Starbucks in Cherwell

Ordered coffee with oat milk and got one with whole milk instead. How difficult is it to read the order correctly?

It's a Starbucks, innit? Carpark a bit tight now they've put I a drive through.

A sneaky place on the left, as you pass the shell garage. Odd entrance and you could go flying by if you didn't notice it, but well worth it if you stop

Drive-Thru in name only it appears. For 2-weeks this location has had a cone up blocking drivers from using the popular option of Drive-Thrus in the 21st Century. It raises the point why build a Drive thru option if consumers are made to park, order and wait? When asked why the cone has been up for weeks, the female supervisor replied, we only have two people working. For 2-weeks? The problem is they only had 1 customer inside sat. So they were not busy all to support this. Hopefully the manager will address the staffing issue (if it exist) and reopen the Drive thru especially for those who are disabled.

Forgot our drinks then gave us a coffee which wasn't made with soya. All this after a girl died last week by being given the wrong milk in a Costa! Wake up for God's sake

Couldn't serve drinks due to a staffing issue even though there were two members of staff present on site. Very limited parking.

Appearance a bit scruffy. Ordered tea and had to return it as made with lukewarm water.

Great staff nice new clean seating following the revamp but coffee was awful. It was bitter and just unpleasant

I know it's a motorway pit stop but the food was terrible as was the atmosphere. Staff were friendly but only thing I enjoyed was my cold beverage.

They do not accept cash payments, which is unacceptable as it is a legal means of payment.

I needed to waste some time so as not to arrive in Oxford too early. I wasn't looking for any particularly quality—but I was blown away by the intelligent and good-humoured service. Thank you to Katie and her colleagues! The dining space and other facilities were modern and thoroughly clean. Now I shall always stop here on my way down the A34—much better than any garage shop.

They've done up the restaurant, it looks cleaner and fresher. The service and coffee seems to have improved loads too. It's a shame so many race past this place because if you like a Starbucks this is a good one.

Brand new. You can literally smell the fresh wood flooring and the new leather chairs.

It's a Starbucks so you know what you're getting. Minimalist design and somewhat soulless with value engineered design but good coffee and great service. Easy parking but limited spaces available so be aware of that. Great if you need a Starbucks coffee and a rest whilst heading South...

Looks like the new design format, impressive tbf. This is a lighter better style of what we all know and the service matched it. Got a friendly hello and even goodbye. Just a shame very few vegan options, as usual. Would return

Not a nice place to stop off for a break when travelling to the Midlands. Choice of food awful. In the end went to M & S shop, bought a healthy sandwich & sat in the car to eat it. Come back 'Little Chef'!

Not sure if it was just the day, but Saturday drive-thru was chaotic. I think it was a 25+ minute wait for 3 cars, menu items ran out, staff seemingly not communicating...

Great coffee, food and customer experience. Pricey but for a special treat worth it.

This review is for Starbucks A34 NORTH. This is my go-to stop on the way up the country when travelling for work. Scott served me and is a proper lovely guy, coffee great as always too. Thanks again!

Been here many times on way north just south of M40 junction.Now with new drive through.

Not enough staff . Drive though takes Priority so be prepared to wait

They insist on LOUD music which many people were discussing. Five couples left within minutes of it being turned on.

Although a few staff took a while to get our order, staff were polite.

Coffee weak and milky, service not as good as McDonald's

I very much enjoyed grabbing my morning coffee and breakfast past couple of years. It has recently declined in service. This seems to affect most franchises I've come across. Am now officially without a favourite Starbucks coffee store nearby given they are all pretty much the same, average service and always loud music playing which doesn't help customers.

Terrible service and unbelievably they couldn’t even make a Flat White properly. Hopeless

Hardly any food like toasties out. No sugar out. No toilet roll in the ladies. Mens toilet flooded. Their order system was chaotic...every other order wrong in some way. People having to ask where their drinks were. No exaggeration needed. Worst Starbucks I've ever been too. Avoid

Hey Starbucks, what's up with the lack of China cups? I've noticed that you're using plastic lids on three cups, which seems unnecessary. And to top it off, the staff doesn't seem to care about switching to cups, even though I can see them right there. Come on, Starbucks, you've always been a leader in environmental initiatives. Let's step up our game and lead the way with the environment

Absolutely dreadful toilets. Menstrual blood on seat in ladies. Urine all over floor in men's. Stopped here many times and toilets are always bad. This was 31st August 2023 @ 6.20pm. Could not find anyone to report it too, and nowhere on line either.

Large and quick service. However not very clean, only serves paper cups as doesn't have working dishwasher. No car charger. Not really a cosy Starbucks atmosphere, probably due to being old little chef.

Really bad Starbucks. Very long wait to be served. Tense atmosphere as everyone was getting increasingly grumpy about the delays. The staff didn't seem to care and I witnessed them getting orders wrong and spilling coffee beans all over the floor. Avoid.

Decent drive thru before M40...

Very mucky in foyer and cafe could do with a mop, atmosphere was absent. Young lad made our drink, overfilled had to do it again. He did apologise and made a large instead of medium. Apart from that not a great place and totally overpriced .

Staff need more training in customer service

Awful. Waited 10 minutes to get served. We wanted 2 cups of tea. Server just said "we haven't got any tea". No apology or sympathy - pretty dreadful.

Just called into this store, waited 10 minutes to be served only to be told they had no tea - no apology either. Shocking service expect more from a Starbucks.

Poliet service, relocate straws

I needed a coffee. Used the loo too and wow! This needs a serious cleaning. Even the lobby sent up clouds of dust on opening the door. The loo itself was ok but the walls were filthy, water stains, deep dust, black staining around waste pipes, sink outlet was also black. Get in a proper cleaner.

Surly service and undrinkable coffee

Service via drive through is abysmal. Doesn't seem to be any processes. It's called a drive through as you don't intend spending 15 minutes in a queue for a drink. 4 staff I saw not a clue between them just laughing and messing around. Won't be returning.

Spacious and elegant coffee house with beautiful views. Fantastic customer service. Definitely worth saving to my favourites!

Great staff making delicious drinks. Great visit thank you. Oh, and to others, don't moan if there's a queue due to it being busy. Some road users don't deserve nice rest areas with their grumpy attitudes.

Ok it's only a Starbucks but actually it's like a little oasis when you've come off the M40. I prefer to stop here rather than the services on the M40 because it's quieter and the coffee is good. So every time I'm coming back on the M40 then joining the A34, I stop (if it's open). Get refreshed without the hustle bustle of motorway services.

We were served just 5 minutes ago by a very kind gentleman with a short beard who offered our dog a puppicino. It is a warm day and our pooch was very happy with this customer service. The pooch asked if I would leave a nice review and recommends this gentlemen gets employee of the month.

You serve drinks... How do you run out of tea?!

Usual high prices but tucked away so not to busy, nice staff, toilet needed a clean

Awful customer service. We asked for a latte with oat milk. Luckily we drove round to the window with enough time to watch the barista make the drink with normal milk…. Very concerning if you have allergies. We then asked to swap it for oat milk. Reluctantly he said yes, we then watched him pour out the normal milk drink to then use the same cup for the new oat milk version. Some awareness needs to be made for those who need alternative milk for a dietary requirement. We were then over charged for 3 drinks instead of two, and after requesting a receipt they again reluctantly agreed to provide a refund. This was given in small change after we paid by card. Too much hassle considering the drive thru should be a quick and easy process. Retrain your staff please

Excellent place to grab a coffee and something to eat. Absolutely great coffee and food. One star less because every time something seems to be wrong with the loo.

Apart from not liking Starbucks coffee, my biggest complaint about #Starbucks is that they seem to have adopted a policy of not accepting cash. Cash should be the primary method of paying for something you want. #KeepCash

Staff very friendly & chatty. Service was slow because one of the coffee machines was broken, but otherwise it was just like most other Starbucks - apart from the warehouse-like seating area, which was unwelcoming and boring.

Coffee, tea, porridge and croissant. Food good but staff did not offer to warm croissant. Otherwise OK for breakfast.

It's a Starbucks, just like all the rest. I arrived fairly late in the day so there were no sandwiches left, only cake but on the plus side there were no other customers either so no waiting.

Sausage sandwich was actually a bun with some sausage shaped items tasted bad as you eat it and made you regret eating it for an hour or so. Expensive badly designed (impossible and dangerous just finding your way out of the services. I felt less relaxed than if I had just carried on driving.

Although I love Starbucks and the coffee was good I was a bit disappointed that for a company with such a big name the hygiene of the toilets totally let the place down, urinals were overflowing which made me feel dirty when I left. Come on starbucks- you can do better. Staff were friendly and plenty of parking.

Very "roadside". Food and drinks are exactly as you'd expect from Starbucks. Well-made, tasty, promptly made. Loos need somebody to love them. And maybe a plumber...

Stopped on our way to Swindon. Quick service, good parking and pleasant staff. I had a bit of an awkward order, but staff was helpful and delivered good service. Clean facilities to use. There was quite a lot of people that morning with only 2 staff members, but did not had to wait long.

Convenient stopping point at the top of the northbound A34, before you face the M40 two miles further north. This Starbucks occupies the site of a former much-appreciated Little Chef and is, today, joined by a KFC with drive-through. Driving tip: as you leave the A34 to anter the site (the big BP sign is an easy marker), the sliproad is short and (May2023) overgrown bushes on the left can hide cars exiting the Starbucks site. 11May2023.

Very expensive coffee wasn't great Now you have to pay for your cardboard cup

Strange how quiet it always is when I buy coffee here. Rarely any queue, so service great. Food and drink is just as you'd expect from a Starbucks. If you like Starbucks you'll like this one.

I stopped here on a very wet Saturday morning. The 2 lads on duty were very friendly. I got my coffee very quickly. The place wasn't busy. It was very clean, tidy and warm. All you need when you need a break. Thank you.

The toilets were very disappointing, broken taps, dryer not working and no sanitiser. In both male/female, will not stop there again.

Oh Starbucks ! This is not You. Coffee made burning hot. blame the sunny day maybe. Gift card did not work. blame the machine maybe. Only take-away cups for sitting in customers. blame the dishwasher not working maybe. Worse than a basic Wifi. Oh was that a blame on BT or Sky ? confirm your provider please. Seems they are pretty lost or have no clue what they are doing. Needs less than a star, as they are good for nothing. Take you business to other Cafe's near by.

My triple shot medium cappuccino failed the flavour test. My fault for not tasting before I rejoined the dual carriageway as I am sure the Barista would have tried again.
