Wakey Wakey in Lewisham

Sometimes you need a hearty breakfast and so if you're in the area make your way here. Generous portion sizes, excellent coffee and yummy smoothies. As we don't live in the area I can't say that we’ll be back, but if we ever are then we will make a beeline for breakie here!

The breakfast was very nice, good portions but was a bit in the cold side. The tea I had was very tasty and always is when u go. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. There's loads of space when I go. I unfortunately find the inside of the cafe too loud. Always a loud hum. The courtyard is lovely and much more quiet. The decor is really cool.

Despite seeing all the bad reviews my partner and myself decided to give it a go, and I’m glad we did, service was really welcoming and polite, the food was great my only complaint was that the eggs were a little too runny for my liking but that’s just personal preference, all in all I’d highly recommend

Horrendous. Served raw pancakes that they then put in the microwave with raw bacon and burnt hash browns. Waitress wanted me to explain to the chef what was wrong with the food? I got up and asked for a refund and insisted I was given a refund.

We’re local, so I really wanted to love this place. Great covered garden, so was hoping it would be a staple for the summer. The cooked breakfast wasn’t very nice. Over cooked eggs, home made beans that didn’t work. Waiter was more concerned with serving his friends than us, and we didn’t get any tap water disputing asking for it (and frustratingly seeing it given to new diners coming as the sat down, as standard). Some dishes other people were eating looked nice, such as the pancakes, so may give it another go at some point and try something else. However, based on this first experience, we won’t be rushing to do so. It was also very expensive.

The full English breakfast was literally the best I have ever had anywhere. Staff helpful and polite everything you need in a restaurant and to start your morning off

I couldn’t fault this place so glad I ignored the fairly harsh reviews. Had chicken katsu Benedict which was well presented, tasty and a decent portion size along with a nice fresh small salad garnish. Hot chocolate was good too and service was really prompt and this was late morning on a Saturday. Would definitely recommend

They listed gluten free sandwiches on the menu, I ordered and triple checked with the waitress it would be gluten free as I am celiac and watched her write it down. Also asked for no dressing on the salad as it often contains gluten. The sandwich arrived, was really hungry so took a couple of bites and then realised it wasn't gluten free bread. There was also dressing on my salad which I had already avoided. Asked the waitress to check and another member of staff came back to tell me they had made a mistake and it was not gluten free - he was apologetic but it was too late by this point. The waitress had also got my friend's order wrong and the girl who brought the food over didn't even know what she was bringing us - then forgot the rest of the order. The guy who came over also got the drinks order wrong. Nice enough place, but staff were useless - do not eat here if you have a serious food requirement - highly expect the same mistake to be made.

Plus points: dog friendly and good food Minus points: very slow service, two tables who arrived after us got served first (so we had to wait a very long time because it got busy), tables dirty, expensive

I've been here a couple times and each time the service is incredibly slow. The food is not bad but nothing special that would bring me back. It is a shame because this place could be so good if staff just delivered sufficient service.

Looked like a good idea and in the first room we chose the walls still showed how things had been when this was the Coffee and Art cafe. Gentle flow of custom.At one point we moved outside so one of us could smoke. But the service was slow, no urgency from the waitress, the chef rang the bell 3 times, the Eggs Benedict were hard boiled, there were quite a lot of flies and very little urgency. Pity.

Guys... this place is quite literally my favourite cafe ever... first of all the juices are so good and fresh. But the egg royal is literally the most amazing thing ever, it is SO good. I ask for well done eggs with a tiny bit of runny yolk and they always deliver with just that. So good!

Great food, good selection of veggie and vegan options as well as carnivore. Food came out a little cold but could also be and adverse effect of outdoor dinning. Highly recommend!

I had a breakfast sandwich with sausages. The food was hot and delicious. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

We met a friend here on Sunday morning and enjoyed a good breakfast. The food was tasty - I had a smoothie, my friend had bacon and avocado on toast and my partner had the polenta cake. The smoothie was pricey but good. This is more expensive than lots of cafes, but the food is a notch up and the service was good so it's fair value. The coffee tasted great. I hope they do well.

Popped in for a Saturday lunch along with my daughter. We had wraps and drinks. Very tasty and fresh. Staff friendly and attentive. Super find in New Cross. Next time the extensive breakfast options!

This is my favourite place in the area to get coffee. The drinks taste great, the cafe has a great calm vibe, and the staff are very welcoming and kind. Couldn't reccommend enough.
