I live in the area and have never been here before, I don't know why? Today I decided to come in and it's a wonderful place and I was surprised by the variety and vegan stuff for my friends! It's a great place. I'll try to come Monday to Friday which I guess will be quieter.

Outstanding entertainment at last nights open mic and exquisite pizza. Only in Italy have I tasted such good pizza. Especially since they managed the gluten free version without compromising taste. A lovely atmosphere. Wonderfully supportive audience and the band were on fire 🔥

We went there for breakfast on a Friday morning, the food was great, very tasty and came in quite quick, but the music was a little bit too loud for 9am. People are coming there to work, after school runs for w coffee, etc, so it's already loud enough anyway, so I'd prefer if you could hear the music humming somewhere at the back instead blasting noise.

This is such a local gem we’re lucky to have such a relaxed and friendly place on our doorstep. Good for a coffee and cake in the day and in the evening a pizza restaurant. Local artwork, bands and dogs and child friendly. Plenty of vegan cake options too . Lots of space inside and a leafy deck out. Plus right between the telegraph hill parks.

It’s a really good place for socialising and working. The only thing I would say is that indoors customers mainly come with laptops to work, and unfortunately there is really loud distracting music that suits a bar/club which is not what the indoors part of the cafe is mainly used for on an average day. I understand if it was on in the evening at that volume but it’s on during the day as well. Perhaps just a little quieter or a different genre of music that feels less like you’re out at a club?

Just discovered this place today and loved it! Despite a few beers not being on, the available ones were great. Tricky frothy taps but bar staff persevered. Fab pizzas and bigger than expected. Great place to come work from a laptop: lots of seating indoors and outdoors, some available plugs for charging, calm music. I'd happily come back here for these reasons, otherwise pretty disappointed by the service and lack of food options. Arrived shortly after 3pm and tried to order a sandwich only to be told the kitchen was closed. Seems a bit early, doesn't it? I'm also only asking for a sandwich, not a cooked meal or anything. Ended up settling for a slice of cake instead, which wasn't ideal really. Also the misery! The two people I interacted with seemed annoyed by the prospect of having to deal with a customer. When I asked about the cakes, the woman behind the counter spoke so quietly that I could barely hear her and seemed irritated to be taking my order, avoiding speaking to me as much as possible. Pretty weird and unpleasant to have to deal with. She also spent the majority of her time staying away from the till, using her phone instead. Oddly cold and unfriendly service, which contrasts with the otherwise nice atmosphere of the place. They need to train their staff as well as offer food that isn't limited to cake only outside of certain hours. Pity because this place is otherwise lovely.

The cafe is a lovely place with plenty of outdoor seating and a small indoor performance space. This month they are organising a festival in addition to the many events they already put on, so there will be around 20-25 events happening, mostly free. There are many vegan pastry options available, like the vegan banana bread I had. Standard drinks and a decent food menu. The Hill Trader section of the shop looks like an area to buy locally handmade goods, but sometimes the lights are off as if it's closed.

The space is nice enough and the food isn't actively terrible, although it is overpriced for what it is (and cold). By far the worst thing, though, is the service. The staff are, frankly, rude. They avoid eye contact when they dump the food on the table, and glare at you if you ask them for even the most reasonable requests (I had the gall to ask for salt and pepper). It just adds up to a really unpleasant atmosphere. Avoid it.

Visited early at opening time during the heatwave. A male staff member was putting out the rubbish bins and then afterwards opening the doors with apparent difficulties. When the counter was manned, I asked for a coffee for myself and a sausage roll for my 3yr old. These were stored pre wrapped in an open basket container on the counter top. I saw no chill cabinet. The sausage roll was supplied by the lady staff member and arrived warm to a barely tepid level of less than 45° open and in a cardboard tray. The young man then proceeded to serve my coffee. At no point did he leave my sight between his evident arrival and rubbish disposal, nor did he ever wash his hands. The tables we tried were sticky and some still had crumbs from previous diners. At checkout, was a display of cloth bags for sale at child height, the front one emblazoned with a slogan including the word F*ck. I paid reluctantly as I did not wish to upset my 3 yr old who was awaiting the sausage roll and left both the coffee and dumped the sausage roll in the nearest bin.

A lovely little location for a late breakfast after a Sunday jaunt. If it is as some reviews suggest the product of a community Kickstarter project (which we must assume to be true, for what little benefit the lie would have? ) it's a testoment to something far greater than the sum of its parts. Five stars?! Certainly! Disregard neigh sayers and grumblers' complaints of raucous music, or tardy opening times. However tasteless thier tomatoes, however halfhearted the hallumi (they aren't for the record, I found it an entirely pleasent, and palatable experience, and happen to consider 4 non Blondes hit "what's up" a time tested classic.) this colorful little corner of bohemia is something to be treasured. A space for community to come together, and a tasty space at that.
