Nice cafe, doesn’t display prices inside for cakes etc but are on the tables outside. Nice outside seating for a sunny day. Friendly staff, quick service

A lovely cafe but they do have to speed up the service. We were not the only people waiting for our food, the table next to us had been there 5 min before us and their sandwich came after ours but it was the wrong order. Not sure how or why they stay in business

We love the outdoor and indoor service at Montpellier. The indoor is cosy and the outdoor is dog friendly giving a family atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Best place to go for brunch or just a nice chilled tea time with cakes. Our favourite place to go in the village, can’t recommend enough!

Very basic. Pretending not to be. Waitied at the front to be served for ages, and the guy on the till served what felt like his friend before us. Very rude serves. Short and abrupt. Then waited ages for the food. Not the one. Wouldn't recommend. Over priced for what you get.

Arrived on a sunny day for brunch with my friend and waited inside to be served. The owner ignored us for ten minutes before serving a regular ahead of us despite us being at the front of the queue. Once we were served, the owner was short and rude, insisting that I buy a drink with my meal. He then had the audacity to overcharge me for my meal. I won’t be going here again and wouldn’t recommend you do either

Went in today for breakfast.. waited 50 minutes for 2 full English breakfast which seem barbaric.. had to chase this twice. Beans were tasteless.. breakfast was terribly bland. Wouldn’t recommend at all sadly.

Food and coffee is fine. Nice to sit outside. I mark them down because they are too dog-friendly and I would much rather not be near dogs when I’m eating, particularly big ones.

I waited 35 minutes for breakfast on a quiet weekday. They said 10-15 minutes, and i agreed. Maybe they had to grow the ingredients ? If you enjoy endless waits , this is your place. Definitely not worth it

Best English breakfast in Greenwich honestly! Don’t waste your time with the overpriced trends on the high street, Montpeliers serves proper grub (excellent for the day after one too many wines!). Staff are lovely, the outside area is well sheltered and cute come rain or shine and the English breakfast is ace👍🏼.

Great weekend brunch spot. Came with three girl friends and we were delighted by the food and coffee. Highlight recommend the vegetarian breakfast.

A really nice surprise. We had paninis and coffees and they were delicious. Food is fresh and tasty, definitely worth the money. I recommend this place and I will come back for sure.

I went today with my 3 years old Daughter and my 6 month old baby. I ordered two drinks one for me and my daughter. The owner was the one who took our order and clearly saw that my daughter chose hot chocolate. When the drinks came, the hot chocolate was boiling hot in a big mug not suitable for a 3 years old, while I was calming my 6 months old my daughter took a sip and burnt her mouth and started crying none stop. No one came to help me out or even apologised for serving me a hug mug of extra hot chocolate for a three years old. I would like to thank the ladies who kept an eye on my 6 months old whilst I was calming my 3 years old who started vomiting I wasn’t offered no refund nothing, only in the end one of the staff offered a tiny cup of ice-cream. I didn’t enjoy my brunch and end up going home to change my daughters clothes and my clothes as they were full of vomit. I had to ask for a refund of the hot chocolate. Not pleased at all, my daughter is still in pain. Staff were passing by without offering any help! I can’t believe I had to experience this

£11.95 for a stone cold breakfast is ridiculous. They also forgot the tea I ordered. Wanted to try this place for ages but won’t be going back

I’m Shocked and horrified by what I experienced in this place I came in and asked if dogs were allowed and I was greeted by a man who said it was fine which then without asking me produced some dog treats then proceeded to give my big breed dog who is reactive a treat of which I protested as he nervous then the man then dropped the treat on the floor and then my dog ate it which then as my dog got up the man then hit !!! my dog on the nose for taking it !!!!!! I’m very very upset by this and I will never ever go in there again it’s absolutely disgusting behaviour especially as my dog is super nervous anyway !!! Needless to say I gave the man a piece of my mind and walked out !!!!!! Awful behaviour !!! Anyone who reads this do not go there !!!

The waitress got the food order wrong twice. The wrong tea order arrived. After waiting 40 minutes for the breakfast I was told they had lost the order and nothing had been cooked. There are only a handful of tables in the cafe. The waitress who served me could see my table and the food preparation area is just two feet behind the till. The apology was half hearted from another staff member and the waitress who messed up didn't say a word but just stared at me and then turned her back. No attempt was made to even cook the meal so I requested and was given a refund. Not surprisingly, I won't be back.

The best English breakfast in London - amazing sausage, bacon and eggs. All from local suppliers. They also have gluten and lactose free which was useful as my brother needed that. Friendly staff and also have delicious cakes.

Took my son (3years old)out for breakfast which landed up being a complete rip off. The quality of food and ingredients were so disappointing,bland and below average for the price.I could have gone to the Ivy next door and recieved much better service and amazing food for the same price I paid.

Pretty disappointed with Montpeliers tbh. Overpriced coffee that in my opinion wasn’t very good. The cakes looked pretty good though! Didn’t think some of the staff were particularly friendly either 🥺

Been here a couple of times now and food and service has been faultless - best sausage sandwich I've had anywhere :). Very dog friendly too. Will definitely be back soon

Has to be the best breakfast in the whole of London. Sausages are really meaty and from a local butcher, bacon is dry cured and eggs are all free range. You can really taste the difference!!

Older cafe full of character which needs some tlc to make it nicer imo Chef was missing so only sandwiches made by manager. Great coffee tasty sausages a bit greasy. Nice terrace for afternoon

Had to wait 45 mins for food that unfortunately dissapointed! I was told it would take 15 mins to receive our order because of the full English breakfast ordered along with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast, which I accepted as a decent waiting time when you know you'll get a good quality food. However it actually took 45mins to receive our order but the quality was average. The scrambled eggs were tasteless, probably cooked in microwave and the smoked salmon had a very strong bitter aftertaste, a very poor quality smoked salmon, which is a shame considering the price charged for it.

It used to be good. Don't order the scrambled egg.

Absolute dump how this place has not been shut down is beyond me, the food is discusting and over priced the sausages are under cooked and stone cold by the time you get them. I believe all the food here is pre cooked and put in a microwave when you order it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS DUMP

I am a regular there, and I love their coffee. I love coffee and tea.

We had lunch outside, food was great, and had fast and friendly service.

I do not understand why this place is only rated 3.8. Just had breakfast and it was really good, top quality sausages nicely fried, lightly charred outside juicy inside, good quality toast, they have a nice terrace outside.

I ordered a vegetarian breakfast and my friend ordered a sausage sandwich, we were given our tea promptly but our tea was long gone by the time our breakfast arrived. We waited over 45 minutes!!!! I was way too hungry to enjoy my food when it finally arrived and very little apologies from the staff, it was just a like or lump it attitude - not good enough in my opinion

Date of visit: 11th November 2022. Popped in at lunchtime to order two sandwiches and two slices of cake, to take away. It took them FORTY MINUTES to make this, while a stof by the counter. The two slices of cake were already behind the counter. No apology offered for the wait, nothing. Absolutely abysmal service. Never again.

Waited 45 minutes for breakfast (eggs and avocado on toast and salmon and eggs on toast) which never arrived despite repeatedly being told it was coming. The place wasn’t even full. In the end we asked for our money back and left

Disorganised service and curt owner. Coffee is very nice but the wait for food is very long: perhaps reduce your menu to accommodate the weekend foot traffic.

Scrambled eggs are made in the microwave, hygiene rating is awful which is the be expected as the shop displays a rating from 5 years ago. Furthermore, during my visit the manager was rather rude to customers and staff. I saw the kitchen when no one was looking and when you look at the quality of food they use, the price is disgraceful. They have bacon on tubs right next to dirty played

Friendly staff and a great terrace to have a coffee with a view

I would give it 0 stars if I could - absolutely awful place. Food was OK'ish for the price, but customer service - worst I have ever experienced in ages. It took over 20 mins to serve coffee and over an hour to cook a serve simple 2 meals. But this is not the worst part. Worst part if pointed out on the timing issue - coffee staff just simply said that we need to be patient. No apologies for the extremely slow service, nothing, it is apparently absolutely fine to serve the meal 1 hour after ordering in this place. I have to say this advise make sense - next time we will be patient and check rating and read reviews about this place to not to make mistake again and spend even a penny there.

A disguised homely English café with a Frenchified title offers good value and friendly service with a pleasant outdoor arrangement looking towards the Heath. Also the veg and gluten-free cake options deserve a mention and the portion be unlikely to disappoint.

Lovely coffee half way round our cycle

What a beautiful spot to sit in the sun ( or shade under a parasol) on a nice Sunday morning. But hey, what a service and food one gets served. I would not blame the lovely students who have no clue, rather the their Boss who works with them without having any idea. Customer will clear the table themselves. Rule number one in hospitality… never go empty handed, plan ahead, train your staff. Maybe all of that is irrelevant as Blackheath is busy anyway and most customers don’t mind.

Really lovely little coffee shop in Blackheath Village. Sells a lovely range of sandwiches and cakes and gorgeous Soup with toast. Really friendly staff who can't do enough for you. Cant wait to be able to sit outside and watch the world go by.

A wonderful cafe and very friendly staff. I only wanted to charge my phone as I was running the London Marathon starting at Greenwich Park, and needed my phone fully charged, that extra 2% charge came in very handy! Thanks again!

Went there last weekend and had english breakfast for myself and my wife. Every single element on the plate was cheap and tasteless, no saving grace's. It's a real pity because I liked the interior and location which is why it gets 2 stars but because of the breakfast, I will never go back now.

1 stars for the location. Food would be 0 stars. Full English toast was dry with no butter. Sausages were like warm and looked barely cooked. Scrambled eggs had 0 flavour. Mushrooms were the worst soggy flavourless while rubbery at the same time. I've never had such a bad english breakfast. I dont usually review but I really had to. I've tried to finish it as I dont want to waste it but every bite had to have beans. I write this review in hope that you will improve the good quality. On a side note the tea and coffee were excellent.

Nice spot and great vintage atmosphere. Had no cutlery offered with my food. Coffee was not hot enough. Would be nice to have staff greet you with a smile and a good morning.

Decent food and venue. Better options nearby both in venue and menu on offer. The traditional British breakfast is sizeable and is good value for money. The service was decent although I think this place has unrealised potential. Perhaps shrink the menu and focus more? They do several things - lunch/breakfast/coffee/snacks but don't do any of them particularly well

Pretty decent cafe with variable levels of service and fairly unchanging, unimaginative but acceptable menu. However, sat in the window seats today (13/01/2019) and the experience was totally marred by the presence, in the adjacent seat, of a snoring, sleeping waitress hunched over the shelf, wearing, ironically I assume, a t-shirt with the legend ‘So, how did I do?’. Well, to be honest honey, not that well. Seriously, how could any manager sanction this? Really not a good look. Must try harder......

This small cafe has a good choice of food on the menu. I had the egg mayo salad sandwich with salad, which was really good. Price was fine and it was not overly busy at lunchtime. This cafe is a nice little oasis of calm in the business day. Service was excellent and facilities are up to scratch. There are list of choices food-wise in Blackheath but Montpeliers’ didn’t let us down.

I went there today with my nephew. We had bought food from the app Too Good To Go. The place is meant to close at 17:00 today. We got there it was 16:46 and the lights were out. We couldn't collect our order. What a desapointment! You should decide on your opening hours and stick to it?

Average cafe, high turnover of staff who seem to all be under 18 and spend a lot of time chatting to each other rather than serving customers, many better options in Blackheath

Went for breakfast and wasn’t blown away. Salmon was ice cold and scrambled eggs were runny. Won’t bother going back. Has a good view of The Heath and a great sun-trap in the summer. Staff were a bit off too..
