut into slices meaning you only got just over half of a naan bread. The Bombay potatoes where just boiled potatoes and some terrible sauce put over the top. I understand that different chef's cook the food to different heat's, I've eaten in enough restaurants to experience this. But this food was so so hot, even the Madras was almost unbearable. A few waiters just stand around on their mobile phones in the restaurant area, very difficult to get any service. Only 1 person eat their meal out of 7.

This is probably the 4th maybe 5th time we've been here. It's the first time since the pandemic. To be honest the food wasn't as good as on previous occasions, it could be a change of chef, who knows? We all had various chicken based meals and the chicken was somewhat dry beneath the sauces it was served with. The waiting staff are a bit pushy, by which i mean they are pushing the courses upon you as quickly as they can. You have to keep telling them that you're still looking/deciding. The prices are a little higher than the average Swindon Indian restaurant and there was a time when this was justifiable, but not sure they are now.

We used to visit quite often and this was the first time this year. Staff were very welcoming, friendly, and recognised and observed enhanced health and safety rules because of COVID. Food was as flavoursome as usual and service was prompt and efficient. Unlike other reviewer no problem with accuracy of bill (never have had that problem) and will go back again.

Gave in and tried the Burj again after previous X2 visits as had extras added to bill mainly drinks that we did not have. Surprise surprise same thing happened again last night so took the edge off a nice evening. Nice food, good service but when presented with the bill again extra drinks added but fortunately we were prepared for this. A coincident I don’t think so, therefore won’t be going back, great place so why do they do this? Check your bill carefully if & when eating here, real shame.

My wife and I have been to India many times, and whilst no UK restaurant can truly be called authentic this one does a very good job. In the early days we went to the Raj in Marlborough, then to the Palm on the A4, but the Burj acquired their head chef and now offers a great product with better service I think than the Palm in recent time, and I have no hesitation in reccomending it.

I have visited the Burj a few times and visited last Friday. It was quite busy but we didn't have to wait long for a table and were impressed with the staff for arranging it so quickly as we had not booked in advance. We ordered two different dishes. The lamb chop chilly milly was quite tasty & different to the norm. The other one was some chicken dish & was totally unimpressive. The staff were friendly, courteous and professional.

I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times and not once have I ever been disappointed. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional and offer incredible service. The menu offers an extensive list of delicious traditional Indian dishes and my particular favourite is their Chicken Tikka Masala. It’s incredibly creamy, with a delicious flavour and a touch of spice. Alongside with the BEST garlic nan bread I’ve ever tasted. The portion size is incredibly generous and the quality of meat is wonderful.Truly recommend, a restaurant not to be missed!
