Walkabout in Glasgow City

I am normally quite a regular here with my work colleagues seeing as we also work in hospitality and have always had a great experience here! I happened to come in on a random afternoon with my partner before going to the cinema around the corner. Upon arrival I went up to the bar to order a beer and a Redbull to which I was not asked for ID from the member of staff, nor was there anyone on the door to ask us for ID when we arrived - just for reference. We sat for an hour with no issues, and then when I went up to order food and a second beer the woman on the bar had asked for my ID. I provided it and then she asked if my partner had any - now he did not and I did argue saying that my partner was 29 but he just didn’t have ID to which we were then refused service and rather rudely told that ‘technically’ we should leave the establishment as it’s an 18+ bar. Obviously we left but it’s such a shame that the woman who was on the bar felt the need to be rude and dismissive. I understand the rules however if you’re going to enforce them it should be consistently and not just when staff members pick and choose… It’s just such a shame because my work colleagues regularly use this place as a pre-night out drinking spot…we’ve rarely ever had any issues before.

Food was amazing, drinks very reasonably priced, we had the boozy brunch. Very good value.

Wouldn't let our (sober) friend in, apparently doors were closed. This was at 22:30 on a Saturday night when it was open to 1 am. It was half empty then, not sure what their business plan is.

Bethany the bartender was lovely and friendly we all had a good laugh

Popped in for food before a show with my elderly mother and 16 year old son to be refused entry as my son wasn't 18 for food!!! I have never heard the likes of it in my life! Who needs to be 18 for food! No wonder the place was empty. Jobs worth on the door!

Bottomless wings for £13 on Sunday is a great deal!

Tables have a slant in them that no one will tell you about, lost a whole pint over my cock and balls, first spill was laugh, second spill my night was ruined, manager had the cheek to charge me for a whole drink because of their faulty hardware, the atmosphere stunk as well so would not recommend

The loos were in a disgusting state and when l was at a unreserved table with other tables around the woman just put a reserve sign on my table as if to say that you have to move soon , the place has gone down hill since COVID times

Was in today with my elderly grandfather. The woman working on the bar was beyond helpful. Excellent service and a good place to sit and pass the day.

Came to walkabout tonight for the celtic game, the staff were so helpful and cleared us a table in no time and managed to seat us even without a booking on a really busy night! Ordered some sharing plates of food and definitely werent left hungry or disappointed! Staff couldn’t have done enough for us despite being really busy, will definitely be back for big sport nights!

35 minutes of waiting at the bar to have an order taken. Not even acknowledged. Busy but plenty staff available. Just terribly managed. Will never be back. Edit: I phoned the number in the reply from Walkabout immediately after it was posted and the call wasn't answered. Maybe if I waited 35 minutes while it rang, who knows.

In to watch the football, and had an amazing time. Place was so busy but the staff tried there best to serve everyone quickly. Really love the atmosphere in here and handy for pavillion theatre too! Can't wait to come back !

Was in tonight and served by Alex and Georgia! Amazing service and recommended drinks for myself and my partner to try. The two of them helped make our night extra special! They are 100% a credit to the team and I will be recommending to all of my friends and family as well as my partners to come here for a night out or something to eat! The two of them definitely deserve a pay rise and played a massive part in our brilliant night out!

Wings were good, but considering all the different sauces on offer there was very little actually on the wings, still tasty though.

Was perfrct to nip into for 1 before seeing a show at the Pavilion which is litrally just accros the road. Saw some food coming out and it looked good. Tables were lovely and clean, atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. We went around 6pm so it wasn't too busy which suited us fine

We frequent here regularly and through time had mixed bag of off nights and decent. Service is there worst quality as regularly slow and even once found self waiting 40mins once at bar for service but last night caught me more as I know fortnight ago I got 2 pints of tennetts (may have been a Friday) for £5 (Great value), I typically drink Peroni or Moretti but last night ordered a Tennetts again and Rekordelig Strawberry and Lime and charge was £11.90 which is around what was already paying for my preferred choice so not sure if staff sometimes just overcharge at their preference (this I suspected once or twice before but it is ideal located for cinema). Just last night seemed excessively overcharged.

Good setting, lots of TVs with sport, huge big screen with football on. Toilets clean and could still hear commentary even in loo. Drinks good though ran out of Guinness. Downsides, lots of dirty tables. Chose the least dirty one to sit down at. Hours later, still no one came to clear up...out of interest looked at the time on the receipt that went alongside the dirty dishes on the table. It was 3 hours ago they ordered and their dishes were still on the table. Some of the food we ordered was cold, could see dirty bits from presumably dirty oil, some food was really good. Staff seemed friendly and chatty. Probably just need a bit more direction and guidance from management re paying more attention to the floor and consistency with food. Won't deter us from trying again.

Shocking service waited 45minutes had to ask staff where food was once prompted recieved soggy burger with some sort of meat on burger wasn't advertised 😕 quite clearly been made previously and left to sit went to complain to see staff and management sitting on the bar having a wee free for all...decided not to approach as I was livid..... this place was dead yet these guys couldn't stack a burger and serve it....service is absolutely diabolical in this place honestly just go for a mcds or a spoons so disappointed won't be back 👎👎

Lots of TVs reasonable sports bar, but most TVs have no sound. No servers to take orders. They bring you the food, but nothing else. Everything is ordered from the bar.

One of the slowest service I have ever experienced. I work in a bar myself and try to be as mindful as possible as I know how much it sucks to get ass customers. But this is shocking it is clear that some staff are not properly trained, walk at speed of a snail, like girl I get you don't wanna be here but please, shout out to Sophie the girl who served me, glasses, black hair, slow.

Had a night out with my friends recently and it was fantastic. Drinks were cheap and the staff were fantastic especially Eidilh!! Definitely will be back.

Popped into walkabout with my friends the other day had a lovely time very cool atmosphere also Jayne was lovely a total asset to the team will be back!!

I had great time when I was in there with my family with great food staff where friendly the service was great and was great friendly door staff especially Willie Davidson who spoke to us on the way in and introduced himself would highly recommend

Me and my parther had a great door staff and security where friendly on entry the food was out of this world and would like to come again

Want a for family meal greated by william davidson who help us with issues with disabillities and he was helpful and polite would recomened to other people and would come again

Was spending the weekend in Glasgow and went to the Walkabout after attending a comedy show round the corner. It had been a hot sunny day and I was wearing knee length black chino shorts and a shirt. On arriving at the bar the bouncer (who was polite enough) informed me I wouldn’t be allowed to enter wearing shorts. When I asked why he confirmed it was company policy albeit he didn’t know why they had that policy. Standing outside I could see the bar was really quiet so I thought they would have welcomed the custom. I could also see a guy in the pub…..in shorts and whilst talking to the bouncer, a couple of girls in cropped tops and skirts half the length of my shorts were allowed in. For info, I was completely sober, not part of a large group and I was just after a couple of drinks before heading back to my hotel. Literally bemused as to why this policy is in place. Can understand the no football colours kind of policy but shorts, in summer? Anyway, their loss as I went here every time I went to Glasgow but won’t ever go again. Shame really as it looked like they needed the custom.

had such a good time here! martha gave the best service. i had to get a kidney transplant and guess who gave me their kidney? martha. my dog died so who gave me their dog? martha. my car broke down so who selflessly gave me their brand new ferrari? martha.

If I could rate as zero I would. Came here for the first time with a friend. Most unhelpful and rude bar staff. Place was quiet and I asked the price of the beers on offer. The response was a tut then backing eyes with a reply of ‘I don’t know, they’re all between 3 and 4 pounds let’s just say that’. When asked for specific prices it was met by a petulant scowl and then another tart response. Not worth the effort having to deal with buffoons who know neither their job nor have a modicum of decorum. Will not be back and I recommend prospective customers to go elsewhere.

Visit with a group of work colleagues following a meal elsewhere. We decided to play pool and grab some drinks. Plenty of pool tables are available at a cost of £11 per hour. Some of the alcoholic beverages were not pleasant being flat and tasteless (both lager and cider)

ordered a triple beef burger, with onion rings topping, waffle fries & a pint of camden hells. Food is tasty, restaurant is spacious, not noisy, and can watch sports. Excellent!!

For 11pm on a Saturday night it was pretty quiet. Maybe because it is summer time. Had a beer and left.

We were a party of 9 women catching up after the loss of our auntie. The way were treated at the end was shocking they sent over security to tell us we have to leave the table just after we had got another round of drinks. We asked what are we meant to do with all these drinks and was told its not their problem we must drink up and move on. The security man on the door shouted at us and told us to F... of and don't come back we had spent a lot of money your customer service was a disgrace the female manager was a disgrace so unprofessional offering no alternative solution. I think they just wanted rid of us because of our ages 😔 at no time where we told we only had two hours or the table was reserved for later. Even when we asked to speak to the manager she came over with security and was really rude we couldn't understand why they couldn't offer a alternative until we finished our drinks. The only solution was putting us out. This was my first time in there and definitely wouldn't ever go back and will make sure my friends and family are told about the shocking treatment we received.

Staff lovely and so accommodating even moving tables for our large party. Fabulous atmosphere couldn’t have been better!!!

Went out to walkabout the other night and was met by the most pleasant young man behind the bar Jack. He served us a lovely pint and made us feel extremely welcome. Will be coming back soon. OUTSTANDING SERVICE.

Great place for cheap pints during the week, cheapest in Glasgow. £2.50 a T. Also got a wide selection of daily sports on all their screens. Kris Taps was there to help me get the most of my night. And helped me install the MIXR app for a free drink

I was speechless with the service i received from kyle and abbie so I've had to type it up lol. The kind nature also paired with witty charm from these two is a true compliment to the great establishment. Kyle with his hip large perm really blew me away and for that reason alone I will be back for another blow out bonanza.

I didn't go to this place yet nor that now I am feeling like. The guy at the main door was so rude and loud unnecessarily. Either he was jealous or being racist as the glee club had a huge queue, but he was unnecessarily shouting at us like we all are school students . My only concern is how can he shout at the audience/guest of another club. Its really sad to see his behaviour last night. I bet he is like that with his staff as well. I hope someone can make him understand that he can be little polite with the people. #LiveAndLetLive
