Certificate of excellence for quality service and food. The best Chinese in Newcastle upon Tyne, I am a devoted fan of theirs now. Bravo and keep up with the good work.

Just had salt &chili chicken with plain noodles plus sweet and sour pork in batter . Both were absolutely cooked to perfection ,and we will try other recipes on the menu. L

Spare ribs ok but king prawns ( that weren’t ) very bad , chewy shrimps in batter . Beef in black bean sauce not to good either. Won’t use again .

Food was awful,chilli and garlic prawns watery,no chillis and prawns were chewy,chicken balls were soggy and chicken was dry.Chips were very dark and dry.sorry won't be ordering again -1.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! scheduled an order for 8 o clock and didn’t come til 9:30, placed order at 5! Lady was v v rude and useless. We had to go to the store to check on the order and she had nothing to say for herself and just rang the driver. She blocked my number and didn’t answer my calls and when I rang off my sisters phone she answered and told me she’d call back - never did. Will never be ordering from this sorry state of affairs again :( ruined my night

Very rude woman on counter and food is old, save your money as it’s very expensive!

I ordered food from this Chinese takeaway and food arrived 45mins. The food was cold and the chips were reheated. The salt and pepper chicken was so tough to eat and the prawns were hard in the prawn curry. The chicken chow mien was so dry and the chicken was tough. The rice were cold and hard. I am so angry and disappointed with the food and when I complained the woman was rude and and very abrupt shouting over on top of me. I am going to complain to the food and hygiene trade standard. I will never order from this take away again. Please customers be warned that the food in this place is disgusting and inedible. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS TAKEAWAY

Don’t mistake this for the gossy one! I did this and accidentally ordered from forest hall and it just didn’t turn up! I was told it would be delivered in 15 mins and I’m still waiting…

It tastes great. I ordered roast duck, lychee meat, etc., which are authentic and delicious.

Normal Chinese takeaway - cash only

Very warm welcome from the off. Reasonable prices. Portions were great. Food was nice but unfortunately I found the tip of a rubber glove finger in my 'curry, rice and chips' It didnt stop me from eating what I had. Salt and chilli chicken was a massive portion and lovely. The rest was also nice but I'm put off going back and wont be recommending simply because I found part of a glove in my meal. It's nice to know the kitchen staff are wearing gloves but I dont want part of them in my food.

Very nice Chinese takeaway. Best bbq spare ribs by a far. Will definitely be back to try different dishes off the menu. The only thing is that it is cash only

Salt and pepper chicken and chips. Couldn’t eat it l, rang to complain was told it’s very spicy there and I should ask for it less spicy. Told them should advise customers this. Ended up washing the chicken and chips in a colander re heating so I could eat it. Had this at other take aways and it was fine. Only one open in Cramlington on a Tuesday, won’t be going back. No offer of a discount or refund.

Food wasnt nice. When I rang to ask about the order a woman answered was very sharp and rude . Would not recommend. Will not use again.

They have impressed me with the worst chinese I've had in years. Had chicken and mushroom curry. The chicken was processed and the curry was like water. Just drained through the rice. No flavour and the place isn't cheap. 5 star prices for 1 star food

I used to use this Chinese regular and recommended it to all but not any more! I ordered a chicken chow mein last night and when I opened it I quickly noticed that there was very very little chicken in it and what chicken was in was very small strips of processed chicken and I also ordered some deep fried curry parcels which were just deep fried parcels with not even enough curry in to alter the taste, upon complaining all I got was sorry but thanks for your feedback

Quick stop off for large chips with curry with my daughter. 5 minutes before close time. Lovely tasting food very hot temperature. Will be back again to try something else.

Food was shocking got a massive potion of water chestnut and slices of carrot beef was tasteless and no flavour to the sauce, could hardly find the cashew nuts. Meal was supposed to be beef and cashew. Sent chicken and cashew first. And cold

Ordered a foo yung, house special WITHOUT SEAFOOD. Got home. Fulll of prawns. Fried rice no better than aldis microwave stuff. Oh and cash only! It’s 2023! Not good

Thanks for these reviews, this used to be our favourite Chinese and was just about to order a meal tonight, think I'll look elsewhere after reading these reviews.

I ordered 5 items and only received 3. As it was now late at night I offered they could bring the other items the next day. The next day came and I heard nothing and when I called to request them I was told that it would be 2 hours to receive them! And then question TWICE are you sure you want them? Are you sure? Otherwise it’s theft Thankyou. Theft pure and simple. No apology, no we we will give you extra. Nothing. By the way it’s now been 2 hours 15 and no food has arrived. Not the first thing their rudeness has incensed me but this is first time I’ve ever left a review. Ludicrously overpriced food with ever decreasing portion sizes. Not even free prawn crackers. Last order from me and I’ll spread the word as I’m local.

Been here for years but will never ever go again after the way I was treated recently. Ordered late at night on way home from a gruelling shift at the hospital only to find when I got home that they had given me the wrong dish. Unable to phone as shop was closed. I went back at the next available opportunity to inform them of the error and they refused to either refund me or give me the dish I originally ordered. Terrible customer service. Total rip off merchants. Beware of buying food from them.

Overly priced , Food hygiene bad drivers late constantly and and there staff are very rude especially the woman who works behind the desk who answers the phone poor English and her attitude is lifting I will never order from there again. ( Customer Service skills needed )

Getting 1 star so I can leave a review. Your delivery time and cost of meal implicates food excellence. Absolutely file. Egg shell in my egg foo yung. Slimey prawns rotten rice and warmed up stale chips. If you were rated on skill instead of hygiene you would be SHUT DOWN. I will be spreading the word. Feel free to return my cash and I'll return my bin liner with your food in.

I’ve used this place for years. Got disappointed with late delivery and terrible customer service. Recently found a new fantastic Chinese (endless takeaway gosforth). Last night endless was closed so thought I’d give wai Ho another go. Ordered at 6.30pm on a Tuesday yet over 2 hours to wait. Delivery driver and take away were so unhelpful despite me saying I’d used them for years. Couldn’t care less Woman hung up on me when I complained!!!! Then when I tried to call back she just kept hanging up on me. Ashfield and endless kitchen are so much better. Don’t bother with wai Ho. They just want your money!!!

It took 1.5 hrs to arrive from placing the order to delivery. The food was lukewarm. The chips were inedible. The foo young so dry neither of us could eat it. The sweet and sour chicken was like rubber. A very expensive meal ended up mostly in the bin. I’ve ordered from here for years. I won’t be wasting my money again.

Placed an order and was told it would be an hour and twenty minutes. Two hours later called to see if our order was on the way and was reassured it was. They're now closed, not answering the phone and no sign of our food. Liars.

When we order they told us will be 1 hour, after 1hour and 30 minutes call back to check where my order is to be told its on the way , 30 minutes later call again as not order had arrived to say not to bother any more for the order, the lady just said ok and close the phone. She did NOT EVEN APOLOGISE for the delay , few minutes later driver(very polite)knocked the door and I explained to him at this point I am not happy for paying my bill and I call back to speak with the lady on the phone , she didnt care about customer service at all and ask me to spoke with her driver thoughy phone and after close the phone.she said to him to take the food and leave. We order from there all the time but that was last !!!!!

This place is always happy to take money from hard working people who pay their taxes, but given that they’ve had a “cash only” sign on their door for as long as I can remember, they almost certainly aren’t paying their share

Told the girl behind the counter took my order and specifically said “no vegetables” so I agreed. However when she gave us our order it was 2 lots of the same chicken, one of which I cannot eat. She then proceeded to say it was what I ordered when I knew it wasn’t.

Thought it was great at first when the food was delivered within 15 minutes of placing my order. However my husband then became extremely unwell for days after eating their food. Probably reheated which explains the speed of delivery. I would strongly advise to avoid eating food from here. Also expensive for the amount you get.

Ordered a takeaway from here over the weekend and all I can say is soggy soggy soggy wet delayed food. BEST PART when I called to complain I was told by the person on the other end NOT TO ORDER HERE AGAIN if I wasn’t happy they then hung up the phone on me and when I called back they blocked me HOW UNPROFESSIONAL is all I can say.

I have been going here for years I arrived at 1035 pm On Saturday night to discover that when I entered the Takeaway I was rudely told it was shut !! People had been told to wait outside for their meals In the cold !! Firstly s lot if customers leave the pub and get chinese A reasonable time to close would not be 1035pm!! The attitude of the girl in the front was terrible Knowing we are regulars That’s cost you mate I will be going elsewhere I willl never go back hopeless!!!

Waited over 2 hours for it to be delivered and it came stone cold ,rang shop up and the lad that was on the phone was rude as ever and kept hanging the phone up!

Menus in shop say one price, but the woman behind the counter charged a higher price. When pointed out to the woman behind the counter, that what I was charged was a higher price than what the menu said, her reply was that the menu price was wrong!! Have used wai ho for years, won't be going back and definitely would not recommend it!!

We have been using this takeaway for years. Alice who works there is lovely, Every meal we have ever had is fresh and delicious. King prawn curry and chicken in green chilli and garlic are delicious. Never had a bad meal from here so very surprised at the bad reviews.

Fast serving for collection, one of the best takeaway, food is delicious, gets order right all times, not too greasy.

Loyal patron but service standards have slipped a lot over the past year or so. There was a time you could pay by card but it's cash only now (in the middle of a pandemic, handling cash a 1000 others have handled... Why do this??). Also, collection orders used to get a free bag of prawn crackers, not any more, that'll be £2 please. I chose to collect as the last two delivery orders were missing items. Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious, but the service is heading in one direction: downwards. Shame.😞

Placed a £50 order at 6pm which was delivered at 7pm items were missing so called the shop who said it would be sent out straight away over an hour later and still nothing meal ruined and the attitude from the lady on the phone is disgraceful.

Omg I order from here all the time , loved the food , twice ive had the wrong order let it go the first time and said no worries so I called the restaurant to let them no it was the wrong order the second time the receptionist couldn't of been any rude really bad attitude , you need to brush up on your customer service skills love

Two and a half hours after my initial order and I’m still waiting. The customer service is terrible, twice I have phoned and twice I have been told good bye and had the phone put down on me. Portions are small, missing items, cold and basically not worth nearly £50 do not order from here EVER !!!!

Waited 3hrs and 45 minutes for our order, never picked up the phone. Just rang and rang. When we eventually got through we were told it's on it way and put the phone down without even asking our address. An hour and half later still nothing. Tried to get some of our money back through JustEat for unreasonable waiting time. Restaurant owner refused on the grounds we got our order eventually!! Terrible and will never ever use them again.

Absolutely terrible service, ordered via just eat at 6pm, given a delivery time of 7:20, rang twice to be told it was on way, phone call over an hour late from delivery driver to say was outside, not my house mate! He was only in another street of the same name 7 mile away! Post code? Sat nav? Never again!

Just had delivery, it was cold greasy, un appetising, waste of £30 plus, soup was cold not tasty, will never go back there, should of got a refund, be careful people out there, worst Chinese I've ever had, it all went in the bin.

Our favourite Chinese takeaway, so far we were jòt disappointed, the staff is lovely everytime I visit and the food is great. Used to live in Gosforth, now that we moved to Howdon we still have a pilgrimage every month or so to get our favourite food. 😊

ordered food tonight at 7.25pm told was an hour which was okay 9.05pm no food and sorry we are busy maybe another 5 mins after 2 previous calls . cancelled food told okay we busy . 12 hour shift and now having to cook . Dont use if you are hungry .

Would have given zero stars but not an option - go to Chinese when at girlfriends had 3 different dishes on different occasions from here and if you like dried not fried rice and jelly gravy this is the place to eat, even better if you like cold food - never again...and for the people who have rated this place highly try the food sober

Food is the best tasting Chinese takeaway around. Never going to be healthy but if you want delicious food and the tastiest fried rice you can get this is the place. Don’t bother with delivery, just pick it up.

My parents brought chinese meals home from this take away when i was tiny...and we are still travelling to this take away. Food is always amazing and hot...and reasonably priced and always ready on time for take away

Absolutely useless always get the order wrong never listen just ring A1 at Kenton and get everything correct,girl answering phone needs to go on a customer care course. I rang to complain order was with chicken and not king prawn as ordered she said that's what I ordered ??why would I order something that i didnt want she then hung up on me twice,unfortunately the lowest star is one they don't even deserve that .

Ordered a take away that was half an hour late & stone cold. Driver was rude & when rang to complain was told the driver would be sacked as they were aware of his bad attitude & that future orders would be subject to 20% discount. I honestly would not bother with ordering from this place - the food is very poor quality & I have no doubt the owner was just saying what she thought I wanted to hear.

I tried every Chinese in Gosforth and nothing comes close. Honey chilli chicken with salt and chilli chips is unbelievable and my favourite meal but only from Wai Ho. I can’t speak highly enough how good it is. Unbelievable 💯

We always love the food from here and the family that run it are very efficient.

Compared to takeaways in our part of the country seemed a bit expensive (1-2 quid more per dish), but the portion sizes are impressive. Tasty food as well.

realmente molesto de que esperábamos un picante chili munchie box después de un largo día de trabajo. Lamentablemente simplemente no se entregó en ningún recuento. Fue recogido por lo que no hay necesidad de entrega. era de color beige tonelada de patatas fritas. No chili (pedí cargas extra) y bastante sin sabor. ¡Nada picante / mojado para que todo se gelifique! Muy seco, muy beige. muy carb fest. Tuve que cortar mi propio chile y proporcionar salsas.Ya no vamos a los buenos fideos en Great North Road después de una entrega de cumpleaños fallida, pero su caja de munchie era un estándar para establecer. Salsa, picante, sal y chile gambas, papas fritas y pollo y muy sabroso.Básicamente, no te molestes con Wai Ho Munchie Box a las 15. La nuestra fue a la papelera después de unas cuantas bocas llenas. llorando.

La mujer aquí es nada menos que impocompetente cuando toma las órdenes, ya que ella se equivoca, cuando le pides consejos si su error discute y! se niega a cambiar el orden. Normally get deep fried shezuan which is exceptional but got chop suey this time and the char Sui pork was excellent . This is an original Chinese with exceptional food. Don't walk past without making an order. Brilliant P B

Mi comida china habitual estuvo extrañamente cerrada un miércoles, así que opté por estos tipos con una recomendación de amigos. Pedí curry especial con arroz frito, absolutamente excelente. Un montón de pollo magro fresco, cerdo Char siu y langostinos en una deliciosa salsa de curry. Voy a volver.

Pedí los fideos crujientes fritos con pato. Terminé con carne sin sabor que parecía pato, la piel se dejó y no se había crujido, era grasosa y viscosa. Los fideos no estaban crujientes, eran suaves y pegajosos. Todo el lote vino en una extraña salsa dulce pero sin sabor.Este lugar es terrible.

Tried this place a few times... The food was pretty good at first, but then deliveries were taking longer and longer and the food would arrive cold, On one occaision after several phone calls, and the driver claimimg he couldn't find the address (even though he's been here several times), it arrived 2 hours late and stone cold so we sent it back. After a while we decided to give it a second chance, but collect the food instead. Then they began missing items off the order and what we did get wasn't that great ... we give up.

Order from Wai Ho at least once a month and never had a single problem. Always hot, tasty and available for collection in 20 minutes.

Use siempre Wai Ho para la entrega o la recolección. Nunca tuve un problema con la comida. Siempre está caliente y fresco. La entrega es un buen momento y siempre tan fresca como una colección. No creo que vaya a otro lugar para una comida china. Absolutamente encantador ? ? ?

Chicken curry with egg fried rice amazing 😍

First time I tried this takeaway as I am not from this area I phoned my order in to be greeted by an abrupt woman, my takeaway arrived and the delivery driver said my take away was £13 I gave the driver a £20 note he told me his last customer had took all his chanage and he would be back when he had change. I ate my food then called wai ho to ask when to expect the driver the abrupt woman said he would be back my midnight the driver didn't return. The next day I called wai ho back to ask when I would get my change the woman said her driver wasnt in tonight so she would call me back when he was. I called back a few days later as I hadn't heard from her for the abrupt woman to say the driver has been back to return your money when I said he hasn't she said it was a tip then she called me a liar and thick then put the phone down on me. The customer service is shocking and the food wasn't much better!

The title says it all really. Got home to find I had a meal that I didn't order, called them to be told I had got what I'd ordered. I explained that I don't eat meat so I think the mistake was theirs. Rudely told again that it was my fault. Food went in the bin, customer lost. Plenty of other Chinese food places to try but I'll never use Wah Ho again.

I have been ordering from these guys for years now they have never failed to deliver up quality hot tasty and ample take out. Delivery has always been prompt and courteous. Thanks guys for making a night off from cooking a total joy

Ordered take away for delivery which arrived 2 hours late; despite two phone calls where they said it was said delivery was just leaving. This was for a family get together we sent it back as they refused to give us a discount - ordered at 7 didnt arrive till 9 ruined family meal.

Fui a por comida para llevar antes de ir de vacaciones. La comida es terrible Chow Mein - Singapur - grasienta y sin sabor, dulce y amarga y de nuevo las costillas gristly insípida, mientras que la salsa dulce y agria era glutinous y francamente comestible. Dulce y agria Pollo llegó sin la salsa y tardaron casi una hora y 4 llamadas de teléfono antes de llegar. Totalmente de acuerdo con Paul J!

Only managed to order half of my order before I was pushed to one side for another customer. When I did finally finished my order it was made wrong due to bad customer service. My meal was so bad I could not eat it and just thought i would be wasting my breath ringing up to complain. Never again!!!

Woman serving has a disgusting attitude

I order from you every week!! .....begrudgingly giving a 1 star as I was given no option for 0 star!! A delivery which was placed at 9 o clock!! Which still hasn't been delivered and it's 10.49pm!!!! . Numerous phone calls with the lady who takes the orders and at one point she was calling the delivery driver and I heard him swear at her???? ....she then tells me he's been!! Even though I heard him say he was at the wrong address??? Why lie??? and still no where closer to our food arriving???? Don't think it's coming!!! Appalling
