Almorcé con un amigo en esta sucursal. La comida estaba bien, menos la hormiga en la mesa, pero era solo una para poder perdonarla. El camarero fue muy amable, pero fue una especie de bofetada - tablero. Nos señaló la mesa, en lugar de llevarnos a ella. . . . Interesante. . . El piso tampoco era el más limpio. Una vez que llegó la comida, el camarero pensó que era una buena idea colocar el recipiente para los condimentos, con las salsas, sal y pimienta, etc. en el piso, ya que no podía molestarse en encontrar un lugar en la mesa. ¡Eso fue lo primero para mí! ! La jirafa normalmente es un buen lugar para comer, pero no volveré corriendo a esta sucursal en Blackheath.

He desayunado en esta jirafa en particular varias veces. El personal es bastante agradable y la zona de asientos del restaurante está limpia y ordenada. La pila de panqueques es lo que mi amigo y yo tendemos a pedir para el desayuno. Las tortitas son tan sabrosas y abundantes, el jarabe complementa las tortitas y no es demasiado dulce. También pedimos huevos revueltos como un lado. Los huevos también son bastante sabrosos. Los baños están en la planta baja, lo que puede ser un poco incómodo también en cada ocasión que visito y uso el baño, hay un olor a pañales sucios que no es muy agradable.

Visited for first time this morning. Had breakfast and coffee. Friendly greeting from staff, food arrived promptly and was great. Had a look at lunch and dinner menus and will definitely visit again.

We have been there for a friend meeting. They have good selection in the menu with different type of foods from all over the world. Service was quite good and foods was really delicious.

Stopped in for lunch, varied menu settled for the deal of 5 tapas for myself and daughter, plenty of food served up by courteous and attentive lovely staff.

We always dine at Giraffe, Leeds Trinity when in the City, food always excellent. When we dined there yesterday we were pestered by midges, yes in November! They kept appearing after we killed them. My husband queried it with Heinrich the lovely Waiter who said it was an ongoing problem as the Trinity Shopping Centre has major problems with the drainage system and at nighttime they have to block the drains with tissues to stop them coming in! Surely H & S at Leeds City Council should look into this health risk problem as surely other eateries are affected?

It was a last minute decision to have dinner at this restaurant and was first choice for our daughter, as always we were greeted by the friendly staff and shown to our seats by the front door but it is very clear that this restaurant is in need of a deep clean. The fabric covering the chairs and bench seats are very badly stained with dried in food. All the menus we were given were covered in food stains and dried ketchup. Had to return classes and cutlery as they were also dirty. We tried to use the 2 for 1 voucher but found it had not been removed from our bill, took the duty manager a couple of minutes to work that out.

My friend and I visited giraffe on Saturday 20 October. I had a voucher, buy one main course, get one free, which I showed to our waiter when we were seated just to confirm it was valid, which it was. When it came to paying, the voucher code was not applied, and we didn’t notice until the bill had been paid, so we ended up paying the full amount. We told our waiter what had happened and asked for the amount to be refunded. We were told it wasn’t possible as the table had been closed?... the waiter took our details, ie name, phone number and was assured the manager would phone the next day. Today is Wednesday and still no phone call. The food was good as was the service but we are very disappointed by the customer relations. So I would not return...☹️

Didn’t have enough glasses to serve us fizz in flutes, took ages to sort food which came at different times (for a table of two), gave us the bill without us asking (which had mistakes and overcharges on which had to be corrected twice), with really rude service. Such a disappointment. Much better local restaurants within a one minute walk of this place - save yourselves a rubbish night and go to one of those instead.

Hi, I came alone to the restaurant on Tuesday! Nicholas was my waiter and recommended a lovely vegetarian burger with delicious sweet potato fries. The service was great and the experience enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Even for a chain restaurant this one totally failed this evening. Given the choice in the area, I blame myself for taking the chance on it. Slow, disinterested service and poor food. Salt and pepper squid to start - fresh from a packet in the freezer I guess and not sure where the salt and pepper seasoning went. ‘Ultimate burger’ to follow served in a cold bun straight from the chiller and cold undercooked fries on the side. Avoid.

The place was really comfy and well looking. You can choose from a lot of things in the menu, both saulty and sweet. We went with the gold syrup and bacon pancakes that were amazing, and so was the marshmallow hot chocolate! They have churros too!!!

Great menu, great food, great service. We ate here before seeing a show. Everyone in the group loved the food.

If you are in a hurry don’t order a steak here!!! Besides it was not really good.... I waited 50 minutes! Got a free beer though!!

A visitar en este viernes por la tarde, me sorprendió gratamente, nunca había visitado esta cadena antes y tengo que decir que había una buena variedad de opciones de comida en el menú y la comida de los niños estaban bien servida y a un precio razonable.

Carte banale, salade verte pas des plus fraîches, restaurant assez spacieux et, heureusement, ni trop bruyant ni trop cher. Pour quand on a la flemme d'aller chercher plus loin ou qu'on a des enfants, peut-être (il y en avait un ou deux ce soir là)... Service sympathique et attentif (normal, quoi).

Poor service, food substandard, and adds gratutity to your bill without informing you. Chav style decor with walls made of builders chipboard painted orange. My seating was on a second level and two seats backed onto an unsafe drop which had no railing. Not a position I would want to have an elderly or disabled customer to take. Just unsafe. Informed the company of the gratutity issue and the need for railing; but, their reply was basically just suck it up - we don't care what a customer thinks. There are too many better restaurants on the same block to attend this place again. As for the food, the restaurant suffers from trying to make a worldly selection, but fails to make it work. Thus, it just ranks to the height of cafeteria food at the hospital- nothing special. The Pizza Express next door does a much better job and does not add gratutity to your bill without telling you..

Bumped into Giraffe for the first time on Friday evening and I absolutely loved it. Welcoming was probably one of the warmest I have experienced in a while, Martina, who I believe was running the show there, made our experience memorable.

Good breakfast options. Our server Mihai was happy to pass additional requirements to kitchen such as small substitutions and specific way to fry eggs. Overall happy with the service and food.

I am gluten free through bad luck and vegetarian through choice and was treated incredibly well by our waiter Mihai. He looked after us and made our stay very pleasant (and helpful with meal selection). Will come again! Thank you

Service is not good. They are not friendly. Food is average. We did not enjoy the meals. Though the ambiance is good, we expect a more friendly environment and better service from Giraffe restaurant.

Had a wonderful meal paired with wine at this lovely spot. The food was very flavorful and delicious. The location is also perfect, and I enjoyed sitting on the patio. Shout out to Mihai! He provided wonderful service and made excellent suggestions for dinner. He really made the meal a memorable experience!

I've been there several times, definitely, my favourite bar in Blackheath area, nice healthy food, great value and warmer staff ever there, especially Martina with her smile, attention in details and her knowledge on drinks make my visits always a pleasure, rest of the staff...

Giraffe is one of our go to places for family lunch out. Healthy enough for me, international enough for my younger daughter and burger and chips enough for the older one. I don’t think their cocktails are up to much but the smoothies are great....

I went there for lunch today. The service was 5 star, the staff were so friendly and approachable. The food was tasty and obviously freshly cooked. I had the chicken burger which was delicious and will have again on my next visit. Desserts were yum...

Shocked that it was £2.50 for a class of cola, (filled with ice, not sure how much cola in it!) I drank tap water. The vege brunch was £8.95 - same price as the meat "big brunch" and for what I got was WAY overpriced,...

Myself and my family went to lunch here on a Sunday afternoon fir my partners birthday. The restaurant is in need of a refurb the seats were disgusting covered in black marks and very tatty.

This was my first time eating in a Giraffe and is likely to be my last - it comes across as a VERY cynical attempt by Boparan Holdings to carve a niche into the market, but fails miserably.

As the title suggests, this restaurant is in an accessible location in beautiful Blackheath but I'm quiet disappointed by the vegetarian brunch. As is the case with many restaurants in London, vegetarian breakfasts are only marginally cheaper than the full English option, which doesn't make sense considering what you actually get and in the case of this restaurant, what I got wasn't very much. As can be seen in the picture, the vegetarian breakfast was compromised of 2 x TINY slices of avocado and two relatively small mushrooms. The fritters were nice but as can be seen in the picture this breakfast doesn't justify the £9 price tag.

Disgusting. Smashed avocado is not smashed if it’s just cut up. The avocado was not ripe in the slightest. Horrible hard bread that does not taste good.

Been to various Giraffes about five times. The kids like the eclectic mix of food, when it is available. The key word being availability! We are yet to visit and the whole menu be available. Last time there were no burgers, ribs, fries and chocolate brownies. Other times a similar range of items were missing. The supply chain and ordering process is clearly a problem. Worst restaurant for it. SORT IT OUT GIRAFFE!

Kids eat free here so if you are looking for a place to sit and relax in a peaceful environment this is probably not it. We shared a salad and each had the hamburger which was well done and dry. They told us they cook them well done and they were. Not done well but overcooked. Chips were nice and crispy. We won't return

Absolutely loved the variety of food We tried tapas which was lovely.i then had Thai duck stir fry and hubby had the steak which were cooked to perfection.staff were lovely and friendly ,even though we have no small children with us ,as we left that children are very welcome which is always nice to know she asked us also where we would like to be seated which was perfect as it was our wedding anniversary so opted for a quiet corner

Bit of a shame we only needed something quick as I really liked the look of all the variety on the menu. We opted for the tea time deal of burger and bottomless soda but as we were peckish we ordered some garlic bread to have while we waited. The bread was a flat bread and was very flavourful but not over powering. Just the right amount to share. The staff were very friendly and knew we didn't have time to hang about and were very on the ball. Our burgers were delicious and well presented. I couldn't fine anything to fault. I would like to go back for an evening meal so I could try out the menu better.

What can I say, typical chain restaurant, nothing to get excited about the only reason for going back would be if I had left my coat there! Food was okay, service okay, what does beat me though is just why these places put service charge on as standard, what other industry imposes this on customers as standard practice?

Call for brunch its really tasty and different. I had the vegetarian one and it was lovely. It was nice to sit outside in the sunshine. The staff were most helpful. Really enjoyed it thank you, will be back.

Decided to try Giraffe for breakfast. Not dissapointed! Was lovely. Had the Big Brunch and reqlly enjoyed it. Cleared my plate. It would be 5 stars if the coffee had been hot :)

It was just us, infact they let us in early and gave us tea and coffee as they open official at 8amI went for the Avocado, tomatoes and soda bread with chillies and a poached egg it was delicious, my friend went for the stack of pancakes and believe you me it was a stack I didn't think that she could finish it but she did. All I wanted to do when I finish my healthy breakfast was curl up back into bed.What a way to start the day!!!!!!!!!!

I visit various branches of Giraffe, from time to time & am happy to recommend it. However, I found the service very slow at lunch time today, despite the restaurant being quiet, with only 4 other tables occupied. My waitress seemed to keep vanishing! Hopefully, they were just having a bad day ...

We had breakfast here on Sunday morning with some visiting family members. The restaurant is bright and clean, the service was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, a real range of breakfast and brunch dishes on offer, including some you don't see in other places.

We ate their last week: we being me, son, hubby, brother in law. Without any explanation, our son's dinner came out 15 mins, before mine which came out 15-20 mins before husband and brother in law. We had to chase repeatedly. Manager woefully poor and disinterested Very shabby. Avoid!

I stopped off here with my dad for a drink yesterday. We were told we couldn't sit inside as it was fully booked (it was empty). We waited 15 minutes before someone took our order and another 20 minutes before it arrived. It was a glass of milk and a cup of tea. When it arrived, the glass of milk had green bits on the inside and clearly hadn't been washed properly. I took it inside to show them and asked for the bill as we needed to leave. They apologized about the milk, but when the bill came (another 10 minutes later) it had the milk on it. I told the waitress that we shouldn't have to pay for the milk but she wandering off with the bill and started serving someone else. I asked her for the bill back so we could just pay it and leave, and she snapped at me. Eventually I spoke to the manager and she apologized but it was a horrible experience when all we wanted was a quick drink!

Beautiful sunny day so we sat outside, never been to a Giraffe restaurant before and was surprised at the varity of the menu.Very good food and the service was excellent. I had lamb tagine and mum had a burger. The manager served us and was very helpful and friendly. Would recommend for a relaxing lunch.

I have been to this particular Giraffe on about 4-5 ocassions. The first few times were perfect I couldn't ask for more. However I recently went twice in one week for two events. On the first ocassion I went with my partner and the food and service was exceptional (see photos). Giraffe does a range of meals from around the world so there's something on the menu for everyone. Unfortunately I went back a few days later with some friends and the food was ok but the service was disappointing. It wasn't the friendly and professional yet amiable experiences I'd previously had. The waitress was blunt, rude, clumsy and not very attentive. The food was mediocre, however as I've had the dish before and enjoyed it, I wasn't sure if the poor experience from the waitress had just put a bitter taste in my mouth. Luckily for me I had previously had positive experiences at Giraffe but if this was my first experience I'd not go back, and so I can understand the negative reviews if they have not had positive experiences here before. The only reason I'll go back is because I'm hoping this most recent trip was just a bad day for them and that they'll be back to their usual great service the next time.

Stopped here for a quick lunch with my sister. There is a big variety of things on the menu. The serving staff were rushing around quite a lot, and there were too many children/babies in there for my liking; I felt like I was in a creche a lot of the time. But the food arrived quickly and my huevos rancheros arrived promptly and tasted good. The prices were a bit steeper than I expected, but I suppose that's to do with the location. Does the job.

First of all the food was fine, so thank you kitchen staff ! You made this review an average instead of poor.... Unfortunately I cannot say the same about front of house, So obviously very impatient as the ladies browsed and inquired about the cocktails, Side dishes had to be asked for as they were sitting on the pass for a while, and the place wasn't even busy, and then the pavement furniture was dragged in at 9.00pm 3 requests for dessert menu. I know catering staff are not the best paid, but pleasantness costs nothing. I would have withheld the service charge but did not want to cause any embarrassment to our friends that we had invited to this place. So food OK .. Service bad

Me and my girlfriend visited this Valentine's Day. We had a booking. Upon arrival it took five minutes before we were attended to and seated; evident staff shortage.We were initially directed to a table which was awfully close to another seated couple. Not wanting to speak to neighbouring strangers, we quickly asked to be moved.We had the burger, which is deemed as Giraffe's forte. The food kept both me and my girlfriend awake for hours, we can only think it must've been the food.Not a pleasurable experience.

I have had the pleasure of having breakfast and brunch here quite regularily. What can I say ..... the food is always First Class the service surpasses any service I've received in any of the other local restaurants. The staff are incredibly friendly, courteous and very professional it shows that they enjoy their job. To finish I was extremely impressed today as I visited with friends and had made the fatal mistake of not booking, I was quite devasted that I was going to have to venture somewhere else when the Manageress on duty informed us that we would be able to sit in five minutes due to a table becoming free. I don't actually think either my daughter or myself will consider anywhere else for breakfast !!! Great job to Giraffe and all their wonderful staff

Food is ok..and that's about the best you can say for it..it's also pricy for what it is. However the service was very friendly and considerate of little ones..also nice to see a changing board in the men's look..well done Giraffe..I'd have scored higher based on customer service food really isn't all that good.

I went at the Giraffe for a dinner, and my experience is overall very positive. I told the waiter that I wanted the vegan options, and she has been helpful and understanding, double-checking the ingredients of the meals I was having and suggesting options. I cannot say that there were many vegan options, though I had a lovely curry and a nice soy-milk hot chocolate. Recommended!

Such a lovely surprise to find a child-friendly venue with great food and exceptional staff in a price range anyone can afford and in the middle of beautifulBlackHeath village. Thanks so much to Herminia for the energy and enthusiasm with which she served us and our parties 3 young children. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food tasty and the service exemplary. Herminia is a credit to the business and its refreshing for somewhere to have a great children's menu with healthy options (in addition to the standards)! I went here last night in a group of 9 people and the service was very good. Very welcoming staff, The restaurant was family friendly and there were high chairs etc. I thought the staff were very good with the children. It had good food in large portions but it was limited for vegatarian. I however did find something to eat. I liked the presentation of the food and it was hot. The toilets downstairs catered for babies but the water was not hot so that was not so good . It was well situated and I would consider it again.

First trip to Giraffe and was pleasantly surprised. Kids all found something they liked: a combination of tacos, duck balls and prawns for starters followed by ribs, curry and Katsu chicken finished with passion fruit cheesecake, chocolate brownie and churros. Tasty, easy, eclectic food and reasonable value. Will try it again.

Just home from a trip to Giraffe. Previous visit had been 12 months ago, when we were not given special menu, had to ask for it, ordered from it, and were half way through drinks when told all items were off and we had to order from full price menu. A bad experience, but 12 months on, tried again. Here's what happened...- A-Boards advertising £15.95 for 3 courses special menu outside, clearly- We weren't given special offer menus (again) when seated, and specifically had to ask - is this a policy, or a Blackheath "policy"? Twice in a row...?- We each ordered starters and mains, tapwater, and a drink- Drink did not arrive and had to be asked for again- Starters came. Still no drink. Asked again.- One main then turned up immediately with starters. Surprise was expressed that we hadn't in fact ordered one main to come with the starters. Sent back. Drink requested for a third time.- Drink arrived. Hooray! More tapwater requested- Mains arrived. Both hot and quite good, actually. No tapwater, requested again.- Water arrived. Were given dessert menus - fine, but again, these were not from the special set menu, but general ones. Interesting...felt like an opportunity to try and charge more.- Declined desserts and asked for bill- Horrified to see that a 12.5% service charge had been added, despite all the issues. However, we were both tired, so decided just to pay, not quibble- Bill paid in full (including unacceptable service charge) by one party on card, who then went to loo- I waited 2 minutes then got up to leave- Waitress came over and tole me there was a problem with the bill, and my friend hadn't paid for all our food!!!- On her screen, she showed me the "order" for our table, which included not only the £35 of food we had ordered, eaten and paid for, but another circa £50 of food nothing to do with us- Clearly the insinuation was that we had left without paying for around £50 of food! How embarrassing and insulting!- Immediately asked for the manager. Did little to help the situation. She acknowledged immediately that the accusation was untrue and the error was down to a member of staff putting other peoples food on our table. - She tried to offer a free dessert, but we both felt annoyed, ashamed and had no desire to stay at this place and wanted to leave- I expressed deep concern and dissatisfaction about being charged for service and asked for this money back. There was a lot of faffing about but no money forthcoming.- We just wanted to end the sorry experience and leave - so we did.I certainly won't ever return, but I'd love to hear a response to these issues from a senior, head office manager at Giraffe. Shocking policy, service, mismanagement, training and customer handling.

I had to push back my food as it was not cooked proper and my other half left half of his food despite him being hungry. They are trying to cater many dishes from the Globe but none are done well to be honest. Pricey for what they are. Not many choice of restaurant in Blackheath, so not much conpetition, that is the problem here.

Visited this evening with partner and our child. Bill came to £50 which seemed pretty steep! Burgers were tasty. Children's meal came before our food which was great, gave the little one more time to eat. Staff very attentive and friendly!

We had booked two tables for for 11 but somehow staff ended up with our tables on different levels. Not much use for a family meal. The food was presentable, and the waiters were attentive. We didn't feel rushed or hurried even though it was a busy day.If not for the booking error, I might have given it a 4.

I've always said it's the people that makes or breaks the dining experience. Ricco the Canadian knows what time it is. Will miss him dearly if he ever leaves: we are fans of giraffe and Ricco just keeps us coming back for more. It's a shame the management will probably not take this on board. Great staff make an establishment!

Lots of choice both for the healthy diner or the diner who likes a few treats too! Good atmosphere and pleasant surroundings. The staff were also pleasant and helpful.

I must admit I do enjoy the breakfast/brunches at the Giraffe chains. This time round I took some friends for a late Sunday lunch. My heart sank when I saw a restaurant full of family's with young children, I really thought that this was going to ruin our experience. Thankfully I was wrong, and we were treated to a chilled out environment despite the amount of infants running around. The service was friendly and prompt with a twist of cheeky humour. Food was good, not hair raising but certainly worth the value. The fire cracker chicken I thought was the best dish on the menu. In future I think I will stick to the brunch.

Second visit to this great eatery in Blackheath. Service is always top notch, management is on the ball and atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

Just feel the menu is too mixed and there is to much pre-prepared food, as I have never felt it is good value! rather cramped as well and there are better places to go in Blackheath!

I booked to take my team here for our Christmas lunch. The process was rather confusing as after booking online I was advised someone would call to take a deposit. After calling myself and emailing on a number of occasions I was finally able to pay this.The table we were given was in direct sunlight which made it impossible for half the table to see. Upon being moved we found the same problem so decided to stay put. Investing in blinds would be a suggestion!Disappointed on arrival the table was in no way decorated for Christmas. On the basis we had paid a deposit and booked the Christmas menu a cracker might have been a festive gesture we would have appreciated.Order given a week previously with specific instructions given for one diner and followed by an email confirming this request but food was not altered to suit and this diner had to wait whilst we almost finished our meal before her's arrived.That said the quirky Christmas menu was tasty and the staff were friendly. The Christmas pudding didn't quite live up to its menu pic but was enjoyable. Given a free coffee to go which was appreciated.Watch for the 12.5% gratuity added onto bill automatically.We would go back but maybe on a regular Saturday for lunch not for a special occasion.

Called in for a quick lunch. Had the meals from the Love Eat Live menu all dishes are priced at £6.95. Food was tasty and the service was good. Hope this is representative of the main menu. Service was equally as good without any long waits.

This being a Monday the restaurant was quite quiet. I had the Mezze Plate to start, followed by the Giraffe Burger for main. Both good. To drink a chardonnay. Well two in fact (I'd had a busy weekend at work!). Service was polite and friendly. Thank you Greta. And to the manager was on the ball and welcomed us when we arrived. Worth a try.
