My local. Great pub. As an ale and craft beer drinker, options are limited, but this is a village pub catering for everyone, so can't focus on one type of clientèle, so provides more options across all tastes, rather than just a more niche group. People are friendly as are the staff and you can see in the age range how this pub services its' community.

Good music, friendly bar tender, locals friendly. Seemed like a nice pub. Went there for a refresh after walking around the lovely countryside.

Great village pub.....I used to live in the area years ago. It was good to be back and see that they have overhauled the place in a brilliant way. It is still the best venue to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon

I used to go to this pub during my clubbing days. I liked it then but luv it now. Its had a recent refit with the bar and seating more open than before. Didn't drink the beer as I was working. The new manager Mel has done a good job organising the pub, bringing in local bands and a top chef. Food is good, staff are well friendly. Family friendly during the day. The pub backs onto Golcar cricket pitch with a decent sized patio and picnic tables edging the pitch. Just watch out for square leg sixes on Sunday. The manager Melissa is very helpful and friendly along with her staff. Oh and their is a large log burner for those cold evenings.. luv it, well done Mel.

Can't rate food as we didn't eat here. Atmosphere was vibrant and locals are lovely. Staff are also a credit to this lovely pub. Very clean and modern with a cosy oldy world feel.

THE most dog friendly venue in Huddersfield. Staff are great, beer is great, prices are great....can't rate the food haven't eaten their yet.

Pretty unremarkable, they had cask ale,2 pumps I think, and it was okay.

Lovely in the sunny weather to sit outside with a glass of wine.

Was in Friday and Saturday, and no food available on both evenings. This is a let down, to say they have only just started serving food. The neck oil was good though.

Just had Sunday lunch was very nice would come back again the food is excellent reasonably priced too there is a good choice too

I'd review the drinks but we waited 50 minutes and didn't get one whilst the table next to us were served twice in that time.

Went for a drink.... couldn't get one so walked out! Excuse was they were very busy! 2 waiting staff for approx 95 people. Don't bother going unless you enjoy getting stressed out and barked at!!

Three of us ate off the tapas menu yesterday and every dish was delicious , I would definitely recommend it. Eaten here a lot and the chef is very good , always very tasty and generous portions , the beef and chicken baguettes with chips are only £5.50 so exceptional value as the meat is high quality from the farm shop. The chicken jalfrezi is the best my other half has ever eaten !

Friday is shout at yer mates night...... Its ace, and every one joins in, By shouting at their mates........ food looks stunning. If u want to join in, just bring a friend along, and shout at them . It's easy

Great pub for cricket lovers, buy your drink then take the few short steps on to the terrace and sit back and watch the match.

Visted this pub as i was visiting the area and the atmosphere is amazing. everyone is so friendly and lovley and they had screens up with sport and a music box which everyone was putting their jams on. definitely a family fun pub as all the kids were running around playing football in the back. highly recommend... will definitely be going back when im back in the area 10/10

A traditional local pub with a modern outlook. Great for families during the day, quizzes on Wednesday and other events throughout the week. Great selection of food on offer freshly cooked, plenty of beer choices to suit all tastes, wine and alcohol free options are available

Lovely traditional Yorkshire Pub, with amazing views of Huddersfield from its rear areas, which consists of picnic tables on the small patio running down one side of the pub, and a great sheltered smoking terrace with seating, tables and heaters. The pub also boasts its own cricket field, which is openly accessible to customers. Being south-facing, this is a great place to relax when the sun finally makes an apperance over Yorkshire! Its the most genuinely 'family-welcome' pub I've been in for years. The McMahon Family made everyone feel welcome;- especially the kids - with its large outdoor adventure-play area, and boxes of toys inside. They even had proper, wall-mounted, baby changing stations in both the Mens, AND, the Ladies toilets, with wipes, nappy bags, nappy bins, and even a few spare nappies in case you ran out!! They had many bands and events lined up last time we were there, and a good selection of draughts, spirits and bottles reasonably priced. They screen all the big sporting events, and are also home to the Golcar County Cricket Club, pool, darts, cards & dom's teams I believe. They used to do wonderful home-cooked food on a weekend but I think this may have stopped at the moment (2016). Best local independently-run family friendly, clean, & well run pub for miles!!
