Waitrose offers and excellent stop for snacks and tea/coffee with free parking. Newspapers as well! A great plus in these days.

being a long term customer of this store, we have been very disappointed at the constent unavailability of certain goods , on a regular basis. The store seems unable to keep up with customer needs so thought it was time to mention this.

Well this was disappointing, the tree staff were just standing chatting for few minutes before serving us, then they really didn’t have a clue about the food on offer, tables were not cleared and looked dirty, won’t be coming back that’s for sure

This used to be a place where you could get a hot dish at lunchtime. This now seems to have diminished into a dish in a carton that can be microwaved. On my latest, and possibly, final visit I had a panini or similar which had been microwaved until the bread was almost uneatable it was so hard. This was followed by a Portuguese tart that was both greasy and tough, obviously had been hanging around a bit. This is quite sad, as the staff serving this food are very pleasant and helpful

What we had was good, however, according to the Blackboard the meat was Beef, Chicken, or Gammon. Unless you are known to Chef, after we had eaten he came and offered two guests LAMB.. I will attach a picture of our ‘Large’ portions. That is unless you are known to chef, then your portion is considerably larger. Note, the small flat piece of Yorkshire pudding, or at least I think that’s what it is supposed to be. Four, yes four sprouts, I actually asked our lovely waitress if she were sure that these were large portions. Note one slice of parsnip, one slice of sweet potato, that mushed up white stuff is cauliflower cheese and sloppy broccoli. I made my issues known, it’s simply not good enough to give preferential treatment to regulars, unfortunately we are local and were just out for a Sunday lunch. Like I said what we had was nice, and graciously and politely served, but if you know chef you will get larger, large portions. Don’t go here if you don’t know chef.

Our breakfast was absolutely perfect. Everything was delicious and the service was great. My duvet and I had the full breakfast and my son/husband had the sandwich.

Scam! Pub is closed. Last owner did a runner and charged my credit card for a room they had no intent on providing. Total criminal.

Brilliant pub, brilliant atmosphere! Locals were all very friendly & welcoming & the landlords, Ashley & Samantha are the friendliest & loveliest people I've met as pub runners. Top place x
