4 staff members crowded around a coffee machine ignoring customers queuing? Also we sat outside. The plane s are either dead or dying surrounded by weeds!! So sad to see.

We stopped for a full English breakfast after a long journey. The sausages weren't the best quality, it included streaky bacon rather than back, and there was no hash browns, toast or black pudding included in the 'Full English' but it was cooked to order, hot and tasty. At just under £9.00 per breakfast, we felt it was good value.

Thought we would have a nice lunch twice here and both times they have no stock of any hot lunch items. Thought after the first time it would be a 1 off however nothing available on the second try. Extremely disappointing!

Easily the worst breakfast in town I'm afraid. I had a full English with a friend egg that was so underdone it was inedible. Partner had poached eggs that were overdone. Stringy bacon. Really disappointed as it's not cheap.

On the menu it offered, full English breakfast, under this was , vegetarian breakfast, which i ordered. Eventualy it was ready, i expected veggy version of English listed above it. Half an avocado, 1 egg on wilted spinache and haloumi cheese with sweet chili sauce, yuk!!!! got 2 toast orders instead of one, never again will i eat in there.

I have been disappointed with this cafe before but as it is Waitrose, you live in hope that they will get their act together. In spite of the lunch hour it was almost empty. A cold blast went through the cafe every time the door opened. Soul less and lacking in atmosphere. That’s the good bit of the feedback. My husband wanted lunch. ‘You know what I like’. Cod and chips? ‘Sorry’ Burger? ‘Sorry’ . Half the menu was not available. In desperation I went for ‘chunky’ fish finger ‘sandwich’. Now, I am a simple soul. To me, chunky fish fingers are thicker than usual, and sandwich means between two slices of bread. What appeared were 3 very ordinary fish fingers, lost in a large crusty roll, such that elderly gnashers struggled to have an impact. Both of us gave up at the end, ate the fish fingers and abandoned the roll. We left hungry and angry. Waitrose! You value your reputation but really! Our whole experience today was seriously underwhelming

A nice clean cafe, with limited but good choices. Not the cheapest in town but good value for the food provided. Staff friendly and helpful.

We regularly enjoy an excellent standard breakfast with quality coffee in what has always been a quiet and relaxed environment. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and very helpful. You are paying slightly above cafe prices but you are receiving restaurant standard food and drink. I find it remarkable that some reviews criticise the time they have to wait; I understand that each meal is freshly cooked to order which clearly reflects in the high quality delivery. The longest we have waited was 15 mins which I do not have a problem with. WELL DONE WAITROSE!

The breakfasts are OK and reasonably priced. However, does anybody employed by Waitrose to oversee their restaurant standards EVER taste the coffee? It is horrible. We have tried every permutation in the vain hope of settling on something drinkable and have given up. The subject of coffee causes some amusement among our friends who also shop there. We can buy their beans, bring them home and make a delicious cup in minutes, yet the stuff they serve is hideous. How hard can it be.? Waitrose! Wake up and smell the coffee!!

Called in for coffee and thought I'd have a bacon in a muffin bun after sitting down with our coffees waited a good 20 minutes with the buzzer not going off decided to ask if the order had been placed, but I wasn't the only one checking, so decided on a refund and left

Nice clean restaurant and food well presented. Gentlemen who took my order was lovely but other staff vacant looking and unhelpful. A fish finger wrap and fries took 30 minutes to arrive and they forgot the fries so I had to wait another 10 mins for those. Bearing in mind there were only a few people in the restaurant i cannot understand the delay. Nice menu but very slow.

I really have tried hard to like this place and on the odd occasion it can be good, but only if you are eating food which is supposed to be cold. When you get to the counter, the choice you want is sometimes out of stock. The queues are often long at peak times, with slow servers behind the counter. the food, when it eventually arrives is usually on the cold side, and I often see customers returning their breakfasts for a replacement or refund. A cold cooked breakfast really shouldn't happen and I have addressed this with management only to be told that THEY ARE HOT ! Come on, buck your ideas up!

We stopped for an early Sunday lunch. I was initially disappointed that my first choice of meals was 'out of stock' and unavailable, but the server worked with me to find an acceptable (veggie) alternative. Would definitely stop here again if in the area.

3rd review on Waitrose and still like calling in for a drink or food on this occasion both and still enjoyed the food but will say it's quite expensive especially my wife had the fish finger wrap which only had a single fish finger in there for over £5 Not great value

My first visit to a Waitrose cafe and will be my last. Paid £2.40 for a black Americano coffee and it was so bad I returned it to the counter. The staff were helpful and made another one but this was equally revolting. I only drink black coffee and have never seen one this colour. The colour resembled black tea, a rather strange looking brown colour, like rooibos. Certainly didn't resemble coffee. The taste was equally as bad, like a poor quality, instant decaf, but I was assured they had served me the correct coffee.Come on Waitrose, I thought you were an up market store. Certainly no match to the coffee supplied in the John Lewis cafés.

We all know Waitrose is known to be one of the more expensive/luxury supermarkets so I assumed the cafe would be up to a high standard. We arrived on a Weekend day, it was fairly busy but I’d guess standard for weekends. Went to look for a table by the window and all 5 had food/trays all over them. We sat down and my Husband got the drinks, service was very slow and with the Coke bottle not offered a glass. Looking outside most tables still had leftovers on. A young man eventually came round after 20 minutes and cleared tables slowly but didn’t even wipe them down, then other people sat at them (very unhygienic!) Staff don’t seem friendly like other cafes in the area. Was disappointed.

very disappointing...quality is of a second rate cafe....first meal they brought out had cold half the ingredients, so they took it back...then it came back out with double the mushrooms, put an additional egg over the original one...!! was hot but of very low quality...i would expect paying £11+ for a breakfast and a coffee it would be lovely but far from it..I did get a free coffee and the servers were fine with me sending it back, but they had kids in the kitchen cooking...expected much much more from Waitrose...will NOT be returning....

The quality of the breakfast is first class. Options given mean you get what you like and not the items that are listed (I don't like 3 of the items so usually waste them elsewhere). We go with our grandchildren who are catered for to our request which is a great help and again saves a lot of waste. Service always excellent and nothing too much trouble. Buzzer system for when food is ready and always piping hot. Have been a dozen times at least in last 4 months.

Thought we would try the cafe here for an afternoon drink and slice of cake. Ordered pot of Earl Grey, (served Duchy Organic), and a regular breakfast tea. Neither were anything special, Earl Grey not much flavour. Cakes were a slice of Lemon Drizzle & a slice of Lemon Orange and Polenta. Both lacked taste, quite greasy, and certainly not a nice sponge. Left half the Drizzle cake. Sorry Waitrose, Cafe looks good but could do better.

I was so delighted to see a choice of gluten free cakes and bars I struggled to decided what to have. My problem was solved by Lynda who served us, as after choosing my lemon and poppy seed muffin she gave me a complimentary chocolate and hazelnut one to try. Then she lent us her own so we could do our crossword over a very nice cup of coffee. My husband had a lemon Danish pastry which he also enjoyed. Excellent friendly service I would strongly recommend

Typically John Lewis, all about the quality and presentation. The lattes were very hot, presented well. Being a coffee specialist for a living I would say milk too hot so a bitter aftertaste but enjoyable nonetheless. Eggs Benedict presented well, very tasty although 1 egg a bit hard.

My husband and I use the cafe at least twice a week, when doing our Waitrose shopping. Lovely friendly partners, excellent choice of hot or cold food, very clean restaurant and cloakrooms (all on ground level for easy access). Good car park too. Although we only tend to have coffee and a light snack, the hot food coming out to other customers always looks really delicious. The Waitrose partners make this cafe so wonderful, as they go out of their way to deliver excellent customer service. I am so pleased to have this wonderful Waitrose branch and cafe in Banbury as it ticks all of my boxes.

Be prepared to fetch your own breakfast at Waitrose. I was surprised at this, because other supermarket bring it to you when a cooked breakfast is ordered. Worst of all the breakfast wasn't very hot. The plates were cold, so although the breakfast looked nice, it wasn't enjoyable. I suppose I should have complained there and then, but we made our minds up we wouldn't be using the cafe again anyway. I do object at having to fetch the breakfast myself when it's ready. It should be brought to the table once it has been ordered and paid for.

Have had coffee here on a number of occasions but seldom eat. Why? Bearing in mind that this cafe is yards from the shop, there are no wheat free sandwiches or cakes (one nut bar available) & today thinking I could get a baked potato when I went my choice was chips. Soup & fish pie were dubious (wheat or no wheat who knows, I don't and neither do they). To add insult to injury I was offered a free pastry or bircher muesli (I think not). I have complained to Waitrose before and it has got me no where. Is it beyond the realms of possibility in the 21st century to sell meringues with or without cream/fruit, rice crispie cakes, wheat free sandwiches/cakes/biscuits from the shop, baked potatoes, soup made with cornflour. And just to let you know, oats are from the wheat family so flapjacks, muesli, porridge and the like are not an option. Educate your staff please and try to look after your customers.

Biggest thing to compliment this place on is the customer service. I was very impressed with all members of staff serving on the 3 mornings I visited for a pastry and coffee breakfast whilst staying nearby. Friendly, efficient and I watched them acknowledge regulars by name. If I lived nearby this would definitely be my choice of place to go in Bicester. Coffee was very good. Had decaf flat whites, regular flat whites and a lovely piccolo coffee (slightly larger than a macchiato). Tasty range of pastries (I especially loved the raspberry croissant). Totally recommend you give it a try.
